"You know, you're not very romantic…"

Sixteen year old Stanton Pines looked towards his girlfriend with a curious expression on his face. Bianca was leaning against the arm of the sofa as she playfully nudged him with her foot. He had been ignoring it so far in favor of focussing on his game, but when he'd heard her say those words it had actually caught his attention.

He hummed. "Did… did you just notice that?" he asked. It was no secret that Stanton was… well, his mom and Renee liked to say romantically challenged. How Bianca or any other girl who ever showed interest in him was a mystery he never solved. It took him a long while to sort out his own feelings towards her… or to get feelings at all.

She nodded. "I've noticed it since we met. It just still surprises me," she said. It really was odd to her. She knew at first it was just being turned down by him. It was like reverse psychology. But she couldn't quite figure out where down the line it had gone from the thrill of the chase to genuine affection.

"I'm sorry I guess?" Stanton said rubbing the back of his head.

She rolled her eyes. "Por favor, don't be sorry. I'm not mad about it or anything. I'm just saying stuff," she said nudging him again.

Stanton stared for a moment, trying to decide whether this was a genuine not being mad, or something that would come back to bite him later. From what he could tell she didn't seem actually upset, but he had a hard time telling. Even at sixteen, there was no mystery more elusive to him than that of the female mind.

He paused the game and then sat up. "Do you think I should try to be more romantic?" he asked curiously.

She smirked. "Stanton, you don't have to think too much on this. I was just bored and muttering stuff," she said as she sat up to meet him. "Don't take it personally."

Stanton looked down. He knew he wasn't romantic. He wasn't good at a lot of things that involved displays of affection. He never had been. The few times he had tried to be romantic hadn't exactly worked very well for him. Whenever things like this popped up he usually went to his sister or mom for advice.

"Disculpe, Stanton. Snap out of it," Bianca said snapping in front of him. "You're getting wrapped up in your thoughts again." She could tell from that zoned out look on his face he was overthinking things. She found it was better to take care of that before he did something crazy.

"You don't have to worry about it. You're…. sort of romantic in your own way sometimes," she said. He did have his moments. Just him trying was honestly a big step for him anyway, so she didn't hold it against him.

Stanton rubbed his chin. "Okay."

Bianca raised an eyebrow. "Okay like okay? Or Okay as in you're going to try something crazy later?" she asked. She knew there was a difference. Stanton was silent, which was not a good sign. She knew he wasn't a good liar, so when he got caught in a corner like this he'd just be silent. "Stanton, I'm telling you it's okay."

She leaned forward and cupped his face. "Just keep being regular with you. That's the guy I fell for… somehow," she said before giving him a peck on the lips.

Stanton felt his cheeks heat up. Kissing wasn't something he thought much of before, but now that he was older and understood a few more things… it was nice. He got ready to kiss her back, when suddenly a voice cut in. "Hey there you two, how are-" Bianca quickly backed up, her face blushing, and Stanton was nearly knocked off the couch with how fast she was.

Pacifica smirked down at the two. "Oh sorry, am I interrupting something?"

"No," Bianca said quickly.

"Yes," Stanton said nodding.

Bianca slapped his arm, making him wince. "It's fine you two. You're teenagers. Just make sure you're not up to anything too crazy. Are you staying for dinner Bianca? Stanton is making his zucchini lasagna," she offered.

"Si, that sounds great. Just let me call mi papa and let him know," she said getting up and heading towards the kitchen.

When she walked out, Stanton turned towards Pacifica. "Mom… do you have any advice on how I could be more romantic?" he asked.

Pacifica's eyes widened. Stanton had asked her for girl advice before, but asking how he could be more romantic? He'd never phrased it so directly before. "What brought this on?" she asked curiously.

"Something Bianca said. I just… I don't know."

Maybe he wanted to impress her. Or prove her wrong. He wasn't sure. But he felt like he needed to do something. Pacifica hummed and put a hand on her chin. "Well… I don't think traditional ideas would work for you," she said. "Maybe we should try something else. Oh, do you remember that movie we watched where…"

Bianca yawned and stretched her arms as she got ready for bed. She'd had a pretty nice time having dinner at the Pines house. Dipper and Pacifica always did their best to make her feel welcomed. And Stanton was a pretty good cook.

They were taking home economics later this year. She was definitely making sure they partnered up in class. Just as she was about to flop down onto her bed, she heard something tap against her window. She raised an eyebrow, and then heard another tap against the window.

She walked over and then took a look out the window, spotting a familiar figure. "Dios mio, what is he up to," she muttered before opening the window up. She looked down at Stanton who was standing in the front yard. "What are you doing here?" she asked.

"Trying to be romantic," Stanton said before holding a boom box over his head.

Bianca scoffed. "You're not…"

"Pretty sure I am," Stanton said before pressing the play button.

"Recuérdame

Si en tu mente vivo estoy (recuérdame)

Mis sueños yo te doy

Te llevo en mi corazon

Y te acompañaré

Unidos en nuestra canción

Contigo ahi estaré

Recuérdame..."

Bianca bit back a giggle. This had to be one of the chessiest and ciche attempts at romance she had ever seen. But somehow she found it so fitting. "It was cheap to use that song. You know how much I love that movie," she said.

Stanton nodded. "Yep, that's why I picked it."

"Hey! What the hell?!" Bianca looked over and saw her brother stickign his head out of the window. "What is this white boy shit?! Turn that shit off! I'm trying to sleep!"

"Sorry," Stanton called. "I'm trying to be romantic."

"Well take that shit somewhere else man!"

"But I have a few more songs to-"

"Get the fuck off my lawn kid!" Bianca sighed as she heard her father yelling from the other window. Great, now the boy of them were up. "God damn it! Why is it every time I see you around here you're doing some weird shit! I have to work in the morning, stop blasting that goodman boombox!"

Stanton clicked his tongue. "Can I just play like three more songs? Their not long. I can't hold the boombox for that long," he asked.

"Hell no! Take you ass out of-!"

"Todo el mundo se calló! Termina las canciones!" Bianca shouted angrily. "If you don't stick your heads back in those windows I swear to god tomorrow I will end you! Vuelve ahí, ahora! Lo digo en serio!"

For a moment there was just silence. And then Butch grunted. "You got five minutes kid," he said glaring down at Stanton. He had learned a while ago that out of all of his kids, Bianca was the one you wanted to piss off the least. His sons were handfuls sometimes, but his daughter? Ha!

"Psh, whatever man," Ty said scowling. As much as he wanted this white kid off of his lawn… he knew better than to step on his sister toes.

They closed their windows back, and Bianca turned back towards Stanton. "You can keep playing carino," she said smiling down at him. Stanton nodded and turned the music back up. "Let me know where your arms get tired…"

"They already are. But if I don't hold this thing up for at least five more minutes and Cayenne hears about it she's going to kill me," he explained. "Any chance your dad is going to let me come inside and rest my arms after I finish?"

She rolled her eyes. "I'll let you in," she said sitting on the window seal. "What other songs do you have on there?" she asked.

"They're all from movies you like…"

"Aw, that's so sweet," she said. "Looks like you can be romantic when you really want to be. Did you ask your mama for help?"

He nodded. "Yeah," he admitted. "I'm sorry I'm not naturally romantic."

"Yeah, you're really not good at it," she said. "But, even if you're terrible at it, seeing you try and make the effort anyway is pretty sweet."

Stanton shrugged. "You're worth it."

A/N: First of a few commissions I have for Princesscallyie! She dropped quite a bit of coin and asked I make some cute one-shots. She said I could write what I wanted and I just thought the idea of an slightly older Stanton and Bianca would be a nice fic. Stanton is still completely hopeless when it comes to things like this, but he tries. Hope you guys enjoyed!

And props to anyone who can name the song without looking it up!
