"Nice catch boy! Good job!" Lacerta said, smiling as he watched Hati drag the large kill he'd brought back from his run. The wolf dropped it in front of him and barked happily when his owner scratched him behind the ears. Hati always brought the biggest game he could back to the castle to show him. "Let's go get ma to cook this."

He reached down to pick up the buck when he suddenly sensed something coming. He smirked before standing back up and looking towards the castle gates, where he spotted Nenet making her way inside of the courtyard. "Well well, look what the cast dragged-"

"If you finish that sentence I'll sock ya in the mouth," she warned, popping her knuckles. Ever since he had heard that joke on Earth he thought he was being clever by saying it. She got enough of that tired old cliche without him adding to it.

He chuckled as she walked over and patted Hati. The wolf snorted, but let her keep scratching. On one hand she was a feline, which made him weary. On the other she was only on friendly terms with Lacerta, so he didn't want to be openly hostile. "I see ya big bad wolf brought back some lunch. You having raw buck today?" she asked.

"First of all it's a Bull-buck, and second of all I'm gonna cook it first obviously. They taste like shit raw," he said as he rolled the large animal hybrid over onto its back. "But anyway, what are you doing here? Your god lady boss sent you on another errand, or you just couldn't keep yourself away from me again? Because I'm up for a fight or tussle in the sheets."

Nenet rolled her eyes. "No, I'm not here on a job. And get over yourself ya hot head. I'm not here to see you. I'm looking for your brother," she said before pulling out a bag of jerky from her jacket. That had gotten Hati's attention, and the wolf sat up eagerly as she held the strip of meat over him.

He raised an eyebrow. "Cetus?"

"What? No. The other one," she said as Hati jumped up and snapped the jerky from her hand.

"Dorado?" he asked, almost as if he was offended by it. "What the hell for?"

"None of your business," she said, crossing her arms. "So is he here or not? I got some shit to take care of back home so I need to hurry."

Lacerta grunted and then nodded towards the castle. "He's inside talking with my old man I think." He had just gotten back from a mission and he always wanted to 'debrief' him on everything that happened. Lacerta didn't know why he couldn't just wait until dinner. He was such a boy scout.

Nenet gave him a mock salute. "Good to know. Catch ya later hot head," she said making her way off.

Lacerta hummed and brought his arm back, giving her a smack on the rear as she walked by. "Try not to let my brother bore you to death," he said. She waved back at him, and he looked down in thought as she left. He couldn't figure out just what the hell she would be looking for Dorado for.

There wasn't any reason he could think of that she shouldn't have been able to let him in on, so what was the deal? Well, it wasn't like it was actually a big deal or anything. Just a weird one off thing.

Lacerta didn't consider himself the jealous type. He didn't have a need to be. He was a badass, the strongest around, and he sure as hell didn't have any problems with the ladies either. Plus being jealous just wasn't a manly thing to be. That was something chicks did. But he'd be lying if he said he hadn't been irked by what was happening lately.

Nenet coming by the castle wasn't exactly new. She stopped by plenty. But it seemed like the last couple of times she'd come by just to see his brother, which was weird. The first time was a coincidence. The second time, weird, but hey. But the third, fourth, and fifth? Something was going on, and he wanted to know what.

Every time he tried to get it out of Nenet herself, she just found a way to dodge the question, or just blew him off entirely. He tried to get some answers from his brother next, but Dorado wasn't saying anything either. He kept on saying it was nothing, but he wasn't at all convincing. He'd never been a good liar, and this case wasn't an exception.

He'd tried tailing them to see what was going on, but they always seemed to just freaking vanish whenever they met up. Which was weird, since he should have been able to sense his brother in particular from pretty much anywhere. What the hell were they getting up to?

There was no way they were smashing were they? His brother didn't even go that far with Wisteria or that goddess he was running around with, and they were throwing themselves at him. He couldn't smell Nenet on him either, or vice versa. So what was the deal? He wanted answers, and he was starting to get more and more pissed off about not getting them.

He sat on one of the outer walls of the castle, a scowl on his face as Hati slept a few feet away. Maybe he should just ask Aqua to find out for him. She knew pretty much everything that went on in this place. And even if she didn't she knew how to use that All-Seeing Eye spell. She'd probably want something in exchange for it though. She could be a demanding little brat when it came down to it.

"Yo, what's going on with you, hot head?"

Lacerta looked over his shoulder and then saw Nenet approaching. Damn, he had been so wrapped up in his thoughts he hadn't even noticed she was here. He snorted and looked back out towards the fields beyond the castle. "Are you here looking for my brother again?" he asked, with more than a little bitterness in his voice.

Nenet didn't seem to pick up on it though. "Nah, not this time," she said leaning forward on his head. "Was looking for you. Which is usually easy. Surprised I didn't find you wrecking or lighting something on fire. Slow day today?" she asked, amused.

Lars grunted. "Guess I'm not as good at ghosting people as you and my brother are," he said.

Nenet raised an eyebrow at him. "Scuse me? What's that supposed to mean exactly?"

He shrugged his shoulders. "I'm just saying you and him have been real cozy as of late. I couldn't find either of you anywhere when you ran off together. You were freaking harder to find than Rain when she comes over to start making a fuss towards us to play hide and seek with her," he said.

Nenet smirked down towards him. "If I didn't know any better I'd say ya were jealous."

Lars grit his teeth and looked up at her. "I am not jealous…"

"You sound like it."

"Well I'm not. I just didn't think you were the type to go and fall for that whole charming prince shit," he said waving his hand. "Then again, Wisteria fell for that shit too. So I guess all girls like that whole sweep you off your type crap."

Nenet scoffed. "Are you serious right now?" she asked, annoyed. "What the hell are you bitching about? I visited Dorado a few times instead of you. You don't have to be so whiny about it."

"I'm not being whiny," the young redheaded titan growled angrily. "If you wanna waste your time cozying up with him that's fine. No skin on my nose."

Nenet crossed her arms and laughed. "Wow, you insecure shallow dick. You really think me and your brother were doing stuff like that just because we didn't invite you? You got a king sized ego, I'll give you that," she said.

Lacerta got up and narrowed his eyes. "Of fuck off! I didn't say you guys were knocking boots or anything, he's too much of a wimp for that! But why the hell else would you be hanging around him?!" he snapped.

Nenet glared back at him. "None of your fucking business, that's what! If I wanna hang with you brother, then I'll hang with your brother! And I don't have to tell you shit about why either!" she said.

"Good, because I don't wanna fuckin know anyway!"

"Then why ya bitchin' about it!"

"Oh fuck you, I'm not bitching!"

"No, no fuck me, fuck you!"

"Fuck YOU!"

Hati looked back and forth between the two as they shouted at one another, the temperature rising around them both. The wolf grunted and then decided to go back to sleep. He wasn't going to get a snack out of this, so it was none of his concern. If his owner wanted him to chase the feline away he would give the order.

Lars and Nenet kept glaring at one another, and then Nenet suddenly reached behind her back. "I shouldn't even have bought you this shit!" she said, throwing it at him as she was trying to put it through his chest.

He managed to catch it, and then looked at it confused. "The hell is this?"

"It's for you, fucker."

Lacerta stood there for a moment, and then reached down and began ripping the box open. He took it out and then saw it was… a jacket. A leather jacket. "You got me a jacket?" he asked, confused.

"Now you know why I've been hanging out with your brother. Happy now?" she asked, irritated. She was regretting the whole thing now. It was more trouble than it was worth.

"What does getting me a jacket have to do with you hanging out with him?" he asked, confused. He wasn't connecting the dots here.

"It's a gift. Your brother was helping me pick it out," she explained. "I thought it would be nice to get you something. And since I ain't the best at picking out gifts I got your brother and Cindy to help me out. But if I knew you were gonna be such an asshole about it, I would have just saved me money."

Lacerta looked back and forth between her and the jacket. Picking out a gift? That's why she'd been hanging out with Dorado? "You've gotta be shitting me… this is seriously what you've been doing?" he asked.

"If you don't fucking want it then give it back."

"I didn't say I didn't want it… but you do know if I wear this I'm gonna burn through it in like a day right?"

"No you won't. It's special. It's made of vibranium. Super rare shit on Earth. You're not burning through that," she said. "I thought since you're always working on missions and helping me out on Earth sometimes you could use a gift. I know you don't always get credit for it so… ya know, just trying to be thankful and shit."

"Huh…"

There was a long awkward silence between the two. Nenet looked at him expectantly, and Lacerta just stared back with a blank expression. "Well, thanks!"

He turned to leave, but she reached out and grabbed the back of his collar. "Oh hell no! I think you owe me something ya damn hot head!" she snapped.

"Alright, alright, fine. I might have jumped the gun," he said, scowling. "So sorry."

"Might have?"

"I'm apologizing damn it. This is a rare thing, so cut me some slack," he said. "Anyway it's sort of a badass gift. So thanks and all that crap. And sorry again. Should have known better than to think my brother and you were clicking. He wouldn't even know what to do with you."

Nenet clicked her tongue before punching him in his side. "You're welcome. And yeah, you should have. Don't be such a baby next time I don't come running just to see you every time I swing by mewni," she said. "Your brother is cute and all. But he totally isn't my type. I'd rather hang with you."

Lacerta hummed to himself. He wasn't used to hearing that. It wasn't like he had any trouble with the ladies, but more often than not girls tended to swoon all over Dorado's whole noble prince thing. It was weird hearing someone outright say they preferred him over Dorado. "I mean, obviously. Just look at me."

Nenet scoffed and punched him again. "Cocky dick."

"Speaking of which, I got some energy to burn. And I should thank you for the jacket."

"You damn well better. You know, you're actually kind of adorable when you're all jealous like that."

Lacerta grunted before lifting Nenet and throwing her over his shoulder. "I don't do adorable. Now c'mon. Gift or not, I'm gonna take out you ditching me on your ass," he said, giving her bottom a smack as he carried her off.
