When Nenet had gotten to mewni and sensed that the King's Crew was gathered together, she had planned on tracking them down and seeing what trouble they were getting into. But before she had gone off, something else ended up catching her interest. She had sensed Bergljot was back at the castle, which was weird.
With Lacerta being assigned as her guide, the two were usually always glued together these days. So out of curiosity she ended up swinging by to see just why she had decided to sit out whatever the boys were up to. When she got there she was surprised to see that she was in the courtyard… trying to fly?
The redhead's face was locked in concentration as she hovered above the ground, a steady stream of flames shooting from the bottom of her feet and the palms of her hands. Nenet hummed and tilted her head as she approached. "Ya learning how to fly?" she asked.
Bergljot grunted as she kept trying to steady herself. She had sensed the young titan coming, but she was trying to keep her concentration. "Be quiet. I need to focus," she said, annoyed. Turning the flames down enough just to hover and keeping them steady was something she could handle, but it was easier without someone yapping in her ear. Usually the someone was Lacerta, but he was out right now.
Nenet clicked her tongue. "Yeah, I can tell. Face all scrunched up like ya about to take a shit," she said amused. Bergljot glared towards her, and Nenet raised her hand. "Ah relax. I was just gonna offer you a little advice. Since you look like you're struggling and all. But if you don't want my help then-"
"I don't," Bergljot said bluntly.
Nenet narrowed her eyes, and then shrugged her shoulders and then just stepped back and watched. Bergljot flew higher into the air, flying towards the towers of the castle. She tried to move and maneuver around them, but her movements looked sort of janky. She clearly wasn't moving like she wanted to, and there were a few times where she almost slammed into the side of the castle tower.
She managed to slow down and land on a window seal, closing her eyes and groaning in frustration as she tried to think of what she was doing wrong. She could picture how she wanted to move, but no matter how much effort she put into it she couldn't seem to do it. "Damn it, what am I doing wrong?"
"I could tell you." Bergljot looked over her shoulder and saw Nenet hovering in the air behind her, a smirk on her face. "I kind of know how to do this, so if you wanted to actually, you know, ask for help, I could lend you a hand."
Bergljot narrowed her eyes at the other girl. "Why?"
Nenet raised an eyebrow. "Ugh, because that's what friends do. Help each other out and shit. If this isa pride thing I ain't gonna think any less of you or anything. Just trying to help," she explained.
Bergljot was honestly surprised, both by Nenet considering them friends, and her willingness to help. She didn't like asking for help. It felt like it was a sign of weakness, and she usually was able to get things on her own. But she had been at this for a while, and she hadn't been making any leeway. So as much as she hated to do it, she would ask for help just this once. "What do you suggest?"
"Well first of all, relax," she said simply. "You're too damn stiff."
"What?" Bergljot asked. "I'm focusing."
"You're tensing up," Nenet said. "Firepower ain't the problem. You got enough to propel yourself and ya seem like ya know how to adjust your speed and all that. But you're so freaking tense that there's no way that you're going to be able to move like you want. If you want to be able to move more freely you gotta loosen up. Just watch," she said.
Nenet zipped off, heading towards one of the towers and easily moving around it. She flew right alongside the wall, zipping downwards in a spiral motion as Bergljot watched. It was clear the girl had the perfect amount of firepower and control. She probably would have crashed into the wall by now if she had tried something like this.
When she was about halfway down, Nenet flew back up to meet the redhead. "See, you just gotta relax," she said as she spun around and then flew. "The more laid back you are, the easier it'll be for you to move through the air. It'll almost be like swimming."
"I don't know how to swim…"
"Damn girl, what the hell do you actually do for fun? Besides, like killing things?"
Bergljot grunted. "Whatever. So I just have to relax," she said as she narrowed her eyes in concentration. Relaxing was something simple. She could do it easily. She just had to-
"Ah, you're fucking up already," Nenet said shaking her head.
"What?!" Bergljot asked, annoyed.
"I said relax, and you look like you're getting even more tense than before. Stop trying so hard. Just like… take a deep breath, and let go."
"Let go of what?"
"Oh for fucks…" This was going to be a bit more tricky than she thought. "Okay, how about this? Just take a breath, roll your shoulders back, and untense your muscles."
Bergljot looked skeptical, but eventually decided to do as told. She exhaled and rolled her shoulders back, letting her muscles relax. Nenet nodded. "Cool, now just fly forward and-" Before she could finish, Bergljot jetted forward and went flying right into one of the towers. Nenet blinked and just looked after her. "It's just zero or a hundred with you, ain't it?" she muttered.
"Man, that was so boring," Dagon complained. "I thought that was supposed to be a tough mission. Those guys folded like beach chairs."
"Having an easy mission isn't usually something to be complained about," Pavo pointed out. He for one didn't have any complaints about breezing through a job. As long as it got done and King Astro was happy, what did it matter?
"It's the challenge of it, man! What's the point of going on with these things if there's no challenge?!" Dagon said before turning to Lacerta. "You know what I mean, right boss?"
Lacerta grunted. "It's not like I wanted things to go wrong, but I could have used a little excitement. Still, we got it done so the old man can't complain," he said.
"And the most important thing is that the nearby village is safe, right?" Raza added.
"Yeah. You know how tricky those damn malchemist can be. If they start getting into the people's ears and filling their heads with their bullshit then… do you hear that?" Lacerta asked, suddenly stopping.
The others stopped alongside him. "Ugh, I don't hear anything," Raza said, confused.
The redheaded titan held his hand up and then kept making his way towards the castle. He couldn't help but wonder if his ears were playing tricks on him, but… he heard grunting, and a lot of it. "I think I do hear something actually," Pavo said as they got closer.
"This isn't working."
"Because you've got to get more loose."
"I'm as loose as I'm going to get. I just can't bend that way."
"Yes you can, just… look, see?"
Lacerta instantly recognized the voices around the corner. He thought he had sensed Nenet earlier, but he'd been in the thick of battle and hadn't paid much mind to it. Just what the hell was she doing here with Bergljot?
"There you go. Now just put your hands there and…"
The boys all heard Bergljot groaning, and Dagon's eyes went wide. Were they doing what it sounded like they were doing? Ak Raza's face was turning bright red, and Pavo just hummed. "Well, I totally called which way Bergljot swings…" the incubus muttered.
"This hurts."
"It won't in a little bit, just keep reaching."
"Why are you pushing down there?"
"I'm just trying to help-"
"No freaking way!"
Lacerta slid around the corner, followed quickly by Dagon. Raza peeked around slowly, his hands over his face, and Pavo just casually strolled towards them. There was no way they were doing what they sounded like they were. Out in the open where everyone could see and hear them? They couldn't be… stretching?
Nenet and Bergjlot looked at the boys confused. Bergljot was sitting on the ground stretching forward, while Nenet was behind her pushing her shoulders. "Oh, you guys are back… what the hell ya looked so shocked for?" Nenet asked.
"God dang it!" Dagon cursed angrily.
Lacerta snorted. "Seriously? That's totally a buzzkill. What are you two even doing?" he asked. He thought since the mission was boring that maybe he's caught a break and would at least get to see a show.
"We're stretching so we can loosen up. What the hell ya think we were doing?" Nenet asked, raising an eyebrow.
Raza looked down nervously. "Well, we kind of thought you were… from around the corner it sort of sounded like you two might-"
"We thought you were having sex," Pavo stared bluntly. "Needless to say, we're a little disappointed. Myself because I still have to wait to get my fifty gold coins from Dagon."
Bergljot looked confused, while Nenet scoffed. "You've got to be kidding. No way I'd… huh, well…" She looked down at Bergljot who was getting up from the ground and then rubbed her chin. "Maybe."
Lacerta chuckled and smirked at the thought, while Dagon looked like he was mentally putting together the scene in his head. Raza's face grew even darker, and Pavo… didn't really react at all. It wasn't as if he hadn't seen anything like that at his grandfather's brothel, so he wasn't really all that flustered by it.
Nenet looked amused by their reactions, and then turned to look up at Raza. "And by the way big guy, if ya really wanted to get a look, no need to be shy about it. If you're dying for a show all you have to do is ask," she said, winking at him. The goliath looked even more flustered and buried his hands in his face, and Nenet laughed.
"Seriously? Man the hell up dude," Dagon said, shaking his head.
Lacerta smirked and crossed his arms. "You know, I'd be willing to bet if I left you two alone for too long it'd happen anyway. I mean without me there it only makes sense that you start trying to comfort each other to fill the void right?" he said laughing.
Bergljot narrowed her eyes while Nenet scoffed. "Yeah right. You'd lose your damn mind if we started going at it. You flipped ya shit out of jealousy when I was hanging with your brother, remember?" she said, smirking.
Lacerta scowled down at her. "Did not. And that's totally different anyway." Imagining her and his brother together felt unnatural and just plain gross. Imagining her and Bergljot together… well, that was something else entirely. "Besides, you'd never be able to replace this. My skills in the sack can't be imitated."
"What skills are you supposed to use in a sack?" Bergljot asked.
"It's a figure of speech Bergljot. It means… ugh, being intimate," Raza explained.
"It means smashing!" Dagon shouted.
"Smashing what?" the redhead asked.
"Seriously?"
Pavo just clicked his tongue and watched them go on. He was an actual Incubus, so it wasn't as if he couldn't have thrown his two cents in. but it was fun watching them ramble on about this. Like watching big frogs in a small pond compare sizes.
"So who's gonna give this chick the talk?" Nenet asked. "It ain't gonna be me. I get enough of that shit on the other end at home."
