IZUKU POV
"What do you think about a wedding in the winter? Just imagine a blanket of white snow and trees stripped of their leaves as our backdrop."
"No."
"You're right, winter is too cold for an outside wedding. Oh what about summer? I could have a modern wedding dress that allows for more movement."
"No."
"Yeah that makes sense, summers are too hot and it would ruin my fair complexion. Spring would always work, we could have a ceremony under the cherry blossoms just as they bloom. The symbolism of our relationship blooming into its next phase would be beautiful."
"No."
"Yeah, that's definitely too cliché. We could do a traditional wedding during the fall?"
"No."
"Yeah, I don't like that idea either. Picking the right time to have a wedding is difficult."
The entire car ride Mama Joke had been putting out different ideas of when to have their wedding while flipping through a giant folder. With each and every idea she put out he became more annoyed. Kyoka and I decided it was best to stay quiet so we didn't add more fuel to the flame. We slowly began to lose interest as we scrolled through our phones.
"Hey Jirou, have you ever thought about future wedding plans?"
My interest in the conversation had peaked. Looking over I saw Kyoka look away with a slight blush as she tapped her jacks together. "The thought may have crossed my mind a few times."
Mama Joke turned around quickly. "Do share, I need some more ideas."
"It's nothing big, I just wanted to have some good bands there."
Mama Joke pouted at her answer. "You haven't thought about a location?"
Kyoka's face turned a deep red as she looked out the window. "There's nothing to think about, I already know where it's going to be."
"Tell me, tell me, tell me!" She was practically coming out of her seat.
As curious as I was to know where she had decided I figured a change of topic was needed. "Mama Joke, why do you still call her by her last name?"
She turned her gaze towards me before thinking. "I don't know, it never crossed my mind." She turned back to Kyoka who was still blushing pretty hard. "Do you mind?"
Kyoka shook her head. "I wouldn't mind at all."
Being momentarily satisfied she turned back around and continued to flip through her folder while humming quietly to herself. It was good to see her so happy… even if there wasn't going to be a wedding.
When we finally reached Kyoka's house we were all surprised to once again see her parents waiting outside. This time they didn't have a confused expression, instead they were all smiles. I was thankful that there wasn't an awkward interaction this time. Just as we were all heading in I felt a pull on my shoulder.
Mika was giving me a knowing smile. "Have you been enjoying the sleeping arrangements?"
A nervous laugh escaped my lips. "I… uh… yes?"
Her smile turned playful. "There's no need to be nervous, my husband doesn't know."
I let out a sigh of relief. "Oh thank God."
She looked at me rather surprised. "Are you actually scared of my husband?"
"Not at all, it's just the last time he threatened to cut off a certain area. Any guy with half a brain would be worried."
She cocked an eye at me. "Yet you're surprisingly calm when it comes to me… interesting."
I scratched the back of my head before looking at Kyoka who was already in the door. "Yeah, I guess I know I can't hide anything from you, so there's no need to be nervous. Also you and Kyoka are very similar so it actually gives me a sense of relief."
She couldn't help but smile at my answer. "Look at you trying to earn brownie points."
I couldn't help but laugh. "Guilty as charged, I need to earn back points somehow after everything."
"I see my daughter is training you."
"She's trying her best."
Mika started to smirk at me. "Speaking of Kyoka, she seems to be in an extremely good mood. You could almost say she's glowing."
"It's probably because we made a major step towards our future."
I turned to the door and was about to make my way towards it, but Mika placed her hand on my shoulder and pulled down my collar revealing the hickey Kyoka left on me. "That turtleneck doesn't hide as much as you think."
Gulping nervously I quickly turned to face her again. "Well you see, it's a funny story."
Her smirk grew larger as she let go of my collar. "I'm sure it is, care to explain what you've been doing with my daughter?"
"We've just been listening to The Beach Boys."
Mika started to laugh at my answer. I hoped it was a good answer. I would think it's safe to assume that she was the one that put the idea into Kyoka's head, but if that was the case I still had one question. Why would she suggest that to two hormonal teenagers?
She wiped a stray tear from her eye. "Oh my, that was great, I needed that Midoriya."
"You know you can use my first name."
She looked at me surprised. "Well that was out of the blue."
I shrugged. "Not really, Mama Joke started using Kyoka's first name today, so I figured you should as well. That's if you want to."
She narrowed her eyes as she thought for a moment. "And what about my husband?"
Stopping to think I looked into the sky. "I'd probably have to go with not yet on him."
Her eyes narrowed on me more. "And why is that?"
I broke out into a huge grin as I looked back at her. "Because it's fun to mess with him."
Her eyes softened as she smiled. "I see my daughter is training you exceptionally well. Welcome to the family Izuku."
I was caught off guard as she brought me into a quick hug. "I can honestly say I wasn't expecting that."
She gave me a sly smile as she let go of me. "The hug or the family part?"
"Both."
She shrugged with her jacks as she started to head towards the door. "I wouldn't read much into it." She suddenly came to a stop before turning towards me. "Actually on second thought I wouldn't mind if you-"
Before she could finish, Mama Joke interrupted us. "Hey Mika, I need some help planning my wedding. Want to help?"
In an instant Mika was on her way in the house. "You're getting married, since when?"
Mama Joke started to laugh. "He hasn't proposed yet, but if I get a date set that should stop him from dragging his feet."
The two of them made their way inside and started to discuss plans. After they had disappeared Kyoka poked her head out to see me standing in the front yard still confused.
I wasn't surprised when she started to laugh at me. "Why are you standing out there?"
I shook my head before heading towards the door. "Sorry your mom and I were just having a little chat."
She narrowed her eyes. "About what?"
I laughed while putting a hand on her head. "Nothing serious, she did tell me that the turtleneck isn't hiding anything."
She sighed before closing the door behind me. "God Dammit."
Once we had all gathered inside and calmed down, it was time to eat. The conversation during the meal was mostly Pops trying to convince both Mama Joke and Mika that there would be no wedding in the near future. Mika could obviously see he was telling the truth, but Mama Joke was Mama Joke so she was going to keep pushing forward.
After we had all finished eating Kyoka's parents started to ask about everything that happened during the exam.
Mika rested her chin on her hands as she leaned on the table. "So what all went into the Licensing Exam?"
Kyoka and I looked at each other before snickering. Even Pops had an amused look on his face while Mama Joke sulked. Even if she was glad we passed she wasn't exactly happy that her entire class failed… because of us.
"It wasn't anything too crazy, just your standard to part exam. Only the first hundred students passed the first portion and then the second was a rescue mission that was point based."
Mika smirked at us, she could tell I wasn't telling her everything. "Is that all? I'd expect it to be more."
I shrugged while taking a sip of my drink. "I mean there were about seven hundred students at the testing site. You could say it was highly competitive."
Her and Kyotokus' eyes widened. "I think that's an understatement."
"They actually all finished in the top thirty of the first portion."
Kyoka turned to Pops, surprised. They never told us that, but I assumed it was around that based on how many people were in the break area when we arrived.
Mika couldn't contain her smile. "Emi, how did your class do?"
Mama Joke scratched her head nervously before looking away. "They didn't make it out of the first round."
Mika looked at her shocked. "Really? What happened?"
Mama Joke sent a glare at me. "Izuku happened."
Both Kyotoku and Mika looked at me surprised. I gave them a cheesy smile before Kyotoku sighed. "I'm not exactly sure I want to know, but what did you do?"
I couldn't contain my snickering which drew a few odd looks. Thankfully Kyoka was able to keep it together. "One of her students essentially picked a fight with Izuku. Naturally Izuku released an explosive blonde with anger issues on him."
Kyotoku nodded at the explanation. "I see, but why didn't you handle it yourself?"
"I didn't feel like it, I figured my time would be better spent setting up a strategy for the other schools that were coming for us. If I'm being honest, they got off pretty easy."
"Like hell they did!" Mama Joke interrupted. "On the way back to the school some of my kids were shaking while mumbling about a blonde demon."
I sighed with a smile. "Oh the memories." Kyoka sent a quick jab into my ribs as she glared at me. I guess she didn't like me thinking back to the days of bullying. Shaking my head I turned back to Mama Joke. "Would you have preferred them to come face to face with an actual demon bird that rules the night?"
Mama Joke sucked her teeth. "I would have preferred them to not have targeted you. They definitely would have passed."
Mika started to giggle. "Well there's always next time."
Mama Joke let out a reluctant sigh. "Yeah, you're right."
"I think they lucked out, they didn't have to fight Gang Orca or get shot by cement guns."
Kyotoku looked at me completely confused. "You've lost me."
Kyoka sighed. "It's not that complicated dad, the rescue portion took place after a villian attack. During the rescue the villain came back. Izuku just so happened to be in the area where he attacked."
I playfully rolled my eyes at Kyoka. "Yeah, thanks for sending me into the fray. Do you know how annoying it is to move covered in that stuff?"
She shook her head. "It's not my fault you couldn't dodge them.."
"No, but you did send me to take a child to the rescue area. Did you forget that we have Iida who's whole shtick is running fast?"
"Of course not, I just… I just…" Kyoka looked away embarrassed while I laughed.
Pops cleared his throat to get our attention. "As entertaining as the lovers' quarrel is, I think it would be best to stop."
After Kyoka and I apologized, our evening continued without too many issues. It was good seeing her parents get along with Pops and Mama Joke. The only thing that would have been nicer was Mama Joke and Mika had laid off on a few of the stories. Sadly the night had to come to an end. We did have class the next day so Kyoka and I did need to be back on campus at a decent time.
As we were getting ready to leave Mika pulled me aside again. "I think we need to finish our conversation from earlier."
I nervously laughed as I saw everyone else making their way outside. "Which part?"
As mischievous as her smile was, it had a soft side that was comforting. "Even if it's not official, you're more than welcome to call me mother or even mom."
That had completely blindsided me. I was expecting a lot of things from her, but that was not one of them. In situations like this I found it best to take Mama Jokes advice, 'When you're nervous, make a joke.'
"I don't know, it sounds kind of kinky."
Her smile turned into a smirk. "No, it's only kinky if you say mommy."
I felt a chill run down my spine. I was in a dangerous situation. My only hope of getting out of her would be if Kyoka didn't hear any of this.
"I'm sorry, can either one of you explain what the fuck I just walked in on?"
"Fuck you universe."
Kyoka was glaring a hole through me, while Mika just laughed to herself. The sound of her jacks tapping the wall began to quicken. "Izuku, what is going on?"
"I… uh… well." I was at a loss for words. All my years of therapy with Ms. Midnight never prepared me for anything like this.
"Calm down sweetie, Izuku and I were just discussing what he would call you after you have children."
Kyoka's eyes shot to her mother. "Yeah, nice try, but I heard everything."
Her mom matched her gaze. "Then why did you ask?"
Kyoka's eyes narrowed. "Didn't I tell you not to bring up that topic?"
The tension between the two of them was palpable. The women of the Jirou household were terrifying. I know I had made this mental note before, but I found it appropriate to make it again. Don't piss off either of these women. Before I could make a move one of Kyoka's jacks wrapped around my throat and started to pull me towards the door.
"We're leaving now. Goodbye."
Mika smiled innocently while waving. "Do come back soon Izuku."
I waved back at her nervously as I croaked out a goodbye. "See ya later, Mama Mika."
It was slight, but Kyoka did loosen the tightness of her jack as she dragged me to the car. Even if I couldn't see it, I was certain she had a faint smile the entire time.
KYOKA POV
"No."
"It needs to be done."
"No."
"This is our last chance."
"No."
"I'm gonna do it."
"I swear to God Izuku, if you pull it out, I will shove my jack so far up it that it's going to whistle every time you take a step."
Izuku was laying on my bed grumbling to himself about how stupid this entire situation was. I did agree with him on that, but that was the only thing we agreed on right now.
While on our way back to campus, Pops had told us that this week we would be talking about potential work studies. Was it fair that we got certain inside information? Probably not, but this was an optional thing so we didn't care much. Sadly this wasn't the reason for our current argument. When we were told the Big Three would be explaining to us what all goes into a work study Izuku wasn't thrilled.
I didn't get why he was upset at first. The three of them seemed nice enough. Sure they had their own things that made them a little odd, but everyone does. It wasn't till we got back to the dorms that Izuku told me the real reason he wasn't looking forward to it. Izuku apparently had a gut feeling that Togata would suggest a demonstration of the difference of our skills. I thought that would be helpful, but Izuku was more concerned about me seeing another guy naked before I saw him.
"Izuku, what's the big deal? It's not like I want to see it, hell we don't even know if he's allowed to fight us."
He sat up and looked at me shocked. "What are you talking about!? It is a big deal!"
I rolled my eyes at him. "You don't see me getting mad whenever you stare at Momo's tits."
"That is completely different!"
I stared at him with a dropped jaw. "How the hell is that any different?!"
"Everyone stares at Yaomomo's tits! She even stares at them!"
"Oh yeah, that's supposed to make everything better."
"Doesn't it?"
"No it doesn't Izuku!"
He took a deep breath before sighing. "Look Kyoka, I just think that you should see your boyfriend's dick first."
I narrowed my eyes on him. "You say that, yet you saw Momo's boobs before mine."
"That is a completely different situation. First off we weren't dating then and second it was an accident."
"That doesn't make it any better!"
"I'm sorry, why exactly did you two call me in here and why is my chest such a hot topic?"
I turned to her slightly annoyed. "It should be pretty obvious why?"
She cocked an eye at me. "Not really, the only things that you've talked about since I got here are Midori's dick, some other guys dick, and my chest."
Izuku sighed before turning to Momo. "We're going to be talking about work studies this week. Pops is going to have a few third years explain what all goes into them. I'm certain one of them will want to fight us and it's not pretty when he does."
"Alright… but that doesn't explain why genitalia is the main focus of your argument."
"The person he's referring to is able to phase through objects… including his clothes."
Momo looked at the two of us before groaning in annoyance. "You two are absolutely ridiculous! Honestly, I'm not sure who is being more childish."
Izuku and both pointed at each other at the same time. "He is/She is."
"My point exactly." She began to rub her temples. "What is going to be accomplished by this? Does it really make a difference who she's seen first?"
"I guess it doesn't, but that doesn't mean I have to be ok with it."
"I can work with that." Momo turned to me. "Don't you have something to say now?"
"You're going to be a great godmother Momo."
She let out another sigh before sinking into her chair. "That's not exactly what I was going for and I don't remember ever saying I was religious, but I guess I'll take what I can."
Izuku snickered at her. "Wow, I was hoping for an over the top reaction from that."
"Did you want me to squeal in excitement or reprimand you because it's insinuating that you knocked Kyo up?"
Izuku tilted his head back and forth as he thought. "Either one would have been fine."
Momo started to stand up. "Well if that's all you needed, I'm going to forget this conversation ever happened."
"Actually there's something I wanted to tell the two of you."
Momo looked at me as I shrugged. Her expression softened as she sat back down. So much had happened recently that I had no clue what he could want to tell us. The only thing that came to my mind was the day in the park when he was about to tell me something.
I sat on my bed next to Izuku before wrapping my jack around his arm. "Is everything alright?"
He nodded. "Yeah, I just don't know how exactly to say this."
"It's alright, no need to rush."
His heart rate was slowly increasing as he kept his eyes on the edge of the bed. His hand found its way to mine and I gave him a reassuring squeeze. "I don't know if I'm going to be a hero."
All the air felt like it had just been sucked out of the room. Surprisingly it wasn't Izuku's hand that was trembling… It was mine.
"Are you serious Izuku?"
"I'm not certain yet, it's just something I've been thinking about recently."
A mixture of emotions were welling up inside me. Anger, happiness, confusion, relief, and pain all formed into a cocktail of questions that caused my head to spin.
"Why? Why would you decide that now of all times?"
He looked at me confused. "I haven't decided on anything yet, I'm just thinking about it."
I pulled my hand and jack away from him. "Why though? You just got a provisional license! You made it into one of the hardest hero schools in the nation! Why didn't you think about something like this two years ago? Was this really your dream if after a few months you can think about dropping it all?! Can you give me back the two years you took away from me?!"
He looked away from me before scraping his knuckles across his wrist. I could hear his breathing and heartbeat starting to become erratic. I wasn't concerned though. If he really could give up on something this dream that easily then I wanted him to return the time he took and take back the pain.
Izuku wasn't able to give me an answer and it hurt. All he was able to do was sit in silence while looking away. I had enough for the night and started to leave when Momo stopped me. I sent a glare her way, but she refused to let go of my arm. After a stare down I reluctantly sat down next to her.
"Midori, what do you mean by you're not going to be a hero? Based on everything I've seen and heard this doesn't make much sense."
Izuku kept looking away but stopped scratching his wrist. "It's not that I don't want to be a hero, it's just I think there is something that I could make a bigger impact in. Also I wouldn't give up on being a hero. It just wouldn't be my main focus."
Momo gave him an amused smile before laughing to herself. "I see, so you're thinking about doing something like that."
"Yeah, more or less."
I looked between the two confused. "What are you two talking about?"
Momo stood up before placing a hand on my shoulder. "Everything will be fine. Just hear him out."
I narrowed my eyes on her before sighing. "Fine."
She gave me a smile before reaching the door and turning towards Izuku. "When you do decide, let me know. I'll be waiting to hear what you choose. Now you two work this out like adults."
Izuku silently nodded to her as she left. With her gone we sat in silence for a minute. The tension between the two of us was high and our buffer had just left because she trusted we could handle this like adults.
Crossing my arms sucked my teeth. "How could she tell us to work this out like adults after she just called us childish?"
Izuku shrugged. "Maybe we should rethink the godmother privileges?"
"You're damn right we are. I'm sure Mina, Hagakure, Tsu, or Uraraka would be more than happy to take her place."
He looked at me with a hint of concern. "Could you really trust Mina or Hagakure with a child?"
"…. Uraraka or Tsu it is then."
We both stared at each other before laughing. After feeling the tension disappear I brought my knees up in my chair and held them.
"Izuku, what did you mean you're not sure if you want to be a hero?"
"I don't know if I want that to be my main focus. Look at Mama Joke and Pops. They're both heroes, but they're primarily teachers."
My eyes widened at his words before a soft smile spread across my face. "Why didn't you just start with that?"
He scratched his head nervously as he looked away. "I did say I wasn't sure how to say it."
I shook my head before getting up to sit next to him. "Yeah, I'm sorry for snapping at you like that."
He took my hand and kissed it. "It's fine, I would have done the same if our roles were reversed."
Resting my head on his shoulder I wrapped my jack around his arm again. "So you want to be a teacher?"
"No, I'm thinking about being a therapist."
I looked at him completely stunned. "Seriously?"
He nodded at me with a smile. "Yeah, it's something I've been discussing with Ms. Midnight for a while now."
"But why a therapist?"
"As much as I know you don't want to hear it, but Ms. Midnight has been a huge influence in my life. She was the first adult to see me as I am."
I raised an eye at him. "What about my parents, Pops, Mama Joke, or Bakugos parents?"
He shook his head. "It's different with them. It's hard to explain, but she didn't care about my past. She pushed me to make changes when others didn't want to force me to do things I wasn't ready for." He laughed to himself softly. "The first day session we had was the day we met. It barely lasted ten minutes but it felt like hours. All we talked about was what my quirk was. Looking back it was something small, but it was the first big push I needed."
Smiling was all I could do as I rested my head back on his shoulder. "You know I'm not the biggest fan of hers for a select few reasons, but I can't say I'm not grateful for her. She helped make you the man you are today."
"In more ways than one."
I sent a small vibration into his ribs. "Don't ruin the moment Izuku."
He rubbed his side before putting a hand on my head. "Sorry I couldn't help myself."
We sat in silence again before laying down on the bed. Izuku kept his arm wrapped around me as I rested my head on his chest. "Have you talked to Pops and Mama Joke yet?"
"Not yet. I will soon, but I'm just waiting for the right time."
"So I'm the first person you told?"
"Technically I told you and Yaomomo at the same time."
I pressed a jack to his lips. "Shhhh. I was the first person you told, right?"
He laughed before kissing my jack. "Yes Kyoka you were the first person I told."
His answer brought a smile to my face. "Good boy. Hey, is it safe to assume that this is what you wanted to tell me at the park that day?"
"You guessed it, but I decided to wait till after the exam. I was lucky that Yukihira and them showed up and cut me off."
I rolled my eyes playfully at him while shaking my head. "Yeah, that really was lucky. I spent the last couple of weeks wondering what you were going to say."
"You could have just asked me."
I narrowed my eyes on him. "Last time I did that you ran away."
"I'm not the same person I was back then."
I shook my head. "No you're not, but you're still Izuku."
I took my free hand and traced the scar under his eye. So much had happened in the few short months we've been here that it made me worry about what would happen in the future. It was honestly terrifying. As if he could read my mind Izuku took my hand and squeezed it as if he was saying everything would be ok. Just like that all the fears and worries were washed away. I really was becoming dependent on him.
It's fairly late now and we knew tomorrow was going to be a big day. We're getting ready to go to bed when Izuku's phone started going off. I didn't think much of it until I got comfortable in bed. Izuku's demeanor had become upset as he put his phone on the nightstand.
As he climbed into bed I put my arms around him. "Is everything alright?"
He sighed as he returned the hug. "Yeah, it was just Mirio. He just told me that he was excited to be going to his little buddies class… and that he promised to try and hold back."
I blankly blinked at him. "So he is going to fight the class."
"Yep."
"You're strangely calm given how worked up you were about this earlier."
He shrugged before he started playing with one of my jacks. "Well there's nothing I can really do, besides knowing I have you in my bed makes it easier."
I shook my head. "If I had known that's all it took earlier I would have done this sooner."
He laughed before pulling me on top of him. "You would have done this in front of Yaomomo… you naughty girl."
I gave him a smirk as I pressed on his chest to sit up. "I've already marked her so it wouldn't be anything new."
He looked at me confused. "When?"
I put a jack to my chin as I pretended to think. "This morning before the exams. When you were teasing Pops and Mama Joke I bit her to keep myself from laughing and spoiling the fun."
He stared at me blankly for a few seconds before smiling. "Kinky."
I sent a jack to his neck and teasingly sent a vibration into him. "Shut up, it's your fault I'm like this. You better take responsibility."
He took my jack and started to suck on the tip of it. "Gladly."
Biting my bottom lip I leaned into him and kissed his neck. "I know we have a big day tomorrow, but I think we've earned the right to unwind a bit. What do you think?"
He smirked at me while holding my jack. "I have a few ideas."
