KYOKA POV

"Seriously, that's the reason?"

"I know right, it completely caught me off guard."

"So you're telling me that we stressed over everything for nothing?"

Izuku laughed to himself while laying in my bed. "Guess so. Who would have guessed that it was simply because he couldn't trust me."

"That is absolutely… I mean the… How could he…" Sighing I pinched the bridge of my nose. "Izuku baby, you know how much I love you right?"

Izuku continued to laugh as he flipped to look at me. "Yes I know how much you love me. I also know that he's right."

"Oh thank God, you just made this so much easier."

He gave me a cheesy smile before patting the spot next to him. "I do my best… sometimes."

Laughing and shaking my head I made my way and laid next to him. "So now what?"

He shrugged while staring out the window. "I work and prove that he can trust me."

I gave him a curious look. "So, how exactly did you convince him to take you on?"

He nervously laughed. "If I'm being honest I felt like he was going to-"

With a quick strike from my jack Izuku came to a stop. The look he gave me was filled with annoyance before slowly turning to one of apology.

"You know you don't have to give me that look Kyoka."

"I have no clue what you're talking about."

I knew exactly what he was talking about. Even if I couldn't see my own face I could tell by his expression that my scowl was working well. I really did love him, but I was tired of him trying to hide things from me.

He laughed softly before fidgeting with his hands. "Could you please not scowl like that, you'll get wrinkles."

My eyes narrowed. I wasn't backing down from this. "I don't know, can you tell me why you tried to hide something from me again?"

"You're right, I'm sorry."

While sighing I felt my expression soften. "Izuku, what did you tell him?"

"I told him what my future plans were. He seemed to accept it, but it wasn't enough to get him to trust me. So we made him a deal."

I felt a lump form in my throat as he spoke. "What was it?"

"If he took me on then I'd tell the others at the agency the truth… and if I didn't he could go public with my secret."

Everything went quiet. Izuku's words echoed as I stared at him in disbelief. A sea of mixed emotions flooded me. I wasn't sure if he was coming to terms as he opened up to more people or if he was crazy. Should I be happy or worried? Stressed or calm? Nothing seemed to make sense at the moment. Was this really the best choice for him? I didn't have the answers and I didn't really have many people I could talk about this with. All I could do is trust him.

As I kept my eyes locked on him I noticed he had a small smile on his face. It wasn't forced or fake. It was a genuine smile. Even if his eyes held a tinge or uncertainty in them he was happy with his choice. That smile of his was something I wanted to protect and I wasn't going to let it slip away.

His smile in turn caused a soft smile to spread across my face as I leaned into him while wrapping a jack around his arm. "You're taking some big steps."

"It needs to happen faster."

A hint of concern came over me as I looked at him. "Izuku, as much as I like this go get'em attitude, there's no need to rush things. I know how hard it is for you to trust people, you don't have to force yourself."

Izuku continued to stare out the window. "Kyoka, have you ever thought about the repercussions of my choice?"

"Which one? Because I have a lot to choose from and almost all of them I've thought about."

Shaking his head he looked at me. "I'm talking about not telling people that I actually have a quirk."

I gave him an odd look. "I think of some people who might take it personally, but I'm sure most people in our class will understand and accept it."

"What about the rest of the world? Do you think they will accept it? What about the actual quirkless people that are already looking at me? What's going to happen to UA? Will the blow back ruin their reputation?"

I didn't have an answer for him. These were all new questions I'd never heard him mention before. It was unsettling how many he continued to spit out. There was only one thing that could have caused a change in his mindset. I was certain Sir Nighteye had asked him these same questions.

As Izuku continued to rattle off question after question his heartbeat quickened. His breathing became shallower and louder. Panic had set in. It had been a long time since I had seen Izuku like this, but I knew what I had to do.

Bringing his head to my chest I made sure his ear pressed against me. Staying calm I slowed my breathing to slow my heart rate.

"Everything will be alright Izuku. Just focus on my breathing and listen to my heart."

Gently stroking his hair I continued to hold him close, refusing to let go until he calmed down. His breathing returned to normal faster than I expected it to. I was glad that he had calmed down, but thankful that it didn't turn into a full blown panic attack again. All those breathing lessons I did with mom had come in handy recently.

The two of us continued to sit in silence for a while. Even with nothing being said, I could tell from his heart alone that he was no longer in a panicked state. When I felt his arms wrapped around my waist I knew he was back.

"Are you feeling better now?"

He silently nodded into me.

"Do you want to talk about it?"

He shook his head no.

We sat in silence for another minute. It was peaceful. The longer we stayed there the closer I felt Izuku lean into me. A small smirk spread across my face as I continued to play with his hair.

"Are you enjoying my chest Izuku?"

He stayed still a moment before nodding quickly. Laughing I used a jack to raise his head so he could look me in the eyes. When our eyes met I was so lost in his emerald pools that I almost missed the shit eating grin on his face.

Kissing his forehead I pushed him off of me teasingly. "It's a good thing you're cute."

He started to laugh as well before laying on his back. "Thanks for that Kyoka."

A soft smile formed as I turned to face him. "I'm just glad to be able to help."

He took my hand and rubbed his thumb on the back of it. "How did your talk with Hado go?"

"I turned her down."

Izuku smirked at me. "Alright, but what did you tell her when it came to the work study?"

Playfully rolling my eyes, I gave his forehead a flick. "Bad."

He started to laugh. "So why did you turn her down?"

Shrugging I turned his arm to see all of his scars. Slowly running a finger down it, I could feel all of them.

"I had a talk with Momo before. She said I had changed since the beginning of the year. She wasn't wrong, so I decided to act like the old me and say fuck it." I kept my eyes locked on his scared arms. "Besides, I know how you get. I know you're going to need someone to support you. It would be hard to do that if I'm also working."

Guilt could be seen in his eyes as he looked away momentarily. "Are you sure? You're putting your future a step behind for me."

Pressing my forehead against his I gave him a kiss. "The whole reason I'm here is because of you. I had no intention of being a hero until we met and you left. The whole reason I decided to be a hero was to help keep anyone from going through what you did. So as far as I'm concerned this isn't putting me behind, it's keeping right on track with you."

Smiling Izuku gave me a kiss. "Well don't work too hard."

"I'm pretty sure that's my line."

The two of us started to laugh. It had been a draining day for the both of us, but neither of us were ready to sleep. Deciding that we should be social we got up and went down to the common area. Even for a Friday evening there were still quite a few more people here than I expected. A movie was playing and everyone's attention was drawn to it.

It wasn't surprising that Momo was in the kitchen making tea. That girl really loved her tea. When her eyes met ours she quickly looked away with a blush.

Izuku gave me an odd look and spoke in a hushed tone. "What did you do?"

I gave him an innocent smile. "I have no clue what you're talking about."

As we approached Mina was the first to sense us. With a smirk she called out alerting everyone else that we had appeared. "Oh my, looks like the love birds decided to grace us with their presence."

"Please Mina, you're just jealous."

"Wow, way to expose me Mido!"

The majority of the class broke into laughter. Only a select few remained silent. I took an empty seat on the couch next to Uraraka. Izuzku stood behind us leaning on the back of the couch. A beaming smile filled with excitement was on her face.

"Congrats on the work study Midoriya!"

There was a collective gasp through the class as everyone's eyes turned to Izuku. While mentally face palming I looked up to see Izuku with an awkward smile.

"Thanks, I actually hadn't told anyone besides Kyoka about that."

Uraraka quickly covered her mouth as she turned red. "I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to spoil your secret."

Izuku laughed before putting a hand on her head. "Don't worry about it, but I hope everything goes well with your potential work study."

All eyes quickly turned to Uraraka who tried to deflect. "It's not like anything is set in stone. We just have an introduction."

"Still girl, that's awesome!" Hagakure was practically jumping in her seat. "Where are you going?"

"Hado wants to introduce Tsu, Jirou, and myself to Ryukyu. Well I guess just Tsu and I since Jirou turned her down."

"Are you serious!?"

"Why would you do that?!"

Practically everyone was bombarding me with questions. While only half paying attention, because the other half was trying to find a way to answer, I saw Momo who was smiling. She proceeded to give me a subtle nod as she sipped her tea.

"I just didn't feel like it."

The room went quiet from my answer as confusion was plastered on everyone's faces. The only ones who didn't look confused were Izuku, Momo, Uraraka, and Tsu.

"I appreciated her offer, but I was already planning on sitting out the work studies for now. Besides with Izuku doing one, I'll have my work cut out for me making sure he's taken care of."

My answer seemed to appease most of them. It even got a few laughs. I felt relieved that the situation had been diffused.

"Sounds pretty embarrassing having to have someone look after you like that, right Midoriya?"

"God Dammit."

Kaminari just had to stir the pot. His jab at Izuku earned a few laughs. Only a select few knew that he wasn't poking in good fun.

Izuku shrugged, not bothered by him. "Not as embarrassing as claiming someone as their girlfriend when they don't even like you."

The collective gasps and laughs from everyone was a good way to cover the mini showdown between Izuku and Kaminari. Given who Izuku grew up with I was certain he could have a quick comeback for anything Kaminari said; however I was worried he'd take things too far.

Kaminari, who looked irked, didn't back down. "Don't you think it's unfair that you're holding her back, because you can't take care of yourself."

The room grew quite again. Without words being said everyone knew Kaminari crossed a line. Clearing her throat, Momo was quick to step in.

"I think you're taking this too far, Kaminari. It was Jirous' choice to make."

Sensing the mood starting to turn on him, Kaminari backed down and looked as if he was about to apologize.

"No, it's fine for him to have his own opinion on the situation. Everyone is entitled to their opinions and in my opinion Kaminari is an idiot."

I looked up at Izuku and with eyes that begged him to stop. A rift between the class was something that we didn't need, especially if Izuku was planning on telling everyone the truth anytime soon.

Kaminari looked at Izuku, annoyed. "Your opinion is wrong."

Izuku's eyes turned intense. "No, your opinion is wrong. I have proof that mine is right."

The tension in the room was building and everyone could sense it. Much to everyone's surprise Bakugo was the one to step in. "You two should drop this now."

If this conversation had involved anyone other than Izuku I was certain that would have gotten them to stop. Everyone knew Bakugo had a temper, but if he was telling you to stop something was wrong.

Izuku shot a glance at him before looking back at Kaminari. "Why, we're just a couple of buddy's poking fun at each other."

"Seriously man, relax. It's not like we're going to hurt each other's feelings, besides I want to see his proof."

Izuku scoffed at him. "You mean besides your last test score?"

That comment alone earned a few laughs, but it didn't diffuse all the tension that was building.

Still annoyed, Kaminari gritted his teeth. "Yes, besides that."

Izuku chucked to himself. "I have something that is guaranteed to get a reaction from any idiot."

Kaminari took a deep breath before narrowing his eyes. "Are you gonna say it or not?"

Smirking, Izuku looked down at me before back at him. "Kaminari… I lost the game."

Everyone was confused by Izuku's statement and even more confused why he was still smirking. Kaminari just looked at Izuku, perplexed.

"What do you mean you lost the…" Everyone could practically see the lightbulb over his head light up as what Izuku said finally registered. "Oh fuck you!"

Slowly everyone else began reacting by breaking out into laughter. Izuku had taken a jab at Kaminari, proved his point, diffused the tension, and brought us all back to junior high with a single sentence. With everything having gone back to normal everyone seemed to forget that the class peace had just been balancing on a knife's edge just a minute ago.

IZUKU POV

Monday morning hadn't gone anything like I expected it to. The first thing to go wrong was thinking that I could leave quietly without waking Kyoka up. Somehow I managed to forget after everything that we'd been through that her hearing is enhanced to the extreme. That mistake alone earned me two jacks to the neck and a demonic growl of annoyance because I had woken her up earlier than she wanted.

The second thing that went wrong was that she refused to let me get up. Despite her petite figure once she gets ahold of you, she won't let go. I was honestly starting to think she might actually be part koala. When I finally was able to pry myself out of her grip I was rewarded with another two jacks to the back, because I took away her main source of warmth.

After that things started to go smoothly. I was able to change and eat breakfast without being bothered and my hero costume had been dropped off at the dorm. I was glad I didn't have to go to the classroom to get it. I was certain nothing could stop the flow of my now peaceful morning… that was until I found Mirio waiting at the front gate. That alone wasn't going to ruin my morning, hell we had planned to meet here. The thing that turned my morning around was his energy.

Mirio is normally an energetic and over the top person, but somehow that level of energy is magnified exponentially first thing in the morning. If he had told me he had done a line before meeting me, I would have believed him.

Trying to drown him out was nearly impossible. Even with noise canceling headphones he still managed to be heard. This did make me glad that it was early, since there were fewer people on the train. By the time we actually did reach the agency, I couldn't even try to zone him out. The only saving grace was the moment we entered Sirs office he went dead silent.

Sir was sitting at his desk, rifling through multiple documents. As the door finished closing he looked up at us for a moment before going back to his documents.

"I'm glad to see you both are here on time."

Mirio started to laugh as he approached the desk. "It wouldn't be good for us to be late on his first day."

"Very good." Sir put the documents he was looking at in a folder and extended them to me. "This is our current investigation. A local Yakuza group has been making some interesting moves recently. A new head was recently appointed after the old one's health took a sudden turn for the worse."

As Sir began to explain everything I was going through the documents. All the information they had was cleanly laid out. The new head was Kai Chisaki who went by the name Overhaul. His most noticeable feature was his plague doctor's mask. His quirk name was also Overhaul, it allowed him to disassemble and reassemble anything he touched with his bare hands.

"We don't have much information about Chisaki, and we have even less on the old boss. It seems that someone leaked the information, but any leads on that have gone cold."

I raised an eye as I recalled what Kyoka told me about the incident during her internship. "What about the Yakuza members that were arrested while holding up a medical distribution facility?"

Sir shook his head. "We tried them, but it turns out they had been released when their bail had been paid. We've been monitoring the compound, but they haven't been spotted."

Biting the inside of my cheek I went back to looking over the documents. "I'm guessing you suspect that foul play is involved. There are too many coincidences here."

Sir nodded as he continued to explain. "That's the most likely situation. Given his quirk it's completely in the realm of possibility that he put the old boss into a state of comatose. As of now no one is trying to stop Chisaki from taking over, but the majority don't seem to be happy. That being said, we've seen no signs of any attempted revolt."

As I listened to his explanation I couldn't shake the idea that something wasn't adding up. "Um… Sir, I know this is your agency, but why are you investigating a Yakuza power struggle? I understand they do extremely shady things, but for the most part they've all faded into nothing."

"Go to the ninth page."

The page in question contained the most recent information on the investigation. There was an accident the other day involving a group that had robbed a convenience store. According to statements taken, those involved experienced excruciating pain for a moment. After that any previous physical afflictions had disappeared, but that wasn't enough to warrant a full investigation. As I continued to read on, everything became clear as to why the investigation was started.

"He made contact with the League of Villains."

Sir simply nodded. "It's safer to say they made contact with him. After the incident last week a member who goes by the name twice approached him. Last night they had their first official meeting. It didn't end well."

Saying it didn't end well was an understatement. According to what had been put in the document there were casualties on both sides. A picture showed a run down building that had a huge hole in the wall and blood painted the floor mixed with something that resembled dust. It was obvious that this was the handiwork of the two self appointed leaders.

"Even though negotiations seemed to have fallen through, we are not ruling out the possibility that they are still going to work together. Right now Centipeder is at the scene trying to figure out more information."

"Alright, I think I understand why your agency picked up the investigation. Even with the Yakuza power seemingly gone, they still have plenty of connections."

Sir shook his head before looking up from his computer. "That's what I assumed at first, but that doesn't add up. Given the Leagues movement against UA it seems they have plenty of connections. I suspect they both want to take the other into their organization. My theory is the League is wanting strong fighters while the Yakuza is after money."

I gave Sir an odd look before reading more on the report. "Why do you think the Yakuza wants money? They should have plenty of sources for that."

"Drugs are expensive to make and even more expensive to enter. Even with the backing they have some may be reluctant to give funds to someone who is trying to intrude on their territory. Their best option was to go to a third party, and it just so happened to be the League."

I nodded in agreement. His reasoning was sound. Even if they owned the shadows, that didn't mean they held all the power. Everything Sir had said seemed to be the important information as far as the case went. But that didn't seem right. There were still pages left in the document. As I flipped to the next page I saw a pair of eyes staring back at me that I knew all too well. Biting my inner cheek was the only way for me to keep from reacting. I was looking at a picture of Dabi along with any information they had on him.

Sir must have known something was wrong. He stood up and made his way over to me with his usual straight face. "Everyone that is listed there is known to have either involvement in either the League or the Yakuza. You would do well to memorize everything on them.

He was right. I knew he was right. I knew Dabi wasn't a good person from the start, but seeing on a report made it so much more real. Shaking my head I flipped through the rest of the pages.

I knew Sir was thorough, but he still amazed me with everything put together. The League had shrunk in size, but their power had skyrocketed. Besides Dabi, the only names I recognized were Shigaraki and Koroguri. Other than that they had a man in a jumpsuit, a blonde girl that didn't look much older than me, a kid that looked my age, someone that looked to be in a gimp suit, a gecko that dressed like Stain, and a magician. There were two more that had X's over their faces, a man with blonde hair and one eye, as well as someone who I wasn't entirely sure what gender they were.

The confusion on my face must have been strong since Sir was quick to clear up any uncertainty.

"Those two are dead. One was killed in the altercation last night while the other was burned alive little over a month ago."

Flipping back to the picture of Dabi, I realized why his skin smelt so much more than usual that night at the camp. "I guess I really was your favorite customer."

The rest of the pages included information on the Chisaki and his men that were known as the Eight Bullets. I'll give it to them, it was an intimidating name, but most of the quirks they had didn't seem all too useful. The ones I felt the most fear towards were Chisaki, Rappa, and Chronostasis. From the information they had, those were the biggest threats from them.

With a solid grasp on the situation and who all might be involved I closed the file and looked at Sir, ready to begin.

"What do you need me to do Sir?"

"For now you and Mirio will be doing patrol routes. Bubble Girl and myself will handle monitoring the hideout for now."

"Yes Sir."

I was honestly a little let down. I wasn't expecting to go guns blazing and hop right into the investigation, but I hoped for some involvement. Well I am just a first year and it is my first day on the job. It made sense to keep me out for now.

"Like before, keep your eyes and ears out for anything drug or Yakuza related. I'm counting on you two to keep the area safe. If anything happens, call us immediately."

Both Mirio and myself gave a nod of understanding before heading to change into our costumes. With that, my first day of being a hero had begun.

The area Mirio and I were patrolling was as calm as I remembered it being. No major events to speak of, the highlights included finding a girl's lost dog and the occasional hero fanatics that wanted to get a picture with future pros. It was almost time for us to have our check in with Sir, so our patrol was coming to an end. As Mirio and I had an ideal conversation, I thought I heard the faint sounds of footsteps coming from the alley. A shiver ran down my spine as a wave of past memories came flooding back to me.

The sudden change in my behavior caught Mirio's attention. "Everything alright partner?"

Before I could give him a response a small child ran straight into me. Luckily I was able to catch her and keep her from falling. "Are you alright?"

She didn't give an answer, she only jumped a little as she looked away. Her reaction wasn't the most surprising part of her. I was looking at a girl that couldn't possibly be older than six. She had a single horn coming from the right side of her forehead, she wore a 'dress' that looked more or less like an oversized t-shirt, and her arms and legs were wrapped in bandages. It didn't take a rocket scientist to see that something was right. Before we could ask another question or even attempt to get an answer from her another voice came from the alley.

"So that's where you ran off to, Eri." Looking up from the girl who was apparently known as Eri I saw someone that shouldn't have been here. "I'm sorry about my daughter, she can be a handful at times."

Mirio and I were face to face with Kai Chisaki. Something wasn't right, if he was here Sir should also be around, but we didn't get a message from him letting us know he would be heading towards our area.

Mirio let out a small laugh. "It's no problem at all. We're just glad she didn't get hurt."

Chisaki's voice was calm and smooth. "I am as well. She's very important to me."

As Chisaki spoke Eri quickly jumped into me and latched onto me. Despite her age and size her grip rivaled Kyoka's, but that wasn't what concerned me. As she clung to me she spoke softly enough that only I could hear. Her voice was shaky and filled with terror.

"Please, help."

I put my hand on her head in an attempt to comfort her, but that wasn't the main reason. When I realized her arms and legs were wrapped in bandages I activated my quirk. Obviously something wasn't right and I had a sinking feeling in my stomach that she was in serious trouble. I had suspected that she would have a few orbs around her, but I wasn't expecting to see almost as many as I had. She wasn't even half my age and she seemed to have gone through more than I had. Given how shaken she was and the fact she was Chisaki's daughter, I decided that looking into one of her memories wouldn't hurt. As I placed my hand on her head I made sure to touch the orb that was in the area.

~I was standing in the center of something that looked like a lab. I figured this must have been some kind of hospital, that was until I saw Eri sitting in a chair and strapped in by her ankles and wrists. A sense of dread ran through me as I noticed there were no bandages on her arms and legs and on top of that she looked to be younger than she was now.

A door slowly creaked open and Chisaki walked in. He wasn't wearing his typical plague doctor mask, but he was still easily recognizable. When he reached her, he hooked her up to a gear monitor before picking up a scalpel.

What I saw next caused me to nearly throw up. Without hesitation he carved into her legs. Eri's screams were heartbreaking. No matter how much she screamed and cried he didn't stop. Given how little he cares about her well-being I thought he was just torturing her, that was until her horn started to glow.

Moments later all the cuts he made throughout her legs were healed up, but they left deep scars. Just because her legs healed it didn't stop her crying. Slowly Chisaki reached out his hand and placed it on her head.

"Don't worry the pain will stop and this will all seem like a bad dream."

A loud beep rang from the monitor as it flatlined. My eyes went wide and my jaw dropped. He had just killed her.~

Eri let out a scream before covering her mouth. I expected the scream, but I hadn't expected her to cover her mouth so quickly or for a small yellow spark to flicker from her horn.

Chisaki's eyes went wide. "Could you please bring her over here, I'd hate to disturb the public with a commotion."

I wasn't about to go along with him. I saw what he had done and I knew what he was about to do. Before I could stand up Mirio put a hand on my shoulder. "Sure thing."

Even though Mirio was smiling, I could tell he was on guard. My guess was that he didn't want to raise any suspicion. Begrudgingly I followed them into the alley. As walked deeper into the alley Chisaki kept his eyes on Eri. The sparks coming from her horn were becoming more sporadic and frequent. When we were out of earshot of the streets Chisaki came to a stop before taking off one of his gloves.

He turned to us and stretched his hand out to Eri's head. "Once again I'd like to apologize for the trouble my daughter has caused, she can be a handful at times."

As his hand touched her head she flinched again before letting go of me. When she made her way next to him he crouched down and gave her a hug. The moment his arms were fully wrapped around her, her head fell into his shoulder and the sparks stopped.

I clenched my fist and bit my tongue, the taste of copper was filling my mouth. He had just killed her in front of us. A moment later her head rose and she looked around confused.

"Are you feeling better now Eri?"

Eri slowly nodded.

"Good." Chiskai stood back up and looked at us. "I hope you can excuse our family issues. I'm sure you understand how complicated things can get."

Mirio was quick to answer. "Of course, every family is different."

With what I could only assume was a smile Chisaki took Eri and walked further into the alley. When they disappeared I looked up at Mirio. "You noticed it right?"

He gave a silent nod before walking off. "Yeah, we should go ahead and call Sir."

"Yeah." I turned back to where they had walked off to. I could only assume they had multiple entrances and exits to the hideout and one of them was nearby.

A few minutes later Mirio returned. "Alright we're going to meet him at… Uh, why are your hands bleeding?"

"What?" I looked down at my hands to see blood running down them. Without realizing it I had gauged my nails into my palms while trying to stay calm. The entire encounter with Chisaki had gotten to me.

Twenty minutes after we left the alley Mirio and I had met up with Sir and Bubble Girl. The sky had turned gray and rain could be smelt in the air.

"So what exactly happened?" Sir had directed us into another alley.

"Midoriya and I were almost done with our patrol and a child ran out of an alley. She ran straight into Midoriya. Before we could fully check on her, Chisaki appeared."

"He said she was his daughter, but I highly doubt that."

Sir's eyes narrowed. "That may be true, but we can't rule out the possibility. What else happened?"

"She asked us for help."

Mirio turned to me surprised. "Seriously?"

Nodding, I stared at the ground. "She whispered it to me when Chisaki spoke. She's terrified of him and he's definitely doing something to her."

Mirio stopped to think. "I didn't get those vibes, but something did feel off."

I looked at Mirio confused. "How could you not get those vibes? Her arms and legs were covered in bandages and she was wearing a glorified t-shirt. Hell she didn't even have shoes on, while he's walking around in spotless clothes that were clearly expensive." Taking a deep breath I turned to Sir. "Maybe I saw something that you couldn't."

Sir's eyes widened momentarily before returning to normal. "Enough, what happened next."

"Oh, she screamed for a moment before her horn started to spark." Mirio scratched his head. "It was out of nowhere so it surprised me."

"My guess is it was quirk related. She might not have much control over it. Given how Chisaki reacted he's likely one of the only people that can calm her down and stop it."

"I see." Sir was silent as he thought about everything we had said. "There's not much we can do now. After everything I wouldn't be surprised if he went into hiding for a while. Let's head back to the office for now and plan out our next steps."

Back at the office Centipeder was waiting for us. He had returned earlier in the day, but stayed back to compile all the new information into the previous documents. After everyone had briefed each other on any and all events on the day our meeting came to an end. As we all got up to leave, Sir called me back. I was expecting this to happen. I was obvious in my attempt to let him know that I had used my quirk on her. Once the others left, we sat in silence until we knew they weren't coming back.

"What did you see?" His voice was sharp and got to the point quickly.

"He's experimenting on her. It was gruesome to watch. Her bandages cover the scars that run down her arms and legs. My best guess is he's testing the limits of her quirk."

"Do you have any idea as to what her quirk might be?"

"Some form of healing. I saw the wounds heal themselves, but they didn't heal the scars."

"I see, was there anything else?"

"He killed her."

Sir's eyes raised in surprise. "What?"

"Her quirk wasn't stopping so he killed her to make it stop. I don't know how he brought her back. In the memory her heart monitor flatlined and then it ended. He did it back then, he did it today, and I'm certain he's been doing it for years."

"He did it today?"

I nodded. "Yeah, before he got her to calm down he took off a glove and wrapped his arms around her. He did it to look as if he was comforting her. If I hadn't seen him do it before I would have assumed that he was just trying to help. I don't know if it was intentional or not but he wasn't very thorough in hiding it. Even though he placed a hand on her head, he still let her head fall limp into his shoulder."

"There's a good chance that he was overconfident and just assumed a couple kids wouldn't notice or maybe he was showing it as a sign of power."

"Maybe so, but it took a lot to not do something."

Sir nodded. "I agree, I'm certain almost everyone would have done something if they had seen what you saw. I commend the strength it took to hold back."

"It doesn't feel like I should be proud."

Sir stood up and made his way over to me. "That's understandable, but we're one step closer to being able to take him down and stop any connection between him and the League."

"How so."

"Midoriya, have you heard of Act No. 82 of 2000?"

"Of course, it has to do with child abuse…" A smirk spread across my face. " Oh I see now."

Sir nodded. "Yes, once we find exactly where she's being kept we can kill two birds with one stone."

"Yeah, that sounds like a plan to me."

"Good, you're free to go for the day. I have some calls to make."

With that my first day came to an end. On my walk to the train station the rain started. The gray skies and sounds of raindrops crashing to the ground drenching everything. None of it bothered me, the encounter and conversation with Sir was stuck in my head. Even though our situations were completely different I couldn't help but see a bit of myself in her. Even if just seeing her gave us a reason to take him down I still had my own thoughts on how it was being handled. Unfortunately all I could do was trust in Sir, I just hope we're not too late.
