Welcome back, sorry this is a pretty short chapter. Not many trigger warnings, a few mentions of the ownership/ buying and selling of omegas as well as stereotyping people. Again thank you for all of the support and patients I've been give. As always take care of yourselves and thank you for reading.

"What do you think?" Remus asked, posing cheerfully to show off his outfit.

He wore a loose sweater that was scrunched up around his elbows to reveal his fishnet gloves. His sweater was tucked loosely into the hem of his hip hugging shorts, Roman could only assume his tail was hidden somewhere in the fold of his sweater. He wore a slightly cockied baseball cap that completely hid his other omega traits.

"It looks great on you," Roman replied, tugging at his own jacket awkwardly.

Remus had chosen a simple white scoop neck top with a very muted gray brown jacket that was folded tightly up to his forearms allowing his boney arms to be on full display. The jeans hung from his hip bones, the loose fabric wrinkling around his thin limbs.

"Do you not like yours?" Remus guessed.

"It's… It's different," Roman replied hesitantly.

"Hey, it's okay, that's the point of today. We're gonna get you the type of clothing that'll make you comfortable and get you things to make your room feel more like your own, you know?" Remus grinned comfortingly as he clapped his hand down on his brother's shoulder. "Come on, Janny's waiting."

Roman and Remus made their way out of Roman's room, where Remus had met him with some clothes so he wouldn't have to walk up and down two different sets of stairs, to the front door where Janus was waiting. He smiled when he saw the twins approaching.

"Ready to go?"

"I believe so, Sir Janus," Roman replied with a dip of his head.

"Alright. Patton, Virgil, we'll be off now! Call if you need anything," Janus called, looking over towards the living room where Virgil and Patton were watching movies.

"Have fun kiddos!" Patton called back as they left through the front door.

The three of them walked out to Janus's car, Remus choosing the back once again to sit with Roman, they all knew it'd be a long time before Remus ever let Roman out of his sight again.

"So where are we heading, Snake man?" Remus asked.

"Just over to Eastpark Mall in the middle district," Janus replied, turning on the car and heading around the roundabout to venture down the long driveway on the way to the road. "I figure it's close, safe enough compared to other areas near the lower district, and it's not as ritzy or expensive as the ones near and in the upper district."

"Isn't that the one just a couple miles from where 'Morning Grind' used to be?" Remus asked.

"Yeah, I think so. It's on the other side of the district lines but pretty close by," Janus replied.

"Morning Grind?" Roman asked, cocking his head slightly.

"Mhm! That's where Jan and I met," Remus grinned.

Roman blinked in surprise, he actually was rather intrigued by the new information. He was still very confused how Remus, who he'd last seen heading off to live at a shelter for homeless omegas in the lower district, met a decently rich alpha and how they actually managed to accept each other. Patton had mentioned that morning that Remus was the only one who knew Janus before moving in, they'd been friends for a while but he didn't know the story of what'd happened.

"What's up Ro-Ro? You seem pensive," Remus asked, raising a brow.

"It's nothing, really! I was just curious how exactly you two met and what brought you together, you know?" Roman said, rubbing the back of his neck.

"Well he was one of the most interesting coffee shop interactions I'd ever had," Janus replied.

"True that," Remus grinned proudly.

"What?"

"Don't worry Roman, I'll tell you the story," Janus laughed.

Janus was just starting his second semester of his freshman year of law school. Already he was having to study for several exams and needed a place to study. He loved his mates, he really did, but they didn't make studying easy on him. Patton always wanted to be doing something together or just wanting attention and Logan would always try to help him study but only make him more frustrated. Studying on campus only made things worse. People recognized him as a Dolion and immediately wanted to be his friend and would disrupt the study hours that he actually really needed. Just because he was the son of a famous lawyer didn't mean he already knew everything, he had to study just as hard as everyone else.

This is what led him to investigating a small unpopular cafe right on the border between the middle district and lower district of town. It was a little out of his way, even if his father had bought him a large house in the middle district so he wouldn't have to live in an apartment but could still live closer to campus. However if it meant getting away from the group of classmates that had overtaken the previous all night cafe he frequented, then it was well worth the drive.

Janus entered the building claiming a small two person table in the corner before walking up to order a coffee from the barista.

"Excuse me, I'd like to order an iced caramel latte, light ice and also one of those cinnamon rolls from your display would be wonderful," Janus said politely.

"So you're gay."

"What?" Janus blinked in surprise at the barista's comment.

"Well like a good eighty percent of male alphas that order drinks like that like males in some way shape or form. Most others have some masculinity complex about how hot black coffee makes them more of a manly man," the barista laughed, ringing up Janus's total. "That'll be four sixty three, bright eyes."

Janus handed him his credit card as he smiled softly.

"Well I suppose you aren't wrong. My mates are male," he replied.

"Ah, so there is a plural in there. Let me guess. Rich boy from alpha and beta couple, living off of daddy's money, bought your own hareem of pretty little omegas, and you've got the alpha presence to get anyone you want in bed with you?" The barista said, giving him a cocky smile as he leaned against the counter.

Janus rolled his eyes.

"Yes, I'm just a walking stereotype, my presence just screams that doesn't it?" Janus said sarcastically.

"Well then stranger, feel free to correct me," the barista replied, moving away to go make Janus's coffee.

"Well for starters my mother is an omega. My father accidentally knocked up one of his omegas and, well, since then he's raised me as any proud father would," Janus said.

"Dang, I've heard some horror stories about that kinda thing. Your mom still okay?" The barista asked, becoming a bit more interested in the conversation.

"Yes, to this day, although he never took her as a proper mate, she is still one of his favorites and lets her spend time with me away from the group on special occasions," Janus replied. "Which is why I have more respect for omegas than most of the so-called 'rich alphas living on their daddy's money with the alpha presence to get anyone in my bed' as you so eloquently put it."

"And yet you haven't denied having bought yourself a hareem," the barista countered.

"I can't technically deny I have more than one mate, however they are more than free to leave me if they really wish to do so. I don't want to keep them if they are unhappy. Not to mention, unlike most my age, I only have two and I care for them both dearly."

"Fine, fine, not a walking stereotype," the barista laughed walking back over with the coffee and cinnamon roll.

"Thank you."

Janus reached for his food when the smell hit his nose, finally working its way through the overwhelming scent of spilled coffee and vanilla scented perfume. In the close distance Janus was able to smell the man as the omega he was, it was a very strong and intriguing smell, more attractive than most of the scents from his father's omegas. He had to do a double take, staring the man up and down for a second. He didn't look at all like an omega. He finally realized the top of his head was covered by a beanie and there was a hoodie tied around his waist hiding any visible signs of an omega from sight. Janus had assumed he was a beta, like over fifty percent of the population was. With all those piercings, the mustache, and the dyed hair he definitely didn't look like an omega.

The barista startled Janus out of his daze as he began laughing hysterically.

"You just realized I was an omega, didn't you?" He guessed, gasping out the words through his laughter. "God I love it when people get that expression."

"Pardon me, I didn't intend to be rude," Janus replied after clearing his throat awkwardly.

"Eh, don't sweat it. Ya woulda noticed earlier if I hadn't been back here with all the coffee spills. Kinda got a bit of an unusual scent if ya didn't notice" the man snickered.

"So I presume your being an omega has absolutely nothing to do with your judgement of stereotypical alphas?" Janus grinned, finally able to turn the assumption table on the man.

"I mean, you could say I have a bit of a grudge against 'em. Just don't wanna be forced to be the perfect little trophy omega that never gets to do anything fun. Made a promise to myself, how long has it been now, eight years? Yeah eight years ago… Anyways I made a promise that I'd never let myself be like that. Chasing away pesky alphas is just one of the perks of that," he replied with a shrug.

"Am I a pesky alpha?" Janus asked, raising a brow.

The barista hummed looking Janus up and down as if inspecting him.

"Well, you might pass. Just barely, " he replied.

"I'll take that as a complement."

"As you should. It's a very prestigious honor you know," the man teased.

Janus couldn't hide the genuine smile on his face as he spoke with the strange omega. He set down his food and held out his hand to the barista.

"My name is Janus."

The barista gave him a wide, toothy grin in response as he shook the hand.

"Remus."

"Pleasure to meet you Remus. I'm going to head over to the tables to study so you can do your job. That is unless you are getting paid for chatting with random patrons," Janus said.

"Dude, unless the customers are invisible you are literally the only one here. Like no one is ever here unless it's the initial morning rush at opening and I rarely work opening," Remus replied dramatically, emphasizing his boredom by practically laying on top of the counter.

"No one is usually here?" Janus asked curiously.

"Nope. Maybe like one an hour comes in, grabs a coffee and leaves, no one really stays," Remus replied.

"Well now you'll have a regular coming here to study frequently," Janus said.

"Cool, then I'll make it your job to make sure I get a couple minutes of decent human interaction in my days. I'm normally here every day at this time, if I'm not I probs took a week off… for obvious reasons," Remus stated.

"I think I can make a deal with that."
