Here chapter 2 of Spear and Shield again don't expect a regular schedule I'm doing this for some entertainment for the time being I won't drop this dead but it might take some time for new chapters to come out.
It's pretty early but I'm gonna stop using honorifics at first it seemed like a decent idea but I might forgot adding one by accident so I'm going to stop now rather then further down the line.

"This whole trial stinks of bullshit."-Kane Stone, current Spear Hero.
The sun begins to rise upon Melromarc. Life seems to still be continuing on as usual in the country, but there's a air of tension surrounding it as the unknown of where the Wave will strike.
At the castle, everyone is preparing for the Heroes' adventure out into the world, to strength themselves for the oncoming Waves. The Heroes themselves are about to enter the throne room to get their party members. Naofumi looks at Kane with a concerned look.
"Are you completely fine now Stone?"
Kane responds with a chuckle.
"I'm fine Shieldy, your concern for my health makes me so much better." A teasing grin forms on his mouth as he stares at the Shield Hero.
Naofumi looks away and responds. "That's good to hear."
All the Heroes stand before the King with a line of adventurers standing directly in front of the Heroes. The King speaks ."We have gathered brave warriors who will fight the Waves with you legendary Heroes."
Kane looks at them all. 'I guess they covered all bases you got your melee fighters, your archers and even your mages… How does magic even work here?'
"Now, our future champions. Choose the one you wish to serve."
Kane does a double take. "Wait, what?"
The adventures all begin to step forward to choose the hero they wanted to , all the adventurers chose the Hero they wanted to serve but there was one big issue.
Nobody was standing behind Naofumi, her response is shock, she quickly counts all the adventurers "Three… Four… Five… Yo, King!"
The King has an air of indifference about him as if uncaring about what's happened. He masks his indifference by raising a hand to rub his chin. "I have to admit, I wasn't expecting this."
The man standing next to the King says aloud with his eyes closed. "No volunteers? She must have no charisma."
Kane eyes squint in confusion. "That's retarded."
The man standing next to the King opens his eyes and focuses on Kane as does the King.
One of the robed men bends over and whispers into his ear, his lips slightly turn upward, he clearing his throat as he regains his air of indifference, he begins to explain.
"So, there have been rumours."
Naofumi responds. "Did something happen?"
"Well, rumours that the Shield Hero is ignorant of this world have spread around town."
"What?"
"Legend says the Heroes come with a firm understanding of our lands. And they seem to think she doesn't meet that criteria."
Kane facepalms and lets out a sigh. "I take it back that's even more retarded."
The King's eyebrows furrowed ever so slightly and with an aggravated tone speaks.
"What do you mean Spear Hero?"
"Well I mean I don't really know much about this world yet for some reason rumours haven't been spread around about me?"
The King's eyes widen and quickly tries to respond. "...Well that's because you present more of a Heroic presence then her, you are certainly more physical impressive."
"…what in the fu-?"
The King interrupts, moving the conversation along making Kane stare at him in slight confusion. "It doesn't matter anyway the rumours have already been spread it can't be stopped now." Kane squints his eyes in suspicion, this feel intentional to him.
Naofumi looks at the ground with a scowl. 'What the hell why are these rumours being spread around about me and only me?' Naofumi grits her teeth and turns to Ren. "That aside, Amaki, you don't need five! Gimme some of them!"
Ren looks at Naofumi. "I'm actually more of a loner." He slowly turns his head at the group directly behind him "If any of you can't cut it, I'll leave you behind."
The people in his group huddle even closer to Ren resulting in Naofumi's eyes hardening, Naofumi turns to Kane to ask for his assistance.
"Dammit, what about you Stone, you know this is unfair."
Kane looks at Naofumi, gives a nod and turns to the group of women behind him.
"Ladies I am humbled that you chose me of all of Heroes, but I think it would be best for some of you to join the Shield Hero's party."
Two of the women seem to consider it, one small mage takes a step towards Naofumi but pauses then gets back in line behind Kane, Naofumi is saddened by the fact that the mage changed her mind about joining her party.
Itsuki steps forward to speak. "It would be best to split them three each but if we force it, it could destroy morale."
Kane attempts to convince his party one more time to join Naofumi's party. "Are you sure none of you want to reconsider?"
Before panic could set in for Naofumi a hand rises from the very back of Kane's party. "I wish to join the Shield Hero's party if that's fine with you Spear Hero?" A red headed woman comes forward from the back.
Kane smiles at the red head. "Completely fine with me, the Shield Hero needs party members just as much as the rest of us." Ren rolled his eyes at that, Naofumi lets out a sigh of relief.
The King's eyes seemed to harden at the presence of the red head he opens his mouth "Are there any others who wouldn't mind joining Naofumi? I suppose we'll have to take other measures. Naofumi, you will have to recruit for your party yourself." Naofumi gives a nod "Every month, we shall provide each Hero with the funds they require. This time, Naofumi's payment will be higher than the others. Here are your initial war chests. Please accept them."
The man standing next to the King inform the Heroes of how much they are receiving "The Shield Hero gets 800 silver coins while the other Heroes get 600." The King finishes off "Use this to procure all necessary equipment and set forth on your journey."
All the Heroes respond with yes.
The Heroes find themselves outside the castle, he says his goodbyes to Naofumi before he adventures out with his party.
"See you later Shieldy."
Naofumi looks up and smiles, the pleasant goodbye from Kane slightly lifting her spirits. "Bye Stone."
As Kane walks with his party he decides to ask a few questions their names, what their skills are and such even asking question about the local area like the best place to look for jobs, best place to restock potions , best inns and the best blacksmith which they are standing directly outside of after buying potions and taking a few easy jobs.
Kane and his party enter the shop a tall and extremely muscular man behind the counter.
"Welcome to my shop, take a lo… Say kid you wouldn't happen to be one of the Heroes would?"
Kane is surprised at how the shop owner knows of him so quickly
"How did you figure that out big guy?"
The shop owner gains a smirk
"One of the other heroes came in with strange clothing kinda like yours but green"
A smile emerges on Kane face upon realising who he's talking about
"You're talking about Shieldy aren't you?"
"Yep she came in here wanting to buy equipment anyway how can I help you Hero?"
"Well here to buy some of your gear your shop's been recommended to me by my party and I need to get kitted up before trying to take on some monsters you got any recommendations big guy?"
"That depends what kind of armour are you looking for and what is your price range?"
"I need armour that doesn't slow me down but gives decent defence at least for a level 1 and my price range is around 200 silver coins" 'I need to start making some money soon I already spent around 70 silvers on potions and if I buy armour that might leave with around only half of what I started with.'
The shop owner puts a hand to his chin and after a few moments gives his recommendation. "I would say get a leather chest piece with leather gauntlets and knee guards."
"How much would that cost in total?"
"Normally around 170 silvers but I'll give you a discount and make it 130 silvers."
'So, If I buy this I've got 400 silvers left after not too bad honestly but not as much as I would like.' "Alright I'll take the leather armour pieces"
The shop owner smiles at this and walks to go get the armour. "You're making a good choice here kid."
Kane chuckles "I bet, what's your name big guy?"
The shop owner returns with the leather pieces in tow and gives them to Kane "The name's Erhard kid what's yours?" Kane quickly tells him his name and hands him the silvers "Kane Stone huh? Interesting name." Kane smiles and asks for a changing room Erhard points towards one of the supposed changing rooms, Kane enters it and quickly changes into the new equipment.
Leather chest piece: +6 Phy Def, minor cold resistance
Leather gauntlets: +2 Phy Def.
Leather knee guards: +2 Phy Def.
Kane nods his head at the new stats. 'Defence got a pretty nice boost and that minor cold resistance although small doesn't hurt to have.'
He leaves the changing room. "Well thanks for the gear Erhard I'll see you around."
As Kane and his party start to leave the shop Erhard says his goodbyes. "See you around Hero make sure you come to me when you need weapons or armour."
Kane chuckles. "I'll be back before you know it."
Kane and his party leave and proceed to the gate that protects the town from the wilderness. They walk down to the forest killing monsters left and right to try and fulfil the job they took early.
The party find themselves in a forest, killing small monsters such as balloons and slimes trying to increase their levels. Kane slices a slime in two, it slumps and starts to dissolve until all that is left is the leftover residue on the Spear.

After killing the last slime, Kane open his status menu to look at his progression.

The Spear mysteriously flashes and surprises Kane, making him shout out in surprise. "What the fuck!"A notification pops up, startling Kane.
Blue Slime Spear unlocked! +3 Phy Def, +2 Mag Def, +1 Atk, small bludgeoning resistance.
'Wait you can absorb monster parts to improve the weapons? How does it even absorb it do you like need to… oh.' Kane finds out the culprit for his new Spear, which turns out to be the left over slime from Kane slicing in half, which has slowly dribbled it's way into the gem. 'Ah fuck so all the monster I just killed for XP can be also used to unlock Spears.' Kane sighs and looks at his party members. "So turns out I can absorb monster remains to unlock new Spears so sorry to say this ladies but we're gonna have to pick up slime remains and maybe even worse down the line." Two of the girls the mage and the pinkish haired one looked rather uncomfortable at picking up the slimes while the blonde haired one doesn't seem to be bothered by this.
Kane picks up some more slime from the ground to put into his Spear. 'ugh feels so weird in my hands hopefully it doesn't get worse than this.'
Kane tries to put more slime into his Spear but it seems to do nothing. 'So I only need one of the monster materials to unlock the Spear guess that saves time but still could of told me before I grabbed that shit oh well at least it's in my inventory, I should check it just in case who knows maybe I got a monster drop?' Kane opens his menu to look for his inventory 'Where is it? It's gotta be here somewhere what kind of game world doesn't have one?' a tab suddenly appears in his menu, Kane looks at the sudden appearance of his inventory with suspicion, he eventually shrugs his shoulders and opens it, he opens it to find the slime and even a monster drop item.

Kane thinks for a moment before pressing yes.

'I have no idea what I just did.' Kane opens his help menu about to read it about Status Enchantment but he's interrupted by his party who had finally collected all the materials from the slimes.
"Thanks for this ladies." Kane takes the slime from their hands and lets the Spear absorb it all.

Red Slime Spear unlocked: +4 Atk, +2 Agi.
Kane looks at sun and sees it starting to set. "It's getting late let's all head back and rest up." Kane and his party start to make their way back to the town.
"Splat, splat, splat"
The whole party stops to look where the sounds coming from and finds a big slime with a group of smaller slimes following it
Royal Guard Slime
'A Royal Guard Slime? So, does that mean there's royalty of slimes around here?' Kane quickly tries to think up of a tactic to kill the big slime. "Alright Rino stay back and hit the big one with your magic, the rest of us kill the smaller ones before focusing on the big one." The party nods and proceeds Rino charges a spell to hit the Royal Guard Slime with while the rest of them charges and starts to slay the smaller slimes. Kane slices one of the small slimes one of the slimes jumps on Kane while he wasn't paying attention, he quickly pulls it off and throws it on the ground finishing it with a stab.
He quickly opens his menu to look how much damage the slime did.

'Damn even the small ones can do some damage.' "Make sure you don't get hit even the small ones can do some damage, so I don't want to know how much the big fucker is capable of."
The rest of the party starts to cut down the small slimes taking a few hits from trying to avoid the Royal Guard Slime. Rino still focuses on the Guard Slime but finishes the rest of the smaller slimes with an AoE spell.

"Nice work Rino alright everyone group up and let's kill this overgrown asshole."
Kane charges in and runs to side of the slime while burying his Spear deep inside to slice it, it doesn't do as much damage as he would have wanted but he got the slime's attention leaving it upon from attack from the two melee fighter in his party to which they cut and stab the Royal Guard Slime reached 40% of his health upon which it makes a disgusting gurgle
Royal Guard Slime uses Slippery Agility.
The Royal Guard Slime starts to hop around even faster and more aggressively going straight for the person that hurt it last which was the blonde-haired swordswoman she turns around to run from the slime "Help me!" Kane gives chase to the slime with the pink haired one and Rino following while running Rino charges another spell and hits it directly on the slime, it stop and makes a massive jump into the air about 30 feet to try and crush Rino from the heavens the group quickly scatter to avoid the big slime falling on them, Kane and the pink haired girl prepare for a strike while the blonde-haired woman quickly rushes back to the group.
"Rino charge another spell get ready to hit it."
As soon as the slime lands in the spot everyone was previous at they attack it trying to kill it quickly before it can use it's agility to single someone out, the blonde-haired arrived and begins to join in on attacking it bringing the slime to 4% health before it can hop again they all get ready to dodge the attack but this time it goes for Kane unfortunately the slime sped up even faster due to it being at death's door and pounces at Kane. Kane lands on his back with the slime on top "SPEAR HERO!" He quickly uses the Spear as a knife and repeatedly stabs it in the side hoping to kill it before it kills him and with a stroke of luck the slime stops and begins to collapse into itself.

Kane drags himself out from underneath the dissolving slime, he struggles to get back on his feet. His party quickly run up to help him to his feet. "Spear Hero are you okay?" Kane pulls out a potion from his back pocket and drinks it one go, cringing at the taste, after a few moments his body seems to recover if just a bit enough that he could stand on his own and probably won't die to bleeding or such.
"I'm fine now mostly just sore now you guys mind helping me gather up these materials?" They give him a quick nod and proceed to gather the drops. He looks at his status to see how he's doing.

'Jesus that was close one, at least I got a huge amount of XP from it and hopefully some new good new monster materials to strengthen my Spear.' Kane bends over and picks up some of the Royal Guard Slime to put into his Spear, the red gem begins to glow as Kane slowly dribbles it into the gem.

Skill unlocked! Seismic Leap: Jump into the air and hit the ground with a seismic force which deals physical damage, this skill becomes even more powerful the higher you are as such when using this skill falling damage is heavily reduced.
'Alright that alone was worth it I should take some extra give some to Naofumi and the others.' He absorbs the rest of the Guard Slime to be put into his inventory to share with the others. The others quickly come up and give Kane the rest of the slimes although the pink haired one seems to be disgusted holding such a thing, Kane takes them and absorbs them into his Spear

Kane smiles at this absorbs the rest to also be put into his inventory. "Alright ladies let's head back I rather not be ambushed by those guys again they will quite literally be the death of me."
The party after the rude interruption finally arrive back in town, they go and turn in the completed job to gain some money and sell off some monster parts although Kane saves a few for either crafting or to give to the fellow Heroes. They go to a inn and eat together, Kane takes a quick look at his health to see how he's recovering.

'Alright I've mostly recovered so a good night's sleep will definitely max out my health.' Kane continues to eat with his party mostly making small talk until he finishes his food to which he says goodnight to all the women in his party and leaves to go take a bath wanting to wash since that big ass slime pounced him.
Kane is in his room taking off his clothes to get into bed. As he's about to get to bed a knock on the door echoes through the room. Kane looks at the door in confusion but goes to open it when he becomes even more confused when a naked red-haired woman leaps into his chest. 'What the fuck?'
"Oh, Spear Hero I'm so glad I found you i-it was so horrible!"
Kane's confusion is still apparent. "What was?"
The red head sniffles. "The Shield Hero s-she forced herself onto me said she wanted to have her fun with me before selling me off as a slave she deemed me worthless."
Kane completely unsure on how to comfort her, slowly raises his arm and gently strokes her head. "It will be alright. Here take this to cover you up." Kane gives her his red jacket so she could cover herself up to which she takes, covering her body with his jacket. "Alright stay here I'll go deal with her."
The girl shakes her head. "NO! please don't, wait with me till morning for the knights Sir Kane!" Kane takes a moment but eventually nod his head at her request, not wanting to leave the victim alone.
A few hours later.
They find themselves in the throne room with the King and all the Heroes apart from Naofumi.
"…Then she forced me onto my back said she wanted to have her fun with me before selling me off, she started to tear my clothes and berate me, she forced herself onto me, after some harrowing moments I was able to escape and then find the Spear Hero."
She grabs onto Kane's arm, pressing her body against Kane, his arm buried deep within her large breasts as she wipes her eye with her other hand. She gains looks of sympathy from everyone apart from Kane who looks at the ground in confusion, his strange action is not noticed or ignored. He looks up at Myne who's name he learned just recently. 'Something about this feels really off to me, like why did she come to me and not an actual guard?'
Itsuki speaks. "I guess she let power get to her head and thinks she can do whatever she wants."
Ren nods his head in agreement.
Kane's thoughts twist and churn. 'Now that I think about it how did she even know where to find me? Was she just knocking on random people's doors, hoping for the best? Why? She just escaped from a situation where she was being violated why waste time knocking on stranger's doors instead of going to the police or whatever qualifies as the police around here? How did she even escape? I mean she said Naofumi was drunk but if she was strong enough to knock her out how did she even lose in the first place?'
Myne's arms twist even more around his own like a snake would wrap around it's prey, her voluptuous breasts pressing against his arm. In any other scenario the action would arouse him instead it just makes his suspicious. it makes him doubt Myne even more. 'I just learned her name and she's grinding her tits into me.' Myne squeezes her chest even further into Kane's arm, sniffling as she does so further strengthening the doubts in his mind.
The doors to the throne room open and Naofumi gets led in surrounded by knights, they reach the halfway point to when Naofumi gets shoved to the ground. Naofumi grunts in pain. "That hurts." A group of knights surrounding Naofumi point their spears at her. Naofumi gains a look of confusion as she stares at the knights. "What's going on?" she looks around and sees Myne standing by Kane. "Myne! You're okay?" Myne lets out a squeak of fear and hides behind Kane who's face is like stone, not showing any emotion. "Myne?" The room is deathly silent many are staring at Naofumi with disgust and rage on their faces. "Yo, King! I had all my money and equipment other than the Shield stolen while I was asleep!"
The doubt in Kane's head makes him ponder what Naofumi said. 'Someone stole from Naofumi or is she lying? She doesn't look hungover either, so another lie?'
Naofumi gulps, feeling uncomfortable under the glares but she continues nonetheless. "Please find the thief-"
She was interrupted with a bellow from the King. "Quiet, scumbag!"
Naofumi looks shocked. "What's this about?"
The King put a hand to his head and lets out a sigh. "Myne, you poor adventurer, could you please testify once more for us?"
Myne stutters out her story again. "Th-The Shield Hero barged into my room drunk and forced me onto my back…"
Naofumi stands up, the knights watch her every move with absolute focus. "Huh?"
Myne continues "She said she wanted to have her fun with me before I get sold off as slave and tore off my clothes she began to berate me and violated me I somehow escaped and ran to Sir Stone, who happened to be staying in the same inn, for help!"
Naofumi eyes widen at this. "What are you talking about?! I went straight to bed after dinner last night!"
The King raises in his throne. "To think the Shield Hero would commit the gravest sin in this country."
The King's advisor speaks up. "In Melromarc, even attempting to sexually assault a woman is punishable by death regardless of gender!"
Kane's head snaps to the King. 'What! But all we have now is he said she said, you can't just execute someone for that!'
The King raises his hand and points at Naofumi. "If you weren't a Hero you would be executed!"
'I don't understand, they're trying to sweep this under rag so quickly but I can't be the only one who notices how weird this whole thing is right? ...Except, they don't want to! It's a fucking set-up! Day one they've been treating Naofumi weirdly and now they've decided to frame her.' Not seen by anyone Kane clenches his fist or at least anyone that did thought that anger was aimed at Naofumi. 'God what would of happened if Myne didn't stop me from going to Naofumi?' Guilt builds up from his stomach, making his anger at being fooled boil even hotter. He grinds his teeth.
Naofumi gains a look of fear. "Executed? I'm telling you; you've got the wrong idea! If you're so convinced I did, show me the proof!"
A knight steps forwards and kneel onto the ground and speaks. "When we searched the Shield Hero's room, um, we found this on her bed." The knight pulls out some slightly ripped undergarments. Myne screams out and steps behind all the Heroes.
The King speaks. "There you have it. Undeniable proof."
Naofumi shouts, her tone becoming more desperate. "How? It wasn't there when I woke up!"
Itsuki speaks straight to Naofumi with a tone of disappointment. "It's too bad. I was worried something bad might happen, but I was hoping you'd know better."
Ren joins in with a condensing tone. "She thinks a Hero can do whatever the hell she wants and get away with it."
Naofumi denies it, shaking her head with vigour. "That's not even the least bit true." Naofumi places her hand on the ground 'What is all this? What the hell is going on? Myne… Myne! Why would you lie like that? Weren't we supposed to be a party?' Naofumi sees Myne standing behind all the Heroes smile, with a cruel look in her eye she shows her tongue and with her finger pull down on her eyelid mocking Naofumi. 'I see. Joining me was just a ruse to destroy me right here. It was all a lie! The smiles she showed me, and her acts of kindness, were all fake!' Her chest burns with rage as her fist pushes into the floor. The people all around the court begin to mock her.
"It really was a mistake to summon all four Heroes together."
"Exactly. They never should've summoned the Shield Hero. But who would've thought she'd be such scum?"
'The shield… It's all about the shield again?' The mocking whispers continue getting louder and louder in Naofumi's head until something breaks through.
"Just shut the fuck up."
All heads turn to Kane who has a scowl on his face. Myne runs up to Kane and grabs his arm. "Sir Stone!"
Kane turns to look at her, she looks up at him, crocodile tears trailing down her face as she rubs her upper chests into his arm, the action makes him snarl as he rips his arm out of her grip. "Do you think I'm fucking stupid?"
Myne begins to stutter. "W-What do you mean Sir Stone?"
The King looks at Kane with surprise which quickly turns to anger. "Sir Stone you still defend this scum after what sh-"
"Just shut the fuck up, honestly I should of spoke up earlier instead of letting you shits hound poor Naofumi over a crime she obviously didn't commit."
"The proof is there Sir Stone, the Shield Hero clearly raped poor Myne!"
"Your so called proof is a statement and a pair of slightly ripped undies, I thought you said she tore the clothes right off you Myne? It doesn't look like it's been torn right off you." He steps closer to Myne who keeps her distance by backstepping. "For someone who was just raped, you sure didn't mind grinding your tits into my arm."
Naofumi brightens a bit at the thought of someone actually believing her and even defending her, until she starts to hear the courtroom begin to slowly turn on him.
"What is the Spear Hero doing defending that monster?"
"I expected better from him."
"Perhaps he's just as scummy as the Shield Hero."
Naofumi looks around and sees everyone staring at Stone with glares and looks of disappointment while he argues with everyone else. "Fine I don't care anymore. Just send me back to my world. Summon a new Shield Hero or do whatever the hell you want!"
Kane turns around and gives Naofumi a shocked look, Ren speaks up. "You're going to run as soon as things go south?"
Itsuki follows up. "After all you've done, how could you even think about not doing your job?"
Kane glares. "You two retards should shut your mouths and instead think about the obvious set up." The two Heroes glare at Kane. who gives a middle finger back at them.
the King puts a hand to his head. "Well, I'd love to do as you wish and kick you out, but legend says new Heroes can only be summoned once all Four Cardinal Heroes die."
All the Heroes stare at the King in shock.
"What?"
"Fuck."
Naofumi grits her teeth. "So I can't even go home?"
"Well, you can certainly go home after you fight off all the incoming Waves."
Naofumi shouts, the rage in her voice making it deeper as it echoes in the room. "Fine! I'll handle the Waves my way, then!" Naofumi pushes all the guards holding onto her off, the guard that didn't fall to the ground attempt to grab her again. "GET OFF ME ALREADY!" Naofumi pushes all the guards off again, some of them thrown to the ground while others are forced to take steps back, at the centre stands Naofumi with her Shield glowing a bright green "What'll it be? Will you throw me in jail until the Waves arrive?"
"I won't imprison you. There's hardly any time until the next Wave. Scum or not, you're still a hero, one of the only beings who can fight the Waves. But news of your crime is already spreading among the people. That is your punishment. Don't think you'll ever get to lead a decent life in this country."
Naofumi about to leave. "I know that already!" before she leaves, she looks at Kane. His regretful eyes meeting her grateful ones, the two stare at each other for a moment before she turns around and walks away.
Kane looks at the ground in shame. 'Dumbass maybe Naofumi wouldn't be completely fucked over if you connected the dots early, you could have warned her.'
Kane lets out a sigh and starts to leave, wanting to leave the room full of snakes but to his annoyance the King raises his voice. "Where do you think you're going Sir Stone?"
Kane continues walking. "It's called leaving, surely you have enough brain cells to know what that is."
"H-How dare you insult me in such a manner!"
"Get fucked."
"Guards halt the Spear Hero!" The guards that were holding onto Naofumi block Kane's path pointing their spears. He groans at the guards blocking him, the King speaks straight to Kane "Now Spear Hero, I want you to understand that supporting a criminal Hero like the Shi-"
"She isn't a criminal though, you fuckers just framed her." Kane interrupts the King.
Myne cries out while the King angerly responds "Framed! The Shield Hero sexually assaulted her party member this is a terrible fact, how dare you act as if what Mal-Myne suffered was all but a lie."
Kane shrugs his shoulders mockingly. "Well she's either one of two things; a whore or a liar, considering all the holes in her story I'm going with liar."
Myne begins to cry. "I-I didn't want this Sir Stone, she really did force herself onto me."
Itsuki supports Myne by rubbing her back, he begins speaking to Kane with a tone of disgust and disappointment. "Stone how could you be so cruel to Myne after what she went through?"
Ren nods. "She's suffered enough and yet you're causing her more pain, you're almost as bad as Naofumi."
Kane facepalms. "Fine since you two retards don't understand how women work, let me give you some wisdom into their minds; if a normal girl gets raped, she doesn't start rubbing her tits and pussy on pretty much a complete fucking stranger, shit this works for any fucking gender since being raped is traumatic for anyone." He puts his hand on hips while shaking his head. "This is just common sense yet you two seem to believe this bullshit."
The two Heroes pause and then look at each other, doubt in their eyes but the doubt is quickly washed away by the King who speaks up with a rather strange amount of rage. "It is as you said Spear Hero, Myne has suffered a traumatic event as such she is acting out in a strange way because she is hurt, you should not be so cruel and help her like the Sir Ren and Sir Itsuki instead of insulting her!"
Kane throws his hands up. "Fine, I'll stop insulting her." Kane looks straight at Myne who looks back with watery eyes. "You are a fantastic actor, your skill in bullshitting is unmatched." There's a pause before Myne cries out again even louder she buries her head into Itsuki's arm, the two Heroes look at her with sympathy. "Oh for fuck sake, can I go or are you gonna waste even more of my time trying to make me believe this utter shit?"
The King aggressively grips the arms of his throne while gritting his teeth. "Not until you realize-" The King is interrupted by his advisor whispering in his ear, the King grounds his teeth even harder until he stops. "...Guards let the Spear Hero pass." The Guards pause for a few moments before adhering to the King's command to which Kane looks at in confusion
'Maybe the old asshole is just a puppet king, would make sense, the fucker seems incompetent.'
He flips off everyone before turning around to leave, walking past the guards without interruption although some give him look at him as he passes by, leaving the courtroom which is almost dead silent apart from the sounds of Myne crying and Kane's boots hitting the floor.
The action makes the King seethe in rage while Myne is rather disappointed at not being able to fool the Spear Hero, she would rather have her first pick of the Heroes and that was Kane but she's fine with taking one of the other two.
Kane speed walks out the castle, almost at the gate entrance separating the castle from the town.
'Hope I can find Naofumi I want to give her the slime I got earlier.' Kane looks ahead to see in the far distance what looks to be Naofumi walking off he smiles and quickly rushes to her.
Naofumi stops, hearing the rushing footsteps behind her and turns around ready to fight off whoever is rushing up to her but is surprised to see Kane standing before her. "What do you want Stone? I'm the weakest so I can't waste any time."
Kane shakes his head. "You're not weak Shieldy, I-I've got some stuff for you that should give you boost."
Naofumi scoffs. "I don't need your charity Stone."
Kane shakes his head. "Think of it more as an apology I shouldn't of believe that bitch and I should of spoke up early."
"You did more then enough, I would say you did too much everyone in there was starting to turn on you."
"Look I don't care what they think but that doesn't matter, just please take the materials it will make me feel better knowing you'll be safer with this."
Naofumi eyes soften and lets out a long sigh. "…Fine I guess it wouldn't hurt to have something to boost my stats."
Kane smiles and pulls out the Royal Guard Slime from his inventory, Naofumi becomes shocked at how Kane pulled out the monster material out of nowhere. "How did you do that?"
"…Do what?" Kane tilts his head in confusion.
Naofumi rolls her eyes. "Pull that out of nowhere, what else."
"It's my inventory don't you have one?"
Naofumi quickly opens her menu to look for it before a nasty scowl shows on her face. "No I don't, this useless fucking Shield."
Kane looks confused. "Are you sure?"
Naofumi's head instantly snaps to Kane giving him a dirty look. "Of course I'm sure you idiot."
Kane put a hand to his chin. "Alright maybe try and imagine your Shield has a portal that leads to I dunno a pocket dimension or something."
Naofumi tries once, fails and immediately gives up. "It doesn't fucking work Stone! Just give me the damn thing you wanted to give me."
Kane sighs and places the Royal Guard Slime onto the gem of Naofumi's Shield to placate her. It absorbs it while Naofumi is reading it's stats Kane pulls out Royal Squire Slime and places it the same place allowing it to be absorbed.
Kane looks at Naofumi to find a slight smile on her face Kane chuckles "Good to see that pretty thing isn't gone."
Naofumi looks at Kane and scowls. "Did you get any skills?"
Naofumi crosses her arms. "I did."
"Any good?"
"They were alright."
Kane shakes his head and chuckles. "Stay safe out there Shieldy."
Kane turns to leave but Naofumi speaks up. "Stone." He turns around, staring at Naofumi as she looks off to the side, anger still clearly visible in her eyes but hidden behind the rage lies gratitude. "…I-I owe you for this." Naofumi looks to the side.
Kane gives a smile and responds. "You don't owe me anything Shieldy."
Naofumi looks at his eyes. "…See you later." she turns around and moves on Kane does the same.
2 hours later.
Kane finds himself at the Adventurer's guild to look for a few jobs. It seems his party members left him. Defending Naofumi did have it's consequences but in his mind it was completely worth it. 'I'm alone now so I gotta get stronger. Don't want to die to a overgrown slime, that would just be embarrassing.' He sighs and takes a job notice and looks at the description of it.
Cu## Ba##oons.
The words are partially illegible to Kane but he's able to translate enough to know what the job is asking of him. He decides to watch more of the people in the guild as listening to them speak and point at jobs is slowly helping Kane understand the language. To no one's surprise pretty much everyone is talking about the trial of Naofumi but weirdly enough not a single mention of Kane defending her, he sighs and gets up to go complete the job he's taken, wanting to take his mind off everything that's just happened.
Bonus Scene: Shield Tsunderes eat free.
Kane walks back to the Inn, recently just turned in a quest he accepted where he had to kill a pack of oversized ants, he shakes his head at it. 'Antie's family members are assholes.' He walks pass people who all smile at him and point, the Hero worship was kinda interesting at first in Kane's mind but it's quickly worn off it's novelty, he finds out that he doesn't really like being placed on a pedestal, he just ignores it however, if his presence makes them feel better then he was all for it but when it came to people running out and bowing to him he quickly put a stop to it, which unknowingly to him just made him even more popular with how humble he is.
Kane walks along the stone paved path, a familiar sight is infront of him. Naofumi. Kane wouldn't lie, the sight of Naofumi did hurt. Her hair is tattered and unkempt, although it's still clean it doesn't look like it's been groomed at all for some time, her mouth seemingly stuck as a frown while her eyes were bloodshot, with dark circles surrounding her sockets. But the look in her eyes hurt him the most, the rage and misery within the eyes. Her eyes constantly darting around as if expecting something to happen. His mood sours upon seeing this and walks up to Naofumi, who doesn't notice him as she's too busy watching around her then in front of her. It's only when he gets within a few feet of her does she look up, expecting something bad as no one really stands in her way when she walks around the town, the people rather move to the sides and insult her as she walks by.
Finding Kane standing infront of her was honestly the best person to stop in her walking, it could of been a civilian coming to spit at her, or another adventurer attempting to trick her into allowing them to join her party just so they could later attempt to steal from her. "...How are you Shieldy?"
Naofumi glares at him, her frown deepening. "How do you think dumbass?"
Kane gives a humourless chuckle, staring at the ground. "Yeah, that was a stupid question." Naofumi's stomach grumbles, she rubs it, kissing her teeth. "...You want to go get something to eat?"
Naofumi looks up at him. "I don't exactly have the money to go out eating."
"Come with me then, I'll pay for it."
Naofumi stares at him in suspicion. "And why would you do that?"
Kane casually shrugs, a sad smirk on his face. "I'm worried about you, come on, you don't have to worry about paying a dime."
Naofumi crosses her arms, thinking on it but the hunger makes her quickly decide, she sighs. "...Fine."
Kane smile gains a more joyful tone to it, walking past Naofumi. "Follow me then Shieldy." Naofumi does as he says and follows him, the two enter a Inn and order a meal. Kane paying for it all. The public notices the Spear and Shield Hero walking together, confusing them on why the Spear would associate with someone they consider evil.
So, here's chapter 2 and now that's out of the way the story can progress a bit more in hopefully unique ways.
Also, Naofumi doesn't believe in the inventory due to how soon after the trial Kane tried showing her she wasn't really in the right mindset to believe anyone regardless of who it is.
