Chapter:15 On Their Way
A year has passed and on a village in the Kingdom of Mistral, Ruby and Team JNPR are on their way to Haven with their new looks and outfits as they are also grown up.
Ruby has her hair has grown slightly longer that maintains the color gradation from black at the roots to red at the tips and her new design sports a white high-neck décolletage blouse with brown studded wristbands on the arms. Her outfit retains the use of a black skirt with red tulle underneath, somewhat similar to her original outfit, but her waist cincher has been replaced with an overbust corset with a red strip holding it in place. A black belt bordered in red holds the magnetic clip for Crescent Rose and its ammunition. She also has brown straps on her blouse that allow her to wear a small brown backpack.
In lieu of her usual full black stockings, Ruby wears thigh-high stockings reaching to a few inches below the hem of her skirt, decorated by an image of a long-stemmed rose. Her red-soled black boots contain four straps and buckles apiece.
Her cloak has a singular clip on the right shoulder in the shape of her emblem, replacing the cross-shaped clips from her original attire. Both the cloak and the stockings show tears from hard wear.
Jaune still has his black hoodie and armor. but he wears black gloves with gold-colored metal armor plates over his fingers, and he appears to wear a red sash around his waist, like his girlfriend Pyrrha. He wears dark brown laced boots and a single brown belt with a pouch included worn around his waist.
Nora has her hair is now shoulder-length, she has pink eyeshadow around the far upper corners of her eyes. She retains her gloves and wears a white sleeveless turtleneck top that is similar to her old one, though the heart cut-out on the top has a diagonal cut through it. She also wears a shorter, detached white sleeve on her left arm. Over the shirt, she wears an open cropped, short-sleeved navy blue bomber jacket with a damaged print of her emblem visible on the back and pink stripes along the sleeves alongside pink buckled cuffs. and redlining on the collar. She wears a pleated pink skirt with two wide belt loops for matching belt, the skirt has a white layered tulle. She wears knee-high pink socks just visible above her white calf-length boots with pink laces and black low heels, soles, and toes. She also has her pink belt containing her Pokeballs.
Ren wears his hair down, and it has grown longer. His attire is similar to before in color. He now has a longer, sleeveless tailcoat with black and silver trimming. Under it, he wears a black, sleeveless turtleneck with red, tasseled ropes over the hips, pants that get tighter below the knees, and calf-high open-toed sandals. From his middle finger to his biceps run gradient pink-to-black detached sleeves ending in metal armbands.
And lastly, Pyrrha has let her hair down to her shoulders which covered her headgear from her luscious red hair, and a small bronze gorget on her neck. She wears a black Pumpkin Pete tank top that shows her midriff. Over it, she wears a bronze breastplate under a red cloth that is tied at her right shoulder and to her left arm, and her left shoulder is covered by a three-layer bronze pauldron and still retain her bracelet on her right arm. She still has her mini skirt and sash but the sash was longer and is being held by three bronze chains that are encircling her emblem, and a thin bronze band around her waist. She has a pair of black bands that covered her lower arms and only has a single bronze vambrace on her right lower arm. She retains her black stockings, cuisses, and boots, but the left cuisse only reached her knee while her right covered most of her thigh.
Currently, they have to argue about their new team for now.
"I'm a leader too," Ruby pouted.
"We can't have an R at the beginning of JNPR, so you have to have yours in the back," Jaune said with finality.
"Come on~ we can think of one," Rub whine.
"Ruby we have a Grimm to slay, we continue this later," Pyrrha said.
"Okay fine," Ruby then huff with her arms crossed.
They continued walking till they feel the ground rumbling and saw Bacchus in the air calling out to them
"It's here," Jaune said everyone readied their weapons and Nora let out the rest of her Pokemon team.
Caimen, Monarch, Wooly, Ferno, and Tiny stood behind them along with Bacchus to protect them from behind as they quickly went into the forests to investigate.
After entering the forest, the five teens and six Pokemons are now fighting a bunch boulders with a mask on the middle boulder.
This was a Geist possessing a bunch of stone which makes a Petra Gigas.
Caimen used Surf to weaken the giant behemoth with Wooly firing off Discharges that slightly effects the Grimm.
Ruby and Pyrrha are on the tress firing off bullets at it as Ren and Nora were firing behind it with Monarch, and lastly Jaune fighting along with the other Pokemons in close range as he has Bacchus as support.
Jaune quickly rolled to the ground to avoid an overhead swing from the Gigas and proceeds to get closer while Caimen held on the used arm and used Ice Fang on it. Ruby and Pyrrha fired at the Geist's mask, but it quickly used its other arm to block it, so Bacchus tried to cut its arm off with Wing Attack while Ren and Nora tried to weaken it.
Tiny then came to Caimen's aid and both of them start to pull the Gigas down while Monarch blind it with Stun Spore. Ferno used this as an opportunity to use Dig to sink the Grimm to the ground while Jaune weaken its legs. Wooly continued to fire off more attacks as the Gigas is slowly getting paralyzed from the multiple shocks it's getting.
The ground then cave in as Jaune quickly jump away for the Petra Gigas to fall in a deep pit made by Ferno as the Legendary Pokemon came out in a safe distance.
"Now!" Jaune shouted as everyone fired all of their attacks to the Gigas with bullets and elemental attacks completely obliterated it along with the Geist.
"Yeah we did it!" Nora cheered as she gave high fives to her team while her Pokemons cheered with her.
"With minimum time as well," Ren commented.
"Well there are ten of us," Pyrrha added as Nora's Pokemon nodded with her.
"Well we couldn't do it without the effort of others," Jaune said as everyone agreed.
"We should go back to town," Ruby said as everyone then walk away out of the forests.
The group then reached the town as Ruby is currently shaking hands with the mayor of the town while Team JNPR is behind her.
"We truly can't thank you enough," The mayor said in gratitude.
"Just doing our job, sir," Ruby said.
"That Geist had been plaguing our village for weeks. We were beginning to wonder if we'd have to relocate," The mayor said to them as they smiled for they're good deed.
"Well, we are on our way to Mistral. You could always come along with us if you don't feel safe," Ruby suggested as they imagined the happy life in the village.
"Ha. I take it you're not from these parts. Anima is a large continent. I'm afraid our people would never survive the long trek to Mistral. It may be safer in the Kingdoms, but we prefer our way of life. I just wish we could pay you more," The mayor said to them.
"Our previous arrangement is more than sufficient," Ren said as they bowed to the mayor respectfully.
Hours later, the group are in a local blacksmith as there stood a Bull Faunus setting down a set of armor.
"There you go, son. It's going to be heavier than what you're used to, but you'll thank me the next time you go up against a set of claws," The blacksmith said as he shoved the armor to Jaune.
"Thanks sir, couldn't have it without your help," Jaune said in gratitude.
"Well try it on, I'll go get the rest," The blacksmith said as he went back inside his shop.
"So, what are you waiting for?" Nora said to her leader and points to the new chestplate now lined with gold.
"Oh, uh, right!" Jaune said as he quickly took off his old chestplate. "Guess I was going to grow out of it eventually."
"A sign of progress," Ren said.
"Progress," Jaune could only mutter as he turns around which caused Ruby to cover her mouths to stop her giggling.
"What is it?" Ruby asked as she points to the bunny emblem on Jaune's hoodie.
"What, my hoodie? I've always had this," Jaune said but it didn't stop making Ruby more amused.
Ruby snorted and said, "It's got a cute little bunny rabbit!"
Ruby then began to laugh hysterically as Jaune grew annoyed and said, "It's Pumpkin Pete! You know, from the cereal?"
"What did you do?! Send in a box top for a prize?" Ruby asked as she kept laughing.
Jaune turned away and said, "Yeah! Fifty!"
Ruby kept laughing till she fall over to the ground and is still laughing.
"Well, I suppose we don't have to grow out of everything," Ren said as Ruby is now kicking the air as her stomach was in pain from the laughter.
The blacksmith then came back as he stabbed Jaune's modified sword on the table, despite the upgrades, Jaune knew that the blessing is still on the bladr itself.
"Can't have a Huntsman without his weapon," The blacksmith said as Jaune and Pyrrha examined the blade. "Made all the modifications you asked for."
The blacksmith gave an example by mecha shifting the blade into a shield.
"That was some fine metal you brought me. Accents the white nicely. Where'd you get it from?" The blacksmith asked as both Jaune and Pyrrha blushed.
"Ah. Well..." Jaune could only do was hold Pyrrha's hand which caused the Champion to blush, and the blacksmith chuckled when he sees this.
"Ah. Young love," The blacksmith said much to the new couple's charging.
Outside the blacksmith, Ruby, Nora, Pyrrha, and Ren are waiting for Jaune, and the blonde kinght came out in his new armor as he pull out his sword and expanded his shield.
"He cleans up alright, don't you think?" The blacksmith said as he also walk outside.
"He really does," Ren commented.
"I still think a grenade launcher would've really brought the look together," Nora said.
"No it wouldn't," Pyrrha disagreed completely.
"Nothing's gonna stop Ruby and Team JNPR now!" Ruby boasted.
"Good thing you are not adding your letter in our team," Nora said.
"It doesn't matter what we're called. As long as we're together," Jaune said as everyone agreed.
"You kids sure you won't stick around? You've been real good to this town," The blacksmith said.
"Sorry, but we've got another mission," Ruby said.
"Make it to Haven Academy, no matter what," Nora said with determination.
"We've heard the next village over has a working Airship," Ren asked.
"Mmm, no way to know for sure. Scroll signals were weak enough out here back when Beacon Tower was still up. Haven't heard from Shion Village in a while," The blacksmith informed them.
"Well, there's only one way to find out," Ruby said as her and Team JNPR wave at the blacksmith and left, and the blacksmith waved back and grunts.
"Got everything we need?" Jaune asked.
"Yep," Nora said.
"Food?"
"Check!"
"Water?"
"Check!"
"How about ammo?"
"Lock and loaded! Thank you, Schnee Dust Company!"
"Got the map?"
Ruby looked down sadly.
"Ren's got it," Nora said as she points to Ren, but he shook his head.
"No, I don't. You have it," Ren said.
"Wait, what?"
"I don't have it either," Pyrrha said.
"Guys, please tell me you're joking," Jaune said as he grew slightly worried.
"Uh.. heh-heh-heh," Nora looked around nervously.
"Guys! Guys? Guys..." Jaune then sighed as he knew the answer.
"Nope," Nora said.
In the Kingdom of Atlas, in the slums once called the capital of Atlas, standing on a balcony of a simple building is Vic now grown up by the years that comes.
He still wear the same, but his height is now 4'8 and his hair is slightly spikier.
Perching on the railings beside him is Temari as she now has a simple string necklace with an emerald on it.
"Its been months that we have separated with everyone. Good thing we celebrated my birthday after we left, but I still miss them you know," Vic said as he look up to see the flying city of Atlas hanging over them.
"Swel!" Temari agreed with him as well but she was quite adapt to long distance traveling to meet Fox anytime she once, so she knows that her trainer couldn't do the same with his friends.
"What do you think they are doing now? Probably some fighting, and we stay here waiting for them. Kinda boring you know, but we did promise them. The only problem is that granny on the border," Vic said as she remembered that cranky old woman from the border in Argus, the coastal part of Atlas.
"Victor? Are you in here?" Vic then looks back to see Penny, now fully repaired, but now look different after the Fall of Beacon.
Penny wears an olive green German styled dress with a black hem that is striped with emerald green. The abdominal region is black with four golden buttons with matching buckles on her shoulder straps. She also wears an off-white blouse with puffy shoulders, frilled flared cuffs, and vertical black lining down the front center. Her collar piece does away with the green accents and is instead finished with a black ribbon, another power button at its center that switches on and off when Penny is inactive or active.
Penny wears black metal legs pieces that run-up to her thighs, there's a green stripe that runs down the sides, with a large green circle at the top and a small one at the bottom, both outlined with gold and capable of lighting up too. The knee piece of her legwear is heavily defined to look sperate from the leg pieces. She has a trio of jets in the lower rear part of her leg pieces that granted Penny the ability of flight. She also wears a pair of black low heeled metal boots with the tops hidden by the lower part of her leg pieces.
She also wears a pair of black lacy cuffed gloves with golden stud detailing on the knuckles. She also retains her silver backpack on her back carrying Floating Array.
"I'm here Penny!" Vic called out to her as Penny went to the balcony and hugged him.
"You were worried again, weren't you?" Penny asked.
"Was I that obvious?" Vic joked as the two of them chuckled.
"You know that they'll be fine," Penny assured.
"Can't I be the worried little brother that wants to know what happens to his big sister?"
"Oh stop it already," Penny said as she softly punches Vic on his shoulder and both of them chuckle.
Both of them look at each other for a moment then the two kissed each other, and quickly released it.
"I love you. You know that right?" Vic asked.
"I know," Penny said as the two embraced each other.
"Ah, is my little Darling having time with his Prince Charming?" The two then froze as they look inside to see a crippled man sitting there.
He is an elderly man with dark skin and short, balding white hair. He wears a green cap with oval-shaped glasses.
He wears a red vest over a cream shirt with a pink bowtie. His dark mustard pants and leather boots match with his cap and red-brown belt.
He uses a special chair to aid himself with movement. This chair is built to have four moveable legs, and is white and green in color, with yellow accents.
"Mister Polendina!/ Father!" The two shouted in embarrassment to see the elderly man as he chuckled at the two teens red faces.
"How many times I have to tell you Victor to call me Pietro," The now named Pietro said as Vic look down in embarrassment while Temari look very chirpy to see her trainer blushing.
"Also you got a letter young man," Pietro said as he grabbed the letter in his pocket and gave it to Vic.
Vic took it and quickly opened and read it.
The Polendinas and Temari look at him curiosly till Vic look at them.
"Hey Pietro, do you have a suit?" Vic asked.
"Why yes I do, I still kept my older ones, so why do you ask?" Pietro asked.
"Well..." Vic then showed them the letter and were shock to see Ironwood's signature on it. "I have a party to go to."
And that is it for the fourth volume of the series.
I'm really on the roll now, this story was really special for me to make as this gave me the confidence to make more RWBY stories that either the series only or a crossover with the RWBY world being the main scene.
I'm still here complaining till someone began to give every fandoms very accurate transcripts that matched the ones in RWBY. There are a lot of stories from series like Naruto and Bleach, but it will slowly disappear if no other authors doesn't even know the series and could only watch it back, which will take very long for an update, and replay it everytime to get the lines.
Those are rising in numbers because of the people watching it before, but they will soon be forgotten because no one will ever remember those series if something catches their interest on it.
