Chapter:16 A Day to Remember

In Atlas, on the main capital of the Kingdom, Weiss is walking down the hallway of the Schnee Manor as she is now in a different outfit.

She now wears a short, glittering dress with a color gradation of gray blue to pale blue at the hem, a sweetheart neckline, and a white, tulle petticoat.

A white sash is wrapped multiple times around her waist, and over the outfit is worn a slightly sheer long-sleeved gray blue bolero fastened at the collar with a large sapphire broach that has three pendants dangling from it. Printed on the back of the shrug is the Schnee Crest. Completing her attire are gray blue wedge heels and sapphire drop earrings.

Right now, she continued walking down the long, carpeted hallway of blue, white and gray. Protruding columns from the walls are decorated with black sconces and lit candles. Nature paintings are hung in an alternating pattern between the columns. There is also the occasional cushioned chair or round coffee table placed along the walls.

Next, she is seen walking along an upper-level balcony above a large dining hall. A white and green floral centerpiece decorates the white-clothed table. Every column both above and below bears a sconce, but these candles are not lit. Beside Weiss on the balcony are large arch-shaped openings with white gauze curtains. Through one of the curtains, a crystal chandelier can be seen in another room. There is a shut, brown wooden door in the direction Weiss is heading.

Weiss walks down a wide stairway with curving balconies on either side above it. Large armor statues fill the space on either side of the bottom stairs. Behind Weiss, a paned triptych of arched windows lets in the sun, casting her shadow onto the blue-carpeted steps in front of her. The floor at the bottom of the stairs has a blue and white oval design in its center. Both levels have open archways leading to other rooms.

Walking in another room with blue and white floor patterns, Weiss strides pass a life-size statue of a King Taijitu without looking up. Once again, both the lower level and the balcony level have open archways and unlit sconces. A chandelier hangs from the ceiling.

An upward view shows that the chandelier is in the middle of a blue and white circular pattern that matches the floor pattern from the previous room.

From the point of view of a music room, Weiss is seen walking down another hallway. In the music room is a large grand piano with open sheet music.

Weiss walks alone in the hallway, never having looked up the entire time.

"Good afternoon, sister," Weiss then suddenly got startled as she look up to see a young boy that is slightly shorter and younger than her as the boy slightly bowed to her.

He has white hair and light blue eyes with a fair complexion. His hair is mostly pushed to left, although he does have a cowlick. He is fairly tall with a slender build and stands a few inches taller than Weiss.

His attire consists of a short-sleeved white dress shirt, the sleeves fastened just above his elbows by navy blue cuffs, each with twin gold buttons. Over his untucked shirt, he wears a light blue vest, with a black handkerchief in his right breast pocket. He also wears a black necktie, navy blue trousers and black dress shoes.

"A pleasure to see you out of your room for a change," The boy said.

Weiss sidesteps him and turns to speak, "Hello, Whitley. You're in a cheery mood today."

The now named Whitley then moves to face her the effect is that of the two of them briefly circling each other, "Klein made crepes for breakfast." He clasps his hands behind his back and smirks at her.

"What do you want?" Weiss asked.

"I heard Father shouting with someone in his study earlier," Whitley said.

"Mother?" Weiss questioned.

"No, she's already drinking in the garden. I think it was a man," Whitley said as Weiss raised her head. He then put on a fake concerned look. "I just wanted to warn you. I heard he had asked to speak with you."

"I'll be fine," Weiss assured but she saw the fake look miles away.

"I know you will. You are strong, like Winter," Whitley said as he mentioned the eldest sibling.

"You never liked Winter."

"True, but you can't deny her resolve," Whitley pointed out.

"You... seem different," Weiss questioned.

"And you've been gone. I'll have you know I didn't stop growing while you were away at Beacon," He said as he turns and walks away. As he does so, the lower half of a family portrait can just be seen on the wall between where the two were standing.

"Anyway, good luck with Father!" Whitley called out to Weiss as he finally is gone from view.

After he was gone, Weiss responds, "Thank you."

She continued walking forward as she passed the portrait of her, Winter, and Whitley when they were younger with two adults with them.

But unbeknownst to her, a pair of beady eyes watched the whole thing and is slowly went away.

Ruby and Team JNPR are in the road again as Ruby has a map on her hand.

"So the next town is... uh-huh... uh-huh... We're lost," Ruby bluntly stated.

"We're not lost. The next town is Shion. My family used to visit it all the time," Jaune pointed out to lift up the mood.

"Oh yeah. Don't you have, like, four sisters?" Ruby guessed.

"Uh, seven," Jaune shyly said as Ruby and Pyrrha giggled.

"You know, that actually explains a lot," Nora said as if she solved a long lost case.

"Wait, what do you mean?" Jaune asked in confusion.

"So, what did you guys do there?" Ruby asked.

"Oh, all sorts of stuff! Over here is a great hiking trail, and over here is where we went camping all the time. I got my own tent because I was special. Also, so my sisters would stop braiding my hair," Jaune said as he shuddered from the memory.

"Didn't like the look?" Ruby questioned.

"Yeah, they just kept doing pigtails, but personally, I think I'm more of a "warrior's wolftail" kind of guy," Jaune said.

"That's just a ponytail," Ruby pointed out.

"And what's wrong with that?" Jaune rebutted as Pyrrha giggled at that.

Nora suddenly stops short, raising her hands to her lips as her eyes widen. Soon after, Ren stops, visibly tense.

"Uh, guys?" Nora called out to the other three members.

"Huh?"

"What?"

The three look up from the map. Their eyes widen and jaws drop. In front of them is a desolated village. The sky is gray and two columns of smoke rise in the air. A gazebo has a broken tower and lampposts are askew from the ground. At least one dead body can be seen on the side of the road approaching the town.

The map is dropped and all four rush forward. They briskly move into the town, looking around. Ren tosses his backpack on the ground and moves ahead while the other four gather in the middle of a road.

"There could be survivors!" Ruby tried to assure the group.

"Over here!" Ren called out from the distance.

The other four rush to where Ren is leading them. On the ground, sitting propped against a broken building wall is a young man in armor. He breathes heavily and holds his hand against a bleeding wound in his abdomen. Ren drops by his side and puts his hand on his shoulder.

"A Huntsman!" Ruby shouted in worry as everyone gathered up with the man.

"What happened? Who killed all these people?" Jaune said as he wanted to know what happened.

The Huntsman cough and said "Bandits. The whole tribe... Then, with all the panic..."

The Huntsman couldn't finish as he began to cough repeatedly which worried the group of five.

"Grimm," Ren said as he stands and walks a few paces away, placing his hands atop his head. Ruby, Jaune, Pyrrha, and Nora step away to confer.

"Alright, we can get him to the next village and try to find a doctor there!" Ruby said.

"Yeah. Ren and I can take turns carrying him there," Jaune suggested.

"I might help as well," Pyrrha suggested as well.

"I don't know if he'll make it. Even if Monarch helps with us," Nora said with a solemn look.

"He will. He has to," Jaune said as Pyrrha agreed with him.

Ruby turns and looked to the Huntsman and said, "If we get going now, our chances will be better. I can run ahead and look for help!"

"Guys," Ren shattered the mood as the four look at the Huntsman and saw that he was already dead.

"Should we bury him?" Nora asked ad they feel a dark feeling in their chest.

Ren walks right past them without a backward glance and said, "We should go. It's not safe here."

"Ren..." Nora tried to stop him but decided to follow him. Pyrrha puts her hand on Jaune's arm. He is looking stressed and sad.

"It'll be okay," Pyrrha assured.

"I'm just tired to see this happening," Jaune said as he tightened his fists.

Ren stops and looks at something on the ground, his eyes widening. A cloven hoofprint is impressed into the ground. Nora comes up to his side. She sees the same mark and her eyes also widen in recognition. The two of them silently make eye contact.

Back with Weiss, the heiress is currently waiting outside a door in the manor as she heard a commotion on the other side of the room. and she hesitated to grab the doorknob.

"I'm not talking about the good of my company; I'm talking about the good of Atlas, our entire Kingdom!" Weiss heard a familiar male voice in it.

"That is a load of garbage and you know it," She then heard the voice of General Ironwood as she entered the room.

She saw the General sitting on a chair in front of a bookcase, while arguing to a man standing beside his desk.

The man is fair-skinned with white, slicked-back hair. He has a large, thick mustache and cold blue eyes.

He is seen wearing a pure white double-breasted blazer with a red handkerchief in the breast pocket. Underneath, he wears a light-blue dress shirt, vest and a white clip-on tie, printed with the same emblem on his shoes and above his study. He has a silver-colored ring on his right hand.

James also have a change of clothing as he is now slightly less pristine. He has grown stubble and his hair is slightly messier. He wears a white, double-breasted tailcoat with dark blue and black accents, most notable at the cuffs and shoulder pieces. The coat is belted at the waist. Underneath, Ironwood has a black collared shirt and a red tie. He also now wears two white gloves, in contrast to wearing only one on his right hand. His pants are no longer tucked inside military boots but instead hang over the black boots.

"Jacques, will you please, just hear me out?" James tried to talk out with the now named Jacques, but the white haired man roughly place his glasz on the table.

"You are a trusted friend and ally to this family, James, but what you're suggesting is absurd!" Jacques yelled at the General in outrage.

"You are blowing it out of proportion."

"The council will never agree to it!"

"You forget, I hold two seats on the council."

"Your Dust embargo has already cost me millions!I can promise you, I have not forgotten!"

"So this is about you."

Weiss entered the room while listening to the two men's bickering awkwardly till the door was slammed shut behind her and startled her. It also caused the two men to look where she stood.

"Miss Schnee! My apologies. I should have been gone by now," James said as he bowed to her.

"It-it's okay," Weiss stuttered.

"We'll continue this at another time," Jame said to Jacques.

"Indeed. Klein can show you out."

"Don't worry, I know the way," James insisted as he stood up from his seat. Weiss stepped away for the General to pass through, but James stop and looked at Jacques. "Until next time, Jacques."

Jacques nods at him solemnly, then the General look at Weiss.

"Please know, you'll always have a home at Atlas Academy, Miss Schnee. We'll be back in session before you know it," James said as he finally leave the two Schnees in the room.

"Did you forget your manners while you were away?" Jacques said with a hint of irritation as he went to his desk. Weiss looked annoyed by this but calmed down with a sigh.

"No, Father. I'm sorry," Weiss said.

"Can you believe there are still people in the world that blame Atlas for what happened to Beacon? To Vale?" Jacques complained.

"Well, they weren't there," Weiss pointed out as she walk over to Jacques' desk.

"It's a wonder Ironwood wasn't stripped of his rank," He said as he finally sat down, and turned his seat for his back to face Weiss. "I suppose the council trusts him, for better or worse."

"I trust him."

Jacques sighed as he turn back to his daughter, "Thanks to him, Atlas is forbidden from exporting Dust to other Kingdoms. "A precautionary measure", as he puts it, "until we're certain no one is going to declare war". How anyone could possibly find that to be sound logic is beyond me."

Weiss blinked as she was clearly uncomfortable right now.

"Which is why the Schnee Dust Company will be holding a charity concert in the coming weeks," Jacques said as Weiss look at him in surprise. "We need to show the people of Remnant that we are on their side. That we are all victims of the fall of Beacon."

"That's... wonderful news," Weiss was unsure of this after what happened before.

"I know. And I think it would make a lot of people happy if you performed at the event."

"Excuse me?" Weiss asked in shock.

"Many forget that you were there. My own daughter, a Schnee, on the grounds, defending another Kingdom! We need to remind them! And we need to show them that the Schnee family is just as strong as ever!" Jacques declared.

"Are you asking me if I'd like to sing, or telling me?" Weiss asked but her father leaned father as he makes a tent with his fingers, and gave her a meaningful gaze.

"I'll start practicing."

"That's... my girl."

Weiss then left the room, only for her to see one of the manor's butlers holding a tray with a mug on it, but this one butler is very special to her.

He is a short, slightly heavyset man with balding brown hair and a large mustache.

He wore white collar long sleeves shirt, black vest, and cyan tie, black trousers, and black shoes. In additional, he carries a pocketwatch in his person to keep track on time.

"Hot coffee, Miss Schnee? I always find he keeps his study dreadfully cold," The butler offered as Weiss took the mug and smiled.

"Thank you, Klein."

"You know what I think?" Klein lifts the tray to cover his face before dropping it dramatically as he leans forward toward Weiss making a less-than-formal face, his brown eyes having turned red.

"I think it's to balance out all his hot air," Klein said in an accent with a gruff voice. Weiss' eyes widen in delight and she turns and looks over her shoulder at the closed office door. She turns back to Klein with a giggle.

"Klein!" Weiss said as the two giggle together before he fakes a sneeze, and his eyes turn blue.

"Uh, apologies, madam," Klein then said in a high-pitched tone

Klein pretends to sneeze again. Weiss giggles merrily, hiding her smile behind her hand. Klein wiggles his mustache and looks up. His eyes turn yellow.

"Ah, there's my happy little snowflake," Klein said happily.

Weiss breathes a sigh that releases some weight off her shoulders, and she gives the butler a genuine grin.

"Thank you, Klein."

Unbeknownst to the two, the same pair of beady eyes look at them as it gave a cute sound when it saw Weiss happy.

Back in Vale, there stood Shori, now very tall and an indication of a beard on his chin, standing by the edge of a cliff as he watched the now Grimm infested land of Beacon being overrun by the very monster that invaded it.

Sitting beside him is Rash the Venusaur as he now have a metallic band around his flower with his Mega Stone on it.

"What do you think is happening out there Rash?" Shori asked as Rash thought about it, and gave a quiet call of his name to show his worries. "Yeah I'm worried too, but Seier's predictions were never wrong. I sometimes question it but is there really something to worry about."

Rash shrug at this but agreed nonetheless.

"I know the kids can handle it, they are tough and brave, but I really worry if they continue this. I know that the world is in stake; I mean I have to battle a mafia, Vic stopping two forces of nature, and Seier have to battle the creature that is equivalent to the God of Darkness of Remnant, and we did it in our preteens. Not to mention our curses that we had to endure before it broke," Shori then sigh as he sat down beside the Seed Pokemon. "And I have a kid of my own coming soon, I really feel terrified because of what will happen if our kid is finally born; how do we do it, what food do we choose, and how can we protect her. Uh, everything is so frustrating, I might get some tips from Tai after this."

He then felt his Scroll vibrating as he pick it up and answered, "Hello?"

"My water broke!" Seier's voice called out through the device as Shori's eyes widen.

"I'm coming!" Shori then returned Rash and threw Alpha's Pokeball as the Bird Pokemon appeared before him "We need to get to Seier quickly! The baby is coming and we need to bring her to the hospital!"

Alpha nods as he fly in mach speed as he has a wife to get to.

Like Seier says, the next generation will change the world.

Pokemon Study: Natures

2 days before the battle has ever yet started, Shori and Seier are back in their classroom for another lesson for the children.

"Hello again everyone for another lesson in Pokemon Study. Today, we will be talking about Pokemon Natures," Shori said.

"Pokemon Natures are more specifically their dominant personalities that modifies some of their stats except for Health," Seier said.

"And there only 25 Natures existed," This made the students cheer for the lower number.

They did finish the first, but they weren't halfway with the second, so its a break that today has a more lower number.

"So what is Nature? Well like we said, Nature modifies the stat, the Nature itself can only modify two stats, but the drawback is that one increases and the other decreases which will identify what style of battling the Pokemon does," Shori said.

"We will start off to the Natures that boost the Attack stat. Lonely, Brave, Adamant, and Naughty boost the Attack stat but decreases Defense, Speed, Special Attack, and Special Defense respectively. Having the Lonely Nature will be suited for strong glass cannons, Brave is more fit for slower Pokemon, Adamant to Pokemons that mainly use Physical Moves, and Naughty is the same as Lonely but with Special Moves."

"Next is the Natures that boost the Defense stat. Bold, Relaxed, Impish, and Lax boost the Defense stat but decreases the Attack, Speed, Special Attack, and Special Defense respectively. Most of these Natures will make the Pokemon more defensive physically but its other stat is in the okay side of things."

"Next are for the Speed stat. Timid, Hasty, Jolly, and Naive boost the Speed stat but decreases Attack, Defense, Special Attack, and Special Defense respectively. This Natures are better work with slower and more tankier Pokemons since those Natures will help them in the long run, but it can be effective as well for fast offensive Pokemon that mainly have Hasty or Naive."

"Next are for the Special Attack stat. Modest, Mild, Quiet, and Rash boost the Special Attack stat but decreases Attack, Defense, Speed, and Special Defense respectively. It is the same with the Attack boosting Natures but these Natures are mostly used by Special attackers."

"Next are for the Special Defense stat. Calm, Gentle, Sassy, and Careful boosts the Special Defense stat but decreases the Attack, Defense, Speed, and Special Attack respectively. It is the same with the Defense boosting Natures but they are mostly used by Special tanks."

"Lastly Natures that does not increase nor decrease any stat at all. Hardy, Docile, Serious, Bashfull, and Quirky Natures are best for everything since it doesn't change anything at all."

"So that is it for now. Now I want everyone of you to what happens if these Natures are used by every Pokemon," Seier said as everyone began to pale again as they began to mourn for all of their free time. "I expect them be done in our next class."

Everyone began to cry to the harsh assignments Seier giving them, but it will never disappear. Ever.

Omake end
