Chapter:19 Menagerie, Monster, and Scorpion
The sound of blaring horns were heard as the ship have now reached Menagerie, settlement of Faunuses. Currently, Blake and Sun are disembarking off the ship with the other passengers as the Monkey Faunus look in awe of the small homes among the dunes and palm trees while Fox the Staraptor perch on one of them.
Sun and Blake make their way from the deck to the offramp. She proceeds without pause while Sun stops to look at the town.
"Huh," Sun said as he saw several Faunus in summer wear meander casually at the dock, some waiting for friends or family among the new arrivals. The dock is also a commercial area, with mobile kiosks selling food and other wares. It is a relaxed atmosphere on a sunny day.
Sun is looking around while he and Blake disembark and walk through the market area together.
"I've never seen so many Faunus in one place!" Sun exclaimed as they continued walking around with Fox following them in the sky.
"This is the one place everyone can feel safe, no matter who or what they are," Blake said.
"Wow, sure is, uh, crowded, huh?"
"Yes. Yes, it is."
Sun quickly move away from a Faunus carrying a box and said, "Is it always so...cramped?"
"Well, when you try and take an entire species and put them on an island that's two-thirds desert, yeah, it tends to be cramped."
"What! You guys have that much more space? Why waste it? A little desert never hurt anyone!"
"It's not like the desert in Vacuo, Sun. The wildlife here is more dangerous than most other regions."
"So, they give us a terrible island, in the corner of Remnant, to try and shut us up."
"That's a pretty good summary, yeah."
"Huh. Jerks."
"We try to make the best of things."
The two pause in their walk to look at the view of the town the road affords. The road they are on goes downhill and to the side, bordered by palm trees and homes that have either canvas or wood roofs. The vista of palm trees spreads out to the edge of mountainous dunes in the distance. Right in the middle of all this is a large house with an open courtyard that the road appears to lead directly to. The house is at least three stories and is the only building in the whole area with a sophisticated roof.
"Whoa..." Sun could only say in awe.
"This, is Kuo Kuana," Blake said as the Monkey Faunus continued to look in awe.
"It's... beautiful. I take it all back. This place looks great! Why would anyone ever want to leave?" Sun asked as Blake grew annoyed.
"That's not the point, Sun! We asked to be equal, to be treated just like everyone else! Instead, we were given an island and told to make do. So we did the best we could. We came together and we made a home where any Faunus could feel welcome. But this island, this town, will always be a reminder that we're still not equal," Blake said as she lowered her head. "That we're still second-class citizens."
Sun saw this and put his hand on her shoulder and said, "Well, hey, this guy's feeling pretty at home."
"Alright, time to go home."
"Oh yeah?" Sun then move his hand on her other shoulder and pulled the Cat Faunus closer to him. "Which one's yours? Can you see it from here?"
Sun uses his free hand like a visor to help him peer at the houses while Fox look in interest.
"Kind of," Blake said uncaringly.
"Is it that one? What about that tiny one down there? I like the paintjob," Sun said as he points to each house.
Blake took Sun's intruding arm by the wrist and directing it toward the large house and said, "It's... that one."
Sun stares for a second before pointing his finger at her with a questioning expression. Blake nods. Sun looks at her for a beat before taking his arm off her and stepping back. He covers the sides of his head and crouches a bit, staring wide-eyed at the house and making a comical, amazed noise. Fox was also amazed as he continue to follow the two Faunuses.
Unbeknownst to them, two pair of yellow and red eyes were watching them in interest.
"Let's go tell the boss. He would like to know about this," The one with the yellow eyes said as the other nods and the two of them left.
Blake and Sun walk up the stone steps to the front door of the house while Fox perch to the nearest tree. Blake hesitates when she moves to use the knocker.
"What is it?" Sun asked.
"I um... it's just been a long time since I've seen my parents," Blake said.
"Well, you came all this way."
Blake takes a quick breath for courage and bangs the door knocker. It makes a loud, heavy, resonating sound on the large door. Sun stares up, stepping back while Blake politely backs away from the door a few paces.
Sun points up to the door and said, "Okay, if we're being honest, that's kind of intimidating."
Both Sun and Blake give a start at the sound of the door being opened. There stood a short female Cat Faunus behind it that looks too similar to Blake.
Although her ears are noticeably larger in size than Blake and have more fur details. She has short hair and three gold piercings on her cat ears - two on her right, and one on her left. She wears a black hakama and sandals with white tabi socks. Over her outfit, she wears a black shrug with a long right sleeve and a short left sleeve, gold-leaf trim adorning the opening on the front. She wears long, black arm warmers that extend to the middle finger. The left warmer has a purple band tied around the top and a pair of gold bangles around the wrist. Around her waist is a black and gold sash that trails behind her, with a gold flower-shaped buckle at the end.
Looking around at the visitors. Her ears perk and she moves the door out of the way so she can step forward when she recognizes Blake.
"Blake?" The woman said in disbelief as Blake awkwardly lifts her arm in greeting.
"Hi, mom," Blake said as the woman steps forward and hugged her.
"My baby girl," The woman said in worry. Blake hesitates, uncertain for a moment, before her face gentles into a smile and she hugs her mother back.
They stand in front of open doorway. From inside the house, footsteps come closer and a shadow falls onto the carpeted entryway.
"Kali? Who is it?" The woman lets go of Blake and turns around to see a male Faunus standing inside.
He is a tall, muscular Faunus with black hair, a thick beard and yellow eyes. For his top, he wears an open dark-violet coat with white fur trim, exposing a patch of black fur on his chest. Over his beige pants is a matching sash that wraps around his waist and is secured with a large, silver metal buckle. On the shoulder of his coat is a silver metal spaulder, which through a pair of curved strips across the chest attaches as a clasp on the opposite front panel of the coat. The white toes of his black leather boots have a shape reminiscent of paws with claws at the tips. His physique is in general quite hairy, as what little can be seen of his bare arms and the backs of his wrists are shown to be covered in thick, black fur. He also possesses protractible panther claws in his fingertips.
The man stand with his hands on his hips, waiting to greet the visitor. His quizzical expression changes to wide-eyed surprise, before his hands, shoulders, and face all fall in a clear, emotional reaction to the sight of Blake.
Sun sees this and grins, pleased at Blake's welcome as he turns to look at how she's taking it. Blake has her hands clasped in front of her, awaiting the man's reaction. The woman has not let go, with her hands supportively on Blake's shoulder and arm.
Blake's mother sets down her cup on the table. She, the muscular man, Sun and Blake all sit on the floor at a square table. Fox was resting further away from the four with a bowl of fruits near him as the two adults would always look at the Predator Pokemon in curiosity.
"We were horrified when we heard the news. The Kingdom of Vale isn't perfect, but it certainly didn't deserve what happened. Oh, we were both so worried," The woman said.
"Please, I knew she'd be fine!" The man said but the woman scoffed at his answer.
"That isn't the slightest bit true. You should have seen him pacing."
"You guys have nothing to worry about. I've seen your daughter in action before! And trust me, she's got some moves!" Sun said.
Blake, who was sipping from her cup while Sun spoke, abruptly lifts her head and swallows at his last choice of words. The man glares at the younger man on his right.
"And what exactly do you mean by that, Mr. Wukong?"
Sun freezes and slowly turns toward his host.
Fox chuckled at how the young Monkey Faunus struggled to get himself out of the he just talked himself into or keep digging as he took a bite of an apple.
In the awkward silence, Sun uses his tail to pick up the tea kettle and pour some more tea into his cup.
"This tea is really good," Sun said as he took a sip from his cup. "Heh-uh."
"I like him," The woman said a little too loud as Blake blushed.
"Mom!" Blake shouted in embarrassment while Fox snickered.
The loud sound of the front door knocker resonates, catching everyone's attention.
"Darn it, I completely forgot about the meeting!" The man said in annoyance as he hits his fist onto the table and the woman quickly covers it with her hand.
"Ghira..." The woman said in worry.
"Give me a moment," The now named Ghira assured as he get up his seat and walked out.
"Is everything okay?" Blake asked her mother.
"Yes, dear, just poor timing. He can reschedule. It's just been hard dealing with them lately," Her mother said.
"Dealing with who?" Blake asked as her mother took a sip of her cup.
"Hmm? The White Fang," She said as Blake and Sun rise to their feet in shock while Fox choke after biting another apple as he tried to use his wings to get it out his throat.
Blake and Sun rush to the door, where Ghira is speaking with two fox Faunus.
First is a dark-skinned man who wears his hair styled in a mohawk with shaved sides. His Faunus trait is a tail.
He wears a red hood that functions partially as a cloak, made of two pieces held together by yellow buttons and string. He wears a black tunic with two sections extending farther down than the rest at his front, and a hole is cut out for his tail. Both the hood and tunic have white trimming. He also wears detached white sleeves, bound at the mid-bicep and the wrists. Black gloves serve that function and attach to his middle fingers. His white pants are pleated. He wears black open-toed sandals with fabric extending up to his knees.
The second one is a dark-skinned man who wears his hair styled in a mohawk with shaved sides. His Faunus trait is a pair of fox ears
He wore a red hood that functioned partially as a cloak made of two pieces of cloth held together by buttons and string. Holes were cut in the top for his fox ears. He wore a black tunic with two sections extending farther down than the rest at his front. White trimming defined the shape of the hood and tunic. He also wore detached white sleeves, bound at the mid-bicep and the wrists. Black gloves served that function and were attached to his middle fingers. His white pants were pleated. He wore black open-toed sandals with fabric extending up to his knees.
The two visitors maintain respectful, formal postures, keeping their hands clasped before them.
"Dad!" Blake called out to Ghira as the three other men look to her direction.
"Blake, what's wrong?" Ghira asked.
"Miss Belladonna."
"We had no idea you'd returned."
Every time either one of the two speaks, they gesture with their hands and end with clasping their hands before their chests again.
"What are you doing talking to these people?" Blake demanded
"This is Corsac and Fennec Albain. They represent the White Fang here in Menagerie now," Ghira answered.
"Those psychos are here, too?!" Sun shouted in disbelief.
"Young man, I'm not sure what you've heard of our organization, but I can assure you, we're not nearly as ferocious as the media would have you believe," The brother named Fennec said but Blake abd Sun wasn't convinced.
"What we've heard? We've seen firsthand. Your fanatics slaughtered people!" Blake shouted at them.
"What is she talking about?" Ghira asked the two brothers.
"Precisely what we came to discuss with you, Your Grace," The other brother, Corsac, said.
"Is everything alright?" Blake's mother then approached them with non-chocking Fox flying by her side.
The Predator Pokemon saw the Albain brothers and gave them a fierce glare that made them flinch.
"Wait, you guys seriously don't know?" Sun asked.
"Know what?" Ghira asked dangerously.
"The White Fang was at the Fall of Beacon. They attacked innocent civilians and they released Grimm into the school," Blake answered for them.
There is a brief silence. Fennec makes an innocent, sideways glance at his brother. Ghira slowly turns to face the two White Fang representatives.
"Is this true?" Ghira demanded.
"Sadly, Your Grace, it is," Fennec said.
"Don't act like you're s—"
"That's enough!" Ghira stop Blake to say any more as he then faced the brothers. "Explain yourselves."
"Though it pains us to admit, it has become apparent that the Vale branch of the White Fang is no longer operating under orders of High Leader Khan. Rather, they've elected to follow the rule of one Adam Taurus. I believe you're all familiar with the young adept and his... extreme philosophies," Corsac said but Blake, Sun, and Fox were not convinced.
"You know, Beacon wasn't the first time the Fang started shooting up Vale!" Sun added.
"The High Council had their suspicions of a splinter group, but they could prove nothing until this latest incident," Fennec assured.
""Incident"? People are dead!" Blake reminded them angrily.
"And it is a tragedy," Corsac said.
"Your Grace, we came to assure you that Brother Taurus and his followers do not represent the will of the White Fang," Fennec assured Ghira.
"And how can I be sure of that?" Ghira asked.
"We understand if you bear any skepticism towards these claims. The White Fang's tactics are admittedly, more aggressive since you stepped down as High Leader and became Chieftain of Menagerie. But this, this is no way to make our message heard," Corsac said.
"We have ample documentation from the council meeting, as well as several strategies to apprehend and punish these strays if you care to review them," Fennec added.
"I will, but another day. I'd like some time to reconnect with my daughter," Ghira said.
"But of course, Your Grace," Corsac said.
"We completely understand. It was a pleasure to see you again, young Blake," Fennec said as Fox look at them warily.
"We were saddened when we heard of your departure from the White Fang, but understand if you can no longer support our cause."
"It is a wearying fight, after all."
"Who says I'm done fighting?" Blake rebutted.
"Hmm... If you ever do wish to return, you need merely come find us," Corsac said.
"Sister Ilia would be elated," Fennec said.
"Goodbye, gentlemen," Ghira said as he firmly closes the door on them. His wife moves to stand closer and face her husband while Blake walks off.
"So... those guys were creepy," Sun said.
"I really don't like you," Ghira admitted angrily.
Fox was still glaring at the door as he quickly through an open window and spot the two brothers going down the stairs.
The two brothers descend the steps, perfectly in sync and their formally clasped hands. Corsac, however, is now using the prayer posture that Fennec had been using all along.
"An interesting development, wouldn't you say?" Fennec said.
"Interesting indeed," Corsac said.
"So, shall we inform Brother Adam?"
"Oh, we shall."
They exchange unsettling grins as Fox watch them from above in rage, but another pair of eyes were watching them as well.
It is a cloudy day, and Ruby and Team JNPR are following a mossy stone tile path through the wilderness with Bacchus and Monarch in the air. While walking, Nora stretches her arms up wide.
"Another day, another adventure!" Nora declared.
Beside her, Jaune reads a map while Ruby, Pyrrha, and Ren continue alongside them.
"What's on the agenda today?" Ruby asked.
"Walking!" Jaune said in annoyance.
"With a side of...?" Nora said.
"Walking," Both Pyrrha and Ren said at the same time.
Ruby sigh and said, "Haven is a lot farther away than I thought."
"Ruby? How long did you think this journey was going to take?" Ren asked.
"I don't know! I grew up in a small area; I've never been this far away from home!" Ruby complained.
"Right but... how long?" Jaune asked.
"Maybe like, uh... two weeks?" Ruby said.
Jaune look up from the map to glare at the shorter redhead. "What?!"
"Okay, fine! Three or something!" Ruby said as she tried to avoid eye contact with the young knight. "Look, whatever."
Ruby looks up again after a beat and notices something ahead.
"Hey, what's that?" Ruby said as the team look to what she saw.
Nora jumps onto a slightly fallen post of a fence to get a closer look at a wall and building ahead with Bacchus and Monarch perching beside her.
"That's... strange," Jaune said as he check the map again. "I didn't think we'd be hitting another village for a few days."
"It is quite strange indeed," Pyrrha agreed as she also look ahead.
"Are those buildings... damaged?" Nora questioned.
"We should search for survivors!" Jaune ordered as he drops the map and all five go running into the village, with Nora leaping onto the wall and to a rooftop from there, and Bacchus and Monarch look in the air. They discover the town to be empty. Ruby lifts a fallen plank of wood to find only plant outgrowth underneath.
"Anything?" Ruby said.
"Nothing over here!" Nora called out.
"No one over here, either!" Jaune called out.
"Nothing as well!" Pyrrha called out as well.
"It almost seems like... the town was abandoned," Ren muttered.
Ruby looks around while the others go somewhere else, feeling unease in the wind.
"Hey, I think I found something!" Nora called out to the others as Ruby turns and rushes over. Nora, Jaune and Ren are looking at a town sign. Nora moves the ivy growing over it to the side to read what it says while Bacchus and Monarch land beside her.
"Oniyuri? Never heard of it," Nora said.
"Me neither," Jaune added as Pyrrha was also clueless to the name.
"I have," The other four were now looking at Ren in shock and surprise.
"You might think of it as Anima's Mountain Glenn, had it never been completed. Years ago, the richest members of Mistral were unhappy with how the Kingdom was being run," Ren said as he looked at all of the damaged buildings around them. "Frustrated with the council, they pooled their resources together to build their own city, with their own laws. They hoped that one day, it could maybe even become its own Kingdom. Many thought it would be the future."
Ren walks away from the otherfour.
"I know my parents did," Ren said solemnly.
"What happened?" Ruby asked.
He brushes some dirt off of the stone border of a low wall to reveal claw marks.
"What always happens."
"The Grimm?" Jaune questioned.
Ren tightens his hands into fists and said, "Not just any, one."
Ruby briefly faces Nora in confusion, but Nora doesn't move her concerned gaze away from Ren. Ruby turns back to him.
"One?" Ruby questioned at the possibility of one Grimm easily take over a place like this very easily.
Several small black birds take off from a tree outside Oniyuri's wall. They fly over the village and the five travelers.
"Come on. Let's just get through here. This place gives me the creeps," Jaune said.
"He's right, we should go when we still have some light," Pyrrha said.
He and Pyrrha turns and leaves, soon followed by Nora and her two flyers. Ren lingers for a moment for a few moments, seemingly in thought, then follows. Ruby is the last to move as she looks over the empty village. Leaves blow through behind her after she follows her friends.
Back in Atlas, Weiss is currently singing with the broken moon shining upon her.
She stands alone on a large, empty stage, singing a wordless aria, her arms outstretched. She is perfectly positioned below the center of the painted emblem of Atlas that dominates the stage.
"I'm not your pet, not another thing you own.
I was not born guilty of your crimes.
Your riches and your influence can't hold me anymore.
I won't be possessed,
burdened by your royal test.
I will not surrender.
This life is mine."
Weiss concludes her song and bows while the audience applauds. She looks up to the balcony above stage left where her father and brother are watching. Jacques remains seated, not applauding, while Whitley is standing giving a slower paced, sarcastic clap. Weiss looks back at the audience, all clapping still in their seats. She turns and walks backstage, her feigned smile replaced with a frown.
It showed Weiss in a ballroom with multiple higher people enjoying the party with butlers roaming around passing some delicacies for the guests.
On the far opposite end of the room is a display area with three large paintings and two abstract statues. To one side Jacques is conversing with a man in glasses and a gray-haired woman in a green dress. They are laughing. Weiss is behind her father, looking at the floor with her hands held primly behind her back. Whitley stands similar further behind their father, only his gaze is directly on him.
"That's precisely my point. We offer Faunus the exact same wages given to the rest of our mining staff. Their argument's completely invalid right out of the gate," Jacques said in annoyance.
"Well, I think the bigger issue here..." The businessman said as Weiss couldn't help but groan. "...is our society as a whole."
Jacques scoffed and asked, "Why, you mean Atlas?"
As they converse, Weiss looks over to the largest painting on the end of the ballroom, depicting Beacon Academy with its Cross Continental Transmit tower still standing.
"Atlas, Mantle... You can't deny the economic disparity between the two," The businessman said.
"I mean, what exactly are you suggesting?" The businesswoman asked.
Weiss starts to step away, only to have her forearm grabbed by her father, who doesn't even turn around. Weiss halts, startled.
Jacques pulled Weiss back to face him while the businessman kept rambling on.
"Where are you going?" Jacques asked as Weiss gave him a meek expression.
"I'm... just a little thirsty," Weiss answered.
"Sweetheart, we have people for that," Jacques said as he lets go of Weiss and begins to raise his arm to call over a waiter, but Weiss stops him by grabbing his forearm, prompting a sideways glance from Whitley.
"What? No, I can get it. I'll be right back, I promise," Weiss assured as the two lock gazes as the conversation next to them continues while Jacques' business partners were still talking.
Jacques decides to let Weiss go and turns back to his companions.
"I'm sorry, I tuned out for a second, but sounds like I'm the good guy again?" Jacques said as he and the businesswoman share a laugh. Weiss moves across the room to look at the painting of Beacon Academy. She has barely reached it when a young man speaks to her.
He has light-brown eyes and dull-blue hair in an undercut hairstyle, with the long unshaven hair swept to his left and hanging slightly in his face.
He wears a maroon dress shirt and black tie with a black vest decorated with a marigold flower design, silver buttons, and a breast pocket containing a red handkerchief. He also wears a pair of black pants and gray dress shoes.
His black belt is worn over his vest and has a silver chain connected to the front of it, with the other end trailing into his left pocket. On his index and ring fingers on each hand, he wears plain silver rings.
"It's beautiful," The boy suddenly paused and continued. "You two match."
Weiss stands with her arms crossed, maintaining a cold expression throughout most of the conversation.
"Yes, it's a lovely painting," Weiss said.
"So, that was my attempt at breaking the ice. How am I doing so far?" The boy asked as Weiss sighed.
"You are leaving a lot to be desired," Weiss said.
"Well, I've always appreciated honesty," The boy then offered his hand. "Henry. Marigold."
Weiss turns her head to look at him and said, "Weiss Schnee."
She lightly places her fingers across his in a very loose handshake
"I know, I saw your performance," Henry then cringed. "Obviously." He cleared his throat and said, "You were wonderful. And I promise I'm not just saying that 'cause you're pretty."
Weiss turns her attention back to the painting, and there is brief silence between the two.
"Honesty, remember? So, you thinking about buying it?" Henry asked as he rattled the railings.
"No. I don't think so," Weiss said.
"Yeah, kinda pricey for a painting," Henry said as Weiss grew annoyed.
"It's to raise money," Weiss said.
"Oh really? For what?" Henry asked as Weiss look at him in disgust.
"For what?"
"Heheh, I'll admit, I only come to these things for the food and drinks," Henry said as he reaches out and takes a champagne flute as a waiter walks by. "And the extraordinary company. Of course."
As he sips his drink, Weiss shifts her stance to face him.
"So what, is it another Mantle fundraiser or something?" Henry asked.
"Get. Out," Weiss said with force as Henry slightly laugh.
"What?"
"Get out, or I will have security escort you out."
"But I haven't done any-"
"You better listen to the princess, or she might blow a gasket," Someone then intervened in their conversation as they look who it was, and Weiss gaspnin surprise.
It was Vic in a black suit with an orange bow tie as he now stood taller to Weiss by a meter.
"Who are you supposed to be?" Henry asked.
"A friend of Weiss, specifically her classmate, and you should go now. You probably have something else to do right?" Vic asked as Henry shrug.
"Yeah I should go," Henry then left as Weiss sigh in relief.
"Doing alright brat?" Vic asked as Weiss began to sigh in exasperation.
"Nice to see you too Vic, and you are quite... Taller," Weiss said as she couldn't help but feel shock to see the once short boy to grow slightly higher to her.
"Well growth spurt, believe me, I was so happy that I will not be the shortest anymore," Vic said as he remembered his celebration of his growth spurt.
"I guess," Weiss said as she then faced the painting along with Vic.
It was a painting of Beacon Academy, Vic's new home in Remnant, and where there adventures began. Then there's a sign in front of the display, which reads:
"SHOW THE WORLD WE CARE
All proceeds go to the Kingdom of Vale".
Vic couldn't help but feel the feeling of longing in that place, his second home, the place he first met his friends, and his lover. Weiss feel the same feeling of longing as that was the place she slowly changes to someone knew. The chatter of the party guests grows louder, but one voice stands out among the rest.
"But really, does it come as any surprise, what happened to Vale?" A blonde woman said as Weiss and Vic look at her.
"Honey..." The woman's husband tried to stop her by places his hand on her shoulder, trying to shush her, but she shakes it off, leaving him to glance around the room with a forced, nervous grin.
"What?" The woman then laughs and continued. "You said the same thing last night. If they're so arrogant to think they can get by without proper kingdom defense, then I say good riddance."
While she talks, her Husband drops the act and heaves a silent sigh. The woman's rant is cut off by a voice shouting angrily across the room at her.
"Shut up!" Vic yelled in anger with fire coming from his hair which silence the room and attracts the guest's attentions. Even Weiss was shock to hear him angry again, then again. Its Beacon they are talking about, his home.
Jacques and Whitley heard the commotion and saw the angry orange haired teen.
"So this is Weiss' classmate," Jacques muttered in interest along with Whitney.
"You don't know anything! None of you at all!" Vic shouted as his flames flicker.
"Excuse me?" The woman said as she felt angry of being cutted out.
"You say that we are arrogant to not be prepared, then all of you are more arrogant to even say it because of your cowardice!"
"How dare you!"
"How dare me? How dare you! All of you! Me and my friends almost died trying, and what did you do? Nothing! You stood high enough so you wouldn't be in harms way, enjoying everything, ignoring anything, while all of us work hard to keep everyone safe because all of you are too scared to even fight back!" Vic shouted as his pockets began to move.
"Vic you're making a scene," Weiss said to him, but felt that she would have known this.
"Should we intervene?" Whitley asked his father as Jacques shook his head.
"No, let's see this young boy, who is Weiss' classmate," Jacques said as he look at Vic with interest.
Vic calmed down, but he still kept the glaring which made the woman look at him mockingly.
"Like I said arrogant," The woman said as she then began to laugh haughtily which made Vic's blood boil.
Suddenly a red beam came out of Vic's pocket, and Kakashi appeared in the room growling and glaring at the woman.
Everyone were quite shock to see this as they thought that everything they watched from their television were all fake.
Kakashi then began to create electricity that arcs around his fur, and charge at her wildly as the woman could only step back in fear. Kakashi kept charging with his fangs covered in electricity as he attempts to bite and shock the woman, but he stopped when James Ironwood stood between them.
"Easy now Kakashi, go back to your Trainer," James said calmly as Kakashi debated a little, but calmed down but still felt anger to the woman. As James saw the shock faces on the guests, he could only sigh and faced Vic. "You can let them out now."
Vic nods as he grabbed his Pokeballs in his pocket and threw them to the air to let the rest of the team out of their confinement.
While the guests look in shock to their existence, Jacques and Whitley look at them in awe and interest.
Vic's team looked around curiously till Gai saw the buffet table and decided to go for a snack. He look to Vic for permission and his trainer nods. Gai then went for the table in a gentlemen like manner with his hands behind his back and slowly enjoyed the snacks on the table.
The others then followed him as they did it in a human-like manner while Temari stayed by Vic's shoulder and Kakashi by his side. Everyone were quite amazed to their intelligence despite some of them are more animal-like.
Eventually, everyone decided to continue while going for some quick peeks to the Pokemons, and eventually began to enjoy the party more.
Unbeknownst to them, two pairs of black eyes watches outside the room as they eyed Weiss and Whitley respectively, then quickly disappeared when a guard came by.
As Ruby and Team JNPR continue out of Oniyuri, Ren suddenly senses something. He puts out his hand to stop the other four, eyes closing as he focuses. Somewhere close by a mysterious figure can be seen running. Ren draws his weapon. Ruby, Nora and Jaune immediately follow suit. The mysterious figure, now showed itself as a manic man, soon leaps high over the wall to engage them in combat.
He immediately takes out his weapons in a seamless motion and, laughing eagerly, moves to attack Ruby. Ren intervenes, Storm Flower clashing with the man's claw blades. Ren attempts to both kick and shoot the mam, but he dodges. The two have a couple more attack and parries until the mankicks Ren several feet away.
The man turns to go after Ruby again, who rushed forward with Crescent Rose to meet him. The man uses his blades to block the scythe and kicks Ruby backward. She easily remains upright and they clash again. The man manages to land a strike on Ruby's right arm, causing her to cry out at the pain and him to laugh. She's doesn't break stride however and leaps back to take a swing at him with her scythe. He dodges and then lands a moving blow against the body of Crescent Rose, causing a red shimmer to cross her Aura in the area of the strike.
Jaune steps in at that moment and the man climbs onto his shield and grins at him. Nora rushes in with Magnhild, but the man just leaps from Jaune's shield to her hammer and up through the top story of a narrow, rectangular building. Holding himself up with his feet on wooden frames to either side of him, the man looks down at Ruby and Team JNPR.
As they stop, they have the perfect picture of the man.
He is a pale man with gold eyes and a brown ponytail braided to resemble a scorpion's tail. He wears a white sleeveless jacket with leather belts strapped to it, along with white pants. His jacket is left open, exposing his bare chest, which is crisscrossed with prominent scars. His arms are covered with purple bandages and leather vambraces. He also wears leather boots covering his entire shin with knee guards.
On each earlobe is a silver, ring-shaped earring, and near the top of his left ear is another matching earring.
"We're not looking for a fight!" Jaune shouted to the man.
"Who are you?" Ren said with his weapons ready along with everyone, and Bacchus and Monarch on stand by.
The man leans forward, drops from the tower, does a front flip, and lands on his feet in front of them.
"Who I am matters not to you," The man said as he points to Ren.
"Or you," Then to Nora.
"Or you," Then to Pyrrha.
"Or—" He stop for a moment and continued while pointing at Jaune. "Well... you do interest me."
Jaune gasped nervously as he held Crocea Mors tightly
"No, I only matter to you," Then he points at Ruby, and the JNPR turn to look at her. She tilts her head in confusion.
"Me?" Ruby questioned.
The man breaks down into laughter and said, "You, you haven't the slightest clue, do you? Oh, how exciting this must be."
"What do you want?" Ruby demanded as the man dramatically acts to fit her tone.
"Oh, the rose has thorns! My little flower, I'm here to whisk you away with me!" The man said.
"Well, what if she doesn't want to go with you?" Nora said with her hand up to signal Bacchus and Monarch.
He stares for a moment with his lips scrunched up before answering, "Well, I'll take her."
Jaune and Pyrrha walks over and stands between him and Ruby, their shields held in front of them.
"We're not going to let you do that," Jaune said.
"Especially to someone like you," Pyrrha said.
The man closes his eyes and inhales through his teeth. His eyes slowly open, and he happily growls a single word with a dark grin, "Good"
In a blink of an eye, the man was behind Jaune to strike him, but Pyrrha quickly saw it and deflect the man's attack.
It was then followed by Ren deliberately shoots Jaune's shield so that the ricochet hits the man. The man covers his eyes with his arm and then cartwheels onto Jaune's shield, using his claw blades to spin in the air against it. Ruby steps in to face the man on his descent, but he just kicks her to the side. She regains her ground by using Crescent Rose to steady herself. Jaune takes a swing with his sword at the man, but he simply dodges and kicks him away as well.
Nora quickly signaled her two flyers to strike while the man went towards her. Bacchus went up first and is followed by Monarch as the Bat Pokémon prepared a Cross Poison while Monarch sends out a Bug Buzz. The man's agility made him easily maneuver through the attacks and continued towards Nora. Ruby grins and shoots Nora with lightningDust. It passes just over tge man's left shoulder, and he turns as he senses it. Nora gets knocked down when the bolt makes contact, dropping Magnhild in the process.
Mistaking the move for an error on Ruby's part, The man gives Nora a baffled stare and laughs while Ren, Jaune and Ruby simply watch and wait.
"Well, if that isn't ironic," The man saidtill senses something is up and loses his mirth. With a determined, satisfied grin, a now upright and supercharged Nora rushes The man from behind, moving over his right shoulder and coming before him just in time to hit him with Magnhild. The blast from the contact has the other four covering their eyes from the backwash of dust and air, Jaune and Pyrrha actually taking cover behind their shields.
The air clears to reveal the man, clearly fine, in a crouch, using his now unveiled scorpion tail to block Magnhild. He giggles and curls his fingers at Nora.
"Surprise," The man mocke her as he kicks Nora twice in the face before leaping backwards and upward onto a roof, leaving his coat behind.
"He's... a Faunus," Ren muttered.
"What is this about? The White Fang?" Ruby demanded.
"Plastic soldiers. My heart and body belong only to our goddess!" The man declared maniacally.
"Cinder..." Ruby questioned.
"Hmph, only in her wildest dreams," The man said as he leaps back into the fray. He uses his tail to knock Crescent Rose down. Though surprised, Ruby doesn't lose her grip on it. The two both attack each other and miss until the man kicks Ruby backwards again.
The man uses his tail to go after Ren before finally kicking him away and attacking Jaune next.
A crow flies determinedly toward the fray while the man kicks Jaune back and then Nora, and then Pyrrha, and then Ren returns for more only to leap away again. Without missing a beat, The man lets Ren be and goes after Ruby again. Bacchus and Monarch tried to intervene but the man easily avoid them despite Bacchus being the fastest. In quick succession, he delivers a right hook to her face and a left blow to her torso, causing red shimmers on her Aura on her head and chest respectively. He turns and swings his tail to knock her back into the air. She flies back several feet and he rushes forward to meet her before she lands. While Ruby's still midair, he kicks her right in the abdomen, causing a large red shimmer over her abdomen and hips.
The incoming crow turns into Qrow who keeps running forward after landing.
The man approaches Ruby on the ground and raises his stinger, his eyes turning dark purple. Nora, who is comforting a fallen Ren, Pyrrha and Jaune look on in horror. Laughing, the man is about to strike with his scorpion tail when Qrow bursts through a building and inserts himself between them, holding his weapon behind his back. There's a metallic noise as the man's stinger hits against Qrow's weapon and clips into the blade. He lets out a nervous giggle of surprise while Ruby and Qrow make eye contact and smile at each other.
"Hey," Qrow said to her.

"Alright you can do this," C. Vic said to himself till he saw C. Penny walking to him with long strides, and he began to get a mental breakdown. 'I can't do this!'
He tried to quickly walk away but C. Penny immediately saw him.
"Hey Vic!" She called out to him as he instantly froze in fear.
He quickly turn around as he hides his gifts and nervousness and said, "Hey... Penny. Lovely day we're having right?"

"Okay good," C. Vic then began to shake in nervousness.
The peanut gallery grew larger with C. Team RWBY and JNPR joining in along with the C. Beacon staff and Qrow.
"Why do you ask?" C. Penny asked as C. Vic's eyes began to shift side to side.

Omake end
That is it for this chapter.
I know that not many are following this, but the amount of views says otherwise. I clearly see some of you really love the story.
Right now, I am putting each chapters of this story scheduled to follow along some events each month this year. Like Christmas for example.
Also, I am having a hard time with my online classes since with my phones, I bought a new one, very close proximity to me and me having some chapters to do since my mind is pretty much going crazy to a lot of ideas. I have a hard time finishing some of my projects. Even if I stop for a bit, my head would hurt like hell to the amount of ideas and information that I will need to let out.
Basically, I'm stressed out!
Just gosh! I can't do two things in the same times, and I kept this to my family so I wouldn't be talked out of this. I do have one friend, but he doesn't have any knowledge on RWBY. I know I do as well, but I know them more from the constant reading of other stories about them and a little help from the wiki of course.
So if I ever have online class again, you better know that it will be stressful for me to continue, but I will not give up this story. No! I will continue this till the end.
So Happy Valentines, Vic out Peace.
