Chapter:23 Face your Fear

A cracked signed bearing the name Kuroyuri rests against ruins. An upwards pan and several cuts show the dilapidated village. Ruby and Jaune walk down the road, carrying Qrow on a stretcher while Pyrrha walks in front with her weapon. They pause and look unhappily around.

"Oh, man," Jaune said depressingly.

"Come on," Ruby said.

"There gotta be something here," Pyrrha said as she look around warily.

They continued forward but they couldn't know any of the buildings being a pharmacy or a clinic.

"Any of these places look like a pharmacy?" Ruby asked in worry.

"It's... honestly hard to tell," Jaune said as he saw an abandoned bike with the rubble.

"Ren really didn't want to come here, did he?" Ruby said as she looked around.

"Uh... didn't seem so," Jaune said as he and Pyrrha look at each other.

"Do you know... why?" Ruby asked as Jaune sigh.

"I think I have a pretty good idea..." Jaune said as the three of them continued forward through the ruins.

Back in Vale, Shori is currently rocking his baby daughter to sleep while Seier watch the news on the TV.

"The reconstruction of CCT is still unable to continue due to the Grimms that lives on the island where it was built. The horde is unlimited because of the Wyvern still flying by the cliffs which made entry impossible. So connection between kingdoms can't be possible till the main threat has been taken care off, so where are our allies now? Will they help or not," The news reporter said as Seier switched the channel to a different one and she couldn't help but sigh.

"I don't really don't know what to do," Seier said as she support her head with her right arm resting on her seat.

"We couldn't really help it, we have a kid now," Shori said as Nozomu quietly sleeps in his arms. "We must be responsible to her safety and her care. So while I help from outside, you need to take care of our daughter."

"And I'm still new to this; I couldn't have done it without Emerald and Dew helping me," Seier said as she look to the kitchen and saw Emerald the Gardevoir drinking milk in a carton from the fridge. "Most of the time."

Shori shrug and said, "You shouldn't worry that much, we know that the kids will be alright."

"I know Vic will be, but some of them aren't. Ruby is still new to fighting people, Weiss trouble with her family, Blake with her secret, Yang with her injury, Jaune and Pyrrha having heavy burdens, and Ren and Nora with their past," Seier said in worry till her husband put a comforting hand on her shoulder.

"Then you that they'll push through. Sometimes your Semblance really mess with your mind," Shori said as his wife could only sigh.

"If it could be that simple Shori, I tried and tried but my past always makes me worried even now," Seier said with a frown.

"The past is in the past and we must accept that, they might actually happy now because of you reaching this far," Shori said as Seier slightly smiled.

"I know I do but it doesn't stop me to worry, we have someone to protect us while some of them don't. Yes I know that they are safe and sound but what about anyone with them," Seier said.

"But you will know that they'll be okay."

Seier still felt worried as she kept her gaze on the television.

"I do hope so."

Suddenly on the balcony, Temari the Swellow landed on the railing with a letter tied on her right leg as Shori walk over to Vic's flyer and grabbed the letter with his unoccupied hand. Temari then flew off back to Mantle while Shori quickly put Nozomu in her pink crib so he could open the letter. The former Champion of Kanto open the letter and read what inside it and grew surprised.

"Honey, do you know how to make Pokeballs?" Shori asked his wife while Seier raised an eyebrow.

"A little kinda, I only learn it on the books , why?" She asked as Shori gave her the letter as she also read it and was surprised.

"We better get planting some of those Apricorns that we got from Vic and get some metal," Her husband said as Seier put her face on her two hands and groan.

Jaune walks up to Ruby in the ruins of Kuroyuri. Both are looking dejected.

"Nothing," Jaune said.

"We should get back to Qrow," Ruby said.

Qrow leans against a dead sakura tree, groaning with Pyrrha guarding him. Though not conscious, he holds a hand over his wound. A wide shot shows Ruby crouched near his legs and Jaune standing over them both.

A creature makes a loud noise from off in the distance, causing both Ruby, Jaune, and Pyrrha to turn. Jaune's hand immediately goes to his sword and looks around for the source of the noise.

"It's far off," Ruby said.

"I know, but Ren and Nora are still out there," Jaune said as he went to Pyrrha's side.

Ruby looks at Qrow before standing and approaching Jaune and Pyrrha.

"I'm sorry," Ruby said with guilt.

"Huh?" Jaune, along with Pyrrha, turns around to face her, though she is not looking up.

"This is all my fault. I should have never dragged you guys into this," Ruby said.

"You didn't drag us in. We wanted to come," Jaune said.

"But you didn't know about Tyrian, about—"

"Ruby we lost," Jaune cut the young redhead off. "Yes we lost, but it doesn't mean you have to carry all of the guilt. We lost Beacon and you lose your team, but you are still here helping. Despite the difficulty of this, you still want to help others in the time of need. You just need some faith."

Ruby turns to face Jaune, and becomes emotional as he continues.

"The faith to know that your still want to help everyone."

She lifts her head and looks at him.

"That you give us courage to follow you and we didn't regret it."

"And we never will," Pyrrha said.

Jaune puts his hand on her shoulder. She smiles at him, grateful, and he and Pyrrha smiles back.

In Mantle, Vic has finally returned to the Polendina's home as he discarded the suit in a laundry basket.

"Penny! I'm back!" Vic called out through the room.

"In the operating room!" He heard her voice as he walk through the house and went to Pietro's operating room to see the old doctor checking on Penny's wiring.

Vic got over it over the years of Penny getting her upgrades as he always help fixing her.

Pietro then saw him coming in and said, "Ah Victor, you finally come back, so how's the party went?"

"It went good till someone just badmouth Beacon," Vic said as both Polendina frown.

They knew Vic got angry on the party, Beacon is practically his home and the young Champion would be very emotional on its destruction.

"Anything else?" Pietro asked to change the subject.

"Oh, Kakashi went out and tried to fry her," Pietro and Penny blinked at him since he didn't show any remorse at all. "But the General was there and stopped Kakashi to attack further."

Both creator and creation sigh in relief at that.

"I also visited Jacques," Vic said which surprised Pietro.

"Has anything happened?"

"Well..." Vic then scratched the back of his head and explained everything to them, and they were quite surprised to hear what they say.

"That... Is very amazing to hear," Pietro said in awe.

"It very much is," Penny said.

"I know but I am very worried if anyone ever know of their existence," Vic said nervously.

"Why not, you have them in your world didn't you?" Pietro said.

"Till the very beginning," Vic pointed out. "Their existence is very much known in my world since the stone age and yours are knowing it now. Since everything is advance here, anyone would probably try to exploit them and they don't even know what they are capable of."

"I now see where you are getting," Pietro said as he began to think. "So what do you plan now?"

Vic then took something in his pants pocket and showed him a folded paper, Vic then open it to show a drawing and plans of a Pokeball on it.

Pietro could only look in awe as he took the paper and scan the paper.

"Good thing I have a good relationship back in my world or I always break every Pokeball ball I have," Vic said.

"This... This is amazing! A technology that is not even to our own world. So what do you plan?" Vic then showed a serious look as the young Champion set his shades on his eyes.

"If the time has come, let's get some these prepared," He said as the young Champion could've sworn that he saw the old scientist's eyes shine.

They have some work to do.

Wind blows with the whistling note of high altitude as Ren walks a stony ledge. Before him is more of the mountain, with a cave just ahead.

"We never get the easy path, do we?" Ren said to Nora as the eccentric girl went to his side with her two flyers behind her.

"Easy's no fun anyway," Nora said as she has her hands behind her head. She then drops her hands and look to him. "You ok?"

Ren nods and said, "Mmm. And you?"

"I've got you here, don't I?" Nora said as Ren looks at her as if he does not know what to make of her response.

Nora then gestures with her hand as she moves forward and said, "Come on. There's more than one way up a mountain."

Ren watches her for a beat before smiling. Thunder rumbles and Ren loses the smile, turning to look up at the sky.

"Hey! There's wind blowing out of this cave!" Nora said as she points to a cave.

Shown from inside the cave, Ren catches up to Nora. Leaves blow outward toward them.

"Think it might lead to the peak?" Nora said to the quiet teen.

"I suppose there's only one way to find ou—ah!" Ren was then cut off as a large piece of fabric abruptly blows out from the cave and covers his face. Nora giggles, covering her mouth with her hands, as Ren frees himself.

"Yes, yes. Very funny," Ren said calmly as he looks down at the marked fabric in his hands and goes still. Nora lowers her hands and steps closer.

"Hey, what's wrong?" Nora asked.

"This is the symbol for Shion Village," Ren said as she showed her the symbol.

"Shion? But that's... that's the village where we found the Huntsman. It's weeks away from here!" Nora shouted at the impossibility. Ren drops the fabric and runs into the cave as Nora tried to reach out for him. "Ren! Wait!"

Ren stops once he is far enough into the cave to have a good look at what's there. Nora catches up to him with Bacchus and Monarch and becomes alarmed at what she sees along with her two Pokemons.

"Oh my gosh..." Nora could only say in shock as she continues to look at what it was in front of her.

In the spacious area, weapons speckle every place you can look. Swords, axes and staffs are all either propped up or on the ground. Ren moves in and picks up an arrow. He studies it while Nora approaches just behind him. As she looks he also sees what's on the ground... the Nuckelavee hoofprint. It is pointed toward another opening on the opposite end of the cave.

Several trees are outside this opening, just below. One at a time, moving away from the cave where Ren can be soon looking out, the trees shake.

Ren shook his head and said, "No..."

Before the two of them are the shaking trees and the abandoned village of Kuroyuri. Nora takes his hand and he returns the grip before the scene cuts to black. Then they heard a roar as Bacchus and Monarch became wary to what happens next.

The final trailer for Team VRMN (Vermilion)

A once short Victor is walking through the hallways of Beacon with Velvet by his side.

It was his second day of his arrival in the world of Remnant as he was still getting used to everything in this world. He learned of Dust, the Grimms, the Four Kingdoms, and the job of a Huntsman.

The students around him kept eyeing him as they are still confused of his very presence, and he quickly hides behind Velvet warily.

Velvet feel embarrassed from this and said, "V-Victor, don't worry they won't hurt you."

Victor was still wary as he look at them calculatively and said, "But they could."

Velvet frown at his mistrust to people but she doesn't know the reason.

"No they won't trust me. As long you are with me, you'll be fine," Velver said as Vic look at her hesitantly and nods.

They continued walking and walking till they reached the dorm room of Team CFVY. Velvet hesitantly reach out for the doorknob but she grabbed it and opened the door to reveal Fox and Yatsuhashi inside.

The only two males then saw the only Faunus on their team with a small child with her and puzzled it together.

"Punishment?" Yatsuhashi said as Velvet nods. "Then who's the kid?"

"Well... He's a special case so the Headmaster put him with us to take care of him," Velvet said as both male teens look at the young Champion in curiosity.

Vic quickly hide behind Velvet as he kept his wary gaze at them.

Yatsuhashi and Fox saw this and were more curious to the young child.

"So he's staying here with us?" Fox asked.

"Only till next year, the Headmaster saw something special from him and he wanted him to be accepted next year," Velvet said as needless to say, Yatsu and Fox was quite shock but couldn't deny it when they saw the look on Vic's eyes.

Wariness, fierceness, ferocity, and most of all seriousness. Eyes that only a Huntsman could only have, yet a child as young as him has it.

"So what his name?" Fox asked as Velvet look in surprise and she then rub the back of her head sheepishly.

"Sorry, his name is Victor," Velvet then faced Vic. "These two are my other teammates, Yatsuhashi and Fox."

Vic still kept his gaze and said, "Nice to meet you."

Yatsuhashi nods and said, "Likewise."

"A pleasure to meet you as well," Fox said.

Then it was followed by silence as Velvet breaks it.

"Since that is done, I should guide Victor around the area more," Velvet said as her two teammates nods, and she and Vic quickly left the room.

As they are now outside, Velvet took a deep breathe and look at Vic in worry as he still by her side warily.

"I know that you're wary here, but you should loosen up a little," Velvet said to assure him but Vic was still wary as he then hug the Rabbit Faunus by her waist which made her yelp in surprise.

"I-I'm just scared," Vic said as he look up to show his eyes with a hint of fear as Velvet's heart soften at this sight.

"As long that me and Coco are here, you are never alone," Velvet said as Vic slightly sniffed with tears slowly drop from his eyes.

"Promise," Vic said as Velvet smiled.

"Promise," Velvet said as she then began to show Vic the rest of the school.

This is where Vic's new adventure begun.

Omake End

And that is it for this chapter.

Finally this Omake completed the new team that I already named. Vic the Victor, Randy the Rallyist, Mel the Musician, and Nomad the Nomad (duh). This four are the members of the soon to be Team VRMN when they finally reached Atlas.

This story is like my greatest creation ever. It really helps that the RWBY Fandom really have the transcript for the series and I only need to change some parts for it to work. It is nearing for Nomad and Randy to enter the story with Mel being last.

Soon enough, I have decided to make a prequel for this story after I finished this story. Making a sequel for this is hard because I need another anime for it and I don't have a reliable source to make it easier. I am really lazy watching the anime that I would use since I now only read in Fanfiction and read parts where I can connect the lines. While some are different, I still watch parts from AMVs in YouTube which explains why I am so lazy to watch them.

I really thought of using Fairy Tail, BNHA, One Piece, and a bit of Shield Hero; but I don't really watch them and know it by reading it here. While the first three is the only thing that I partially watch, the last one is the only one that I didn't watch which made my job a lot harder.

I always thought of a sequel after passing the second volume of the series of making this story, but that is put in a halt so I went for a prequel instead.

I really need reliable transcripts in each anime's respective Fandom since, like I said before, I am lazy to watch them because I only read them now instead.

But enough of that, I hope you guys enjoyed it and I hope you guys follow this story and I see you guys in the next chapter.
