Okay guys, I will now show Cinder in this story since I think its a perfect time to show some changes in here as well. As of right now, she is the only one that I haven't changed yet. You could probably guess from the series that some of the villains are now choosing sides in the final battle, so it helps me imply them here.

Victory through Remnant is my only non-reaction story that could finally reach the end as this is slowly form the whole frame, and I am getting happy from this achievement of mine.

Just so you know, the update time for the chapters are between the last three days in a week so between Friday, Saturday, and Sunday will be the update time for this story since the very day that I began to follow Christmas and New Years so I could add the omakes for them.

I really appreciate some of you guys actually reading this and not my reactions since the last three Pokemon anime really made the series plummet to the ground while RWBY needed some attention of their own.

So for now. You know the drill.

Chapter:24 Paving the Way

In a far away land with no living creatures except for the creatures of Grimm walking around the land with pools of black liquid and on it is a large black castle eerily standing their.

Inside a large room of the castle, there stood Cinder Falls panting as she now got a new look after Beacon's Fall.

Her hair is much shorter, she wears a black mask that appears to be made of black glass over her missing left eye and the scarring from said injury extends into a slight x-shape over the bridge of her nose, as well as having deformed and degraded the tissue of her left ear.

She wears a long, dark red dress with one long, wide sleeve hiding her left arm. The edges of the collar and the opening for the right arm are gold-colored, and the upper chest and left sleeve are decorated with golden designs. The right side of her dress is open from the hip down with two gold-colored straps made up of interwoven ropes connecting the front half to the back half of her thigh. Under the dress, she appears to wear black pantyhose. On the right hip, the dress has a black rhombus-shaped gem set in a gold-colored metal of the same shape, with feathers of varying shades of blue extending from the bottom of it. On her right arm, she wears a long, gray glove, the top of which has a gold-colored metal ring with curvy branching extensions going up to her arm. Her right ear has a new, ring-shaped earring higher up than the dangling black gem earring.

Four Beowolves then approach Cinder, moving in a semicircle formation. Cinder swings her left arm at them, sending another slash of fire. It cuts through the middle of all four Grimm and they disintegrate away.

Cinder pants again, still upright yet taking a breather. She does not get long, as heavy footsteps approach from her left. She gasps and looks in their direction. A gorilla like Grimm known as a Beringel leaps into the air, ready to deliver a blow to her with its fist. Cinder, however, pulls back her right arm and pushes a ball of flame right at it. It, too, disintegrates.

As its body disappears, Cinder falls to her knees, breathing heavily.

"Enough."

Then a woman walk over to Cinder as said woman look at the false Maiden in disinterest while said Maiden breathes heavily.

The woman's skin is currently a deathly pallor, with jet black sclerae in her eyes, and glowing crimson irises that shine brighter when she is agitated. While she initially retained her half-bun hairdo for her now bleached, pale white hair, she has since re-styled it into a larger bun with six offshoots wrapped together that also suspends several obsidian-colored ornaments. Over the passage of time, she has since grown dark purple veins that line her face and arms, and now has a black diamond-shaped marking in the center of her forehead.

She currently wears a very long, short-sleeved black robe that obscures her feet and partially drags across the ground, with its distinctive feature being a curved high collar with dark red trim bordering the outer edge of a narrow window exposing her bust in a vertical ellipsis resembling an eye, and completed with a long shawl emblazoned with three interconnected, maroon-colored vertical elliptic sigils resembling a trio of overseeing eyes above a series of maroon-colored diamond emblems. She also wears a ring resembling a beetle on her right middle finger, which now have longer fingernails with jet-black nail polish.

"I thought you were the girl who wanted power. Did you lie to me?" The woman questioned as Cinder winces on the force of the woman's's question before looking upward. Turning to face the pale woman, Cinder clearly shakes her head negatively. "Then stop holding back. If you wish to master your new powers, you must -"

BAM!!

The woman is cut off by the sound of heavy doors opening. On the opposite end of the stone hall, a sobbing Tyrian enters. He falls to his knees once in the room, both hands flat on the floor and his head bowed.

"I'm sorry," Tyrian softly said as he raise his hand to his chin. "She'll forgive me. Pleeeease."

Tyrian then bowed ro the woman and said, "Forgive me..."

"Tyrian!" The woman called out to him as she stands before him. He raises his body but remains sitting on his legs while Cinder rises from the stone floor behind Salem. She then hold out her hand imperially. "Your task - were you successful?"

Tyrian bowed his head and said with a stutter, "N-No."

Cinder's eye widens. The woman also looks surprised for a moment before narrowing her eyes and walking away. Cinder watches their leader for her further reaction without looking at Tyrian.

Tyrian then faced the woman and begged, "But-but hope is not lost! My tail, my stinger... I-I poisoned him, Qrow! He will not be a nuisance to you any longer, no... no longer! I've done that... have I done well? Have I pleased you?"

"The last eye is blinded... you disappoint me," The woman said as she left the room.

Tyrian falls forward, wailing. A Beowolf approaches, all focused on Tyrian's negative emotions. It ignores Cinder and leaps upon him. Tyrian sends it away with a single blow and it lands on its back. Still wailing, Tyrian opens his weapons and leaps atop the Beowolf. He slashes at it repeatedly, tears streaming down his face. His wails gradually turn into laughter as he vents his grief into the butchering of the Grimm. Cinder watches, horrified.

The false Maiden quickly left the room to leave the crazy Faunus alone to vent his anger and anguish.

Unbeknownst to her or anyone in the castle, a pair of beady black eyes saw this and immediately scuttle away from the area.

Back in Patch, in the Rose-Xiao Long Residence, Yang spray yellow paint on her new prosthetic arm as she then went to the tool shed to take off a tarp on her motorcycle, Bumblebee.

"I don't remember saying that you were ready," By the door is Tai leaning on the door frame with his arms crossed.

Not needing to turn around, Yang said, "Oh yeah? You're gonna try and stop me?"

Tai chuckled and said, "No. I think I'm still too sore after our last fight. I just wanted a better goodbye than a letter. And, I also have a question for you."

Yang then turned around and Tai continued, "Where are you going?"

"What do you mean?" Yang questioned.

Tai then went into the shed and said, "Well, despite asking him numerous times not to, I know that Qrow told you where your mother's been at these days. I know how much you wanna see her. I've stopped you in the past, but I won't anymore. And we both read the note. We know your sister's headed to Mistral. So, where are you going?"

Yang looks down at the tarp as Taiyang makes his point. She remains gazing down for another couple of beats before looking up at her father. Her eyes narrow in determination, her decision made.

Back in Atlas, Weiss is currently sneaking through the ornated hallways with the family butler Klein.

Weiss was still wary of her father but her mind focuses more on her escape out of her home.

The two move quickly across the carpet, their footsteps muffled. Side by side, they go down the staircase and clickety-clack their way across the entrance hall. They are moving down another hallway when Klein's Scroll buzzes. They both look at it with squinty eyes.

"Master Whitley! I... um... yes, of course. I'll be just a moment," Klein said as he tuck away his Scroll as he then whispered to Weiss. "Head to the first floor library. I'll meet you there."

They separate, going in opposite directions. Weiss is soon creeping outside her father's study door when she hears a glass crash followed by the rising voice of General Ironwood. She crouches behind a cushioned chair against the wall.

"You need to control yourself!" James shouted at the Schnee Patriarch

"You're talking to me about control? Do you even hear what you're saying?" Jacques questioned the general.

"I am basing everything on my reports from your daughter."

"A daughter you stole!"

Weiss moves closer to the door to listen.

"Oh, we are not getting into that again."

"Oh, yes, we have far more pressing matters to discuss, starting with your apparent lunacy!"

"Jacques!"

Inside the room, Jacques is seated at his desk while Ironwood has both hands on it, leaning over him from the other side.

James then heavily sigh and said, "Winter is one of my best. If she's telling me there's a threat in Mistral then I am not going to take that news lightly. She's been there for weeks, people are mobilizing, sudden spikes in weapons and Dust trades. Someone is about to make a play and I do not trust Leo to stop them."

"You've never trusted anyone other than yourself!"

"And for good reason!" James shouted at the businessman.

Outside, Weiss covers her mouth with her hand as she gasps at the sound of Ironwood slamming his fist onto the desk.

"If Oz had just listened to me from the start...'

"You need to get a grip. Are you even hearing yourself?"

"No. That's exactly what I'm doing. Our people need protection. By this time next week, the Kingdom of Atlas will be officially closing its borders. No one in; no one out. Without the council's permission."

"You mean, without your permission?"

"And if that becomes the case, I would think you'd want to be on my good side."

Ironwood walks away from the desk, leaving Jacques to sigh and fold his hands. Outside the door, Weiss hears him coming and uses Myrtenaster to cast a black Glyph onto the handle. When Ironwood tries to leave, the handle turns but the door will not open, despite him shaking it.

"It's locked," James said.

"What are you talking about?" Jacques questioned.

Ironwood steps back and slams into the door, shoulder first. It does not budge. Weiss turns and makes her way down the hall across the carpet while a couple more bangs come from the door.

She reaches the library, but it is empty.

"Klein! Klein, where are you?" Weiss called out as she look around till a hidden door in the corner opens, revealing Klein with his eyes now red.

"Keep your voice down, I told you I'd be here," Klein said with an accent.

Weiss rushes over, dropping both sword and suitcase in order to hug Klein with both arms. He returns the hug and his eyes turn back to normal.

"Are you sure Mistral is safe?" Klein asked as Weiss step back clasp her hands formally in frong of her.

"No, but it's where I'll find Winter," Weiss said as Klein's eyes change to a light brown color.

"I suppose she'd be the only family you have left after tonight," Klein said as Weiss thought about it.

"I don't know but maybe my family can still be whole after all," Weiss said with a hint of hope.

"You most certainly will," Klein said as he also hope for the Schnee to be together again.

A loud bang from further in the house makes them both look. It is clear that Ironwood has gotten finally out of Jacques' study.

"Klein?! Klein, get down here this instant!" Jacques shout made Klein's shoulder slump.

"Go, now," Klein said as Weiss grabs her things and goes through the secret passage in the corner of the library. She pauses to turn and look at the butler one more time.

"Thank you, Klein," Weiss said as the butler nods and shuts the door.

With Jacques, he was thinking how his door got locked despite still being inside till he thought of his younger daughter. Jacques slightly smiled at the thought as he look to his window to see Temari the Swellow flying around the manor.

"Be safe Weiss," Jacques said as he continued to look outside.

In Menagerie, it was now daytime as Blake and Sun are inside Randy's apartment with the Monkey Faunus lying on the coach with bandages on his chest.

Last night, Blake was surprised to see humans living in Menagerie in secret, and was completely shock that all of them, except Randy, are Pokemons turned to humans.

Back to the present, Sun unconsciously felt pain on his body as he woke up and blink, he then raise his head and groan.

"Blake?" Sun muttered as he look around confused.

Blake is sitting on a chair across from the couch, her body facing him. Her head is bowed and her hands are folded in her lap.

"This... is why, Sun. This is why I left them all behind," Blake said in despair.

Sun sit up and said, "What are you... wait, where am I?"

Blake gets up and walks over to the couch as Sun looks around in confusion.

"I am done seeing my friends hurt because of me," Blake said.

"Blake..." Sun tried to get Blake out of her despair as he didn't like seeing her like this.

"Shut up! Do you think I like being alone? Every day... every day I think about them! Ruby, Weiss, Yang... they were my friends! I loved them like I never thought I could love anybody. And I hope they hate me for leaving," Blake said as tears threaten to spill from her eyes.

"You don't mean that," Sun said as he went to reach out to her.

"Yes, I do!" Blake's shout made Sun flinch back as she then held her head.

"Everyone thinks they can help me, but they can't," Blake then sat down. "You saw Ilia last night and she's not even the worst! No. No more. They're better off without me. I made my choices and I'll deal with the consequences because they belong to me."

"You think you're being selfless, but you're not. Yeah, that chameleon friend of yours got me pretty good. But I'd do it all again if it meant protecting you," Sun said as Blake look at him in surprise. "And I can promise Yang and Vic would say the same."

Blake turns away, looking down.

Sun then effortlessly sit up and said, "You can make your own choices, sure. But you don't get to make ours. When your friends fight for you, it's because we want to. So stop pushing us out! It hurts more than anything the bad guys could ever do to us."

Sun looks at the floor and Blake, who had turned to face him, turns away again.

"But, if it makes you feel any better, the next time I go up against Lizard Girl, it won't be for you - it'll be to get even," Sun said as he attempts to point to his would with his left thumb, but he can not complete the motion and it aggravates his injury. Sun winces in pain and Blake laughs.

"My hero," Blake said till they heard crashing from outside.

"Miss Belladona calm down!" They heard David the transformed Cinderace's voice in despair.

"Not until I see my baby girl safe!" Blake pale when she recognized her mother's voice.

"Then don't threaten to destroy my Scroll! I have games there that I played for too long!"

"Kali calm down," Then they heard Ghira's voice.

"Not until I see my little kitten!" They then heard something broke outside.

"NO!! My Minecraft world's are gone!" They then heard David's cry of anguish till the door was kicked open by an extremely protective Kali with Ghira behind her, and David on his knees as he cried on his broken Scroll.

"My baby!" Kali then ran to Blake and hugged her daughter for dear life

"M-Mom!" Blake stuttered in embarrassment as she tried to get away from her mother's embrace but couldn't get away.

"Kali," Ghira said with certainty as he has his hands on his face. "Remember what we are here for, and you better give Mister David an apology for his broken Scroll."

Kali then turn around and had the gull to be embarrassed as she laugh nervously.

Ghira then sigh as he faced his daughter and said, "Since everyone is now calmed down, I have something to say Blake."

A Scroll is set down on the coffee table. It shows a master folder labeled W. F. with six subfolders inside. The subfolders are labeled: Assignment, E.L., P.R., E.W., S. F., Untitled.

"I'm afraid you were right to be suspicious," Ghira said as Blake look confused.

"What do you mean?"

"Adam Taurus is planning to overthrow the leader of the White Fang, and stage a full-scale attack on Haven Academy. It would be the Fall of Beacon all over again," Ghira said as both Blake and Sun were shock.

"Not if we destroy the White Fang once and for all," Sun said.

"No," Blake quickly said as she stood up as she made up her mind. "We're not going to destroy the White Fang. We're going to take it back."

Back with the dynamic duo of both Ren and Nora as the two of them ran through the abandoned town of Kuroyuri with Bacchus and Monarch flying behind them.

"Not again, not again..." Ren muttered in fear as they come to a stop after passing under an arch leading to the center of town. Ren is panting, but Nora is hardly winded. Ren lifts his head and his worried eyes change to ones smiling in relief.

In front of them, Jaune, Pyrrha, and Ruby face the other way, but abruptly turn, Jaune and Pyrrha putting their hand on their weapon. Qrow is propped up against the tree.

"What are you guys doing here?" Ruby asked.

"Did you hear that noise? What was that?!" Jaune wanted some answers as Crocea Mors turned to its new form.

Ren's eyes grow wide and he falls to his knees, clearly alarmed.

"No..." His voice was nothing but as whisper as he felt his past coming to haunt him.

"Ren! What is it?!" Ruby called out in worry.

"What is going on!" Pyrrha called out as well as she readied Miló.

The sound of plodding footsteps can be heard coming closer.

"Wait, you guys hear that?" Jaune said.

"No..." Ren said weakly.

"Ren?" Nora asked in worry while Bacchus and Monarch look around warily.

The footsteps come to a stop. A bone horse head breathes loudly, exhaling black smoke. Within the bones are glowing red lights and around it is the black flesh of a Grimm.

Ren lifts his head.

Weapons can be seen, stuck into an scraggly body that has bones sticking out perpendicular to its spine. Slowly, a torso raises, revealing a horned, humanoid Grimm. The horns and front part of the face are bone while the mouth is merely thin strips of Grimm flesh stretching across an opening. The mouth, the bones, and the eyes all glow red.

The Grimm then roared as both Bacchus and Monarch called out their names to show their courage.

A fight with the past is nearing its end.

And that is it for this chapter.

The end of the volume is coming close as the next chapter is the epilogue for Volume 4, and the beginng of Volume 5.

The story is slowly going good I see, but there are only few of you guys reading this which disappoints me. I dreamt for this story to be made for a long time but it doesn't have the same reception as Arc Music Album. VTR is not done yet as you could have seen, but it doesn't mean that you don't have to read it.

And yes, I made the story to an acronym, I also did it to my other stories as well since I got very confused on my documents so I made acronyms for them.

Also the next volume will show the rest of the cast as Randy and Nomad will show up soon for the story and very much interact with the other cast as well, which means more work.

But enough complaining, I just really hope some of you guys liked the chapter, and I'll see you guys to the next one.

Vic out Peace.
