Chapter:43 A Tale and the City of Argus
In the Vault under Haven Academy, the sound of a weapon clanging is heard. Roman, Neo, and their partner Pokémons stares at the door that once guarded the Relic of Knowledge; the door itself is now a stone wall since the Relic has been taken out.
"Now you understand," Cinder is sitting on a boulder, flicking her dagger and changing its form. "I've got to get the Relic before it can be secured in Atlas. It's the only way that Salem..." She then sighs and continued. "It's the only way we can accomplish our goal."
"Why can't you? We have agendas of our own," Roman said as he points Melodic Cudgel at her while Neo and their Pokemon stared.
"Does not the chance of Ruby Rose's death satisfy you enough? Does not the satisfaction of her spirit break and soul crush enough for you?" Cinder said as the two thieves look at each other.
"Even if we did join you, what would stop you on stabbing us on the back?" Roman said questioningly as Neo put her parasol on her shoulder.
"Do you have to ask that?" Cinder asked as she melted the dagger on her hand. " Salem instructed me not to kill her, but not the two of you. You can do what ever you want."
Cinder's dagger disintegrates and she stands up to walk towards Roman and Neo.
"Help me get to Atlas, help me find her... and the rest is up to the both of you," Cinder said as the theives look at each other.
Roman and Neo ponders about Cinder's words as Roman then hesitantly hold out his hand. Cinder takes Roman's hand with her own, sealing the deal with a handshake but the older thief pulled her in.
"Try anything and you'll be sorry," Roman said which made Cinder click her tongue.
"You won't disappoint," The false Maiden said.
Wind is heard howling. In a mountainous region, a lone, cloaked feminine figure with a skull mask concealing her face crosses a rickety bridge. Halfway across the bridge, she hears the screech of a Nevermore. She turns to her left to see the Nevermore appear from the fog, and she draws her weapons - a pair of sickles.
The young Maria backflips off the bridge just as the Nevermore rams through it, splitting the bridge in half. She throws one of her sickles at one of the Nevermore's wing and uses the gravity Dust imbued in it to pull herself back up, while also dragging the Nevermore down. She grabs her other sickle on her way back up, getting above the Nevermore, and uses the recoil of her weapon to spin and grapple onto the Nevermore. She then throws one of her sickles to a mountain, pulling the Nevermore with it. The Nevermore crashes into the mountainside, losing its balance, before crash landing to the ground. Maria's other sickle is called back and lands on the ground in front of it.
Maria takes out the sickle from the Nevermore's wing, catching her breath. She looks over to the Nevermore's head, whose eyes stare back at her, causing her to gasp. The Nevermore tries to snap its beak at Maria, forcing her off. It swipes at her, knocking Maria back and forcing her to drop her sickle. The Nevermore charges forward, but Maria's eyes glow brightly, engulfing the area around her. She stands back up and notices the Nevermore petrified in midair, before dropping down and crumbling. Maria walks over to her sickle to pick it up, using the gravity Dust to call her other sickle back to her.
Suddenly, Maria deflects a bullet aimed at her. She notices three men - one with a giant hammer, one carrying a rifle, and one with a machete - come out of hiding. Then a woman behind her.
She is a Crocodile Faunus with a shaved head, dark-green grayish mohawk and yellow eyes. She wore a dark green collared shirt with a dark brown corset that has a strap attached to a narrow belt around her thigh, black and gray striped trousers and black shoes. In addition, she wore dark brown fingerless gloves and carried a large stopwatch with her.
Her Faunus trait is a patchy shady green scales all over her body and face. She has an x-shaped scar on the left side of her head, black polish on her nails and sharp metal teeth with two screws in them.
"Well, that's a fancy trick now, innit? 'Fraid it comes with a price though, love," The Faunus said as she crushes a small piece of the petrified Nevermore in her hand.
Maria turns around to face the woman, while the three men ready their weapons and said, "I don't think you realize who I am."
"Course I do," She said as she takes out an alarm clock, setting the timer and placing it on her belt. "You're the Grimm Reaper, and these... are the last sixty seconds of your life."
She hits the button on her clock, starting the timer's countdown. She then draws a pair of saber swords and activates her Aura. The ticking clock can be heard in the background as the battle begins. The Faunus rushes forward and clashes blades with Maria. Maria attacks back, but The Faunus' Aura knocks her sickle out of her hand. She then kicks Maria back, with the latter summoning her other sickle back to her hand. She then proceeds to fight the three men, deflecting their bullets. She cuts down the rifle-wielding man, knocks out the machete-wielder, and dodges out of the way of the hammer user before cutting him down. She then blocks another attack from the Faunus, who manages to push Maria back, causing her Aura to flicker.
Maria's sickles then circle around her due to the Gravity Dust, before combining together to form a double-edged scythe. The crocodile Faunus and the machete-wielder rush forward to attack, but Maria blocks them. The Grimm Reaper then takes down the machete-wielder before proceeding to clash with the Faunus again. The two lock weapons with each other, before the woman uses her razor-sharp metal teeth to chomp through Maria's weapon. The crocodile Faunus headbutts the Grimm Reaper, shattering her skull mask in the process. Maria briefly opens up her silver eyes for a bit, when suddenly, The Faunus slashes at her eyes, permanently blinding Maria.
Silence for a moment, before Maria screams out in pain, her eyes bleeding. She continues to cry out as woman's alarm clock rings. The Faunus presses the button on her clock as her Aura deactivates.
"It was a close call, I'll give you that," The Faunus said. As she walks over menacingly to Maria, who continues to cry out in pain as she holds her blinded eyes. Maria manages to grab one of her sickles and tries to fire at the Faunus, who nonchalantly dodges out of the way. A clicking sound can then be heard from Maria's sickle, indicating her weapon is out of ammo.
"You know, the only reason my master wants you dead, is 'cause of your eyes," The woman then laugh. "But seein' as you ain't got 'em no more, you might be able to convince me to spare your life."
In response, Maria tries to throw her sickle at the crocodile Faunus, but she dodges that too.
The woman chuckles and said, "Well, I respect that, a fighter to the end."
The Faunus readies her saber to kill Maria, but Maria manages to find her other sickle. She clicks the switch on it, calling the other blade back over. The woman, in its path, gets the blade of the other sickle embedded into her back, causing her to fall forward. Maria then uses the sickle in her hand to slash at the Faunus as she falls forward.
Maria could only lay on the ground defenseless till she heard a loud cry from the distance as she fell unconscious.
"I was then in a cave by my strange savior... But I soon went to hiding after that," Maria finished her tale.
Listening to her tale are Team RWBY, Nomad, Mel, Qrow, and Oscar, who all have wide-eyed expressions except for the green haired boy. U. Pichu, the Alolan Vulpix, and Hunch also listened to her tale in awe.
"I can't believe it. You...You're the Grimm Reaper, you were a legend! And then you disappeared..." Qrow said as he was quite astonished by this.
"I've quite heard a lot about her when I was traveling myself, and I am shock to see that she is in front of us this whole time," Nomad said.
"How exactly does a legend just disappear?" Oscar asked him.
"You never used your name, never showed your face. Lots of us thought you were just layin' low. Eventually, we just came to accept that you were probably dead. But the stories about you, I based my weapon off of yours. I wanted to be as good as the Grimm Reaper," The drunkard explained.
"Well, I'm nothing but a disappointment, so you're well on your way," Maria said in shame.
"How can you say that?" Blake questioned the elderly woman.
"Child, a Huntress is supposed to protect others to the bitter end. But after I lost my eyes, I only ever looked after myself. Even after my surgery, I was too afraid to fight. Afraid someone would find me again, finish what the others started. You shouldn't aspire to be like me, especially when some of you are clearly stronger already," Maria said as Yang looks down sadly upon hearing this. "It's... comforting, seeing that your generation seems up to the task of inheriting this world. I'm just sorry I didn't do more to leave it in better shape."
"Well, maybe you can do something now. Teach me to use my powers the way you did," Ruby said as Maria looks back at Ruby, a Scroll's ringtone can be heard. Ruby pulls her Scroll out and gasps in excitement. "It's Jaune!"
Yang stops her bike, looking back in surprise as everyone says, "Huh?"
How did the blonde contacted them?
"How?" Weiss asked.
"Uh, hello?" Ruby answered her Scroll.
"Ruby! Oh, thank you! I've been checking my Scroll for your signal since we made it to the city!" Jaune said in joy.
"The city? Wait..." Ruby looks to her Scroll, her contact name for Jaune being "Vomit Boy". She looks at the little signal symbol under Jaune's portrait, watching it get better as she points her Scroll toward the road ahead. The group sees a hill where the snow ends. Yang proceeds forward to drive them up the hill. At the top of the hill, the group sees a walled city in the distance along the ocean.
Yang smiled and said, "Ladies and gentlemen, we have arrived in Argus."
At the entrance to the city of Argus, Yang inputs a code, "4-5-8", to lock Bumblebee and the trailer in a garage. Team RWBY, Qrow, Nomad, Mel, U. Pichu, the Alolan Vulpix, Oscar, and Maria take the time to admire their surroundings.
"Cute! Boy! OZ!!!" Oscar then looks over in confusion, only to get tackle hugged by Nora.
"Oh, come here!" Nora said in joy as the rest of Team JNPR and Randy arrived.
"Are you all okay?" Ren said as he hug Yang.
"We were so worried!" Jaune said as he hug Blake.
"Hey! We're tough as a rock," Nomad said as Mel lightly elbowed him while Randy chuckled.
"Enough of the tough guy act, we were so worried," Randy said.
"It's been kind of a crazy trip," Yang said.
"That's an understatement," Weiss said as Nora then noticed Maria and Mel.
"Wait, who's the old lady and the kid?" Nora asked.
"I'm so glad you're all safe," Blake said.
"Seriously..." Weiss muttered.
"Ah! You're gonna love this place!" Nora cheerfully said as everyone else engages in their own conversations, Ruby, Pyrrha, and Jaune walk up to each other and the three of them gave each other a big hug. After parting from the hug, Jaune looks down and frowns while Pyrrha comforted him.
"Hey. I promised, didn't I," Ruby sad as Jaune smiles with tears in his eyes.
"Yeah, you did," Jaune said as he wipe his tears. "It's good to see you guys."
"We all did," Pyrrha added as the three shared a smile together.
Later on, the group is seen traveling through the city on a trolley.
"It's a lot bigger than I thought it'd be," Yang said.
"It's actually one of the largest non-capital cities in all of Remnant," Ren said as Ruby let out a gasp.
"No way! But wait, wouldn't it be harder to settle something this big away from the main Kingdom?" Ruby asked.
"Well, it was, until Mantle showed up. Early settlement attempts by Mistral didn't go well. But colonists from Mantle were able to help them brave the cold climate and return for goods that Solitas couldn't provide," Jaune explained.
"The two nations worked together to create a hybrid city. While it falls under Mistral domain, Atlas keeps a military presence here to help keep the people safe and keep trade between the two nations steady," Ren added.
"Well, until recently..." Nora said as the trolley makes a stop and everyone hops off.
"We should probably start looking for a ship," Blake suggested.
"So, where have you guys been staying?" Oscar asked Jaune.
"I really want to sit on something more comfy," Nomad said as he cracks his knuckles while Randy chuckles.
"Um..." Jaune then nervously chuckles.
"There you are!"
As the trolley leaves, everyone saw a blonde woman carrying a young baby boy in her arms on the other side waving at Jaune.
The woman has wavy, dirty blond hair and blue eyes. She wears an orange top with a beige vest, light brown trousers with orange stitches on each side, and dark brown boots. In addition, she wears her wedding ring on her left hand and a bootlace necklace around her neck.
The baby then has short black hair and brown eyes. He wears a white and blue long-sleeved shirt with denim overalls and white socks.
"Is that...?" Yang drawled.
"Hey, Saph," Jaune said with a smile as he waves back.
Ruby then zooms in, all starry-eyed. She looks back and forth between Jaune and the woman, and gasps upon realizing who the woman is.
The group later reconvenes in a living room at a home.
"I can't believe I'm meeting your sister! I have so many questions," Ruby said in excitement.
"Oh, I can give you the rundown later!" Nora volunteered.
"Will you guys knock it off?" Jaune asked in embarrassment.
"What? I love telling stories about my baby brother," Jaune's sister said as she squeezed Jaune's cheeks as he groans while also flailing his arms at his elder sister.
"I am not a baby! That is a baby," Jaune said as he points to the infant who huffy back at him.
Yang and Weiss get all wide-eyed as they fuss over the baby. Both of them make baby talk at him.
"Aww, you're so cute! Yes you are! Oh, look at your little face!" Yang cooed.
"Aww, coochie-coochie! Aw, baby! Oh my!" Weiss cooed as well.
"So Saphron, you're the only Arc living here?" Blake asked the now named Saphron.
A picture on the bookshelf of the Arc siblings all together can be seen, with the young Jaune at the center with pigtails and a deadpan expression while holding a sign that says "HELP" on it while his sisters do various crazy things, with the two younger doing the least. AN:1
"Yep! Moved the second I could. Jaune and I are the only two living away from home," Saphron said in a teasing tone. "I guess he just wanted to be like his big sis."
"I, uh..." Jaune was about to say something till he stop groaning which got a chuckle from his girlfriend.
"Aw, you didn't deny it!" Saphron teased.
The two siblings play fight with each other by pulling each other's cheeks. Then, a door is heard opening to show a woman carrying bags of groceries.
The woman has short dark brown hair and eyes. She has a single smooth bang that goes down her forehead and in between her eyes. She wears a dark navy collar shirt with a light-blue cardigan, dark-gray jeans and red sneakers. She also wears red glasses and a wedding ring.
"Everyone, this is my wife, Terra Cotta," Saphron introduced.
"Hello!" Ruby introduced.
"Hey there!" Nora blurted out.
"Nice to meet you," Blake politely introduced.
"Hello madam," Mel introduced in the same manner as Blake.
Terra chuckles and said, "Why, hello there! Wow, quite a party, you weren't kidding. Hun, can I get some help please?"
Saphron quickly runs over to help Terra in the kitchen. Later on, Jaune, Pyrrha, Ren and Nora are seen preparing sandwiches for everyone.
"And you're sure it's alright if we stay with you?" Weiss asked as the Vulpix is on her lap.
"Of course, we're happy to house Huntsmen and Huntresses," Saphron said as she then look at the two Pokémons. "Along with these creatures you call Pokémon."
"You all risk so much to keep people like us safe. It's the least we can do," Terra said as she turns to Qrow. "Especially for such an elite Huntsman like yourself. Although, I will say I was surprised to learn you had students helping you. Is that even... legal?"
Qrow, not paying attention, gets his arm bumped by his niece.
"Uh, of course. Think of it as an extended training mission. Trust me, I was a professor. Even went to the same academy as them. Let me tell ya, these kids are way better than we were at their age," Qrow said as Jaune, Pyrrha, Ren and Nora walk back into the room with plates full of sandwiches. Ruby gasps happily upon seeing them. "Well, not better than me specifically, but a lot of students--"
"Shut up, there's food!" Ruby cuts him off as everyone heartily eats the sandwiches. Saphron and Terra share a look with each other, before the latter's Scroll is heard buzzing as she sigh.
"Excuse me, I'll be right back," Terra excused as she answered her Scroll and walks out of the room. "Hello?"
"Is everything okay?" Blake asked.
"Oh, yeah, it will be. Terra's a technician for the town's relay tower. Unfortunately, the military's radar system is also housed there," Saphron said as she baby talk at Adrian. "Guess what's been on the fritz lately and who's getting falsely blamed."
Terra peeks back into of the room and said, "Me."
"So, what's your plan for tomorrow?" Saphron asked.
"Well..." Ruby said as she has her mouth stuffed with sandwiches as she then gulp it down. "We're trying to make our way to Atlas. We'll probably start with the military base."
Nora and Ren share concerned looks.
"So, we kind of already tried that, and... it didn't go... super great," Jaune said nervously while Pyrrha look to somewhere else.
"Come on, it couldn't be that bad," Yang said in dismissal.
"It wasn't," Randy said to them with a deadpan look on his face.
The next day, Team RWBY, Nomad, and Mel walks up to the Atlesian Military base on the island off the coast of Argus, only for the gates to abruptly close on them before they could even enter.

RWBY Chibis: VTR Version
The Dog Show
It was the annual Beacon Dog Show as every pet owner staying in Beacon participated for a 5 day vacation to a luxury hotel.
C. Ruby has C. Zwei, C. Cinder has her pet Beowolf, C. Vic has C. Kakashi the C. Manectric, C. Seier has C. Jaune the C. Leafeon.
All four are standing outside in the courtyard with the rest of the gang watching them.
Sitting on a long table are the judges; C. Ozpin, C. Port, and C. Oobleck.
"First event is the Obstacle Course," C. Ozpin said as the four competitors look at each other competitively.
The first obstacle of the Obstacle Course is a long tube, the second obstacle are a bunch of hurdles, and the last one is to catch an unaware C. Blake by her cat ears.
C. Zwei went first as he just walk through the whole course and easily caught C. Blake by surprise as she began to run away while C. Zwei still biting her ear.
Next is C. Cinder's pet Beowolf which struggled through the first and second obstacles and didn't caught C. Blake which made the owner growl in anger.
Next is C. Kakashi as he easily fail the first one because of his speed, but succeeded on the last two as his quick relfex made it easy for him to jump over them, and C. Blake didn't have time to dodge the speeding canine.
Lasty C. Jaune the C. Leafeon gracefully went through all of them as when he walk over to C. Blake, the soon-to-be Liepard Faunus didn't run in instinct because of C. Jaune's biology.
The next event is a swimming race as the four competing pets are one side of the pool.
C. Zwei struggled due to his small size, Kakashi was slightly the same but his leg strength kept him going, C. Jaune used his leafy tail to paddle, and the Beowolf easily win the competition with its strong arms.
The third event is a talent contest as the four competitors are back in the courtyard.
C. Zwei used his new Pokémon skills to impress the judges which got him a score of 6.
C. Cinder's Beowolf tried to impress the judges by some simple tricks, but failed and got a 3.
C. Kakashi tried to show off his incredible speed but he got cocky and rammed a pillar. He got a 2.
C. Jaune then used a Sunny Day as his leaves glistens with the light. He got an 8.
The last event is a cute off.
C. Zwei is the cutest hands down, C. Jaune is a close second, while the latter two aren't so adorable but more intimidating.
It was now the awarding as all four partners sat on four podiums with their owners beside them.
C. Ozpin then went up front to give the results.
"The competitor of last place is..." The competitors and audience look in anticipation. "Cinder and Mike."
C. Cinder could only growl in anger while her Beowolf whimpers.
"Third place is..." The three remaining participants waited in anticipation. "Victor and Kakashi."
C. Vic then sigh about this but smiled as he rub Kakashi's head.
"Second place is..." Everyone were now waiting patiently but we're nervous of the outcome. "Ruby and Zwei, which means the winner of the annual Beacon Dog Show is Seier and Jaune."
C. Seier then celebrated as C. Jaune jump to her arms and began to lick her face while C. Shori grab her on the waist to celebrate for her victory.
The others, except Cinder's group, couldn't help but join in with the couple's celebration.

AN:1 I used my Arc Music Album version since I like it more.
I could feel the end is coming and I feel a tingle of excitement.
RWBY is probably my favorite series that I read in Fanfiction, just the concept of its fantasy and futuristic setting really just amazes me very much, you can do a lot of fanfiction crossovers with RWBY since you can fit in any series that you wanted to make an amazing story.
The series can also do the same but they are more on one side than the other. Some series can fit fantasy if it is told more on fantasy like Naruto, One Piece, and the Fate series. Some can fit futuristic if its all about the future advancement in the world like Boku no Hero Academia and the newly introduced Eden Zero.
Pokémon is the same as RWBY because of all the Pokémons that can easily beat any laws and logic.
I am just happy that the RWBY series was created to inspire me to make the story, and I hope that they will be victorious in the end.
