Just a little more chapters and Volume 7 is coming soon.

Victory through Remnant is now my longest story ever created in my account.

Arc Music Album is sometimes really hard to continue because I really have to do more normal scenes rather than singing, which would made the story a lot more easier but it didn't.

Watching the Elements is just more of an old project that I am hesitant to continue or stop.

I am just really happy that this story got this so far than the rest of my stories, yeah I used the transcripts but I did put some minor and major changes in the story to balance it out.

So for now, let's get right into the story.

Chapter:44 Frustration and Lessons

Team RWBY, Qrow, Oscar, Maria, Nomad, Mel and the two small Pokémons are seen standing outside of the gates to the Atlesian Military base on the island off the coast of Argus. Yang puts her hands on the bars of the gate to speak to the guards.

"Come on! You didn't even hear us out!" Yang complained.

"Our orders are clear: The Mistral-Atlas border is closed!" The first guard said.

"Please!" The second one said.

"Have a good day!"

"But-"

"A good day!" Both of them cut Yang off with a yell.

"Rude much," Nomad said as he was quite displeased by this.

"Hey, if you don't wanna believe that I'm friends with Ironwood--"

"General Ironwood!" The two guards corrected cut Qrow off.

"Yeah, General Ironwood, then fine. But look, we have Weiss Schnee with us and we're trying to get her home safely," Qrow said as Weiss looks down with reluctance upon hearing Qrow say that. The two guards look to each other before turning their attention back to the group.

"Approach!" Both if them shouted.

Weiss shares a look with Blake, who just shrugs. Weiss then walks up to the gate with the Vulpix following behind her and the two guards step up and bend down to inspect her. After a moment, both guards stand straight back up.

"Very well!" Both of them responded.

"You may speak with our commanding officer!" The second one said.

"We will fetch her at once!"

The two guards turn around in sync, and chant "Hup hup hup" and "Atlas Atlas Atlas" as they run to get their superior.

"They were... kind of--" Blake tired to find the right word for it.

"Super weird? Uh, yeah," Ruby said for her.

"I think the word you are thinking is quirky," Nomad said.

"Just about right," Mel said while Maria was deep in thought.

"What's wrong?" Oscar asked Maria.

"Well, I... may know this commanding officer..." Maria said while Mel groans.

"That's good, isn't it? If she's your friend, then maybe she'd be more willing to help us," Ruby said.

"I wouldn't exactly call us... "friends"," Maria said.

"Not even close," Mel said.

"Acquaintances?" Weiss said.

"Not quite," Maria denied.

"Colleagues?" Blake said.

"Warmer."

"Enemies?" Yang said.

"That's the one!"

"Wait, what?" Oscar questioned.

"Oh, yes. I come through here about once every ten years to get my eyes checked up in Atlas. You bring outside cashews on one flight, and suddenly you're placed on the additional screening list for life!" Maria said to them as everyone then look at Mel for his part.

"After half a year arriving in Remnant, I tried to get pass the border but she wouldn't let me through. When I tried to fly over, they shot me down with Electric Dust," Mel said his part as he shivered remembering that day. "I would then have to always go to different borders to not having the same experience."

"You've gotta be kidding me..." Qrow said in disappointment.

"Now, now, let's not give up hope yet," Maria said. "Maybe she's dead!"

"Hopefully," Mel said.

Suddenly, the gates open up quickly, and the two guards return.

"Introducing!" The first guard said.

"Special operative!" The second one said.

"Caroline Cordovin!" Both of them called out as footsteps can be heard approaching before the camera lowers down to reveal a short-statured elderly woman around Maria's age.

She has short silver hair and brown eyes. She wears an Atlesian uniform with black gloves and a dark gray belt.

The elderly woman then steps up as she glares at Maria and Mel.

"Witch. Rat," The woman said.

"She-devil/Hag," Maria and Mel retorted.

"Hm. I've seen you've chosen larger contraband to smuggle this time, especially if you are bringing the rat," The woman said.

"Oh, Cordo. You know they say time changes people, but I see you've still got that stick right up your-"

"H-hello! Miss, uh, Cordovin," Ruby interrupted. "My name is Ruby Rose, and I was wondering if you would hear us out about-"

"I've already heard what your other little friends had to say, Miss Rose," Cordovin said as she look behind the young leader ta little away to see Team JNPR and Randy, with David the Cinderace Faunus and Lanaya the Gardevoir Faunus out, standing a little away behind the group. "What are you doing back here?! I thought I told you to leave!"

Nora and David tried to charge at her but Jaune, Ren, Randy, and Lanaya hold them back.

"And I told you we wouldn't rest until you let us through!" Nora yelled.

"I especially want to beat you up you racist hag!" David yelled.

Ren and Lanaya nervously smiled and waved at her as Ren said, "Nice to see you again as well!"

"You civilians are clearly incapable of comprehending the importance of our mission here in Argus. So allow me to say this slowly, with smaller words: This base, that relay tower, the very safety of Argus are all gifts from the glorious Kingdom of Atlas!" Cordovin said with pride. "And it is my duty to uphold them, as only I have the wit and tenacity for such a task."

"Such wit!" The first guard said.

"Such tenacity!" The second guard said.

"Or maybe Atlas just wanted to get you as far from the kingdom as possible," Maria said as Mel held back his laughter.

Cordovin growled and said, "You're just like the rest of these Argus ingrates! This city wouldn't even be here if it weren't for our Atlesian ancestors, and what do we get in return? The entire world is ready to put a knife to our throats!"

"Please, we know your kingdom had nothing to do with the Fall of Beacon. We were there," Ruby said.

"No one's happy about the Atlas borders or embargo, but I know General Ironwood is just worried. It's why we need to talk to-"

"The General is no coward!" Cordovin cut in. "Atlas is strong. If all the kingdoms plan to make us their enemy, then so be it! Atlas will prevail!"

"Atlas will prevail!" Both guards said.

"Do you guys seriously have to do that?" Yang asked unimpressed as Cordovin sighs.

"If Miss Schnee has truly come to her senses and wishes to return to her family, then, of course, the Atlas military will escort her home. But the kingdom will not be responsible for her "friends" of... questionable character," She said as she glances at Blake and David specifically upon saying her last statement.

"What's that supposed to mean?" Weiss asked in a hostile tone.

"It means we're done here," Cordovin said as the gates to the base are shown closing quickly, leaving the group outside once again.

"Oh yeah? Well, your face looks... like a big dumb boot!" Nora tried to mock the operative but failed.

"Way to show her, Nora..." Jaune said with a deadpan look.

Ruby, Blake and Yang look to Weiss.

"I don't..."

"Weiss," Ruby cut her partner off as she places her hand on her shoulder. "I told you we wouldn't leave your side for a second. We'll find a way to Atlas. Together."

Weiss smiles and nods back at her friend. Qrow starts to walk away.

"So... where are we going now?" Ruby asked.

"Yeah, what's the plan?" Nora asked.

"The plan? The plan just got shut on our face three times over. I'm going for a drink," Qrow said bitterly as Ruby runs over to him.

"Uncle Qrow, I really think we should try and come up with something..." Ruby tried to call for him but he was already far away. "...together."

"What's his problem? It's not your fault we can't go on," Jaune said.

"If he's gonna be a jerk then we'll just come up with something without him. I mean, we've got Ozpin with us! He usually knows what to do," Nora said as Oscar looks down sadly, and Weiss, Blake, Yang, Nomad and Mel exchange troubled looks.

Ren, Pyrrha, and Randy noticed this as Ren said, "What is it?"

Back at Saphron's home, Jaune punches the wall, leaving a very large crack in it.

"Jaune!" Ruby and Pyrrha called out to him in worry.

"Everything we did was for nothing!" Jaune yelled in anger.

"That's not true," Blake said to calm everyone down.

"Really? Cuz it sure does sound like it," Nora said in anger as the Liepard Faunus flinches.

"I, um..."

"If Salem can't be killed, then how are we supposed to win this?" Ren asked but everyone didn't give any response.

"Wow... Great plan everyone!" Jaune said sarcastically as he was still angered after everything.

"Look, none of this is great, we know. But we're not the bad guys here," Oscar assured them as Jaune look at him.

"Are we sure about that?" Jaune said in a hostile tone.

"What?" Oscar could only say in confusion.

"He's in your head, isn't he? Did you already know about this?" Jaune said in anger as he walk up to Oscar.

"Jaune stop!" Pyrrha called out to him but Jaune didn't listen.

"He didn't know any of it!" Weiss said to defend Oscar.

Jaune then grabs Oscar and shoves him against the wall as he said, "How much longer can we even trust him?!"

"Jaune!" Yang yelled at him.

"Put the kid down!" Nomad did as well.

"How do we even know it's really him?! What if we have been talking to that liar this whole time?!" Jaune yelled in anger as Crocea Mors react rather violently to his emotion.

"Jaune!" Ruby yelled at him in anger as she glares at Jaune, who glares back at her. He looks back over to Oscar, who is cowering in fear. Jaune, realizing what he has done, lets go of Oscar with an apologetic look on his face. Jaune then goes upstairs with Pyrrha following. A door can be heard opening and slamming shut which startled U. Pichu and the Vulpix.

"Is he... gonna be okay?" Yang asked in worry.

"I don't know!" Nora said in anger as she gets up and left for her leader.

"I think it would be best if we had some time to ourselves," Ren said as he also get up and left to follow Nora.

Team RWBY, the three Trainers, the two other Faunus, the two Pokémons, and Oscar remain in the living room.

"Maybe we could all use some space," Blake suggested.

Everyone stays silent. Oscar looks down sadly.

Later on, Ruby heads outside onto the backyard porch with her Scroll to her ear.

"Come on, please..." Ruby muttered in worry as she takes away the Scroll from her ear, looking at the screen with Qrow's portrait on it and text above it in red letters saying "NO ANSWER". "Where are you?!" She yelled in frustration as she throws her Scroll into the yard.

"You know, I came out here to avoid the yelling."

Ruby then notices Maria sitting next to a small table with a plate of fruit on it.

"Sorry. The others went to get food for tonight," Ruby said.

"Why not go with them?" Maria asked.

"I don't know..." Ruby said as she sat on the porch. "I don't know anything... What do I tell Jaune and his team when we don't even have a plan? Qrow's out drinking, Ozpin hasn't come back and even if he did, I don't know if I could trust him. And there's always Jinn, but... we only have one more question we can ask her. I feel like I'm letting everyone down..."

"You know, you don't give yourself enough credit," Maria said.

"Oh..." Ruby then chuckles and said, "Thanks."

"That wasn't a compliment."

"Uh... what?"

"If I have to explain it to you, it will just defeat the purpose. But if you're tired of not knowing anything, how about we discuss those eyes of yours?"

"Oh!" Ruby said as she stood up in excitement. "Yes, ma'am, I would be honored!"

"Sit back down, for Pete's sake," Maria said in annoyance as Ruby sits back down. "Let's start with what you do know. Tell me."

"Uh... Silver-Eyed people are supposed to be legendary warriors. Or something. And at the Fall of Beacon, I turned a giant Wyvern into stone," Ruby said as Maria shook her head.

"Oh, boy."

"Look, if I already knew everything I wouldn't be asking for help!" Ruby complained as she crosses her arms and huffs.

"Yelling..." Maria said as Ruby looks back up with a sorrowful expression on her face. "It's not your fault. I had my father to teach me, and even he didn't have all the answers. But what he told me makes sense, given what I've seen."

"Was he a Huntsman too?"

"It wasn't really an official title back in his day. I only knew him as an old soldier and an excellent teacher. I never attended one of those fancy academies of yours, but I scored higher on the license exam than any other Huntsman or Huntress that day," Maria said as Ruby smiled.

"You must've been proud."

"Heh, he would've scolded me for showing off. He'd never been able to find much information about our abilities. Just legends of warriors whose eyes shone like mirrors, reflecting the light of the world onto darkness. He found so little, in fact, that it made him cautious. How could such powerful bloodlines be so rare? Unless something was actively seeking to destroy them."

"Salem..." Ruby said under her breath.

"tried to keep my powers a secret, but as you know, it wasn't enough. I owe my life to my training, and my Semblance. At the end of the day, those are still your most powerful tools."

"What is your Semblance?" Ruby asked.

Suddenly, a lemon drop from the tree, which Maria catches before it could hit the plate of fruit.

""Preflexes"! A silly name I came up with. Hard to explain, but I can sense everything better than most and react to attacks almost before they happen. Combine that with my training and secret ability to turn Grimm to stone, or blind them, or vaporize them," Maria said as she clears her throat. "And that's how you become the Grimm Reaper!"

Maria smiled in pride as Ruby said, "So, how do I laser beam monsters with my eyeballs?"

Maria then smack her cane on Ruby's head and said, "First, you stop thinking like that! I want you to think of all the times you've triggered your powers. What did those moments have in common?"

Ruby rubbed her head as she began to think, "I... was scared, and stressed. Is it emotional? Like unlocking a Semblance?"

"It's emotional but more focused than that. Think, what is it you wanted?" Maria said as Ruby clenches her fists.

"I wanted to protect my friends."

"Precisely! It is the desire to preserve life which fuels the light inside you. And to make no mistake, it is light. Preservation is an extension of creation, or, at the very least, an enemy of destruction. The Creatures of Grimm were made by the God of Darkness, but your light comes from his brother," Maria explained to her.

"How do you know that?" Ruby asked.

"I always knew how to use the light, but never why it only worked on the Grimm. Then, Jinn showed us her vision. Were you paying attention?" Maria said as Ruby closes her eyes and thinks back to when the God of Light destroyed all the Grimm in the Land of Darkness. The God of Light transforms into his dragon form, revealing his own pair of Silver Eyes.

"The God of Light... His eyes!" Ruby said in realization as she stood. "Okay, where do we start?"

"Well, not here. The light will only work in the presence of Grimm. Meaning the only practice you'll get will be a trial by fire. But, what you can do is focus on creating a state of mind that you can tap into when you need it. Don't think about your light as a means of destroying evil, but as a way to protect the people of Remnant," Maria said.

"But, that can't be right," Ruby said as she remembered something.

"Hm?"

"You said the light only reacts to Grimm, but... I used it during our battle at Haven. It reacted to Cinder."

"Interesting... Perhaps there was something that you just weren't seeing?"

"Ruby!"

The little reaper then notices Yang at the door. Ruby walks back into the house to see Weiss, Blake and the three Trainers present as well.

"Oh, hey guys," Ruby said as Team JNPR entered the room.

"What's going on?" Jaune asked.

"It's Oscar. He's missing," Blake said in a sad tone.

Ruby and Team JNPR become shocked to hear Oscar went missing as Ruby and Jaune look at each other with concerned looks on their faces.

Omake:

Tale of Two Champions: Going Deeper

Shori and Seier are currently walking through carefully in the abandoned city of Mt. Glenn to investigate a certain building. The two could've continued further till they heard something walking around them.

Seier gave her husband the silent gesture as Shori nods and the two slowly walk through the abandoned city, but a worn down brick fall beside the two which alerted the horde.

"Shoot," Shori said in dismay as the two quickly get out of there cover to fight them.

A group of Beowolves charge right at Seier but the art seer jump on her husband's back and fired at them with her scimitar/shotgun weapon which stop their charge which give Shori the opportunity to burn them with his flamethrower/hook blade.

When a group of Ursa tried to blindside him, one successfully ram him to the ground but Seier quickly went to her husband's side and quickly kill them off.

"You kay?" Seier asked as Shori stood up while his Semblance began to heal his injuries.

"Never better," Shori said as he began to charge at the Grimms as he used the hooked blade of his weapon to grab an Ursa by its neck and threw it with immense force to a group of them.

Shori then also charge to a group of Grimms as she leap into the air which made the Beowolves jump up to follow her, but she pelted them with bullets that easily destroys them. When she lands, she began to hack and slash the surrounding Grimms with her blades and finishing another with her two blades.

"Over there!" Seier then look to her husband as she saw him pointing to an abandoned building. "That's the place!"

"Go! Go!" The two then ran for the building while the horde kept chasing them.

As they entered the building, the couple then took cover and attacked the incoming horde with fire and bullets. Grimm after Grimm, the two noticed that they are slowly running out of ammunition as they are thinking of going melee, till they noticed that the Grimms are slowly retreating.

"Where are they going?" Shori asked as Seier is deep in thought till her eyes glowed and widen in size.

"Get ready to hold onto something!" Seier shouted as the ground below them blew up as the two of them began to fall.

The two scream in fear as Shori quickly grab his wife by her waste, and used Fury's hooked blade to get himself and Seier hang safely when the blade puncture the pipe which stops the two's descent by a screeching halt. The two took in some air to relax themselves as they look down to see rubble filled bottom.

"We need to go down slowly," Seier said as the two climb onto the pipe and began to scale down the craggy wall to go safely down. The two safely land on the ground by a few meters as they then began to look around till they saw a large tunnel ahead. "Let's go."

The two then ran through the tunnel to see the subterranean city as they look around till they saw a large bomb.

"You got to be kidding me," Shori said as he look at the bomb till he saw Grimms charging at them. "Are you serious."

"Less talking, more getting rid of that bomb," Seier said as he and Shori then charge at the horde horde with their blades.

Shori then put his weapon on his back and ran for the bomb as he used his weapon to grab the Grimms, and used them as ammo to catapult them to a group of them, he then began to push the bomb while Seier cut them down with her blades. He kept pushing the bomb till he saw a giant chasm right up ahead and began to push the death trap with renew vigor as he let out a roar of defiance.

"Hurry!" Seier called out as she continues to cut down more of the Grimms that kept charging at them in more numbers.

"RAHH!" Shori pushed and pushed the bomb with all of his strength till he finally reached the edge as the bomb fell inside the chasm and blew up without risking any damage. He then sat down in relief while Seier finished off the last of the Grimms.

Suddenly, Seier's eyes glowed and grew in shock as she quickly turn to her husband and shouted, "Look out!"

Shori quickly turn around to see a glowing Creep rushing at him and quickly used Fury to grab it by its neck and threw it in the chasm as it blew up by itself.

The two then look around to see more Grimms along with more glowing Creeps surrounding them.

"We need backup," Shori said.

"And we have them," Seier said as the two of them grab their Pokéballs in their pockets.

"Go! Rash!/ Reach to the stars! Sun!" The two Trainers then let out their Starters as they let out their battle cries while Grimm let out their own.

"Rash use Frenzy Plant!" The Seed Pokémon then let out a roar as he stomps the ground, and giant spiky roots came out of it as it crushed any Grimms in front.

The Grimms then charged in undeterred as they just jump over the roots.

"Sun use Close Combat!" The Flame Pokémon then charge and began to pummel the Grimm down with his bare fists and feet while Shori followed along and used Fury to beat the Grimm as well.

Seier then charge in as well while Rash used Razor Leaf to support them from the distance. Shori vaulted over an Ursa and quickly used his weapon to grab it by its neck and threw it to Sun who used Close Combat on it while using Flamethrower to the ones that are charging at him.

Sun then use Dig to avoid a group of Grimms charging at him which gave Rash the time to use Poison Powder at them. Seier then cut one of the glowing Creeps to pieces as it blew up while Sun came out of the ground to punch a pair of Beowolves into the air which gave Ras time to use Razor Leaf to the exposed Grimms to cut them in half.

While the poisoned Grimms are slowly going away, Shori beats the living hell out of the Grimms with his weapon while Rash used Frenzy Plant again to push the army of Grimms away that will get crushed by the giant roots.

The number of Grimms quickly dwindles down by the four as Seier chop off the final Ursa's neck which finishes off the horde.

The four of them sigh in relief as Shori, Seier, and Sun the Infernape lay on Rash's back while the giant toad-like dinosaur lay down on his stomach.

"So where to next?" Shori asked as Seier look on her Scroll and frowns as she turn it off.

"Forever Fall."

Omake End

And that is for this chapter.

I am very happy to have finally finish this. Doing the Omake really took a huge chunk of time because I have to think of what was happening since I am so lazy to watch the playthrough for it.

But first, I have planned two stories for the future that I am really excited to make since I have the confidence for it when I continue VTR.

I am also debating on not doing a sequel for VTR for the time being since I have no idea what to do for it now except for a prequel.

I have thought of using One Piece, the Fate series, and BNHA for the sequel, but I really got nothing that would help me with it since I rarely watch anime because I prefer reading here in .

The prequel is all about Vic's journey through Hoenn as I will show his struggles and rising throughout the story since I have the help of Bulbapedia to make me remember to what comes after it.

So for now, I just hope that you guys enjoyed the chapter and I'll see you on the next chapter.

Vic out Peace.
