Chapter:47 Colossus! Move on and Out!
Cordovin controls the giant Atlesian mech, which trudges through the ocean, and goes after the airship Maria, Mel, Nomad, and Weiss took before.
"You're joking, right? You want to fight this thing?!" Weiss said in outrage.
"We've fought giant monsters before. This is just a tiny old lady... with one very big robot," Ruby pointed out reluctantly.
"You little spider-roaches thought you could creep your way to Atlas?! Well, let's see how your resolve holds out against the might of the Atlesian Military!" Cordovin yelled as she prepares to take down the airship with a missile that pops out from a slot on the arm cannon. The missile fires and tracks the airship, but suddenly, it explodes harmlessly just right behind it. Cordovin turns to see Ruby with her Crescent Rose while Yunero having his hand in a finger gun, and the other Pokémons glaring at her. Ruby and Yunero lower their weapon/hand and they glare at Cordovin while the others get ready to fight.
She growls and yelled out, "SO BE IT!"
Cordovin prepares to shoot the missile at Ruby and the others. Weiss Mel, Nomad and Maria sees Cordovin doing so in shock.
"Dive!" Weiss shouted as she unbuckles her seatbelt and gets off from her seat while Maria dives for the landing while the Pokémons inside held on. As Maria heads to the others, Mel and Nomad's cut some of the missiles down while Weiss approaches the airship door with Myrtenaster in her hand. She jumps off and raises her weapon creating a rock wall and protecting the group from Cordovin's ice Dust attack.
"That was close," Oscar said in relief.
"We need to figure out how to stop Cordovin and protect the airhsip until we do," Ruby said.
"Let's give her more targets to focus on," Jaune said.
"You mean us, don't you?" Nora questioned.
"I think it's the most logical decision," Pyrrha defended her boyfriend.
"Exactly. Look at that thing. It's not designed for small enemies. It's probably meant for giant Grimm that come in from deeper waters. We can turn our size into an advantage. We just have to be smart," Jaune explained.
"Maria, can you keep the ship out of harm's way?" Ruby asked.
"They can take my driver's license, but I won't let them take this ship!" Maria said in defiance.
"Very reassuring..." Ren said in a deadpan tone.
"I'll be more useful if I go with her. From up high, I can try to spot a weakness," Oscar volunteered.
"Well, he's not the only one who can grab a bird's eye view," Qrow said with a smile.
"Then let us cover the land," Randy said as he went to his Specter Form.
"You said you needed me on the ground?" Weiss asked Ruby.
"Not exactly," Ruby said with a nervous smile.
As the team strategizes, Cordovin keeps an eye on their location keenly. Suddenly, her eyes widen as the group splits into three: Team JNPR, Randy, and most of the present Pokémon run down the left path along the cliff, Maria flies the airship to the right, and Ruby, Qrow, Bacchus, and Monarch fly straight up into the air using her Semblance, his corvid form and the two Pokémons flight ability, respectively. Ruby reforms from her Semblance and fires Crescent Rose, cracking the mech's windshield and causing Cordovin to growl. She fires a volley of missiles to Ruby's location.
Ruby lands on a tree branch and uses her Semblance to dodge the missiles. She eventually reforms and runs and jump along the missiles before freefalling down to the ocean. An incoming wave is frozen by Weiss as Ruby slides along it.
"Let's go!" Ruby called out to her partner as Weiss also slides off the frozen wave before using Myrtenaster to freeze small patches of ice for her and Ruby to leap on toward the mech. As Cordovin keeps her attention on them, her mech is suddenly struck by a volley of pink grenades.
"Hey! Over here!"
"What?!" Cordovin yelled out in shock as she looks over to Jaune's group as they keep running.
"And you said it wasn't beach season!" Nora said to Ren.
"Keep running Nora," Pyrrha scolded the ginger.
"You don't want that piece of junk caught us off guard would you?" Randy remarked.
Jaune's group then take cover behind a boulder for each of them. Nora fires off more grenades from Magnhild, but suddenly, a hexagonal shield pattern appears protecting Cordovin's mech, doing no damage to her.
Cordovin mockingly laughs and said, "Surely you knew Atlas was the father of hard-light Dust, or do lesser kingdoms simply lack proper education?"
"Nobody cares you dwarf!" Drago called out but quickly took cover when Cordovin charges up her mech's arm cannon again, this time firing rock Dust, forcing Jaune's team to abandon their cover.
"Cordo just activated shields!" Jaune called out to his everyone.
"I saw that. We need to find whatever's generating it," Oscar said.
"You know, in video games, the weak spot's usually on the back of the giant boss!" Ruby said.
"Ruby, this isn't a game!" Weiss scolded her.
"I'm just trying to-- LOOK OUT!!" Ruby quickly warn them as Cordovin's mech is seen stomping at a part of the ocean. Unbeknownst to her, Qrow flies around in his avian form with Bacchus and Monarch behind him.
"You are ants! You are lower than ants!" Maria continues to mock them.
As Qrow flies through the clouds, he transforms back into his human form and takes out Harbinger's scythe form. He propels himself forward and grapples onto the giant mech.
"Ah! What was that?!" Cordovin shouted in shock.
"Until the shield's down, we're gonna have to get up close and personal with this thing," Qrow said as he starts to fire at the scratch he just made with Monarch firing a Bug Buzz at it while Bacchus went for a Fly. Suddenly, he notices the mech's giant hand start to reach for him. Qrow, Bacchus, and Monarch dodges out of the way as Qrow transforms back into his avian form.
"That's easier said than done!" Ren said.
"Weiss and I are on it!" Ruby said as she and Weiss land on a patch of ice on the ocean together.
"Hold on!" Weiss called out as she stabs Myrtenaster into the ground, creating an ice attack that knocks Cordovin's mech off balance for a bit. Cordovin let's out a frustrated yell. As the airship flies by, Oscar realizes something.
"Wait, that's it. When she..." Oscar was cut off when Cordovin suddenly aims her cannon at Ruby and Weiss which caused him to gasp. "RUBY, MOVE!!"
Cordovin fires a volley of missiles at Ruby and Weiss, creating a large plume of water. From it, Weiss and Ruby emerge unharmed as they ride Weiss' Queen Lancer summon. Ruby leaps off and uses Cresecent Rose to propel herself onto Cordovin's mech, embedding the scythe's blade into it. Maria cheers Ruby on. The force of Ruby's strike knocks the mech back into the cliffside, the tremors being felt by the citizens in Argus. Cordovin let's out an enraged scream.
"Go!!" Jaune called out as everyone proceeds forward. Ren leaps onto the mech's arm and runs along it, while also using the blades of StormFlower to hang on. Jaune uses the two handler form of Crocea Mors to slash at the mech's hip joint, Nora uses the hammer form of Magnhild to smash at the arm cannon, Pyrrha fired right at the joints of the mech with Miló, and Randy and his team went to separate ways to help take down the mech. Cordovin manages to stand the mech back up, causing Ruby to be lowered down into her view on the windshield. Ruby hangs on to Crescent Rose as she nervously smiles and waves at Cordovin.
"Get off of me!" Cordovin yelled out in anger as she tries to grab Ruby with the mech's left hand, forcing Ruby to let go as she uses her Semblance to fly downward. Luckily, Weiss flies by on her Queen Lancer summon and catches Ruby.
"Heh."
"What if I hadn't caught you?" Weiss questioned.
"I knew you would," Ruby said with a wide grin.
Weiss just groans. As they fly around the mech, Ren lowers himself down along the mech's back with Charles as he has a black broadsword with him. The two notices a panel with a humming machine sound coming from it. Ren and Charles uses their blades to pry the panel off, but almost falls as the mech keeps moving around. Fortunately, Qrow appears and catches Ren's wrist while Monarch caught the Corviknight Faunus with Psychic.
"Gotcha. What'd ya find?" Qrow asked as he tosses Ren back up while Monarch put Charles back down as they look at the panel he just opened. They see a whirring machine with the label "AUTHORIZED PERSONNEL ONLY, SHIELD GENERATOR" written on top of it.
"Well, alright then," Qrow said as he, Ren, Charles, and Monarch fires at it with their method of attacking, disabling the mech's shields. Cordovin watches her screen as the shields are reduced to zero.
"No, no, no, no!!" Cordovin yelled out in horror till she feels a tremor as Nora fires a volley of grenades at her while Drago has a rocket launcher on his shoulder and fired a volley of arrow shaped rockets.
"You get back here with my man!" Nora yelled as she and Drago continued firing at Cordovin, Weiss and Ruby fly by to Ren, Qrow, Charles, Monarch, and Bacchus.
"Jump on!" Weiss called out as Ren and Qrow did so while Charles let out a pair of corvid wings under his cape and flew by the two other Pokémons. Nora and Drago continues to fire until theg runs out of ammo. Suddenly, Jaune and John notices Cordovin lifting up the mech's arm. Jaune and the Steelix Faunus runs over to Nora and Drago.
"I've had enough of you ingrates!" Cordovin yelled out in anger as she slams the mech's arm into the four, knocking them back and breaking their Auras. Jaune, Nora, and Drago struggles to get back up while John felt a lot of pain from his sturdy body.
"No!" Ren called out in horror as Weiss suddenly gasps when Cordovin fires the mech cannon at her group at point blank range, destroying the Queen Lancer summon and knocking herself, Ren, Qrow and Ruby back over to the cliff while the three flyers quickly get out of the way. Ruby uses her Semblance to fly back over to the cliff, but falls short. Ruby embeds the blade of Crescent Rose into the cliffside and holds on for dear life. She notices Cordovin approaching her.
"This is what happens when you think you know better than those rightfully in charge!" Cordovin yelled in anger.
From the airship, Oscar and Nomad notices Ruby in trouble and Oscar runs over to Maria.
"We gotta do something!" Oscar said.
Maria flicks some switches on the controls and flies back over to the mech. Just as Cordovin is about to fire her arm cannon at Ruby, Maria flies by and fires a missile. Suddenly, the mech grabs the missile with its hand, causing Cordovin to turn the mech around to Maria's direction.
"Calavera..." Cordovin said in silent anger.
Everyone watches helplessly as Cordovin fires the missile toward the airship's direction. Mel and Nomad quickly ordered their Pokémons to hit the missile, but the missile immediately hits and explodes in front of the airship, causing it to rattle...
Back in the forest, Blake, David, and Adam continue to fight each other intensely. The two former partners blades clang loudly as they clash back and forth while David tries to find a vantage point to help her.. As their blades lock, Blake hears a distant explosion from behind her. Blake's distraction causes her to dodge quickly from Adam's attack. Blake uses the kusarigama form of Gambol Shroud to grapple and swing from tree to tree. Adam gives chase but quickly step away when David shot some fireballs at him as the Cinderace Faunus went by Blake's side.
"Can you two do anything besides run?!" Adam yelled in anger as began to chase them. He then leaps onto a tree trunk and leaps off of it as he continues to pursue Blake and David, with the former continues leaping from branch to branch while the latter runs below the canopy. Adam then fires Wilt and it crashes into Blake's kusarigama just as she was about to grapple onto another tree. Due to her loss of momentum, Adam manages to catch up and slash at her, but he merely just slashes Blake's trench coat off, David quickly joins them as he tried to get a hit on Adam, but the Bull Faunus evaded it. With this, Blake then kicks off Adam, knocking him back. As Blake lands back on the ground, she and David fires at Adam, who blocks some of her shots but some manage to still hit him. The three then leap out of the forest and find themselves on a natural stone bridge in front of a waterfall.
The two then clash again, with Blake evading Adam's attacks with her own Semblance. Blake manages to catch Adam's sword with her own cleaver/sheath, leaving Adam to defend himself with Blush. Eventually, Adam catches Blake's wrist and blocks her katana with Blush while he kicks David hard to a rock.
"I wouldn't have to be doing this if you just behaved!" Adam said angrily as he suddenly grabs his sword and flings away Blake's cleaver, before knocking her in the side of her head with the hilt of Wilt. Blake gets knocked back several feet.
"But you're SELFISH!!" He knocked her back again.
"You're a COWARD!" He knock her back again by a few feet.
"You're delusional...!" Blake retorted as three fireballs were fired at Adam, but he quickly deflected them. She saw David struggling to stand with a clear bruise on his left leg when he hits the rock.
Adam then points his sword at Blake's abdominal scar that he gave her before. Adam then uses his Semblance, which causes Blake's katana blade to break in half. The broken weapon clatters a few feet away from Blake.
Adam then stops to remove the blindfold from his eyes.
"People hurt me long before we met... All sorts of people in all sorts of ways..." Adam said as Blake looks away sadly when she heard this. "... but no one hurt me quite like you..."
Blake looks back up to Adam as she sees his own eyes: his right eye a healthy blue eye, his left eye scarred permanently with a brand labeled "SDC".
"You didn't leave scars, you just left me alone," Adam said.
As Adam continues talking, Blake and David hears a certain motorcycle drawing close.
"So... tell me, Blake... how does it feel to be alone?" Adam asked.
Blake doesn't pay attention to what Adam says as she and David hears the noise get closer. Suddenly, Adam raises his sword and lets out a loud yell in fury as he stabs Blake in the abdomen.
Suddenly, her form disappears, another Semblance clone. Adam then looks behind him as Blake picks up her cleaver while David hop his way to her.
"I'm not alone," Blake said with a serious tone.
"Because there are still many people that cares for her," David said as he straightened his bruised leg despite the pain he was feeling.
Suddenly, from above the waterfall, Yang drives off the cliff and hurls her motorcycle, which crashes into Adam, knocking him down, before falling off into the river below.
Yang lands a few feet away from Blake and David as she stares down Adam.
"You..." Adam seethed in anger as Yang fires a shot Adam, which he blocks. Yang then activates the shotgun in her prosthetic arm.
"Yang!" Blake called out in worry but she suddenly to her knee as she holds her stomach in pain while David stayed by her side.
"It's okay. Catch your breath for a second. I can hold him off," Yang assured them.
"You better blondie," David muttered as he fell from knees.
"She's right, Blake. It's okay, we have... unfinished business," Adam said.
The two combatants stare each other down. Adam makes the first move, delivering a series of quick slashes and Semblance arcs that knock Yang back a short distance. Eventually, Yang starts to strike back, managing to land some hits on Adam that he wasn't able to block.
Yang knocks Adam back a good distance before firing at him. He blocks and absorbs the shots with his sword. Adam then quickly runs in circles around Yang before letting out another Semblance attack that causes Yang to slide back a short distance.
"His Semblance is like yours! He absorbs energy through his sword, stores it up and then sends it back when he's ready," Blake warned her partner.
"He gets to dish out damage without having to feel it?" Yang questioned and sighs. "That's just cheap..."
"Are you kidding?! Every hit I gave him is just a Counter waiting to come out!" David yelled in shock.
The two proceed to trade blows again. Yang lands a series of punches and kicks on Adam, but he manages to send her back when she punches his sword. Yang gets knocked back next to Blake and the two share a glance with each other. Adam notices this and lets out an angered growl. He readies his Semblance once again.
"YANG!!" Blake yelled in horror.
"Get out of there!" David yelled.
With a loud yell, Adam lets out a devastating attack with his Semblance. When the smoke clears, Yang is still standing much to her two friends relief, though her prosethetic arm has some small scrathes in it and her foot barely hangs off the edge of the bridge. She lowers her arm and glares at Adam.
"Leave. Us. Alone. This is your last chance," Yang said in anger as Adam stares back at the two as he grips the hilt of his sword again. Yang's left arm trembles slightly.
"Heh, do you really believe that? Or are you just trying to scare me away so you won't have to die trying to protect her?" Adam mocked her.
Yang, angered, prepares to fight him again despite her hand still trembling. Suddenly, Blake takes Yang's hand with her own.
"She's not protecting me, Adam. And I'm not protecting her," Blake said as Adam glares back at the two of them angrily. "We're protecting each other."
The two partners stand hand in hand in solidarity as they glare at Adam together while David chuckles.
"There is nothing stronger than a true bond."
Omake:
Tale of Two Champions: In the Fall
Shori and Seier are currently running through Forever Falls with completely reloaded weapons so they could continue their investigation.
"Where now?" Shoi asked his wife.
"Left," The two then went left to a clearing where they meet face to face with a horde of Grimms again.
"You got to be kidding me," Shori said as the two let out their weapons.
The two then charge in with the horde doing the same as the two began to kill them all.
Seier quickly jump over a Beowolf and open fired when she was just below it and kicked away another one that is just behind it.
Shori quickly block a Boarbatusk that was about hit him with Fury so he hits the Grimm hard like a golf ball while burning a group of Grimms that was about to strike.
The two then come together as Seier stood on her husband's weapon as Shori spun around while letting out some flames and Seier shooting.
Seier would then jump off to kick the head of an Ursa Major which caused it to step back from the attack which gave Seier the advantage to shoot multiple bullets on its stomach.
When they cleared off every Grimm in the area, they move on to the next as the two continued running.
"I-"
"You will not change my mind," Shori said. "I know what that man did when we were in Mt. Glenn to explore, but you shouldn't do this by your own."
"It is still infuriating that he still wasn't caught and I really partially blame the Vale council for this," Seier said in a sad tone.
"People aren't perfect, that is why the next generation would take our place and make the world better," Shori said as Seier chuckles.
"You are still the same goofball those years back," Seier said.
"I aim to please."
The two then reach a small crater as more Grimms comes out to hunt them.
Shori quickly put his hands together for Seier to step on so he could launch her into the air to give Seier some height to kill a crowd of Grimms. He then quickly turn around to burn the Grimms that was about to charge at him to ashes.
Seier then landed on the ground and began hacking the Grimms surrounding her with her blades as she spun like a spinning top to cut off either their heads or limbs.
When a Ursa Major was about to slam Shori with its paw, the wedded man grabbed its arm with his hook blade and slammed the large Grimm into the ground with a loud thud and threw it to a group of Grimms. He then grabbed the snout of a Beowolf and proceeds to break it with his bare hands while puncturing the belly of Boarbatusk with his weapon.
Seier ran backwards to stay away from a group of mutant Creeps while firing some more shoots at any Grimms that would charge at her. When her back hit a wall, she used her twin scimitars as platform and jump off them when the mutant Creeps crashed onto the wall and blew up, Seier went to use some fighting styles that she learns before receiving her weapons and fought them off till she got both her weapons back.
The two then come back to each other's backs as the Grimms continued to mindlessly attack them and the couple just mowed them down till either they are decapitated, shot, or burned to ashes.
The two quickly ran to the next area till they reach a temple with the same cages in Mt. Glenn, they began to investigate the area while reloading all of their weapons to full capacity.
"It's clearly that man's handy work," Seier said as she skimmed her fingers on the cages.
"I really wonder why he would create those mutants, he must be very crazy," Shori said as he looks around the temple.
"Or a maniac."
The then heard a loud crumble as they saw a new hordes of Grimm with mutant Beowolves with them.
"Here we go again," Shori said as he used Fury to burn the incoming Grimms while Seier rushed in with her blades.
The Grimms also charge in as multiple Boarbatusks went first and Shori used their momentum to sling them pass Seier to give her some platform to step on. His wife then fired burst of shots to the enemies below her as she keeps them away with her blades while blasting some with her weapon's gun mode.
She then have to back away when the mutant Beowolf slammed its fists on the ground and glowing green spikes appears on the ground that almost hits her. Seier would then flip backwards to avoid a Boarbatusk rolling at her as she used her weapon to correct herself and fired to two Ursas that charged to her sides.
Shori then charged at the mutant Beowolves and let out flames from Fury as the mutant Grimms back away in fear of burning while Shori slowly moves forward and Seier defending his back.
Seier then spins around in the air and decapitated multiple heads of Grimms as she neared Shori's back and began shooting the Grimms away from him. Shori then spun his body as his wife jump on his weapon and threw her to the mutant Beowolves and Seier blast their heads off. Shori then torched the Grimms behind him while grabbing one charging Boarbatusk with his hook blade and threw the flaming pig to the horde.
One by one, the couple slowly take down the Grimms numbers till Shori finished the last one by turning it to ashes.
"Where now?" Shori asked as he snuff out the flames, and the two get out of the temple.
Seier for a minute till her eyes glowed and said, "Follow me."
Seier then leads them to place where a bunch of shipping containers are placed as the two looked around till she saw an open container by the edge of a cliff.
"Over there," Seier said as the two entered the container.
Shori look around the container and said, "So what now?"
Suddenly the container began to move as it was brought off the ground.
"We wait," Seier simply said as she sat down while reloading her weapon.
They are getting closer to their destination.

And that is for this chapter.
Boy did this took long, while I do make this chapters in advance, you must know that it takes a lot of time to make one and I have so many things to do instead.
I always thought of giving some more updates some time to adjust to you folks but I guess that it depends for you guys. I think I am updating a bit too fast.
But I guess that is how it goes, not many really scheduled their stories and I'm starting to mine.
