Making the Best of It
Chapter 25
Wayne Manor
Bruce was preoccupied with reading to Elissa one of her favorite books, Goodnight Moon, slightly bouncing her on his lap occasionally, so engrossed in reading to his daughter he barely heard Diana enter the sitting room.
"Bruce," she started almost breathlessly, clad in her armor. She brightened up when she noticed her daughter, who turned her head when she heard her mother's voice. "Hello, my love," the Amazon cooed, reaching out to her child.
Elissa effortlessly responded, smiling brightly at her mother, reaching for her with her tiny hand. Constant babbling spilling from her mouth, the urge to speak becoming more frequent.
Smiling, Diana took her daughter's hand in her own and pressed a kiss to the little hand. "How are you today? Are you having a good day?" she asked sweetly.
Instead of words, Elissa only smiled, her few teeth displayed profoundly.
"Everything okay, Diana?" the billionaire inquired curiously. While he was moved to see mother and daughter interact, he was curious on what the Amazon had to ask him. He felt she had something urgent to tell him.
"What in Hera's name is Snu Snu?" she came off so genuinely curious that the man had to do a double take.
"W-What?" he stuttered. He never expected her to ask him such a question. "Where did you hear that?"
"Some men were shouting it at Barda and myself when we walked in the Hall of Justice together," she shrugged nonchalantly. "We had no idea what they were talking about. So, I asked Dinah, who laughed in my face for five minutes. I got tired of it, so I walked away and came home. What does it mean?"
Inhaling deeply for strength, he answered, "It's a… thing from some television show. Go online and find out. I'm surprised it's taken this long for you to learn about it," he acknowledged.
A fine eyebrow rose in puzzlement but decided to do what he suggested. To say she got a few chuckles out of it all was an understatement.
Well after Elissa had been put down for a nap, Bruce, who was reading something on the couch was suddenly picked up and thrown over Diana's strong shoulder.
He was not even surprised. If anything, he was resigned to his fate.
I guess she watched the videos, he deadpanned to himself in thought.
"Snu Snu?"
"Snu Snu!" she declared excitedly with an eager smile.
Bruce could only sigh as she flew them upstairs to her bedroom.
Both dark-haired people were confident in their relationship. With Bruce telling the Amazon he was fine with her working alongside her ex-boyfriend, she believed him. She had never given him the slightest inkling that she would look at another the same way she looked at Bruce. However, the Amazon had an issue. She was a little anxious about Bruce looking at someone else in the same way as she. Given how their relationship started no one could blame her doubts. No matter what the extenuating circumstances were.
They were cheaters.
She did not voice any of it because she did not want to kick up the hornet's nest that was thought long buried.
Unfortunately, no one told one of Bruce's ex 'companions' he used to maintain his disguise as a billionaire playboy that he was taken.
Some ditzy blonde kissed the dark-haired man at a charity gala they both attended, one the Wayne Foundation planned, mainly Diana.
The Amazon was frozen stiff as she watched with wide eyes when the blonde woman kissed Bruce. A few guests saw it as well and thought it was about to go down.
Much to their disappointment, Diana did nothing. She cooled her features and went right back to discussing the topic she was on before the blonde accosted her boyfriend.
Her back was turned when Bruce gently pushed her off and told her he was off the market for quite a while. Namely the next seventeen years, but he hoped longer.
When the gala was over, the couple drove home in absolute silence sprinkled with such an awkward silence that was unbearable. Diana didn't say a word to him nor look at him. She just got in the car and stared out the window as Bruce drove them home. She refused to respond when he tried desperately to explain that there was no reciprocation.
Yet she held her tongue with a blank look on her face.
With a frustrated sigh, the dark-haired man focused on the road.
They entered the manor in silence. Bruce could not help but notice no sign of Alfred, he could guess the man went to sleep as he babysat Elissa.
He was vaguely aware that Diana was walking around setting down her purse. He loosened his tie, turning his body just in time to witness the Amazon's fierce scowl on her face. He paled at the wrath she exuded.
In two strides she walked right up to him never breaking eye contact with his. His body tensed as he prepared for a very heated rant about the error of his ways and his abuse of women.
Instead, she cupped him tightly. Her strong hand that could crush stone into dust held his very delicate parts, a wince on his face.
The Amazon had not lost that fierce grimace on her face. She stared at his wincing face, grasping his manhood as a warning.
"This is mine," she told him. "This is where my baby came from," she told him in no uncertain terms. She saw him give her a pitiful nod in acceptance.
Inwardly, she thought of him as a wimp as she was not holding him too hard.
Taking pity she released him, watching him let out a relieved sigh.
"Get upstairs," she commanded with authority. "I'm going to remind you whose bed you share."
She said it with such fire that all the blood in the man's body went down. Almost eagerly, he nodded, making his way upstairs to her bedroom with her not far behind.
She broke the bedpost that night. It was solid oak.
Needless to say, Bruce was not looking at any other woman but Diana.
Diana's Bedroom
The rays of sunshine peaked into the Amazon's bedroom, the beams of light missing in by a couple feet. Slowly, cerulean eyes opened, and the slumbering Amazon found herself awake.
With a moan she stretched her arms as far as she could before she left the satisfying relief of her muscles and bones popping.
She was vaguely aware that it was early May. And a weekend, so that meant she could relax at home for a while before she went to the Children's Hospital's sick ward.
She had volunteered to go as she wanted to make a few sick children happy for a bit.
She got out of bed and showered and changed. Once she was dressed in her armor, she made a beeline for her daughter's room only to find her absent. Instantly, she went downstairs to find her daughter at the kitchen being fed by Alfred.
The butler had made her eggs which she was greedily consuming. The little girl was so engrossed with her breakfast she did not even spare her mother a glance, content to eat instead.
"Good morning, everyone!" Diana greeted pleasantly as she approached.
"Good morning, Miss Diana," the butler returned equally pleasant.
"Oh, Alfred you didn't need to get her. I would have brought her down," the Amazon conveyed cordially.
"Nonsense," the older man dismissed. "I adore tending to Miss Elissa," he smiled with adoration.
"Is she eating the eggs?" the woman asked with curiosity. The last few times Elissa refused eggs. The mother tried not to take it personally as she was the one to have made the eggs those times. Leslie had told her it was fine to try Elissa on soft foods and well, it appeared Elissa favored Alfred's eggs than her own.
"This is her second helping," the man informed with pride as the two watched the little one consumed her breakfast with her hands.
"Really?" she stated with a wide smile. Inside she welled up with pride at how much her daughter was growing. "Is that right?" she uttered in a hushed tone, crouching next to her daughter's highchair. "Is this your second helping?"
Elissa stared at her mother blankly before getting a far-away look as she continued to eat.
Diana simply smiled, taking the fact her daughter just snubbed her in stride. "Okay," she nodded, she rose and went to get coffee. "Is Bruce awake?" she asked, pouring herself a cup.
"Not yet," Alfred responded, picking up some of Elissa's breakfast that had landed on the floor. "He's had a few busy nights reestablishing his presence in Gotham, Miss."
Since Batman's return, crime dropped significantly as the organized crime families lost much of their guns and a lot of their guys ended up in the hospital. With all his efforts poured into fighting crime, Bruce's nights were packed. Returning home exhausted and weary from the latest battle.
Diana was starting to get worried about him. Worried he would burn himself out and get hurt.
But Bruce continued regardless of her concerns.
The other drawback was that Elissa hadn't seen her father in quite some time. Thankfully, she was too young to notice his continued absence.
"Where are you off to?" the butler inquired curiously.
The dark-haired woman turned her head to face him, taking a sip of her coffee before answering. "Children's Hospital. I'm spending the day with some dying children."
"I thought I could make at least one day a little easier for them," she continued reflectively.
"Well, I'm sure they will have a wonderful time," he smiled assuredly.
"Thank you. And thank you for watching Elissa while I'm out. I wanted to tell you I appreciate all that you do here," she expressed earnestly, having tremendous respect for the butler and how his efforts have kept Bruce afloat for so many years.
The man merely nodded, uncertain on how to respond to her previous statement.
She quickly finished her coffee and grabbed a banana for a quick breakfast as she was starting to run late for the hospital.
"Okay," she started. Walking over to her daughter, "Now be a good girl for Alfred, okay?" She kissed her daughter's head before pulling back. "I should be home by dinner," she assured Alfred.
When he nodded in acknowledgement, she took off from the backyard. She flew high above Gotham City, the smell of the city hitting her senses as she glanced down at the people below. She gazed inquisitively at the people going about their lives, the sound of traffic thunderous in her ears.
Eventually, she arrived at the Children's Hospital, landing with grace. She noticed a few gawking pedestrians but ignored them as she had others that deserved her attention today. She entered past the automatic doors and stopped at the main desk where a nurse exclaimed upon noticing the Amazon.
"Wonder Woman!" the nurse exclaimed in excitement. Diana could only smile at the nurse's excited disposition.
Before the nurse could bombard the Amazon with questions, a doctor from the Children's ward appeared.
"Oh, Wonder Woman! Glad you could make it!"
"I wouldn't miss it, doctor," the raven-haired woman swore.
"The little ones have not been able to stop asking about you since I told them you were coming here," the doctor explained with a pleased smile. Silently glad that someone could alleviate the ills of these poor children if only for a few hours.
"Well, I'm glad they're as enthusiastic about my visit. Some prefer Superman. Or Batman," she joked as the two walked to the elevator.
The doctor shrugged, "Sure kids love Superman. And Batman for all his mystique. But who can argue with a warrior princess?" they proposed as they boarded the elevator.
"Beats me," Diana admitted never losing her smile. The doctor got a good chuckle from Diana as the elevator carried them to the children's ward.
When they arrived at the ward, Diana's heart sank as she saw all the sickly children. One deathly pale and scrawny.
"Guess who's here?" the doctor introduced with excitement in their voice.
Instantly, Diana was greeted with uproarious cheers from the children as most came to life, while others smiled at getting to me a superheroine.
"Hello," Diana greeted with a smile, waving her hand at them in greeting.
"It's Wonder Woman!"
"Awesome!"
Many that were able raced to her Diana greeted them at their level.
"Hello, you can call me Diana."
"I'm Jacob!"
"I'm Samantha!"
"I'm Jordan!"
Several more kids introduced themselves, some even telling the Amazon what was wrong with them.
"I have leukemia."
Diana's expression softened as she embraced the child in her arms providing some comfort to them.
Many more children gathered around the Amazon shooting off questions all at the same time.
"Why are your arms so big?"
"How fast can you fly?"
"Who wins in a fight Batman or Superman?"
The doctor and Diana both chuckled at the children's antics.
"Okay, okay," the doctor began, garnering the little ones' attention. "One at a time, please. Diana's here all day, so there's no reason to talk at the same time," they reasoned.
Diana chuckled as she saw understanding in the children's eyes. Her eyes noted a lone child, wheelchair-ridden, sitting in the corner alone.
Gently, she navigated past the huddle of kids around her to the lone one. She crouched down next to them and asked in soft voice, "My name is Diana. What's yours?"
The child appeared reluctant to answer, but the earnest smile of the woman's face made her cave. "Marissa," she answered meekly.
"Well, Marissa, why are you sitting in the corner alone?"
It was then the child began to tear up, "Because I'm dying," she wept. Instantly, the raven-haired woman embraced her tightly, offering her comfort and assurance even though they were naught.
Diana merely held Marissa as she cried, not once letting go of her. Her heart broke for such a young girl whose life was ending when it barely even began.
"Do you want to know something Marissa?"
Slowly, the girl reacted and pulled away, looking at Diana in the face through tear-stained eyes.
"You're braver than anyone in the Justice League," she told them confidently.
"Really?"
Nodding, "Really," she agreed. It seemed to help Marissa, but Diana wanted to help her more. She hated that it was beyond her power to help any of these children, but she swore to damn well try.
"Have you ever flown before, Marissa?" Diana asked gently.
"No," she answered.
"Would you like to?"
Instantly, Merissa as well as the other children, screamed in excitement. It was then Diana turned to the doctor, "May we go outside?" she inquired of the doctor to know if all the children could go outside the hospital.
"Yes," they confirmed.
The kids cheered boisterously as the group walked out of the hospital and stopped at the little park connected to the hospital.
"So," Diana began, taking a knee, she asked, "Who wants to go first?"
"ME!"
"ME!"
"ME!"
"ME!"
"ME!"
They volunteered in excitement at the prospect of flying with Wonder Woman.
Smiling, she held up her hands attempting to come them down. "Okay, okay. Settle down," she laughed at the exuberant children. "I promise everyone is getting a turn," she swore. "I'm here for the whole afternoon," she assured them. "So, do you all want to go in pairs or one at a time?" she questioned.
"I wanna go alone," one stated.
Another replied, "Same!"
Nodding, "Alright," she replied back. Standing up, she took the closest child and took off towards the sky. The exclamations of the children on the ground filled her ears faintly, the wind and the yelling of the child she carried cloaked the noise.
Diana smiled at the sheer joy the child felt for being so high up. She was delighted that she could help the dying child experience something pleasant.
"Having fun?" she inquired to the child as she did a barrel roll. Her smiled deepened when she heard the child yell in exuberance.
She laughed as she went higher and higher until she came to a stop and stared down to the city below.
"We're so high up!" the kid shouted, eyes wide and mouth agape.
With a knowing smirk, she dive-bombed down to the city below so suddenly the child tightened their grip around the Amazon.
Wind blasted their faces as her raven locks billowed all over the place. The ground came closer and closer into view and the child feared they were going to crash into the ground.
Suddenly, they came to an abrupt stop just above the other children. The children on the ground gaped at how fast they were coming down, while the child in the Amazon's arms shivered as the adrenaline was pumping through his heart. Suddenly, they were on the ground and Diana let them go. Slowly, she feared she went to far as she thought the children considered flying like going on a roller coaster with a little scare at the end.
Suddenly, her fears were drowned out as the child suddenly burst into laughter. "That. Was. Awesome!" they shouted and started recounting the flight.
Relief washed over her as the child enjoyed their flight.
"Okay," she announced, garnering the collective of kids' attention. "Who's next?"
True to her word, Diana spent the whole afternoon with them. She took them flying at least dozen times before they broke for lunch where Diana made conversation with all of them. Asking them questions and interested in what they had to say. When they asked her questions, she answered truthfully. But when they inquired upon something very personal, she merely smiled and told them that her 'lips were sealed', to their mutual griping.
When it was time for her to go, she promised to visit them again soon.
Wayne Manor
When she arrived home, she was weary, clearly expressed on her face. She took her tiara off and ran a hand through her hair. She plopped her tiara, gauntlets, and boots on the couch in the living room couch before she went in search of her child.
She needed to see Elissa. After seeing all those sick children made her desire to hold her own child and pray to whatever god that would answer her that Elissa would stay happy and healthy. She was uncertain if she could handle seeing her daughter go through what those children were going through. How those parents' must feel about their little ones being so close to Hades. How they were managing it she had no idea.
She came upon Elissa in the kitchen gnawing on a piece of bread, too engrossed in the bread to even acknowledge her mother.
Alfred greeted her with a smile, to which she gave him a half-hearted wave as she was too battered emotionally to speak to anyone that did not come out of her body.
Gently, she kneeled next to Elissa, who was in her highchair, eating her bread. Calmly, Diana laid her head on the tray, pressing into her face. She was merely content with watching her baby girl eat.
She stared at her daughter for what felt like hours, melancholy hit her, but she did not let Elissa see it. She wanted to be with her daughter.
"Mommy had a bad day," the Amazon spoke softly. "Did you have a good day?" she wondered, silently hoping Elissa answered her.
Finally, Elissa glanced at her mother, shoving another soft piece of bread into her mouth. As if sensing her mother's distress, she wordlessly offered a piece of her bread to her mouth to which provoked a smile out of the raven-haired woman.
Opening her mouth, Elissa pushed the bread into Diana, chewing it with a tiny smile as her daughter was such a sweet little thing.
"Thank you," she said as she watched Elissa continue to eat. Inwardly happy that her daughter was content and well.
Days later, Diana awoke to the smell of a hefty breakfast. The collection of eggs, bacon, waffles, and pancakes caused her stomach to rumble in hunger. But before she could even get out of bed, there was a knock on her door.
Sitting up, she responded to the knock, "Yes?"
In response, Bruce entered carrying a tray of all of Diana's favorite breakfast foods. Waffles, orange juice, coffee, and some fruit.
"Morning," he greeted.
"Morning," she returned with a smile as he set the tray in front of her. "What's this?" she wondered with a curious expression.
"Breakfast," he answered, his voice intoned with plainness.
She mentally rolled her eyes, "I know it's breakfast. But why are you giving me a surprise breakfast in bed?"
"Surprise?" he uttered in shock. "Diana… Don't you know what day it is?"
Tilting her head, the Amazon was uncertain as she struggled to recall the date.
"It's Mother's Day, Diana," the man informed her. "Happy Mother's Day," he told her, placing a kiss a top her head, in response she smiled again.
"Thank you, Bruce," she replied heartfully. She was deeply touched by the man making her breakfast. She herself had completely forgotten the holiday.
The last Mother's Day they all but ignored as they were all so preoccupied with the new baby and keeping to a schedule, not to mention work, they all merely forwent the holiday.
Alfred, however, did no such thing as he had given her flowers and made her a fabulous meal. Again, Diana had no idea what was happening until the butler told her the date.
"You can thank Alfred for the breakfast. All I did was pour the juice and get the fruit," he replied almost sheepishly.
"Well, I'll be sure to do that," she assured. She started to take a bite out of the fruit while Bruce stepped out.
He came back a few moments later with a little passenger in tow.
"Hi!" Diana exclaimed softly as she saw her baby girl come into her bedroom carried by her father. Instantly, Elissa smiled widely, squealing at the sight of her mother. Bruce handed her off to the Amazon, who sat her on her lap.
"Did you have a good night?" she kissed her daughter's head. Her daughter already playing with her mother's hair. Diana brushed Elissa dark curls away from her eyes.
"Hey," Bruce called to Elissa softly. He had to say it a few times to get the little girl's attention. "Give your mother this," he handed Elissa a red and pink piece of construction paper.
Cooing, the infant handed it to Diana, who accepted it.
"What's this?"
Inspecting it, she found it to a be a folded piece of construction paper with the words, 'Happy Mother's Day'.
She opened it to see a big red heart drawn in the middle of a page. Inscribed were the words, 'Happy Mother's Day, Love Elissa'.
The sight made the Amazon's eyes water, her heart wrenching in pure joy at the card.
"Thank you so much, my love," she spoke to her earnestly. She peppered Elissa's face with kisses, provoking her to erupting into a fit of giggles.
When she ceased her kisses, the raven-haired woman looked at the card again and noticed a red diagonal line at the left corner of the card. "What happened here?" she asked Bruce curiously.
"I got distracted when we were making the card. Elissa wanted to keep drawing," he explained.
"Well, we will have plenty of time to draw and color, won't we, my love?" she directed gaze to her daughter, who was engrossed with Diana's waffles. "Hungry?"
In response, Elissa tugged off a piece of the waffle and shoved it into her mouth quickly.
"Greedy little one, aren't you?" Diana teased. "I'll give you some," she told her, pulling a piece of the waffle, and giving to her daughter to nibble on.
The billionaire watched from his afar as Diana ate with Elissa. Chatting idly as Elissa contented herself with the waffle, seemingly oblivious to her mother's words.
He left her alone to eat and spend time with Elissa as he had to hurry to get her gifts ready.
The Amazon had thought she would spend the day with her family celebrating the holiday, unfortunately, you can not always get what you want.
Wonder Woman had gotten called in by the League. Something about an alien with powers that rivaled Superman was on its way to Earth to settle a grudge with the kryptonian. Given the severity of the situation all the heavy hitters were called in. She was no exception.
The battle lasted hours with the League proving victorious. Unfortunately, the clean up took a long time. She did not even return home until late at night. Just after dinner, she prayed that Elissa was still up so she could at least say goodnight to her. She wanted to end her day on a pleasant note and being with Elissa was the best one.
She made a beeline for her room, quickly stripping herself of her armor and hopped into the shower, washing away all the grime and blood from the battle. She sighed pleasantly, as the hot water did wonders for her aching sore muscles.
She finished her shower and dried off. She dressed herself in shorts and a t-shirt. While she was dressing, she noticed something out of the corner of her eye. A long red box wrapped in a bow. She checked the card and found out it was from Damian.
Thought you would appreciate it more than me.
Happy Mother's Day, Damian
With peaked curiosity, she opened it and discovered it was an antique sword authenticated to be from Ancient Greece.
She felt immense gratitude for the young Wayne. Greatly pleased to witness that he was trying to have a civil relationship with her, and he even gave her a Mother's Day gift.
She swore to thank him in person the next time her saw him.
When she left her bedroom, she found Bruce carrying a pajama clad Elissa heading for the little one's bedroom.
"I was wondering if you were ever going to make it to your dinner?" Bruce asked in a mild teasing manner.
"Oh, I hope Alfred didn't go to too much trouble," the Amazon expressed with regret. She did not want the man to go overboard when she might not even be able to attend her dinner.
"Try telling him that," he countered with a knowing look. Wordlessly, he handed his daughter off to her mother.
"Hi, little one," the Amazon greeted with a smile. She inhaled the scent from Elissa's hair, fresh from a bath. "Oh, you smell so good!" she cooed.
"Were you putting her to bed?" she sounded apprehensive as she had just arrived home and she wanted to spend some time with her baby before the day was over.
"I was," he nodded. "But I think she can stay up a little longer. It is a special occasion," he told her with a knowing smile.
"Thank you," she said gratefully. "Now, young lady, I want to hear all about your day."
Elissa, who was playing with her mother's wet hair, glanced at her when she noticed her mother was speaking to her.
No one expected her to say what she would say, but it made them surge with pride and joy when she did.
"Ma…" the little girl said. "…Ma… Ma."
The pair froze at a loss for words at what had just left their daughter's mouth.
"Did you… Did you just say what I think you said?" Diana hopefully asked her child.
Elissa smiled brightly, drool all over her chin.
"Say it again, sweetie. Say it again," Diana pleaded hopefully, tears in her eyes.
Without missing a beat, Elissa complied. "Ma… ma."
It was close enough of for the mother. Elissa called her mama. That was a step.
"Yes, baby, I'm your mama," she pressed kisses to her little girl's face, who giggled and shoved her mother away with her hands.
Bruce's heart skipped a beat when he heard Elissa call Diana 'mama', inwardly he was a little jealous. But Diana deserved it, especially on Mother's Day.
Eventually, they traveled down to the dining room where her dinner resided underneath a dome plate which kept the food warm.
When the Amazon saw the dinner table she chuckled as she saw her many gifts from her boyfriend litter the chair next to hers and on the table. Alfred no doubt voiced his disapproval but didn't carry anything out.
Sheepishly, the man rubbed the back of his head. "I guess I got a little carried away with the gifts," he conceded.
"A little," the woman laughed. She pecked his cheek in gratitude. "Thank you."
"You're welcome," he replied back.
"So, what did you get me?" she wondered aloud.
"You're supposed to open them," he told her.
"Yes, but I want you to tell me," she reasoned, taking a seat with Elissa in her lap. The child busied herself with her mother's hair. Intensely intrigued by the ebony locks.
He sat down next to her on her left, with a sigh, he responded. "Just a few dresses, shoes, jewelry," he elaborated. "I honestly didn't know what you wanted the most. I think flowers are around here somewhere," he glanced around. He had forgotten where he left them.
"Well, thank you, Bruce," she laughed. "I appreciate the lengths you went for me," she told him earnestly. She was deeply touched by his efforts.
"You're welcome."
A thought suddenly struck him. "Oh! I almost forgot," he announced, before leaving the table and then the room. Diana had given him an inquisitive look before she shared it with Elissa, who was gnawing on her hair.
"No, no, no," she gently chastised. "We do not eat hair," she told her daughter, who stared at her with big blue innocent eyes. To emphasize her stance, she tapped her little girl's nose, which provoked a laugh from the little one.
Suddenly struck with hunger, the woman lifted the dome off her plate and had a look of delight in her eyes as Alfred had made one of her favorite foods.
She greedily took bites out of it, while Elissa played with a spoon, examining it before she banged it onto the table. The first two bangs caused her mother to take hold of the spoon and her little hand, ending the noise.
Elissa didn't like her restraint and started to fidget. But her mother had a much stronger grip and did not relinquish her hold.
She noticed Bruce return out of the corner of her eye carrying a laptop.
He silently took a seat and began starting up the laptop.
"Bruce, what are you—"
"Hold on. Let me just bring it up," he interjected.
She patiently waited for him and finished eating her dinner, with Elissa now the proud owner of the spoon as Diana tried to see if Elissa learned her lesson.
Soon the billionaire had finished bringing up what he wanted. He shifted the laptop so the woman could see and pressed play.
A curious Diana examined the video that played, and what she watched made her heart soar.
It was a slideshow of Elissa and her family since the day she was born.
"Bruce…" she uttered at a loss for words by what he had down.
She saw her daughter as a newborn. At her first Thanksgiving, which she slept through. The same as Christmas. Her first birthday party. When she started to crawl and everything from that day since.
How Bruce managed to gather all the photos and videos, she had no idea. She faintly recalled they had almost a thousand such images of their daughter.
"I thought you would like this as a gift. I know it's not really a gift as I just coupled all the videos and photos we had of her and us," he explained. He almost sounded as if he could have done more for her.
To Diana, he could not have gotten her a better gift.
Tears welling in her eyes, she was deeply moved by his efforts. Leaning forward, she kissed him tenderly.
"Thank you," she murmured against his lips when they pulled back.
"You're welcome," he uttered, as that kiss made him lose sense of himself for a bit.
After an exhausting day, Diana was grateful to end it on a high note. She had a nice dinner with her family and opened her gifts with a little help from Elissa. She was definitely a curious baby. She had discovered that Alfred had gotten her rare flowers from the Mediterranean.
She would have to thank him personally when she saw him tomorrow.
She had the pleasure of putting her daughter to bed. Unfortunately, she was a little fuzzy going down as she was allowed to stay up past her bedtime. They were going to regret that tomorrow.
She tried to take her gifts to her room, only for Bruce to stop her. An unreadable expression on his face. Diana rose a curious eyebrow before he silently urged her forward to her bedroom and shut the door.
As soon as the door shut, she found his lips on hers. At first, she was surprised, but swiftly returned it with equal passion.
Hands tore at her clothes, fingers ran through her hair, tongues tangling with one another. To their displeasure the need for air forced them apart.
"W-What are you doing?" she asked breathlessly, her head still spinning from the kiss.
"Giving you your last gift," he answered with a smirk.
"Oh," she blushed at the statement as her lower regions smoldered from the look in his eyes.
Gently, he pushed her onto her bed, removing his shirt before joining her.
She basically purred when she saw his bare chest. Following his lead, she took off her shirt and flung it away, her chest bare to him.
Bruce's eyes widened at the sight of her, like always. She was a work of art to him. Breathtakingly beautiful. His mouth wet dry at the sight of her.
She was leaning back on her hands, her body swayed side to side. She held a pleasant smile on her face, teasingly biting her lower lip as she awaited what was to happen next.
"What's next, Bruce?" she encouraged him, giving a subtle reminder to come back to the living as he was frozen in place as he stared at her body.
"Oh," he stuttered as he was embarrassed. Getting back to giving his girlfriend her last gift, he kissed her passionately. Her hands instinctively grabbed the back of his head, a moan escaping her as the kiss sent jolts of electricity straight to her toes and back up again.
She found herself on her back, his lips leaving hers and leaving a trail of sensual wet kisses in their wake.
She cooed as he kissed along her cheek before making to her ear, biting the shell lightly before returning to her cheek. She tried to reach for him, only for him to deny her by grabbing her wrist and slamming the appendage down back onto the bed.
He sank his teeth into her neck, sucking the soft flesh. He used just enough pressure to leave a mark on her durable flesh. Her moans were sweet music to him as he pressed on. He slathered kisses between the valley of breasts, then offered each breast significant amount of affection that made her squeal. His hands never stopped tracing her body as he made his way down to her abdomen.
His tongue dragged upwards from the bottom of her stomach passed her belly button to her sternum. More wet kisses trailed down again, he heard her head toss from side to side as her eyes fluttered.
His hands clutched her thighs tightly knowing she could take it. He pulled the limbs up until legs were half bent, her feet firmly planted onto her comforter.
His fingers lightly brushed along her skin, goosebumps forming, her breath hitched in her throat. He noticed her eyes were intently planted on him, panting as she desired to see him continue.
His fingers dug under her waistband on her pants and without warning he tugged them off her, her underwear going along for the ride, sliding down her perfect legs, and left abandoned on the floor.
"Oh!" she quickly silenced herself as Bruce's tongue went to work on her loins. Nibbles and kisses before his tongue went to meticulous work on her.
Her legs tensed as her eyes rolled in the back of her head. She quickly grabbed a pillow and pressed it onto her face as she released a muffled scream into it.
Her body tensed as Bruce devoured her femininity. Pupils dilated as she felt him shove his wonderous tongue inside her and just completely went to down on her.
Biting her lip, her hand snaked down to grab the back of his head. Her fingers tightly gripped his hair, she emphatically offered encouragement when she forced him back to her when she felt his lips leave and kiss her inner thighs.
He didn't complain and went right back to it.
Her legs wrapped around his shoulders, her back bent like a bow as his continued ministrations lead to a spectacular orgasm that she needed to stifle with a pillow.
Even with the pillow her scream was loud and high-pitched.
Slowly, she moved the pillow off her revealing her panting form. Her face and chest flushed, her body all tingly from climax.
Nothing but their panting was heard. Her brain was barely functioning, so much so that she barely registered Bruce moving over and lying next to her.
"Heroes do do that," he said smugly to himself.
"What?" the Amazon expressed with a look of confusion.
"Nothing. It's stupid."
When she regained her breath, she turned to him on her side, nestling into him. "Mmm, now that was a great gift," she moaned, deeply pleased.
"I'm here to please," he said with a smirk.
"And you most definitely pleased," she replied contently.
His arm wrapped around the raven-haired woman, to which she buried herself into his neck contently.
Both enjoying the silence as they regained their composure.
"Happy Mother's Day, Diana." He said it with such tenderness that was unheard of from him.
"Thank you," she kissed his cheek in gratitude and soon fell asleep.
NEXT: Father's Day
I am really behind on the holiday portions of this fic but I wanted to get it out there. Yes, I went there with the Snu Snu. I saw on image of Batman on WW's shoulder inquiring about Snu Snu and I thought why the hell not? And I know I am late on the whole BM and CW fiasco that broke the internet. I honestly could not stop laughing when I read the article.
Thanks for all the reviews, favs and follows! Please continue to do so!
