This is the end of Volume 6 guys!

I still have more Volumes to go and I really am happy for this achievement.

I really thank Specter, Nitro, and my friend Mel to give my story some new fellows for me to add.

While I haven't shown much for Randy, Nomad, and Mel, these three are still the binding in my story. Without the first two, I would have to use teams from the other Lockes that I have accomplished or with just Vic and Mel. I really love their help and I hope that they could help me with my future stories.

Chapter:49 The Silver Lining

Nighttime at a forest clearing. A Mistral airship can be seen landing. The doors open, revealing its occupant as Neo, who drops her disguise and is revealed to be wearing her clothes. She looks to see someone step out of the forest, revealed to be Roman and Cinder with the latter sporting some new clothes:

Cinder wears a new left eyepatch that has straps that run both above and below her right eye. She sports a black tank top and shorts that are mostly covered with a black shoulder cape worn over her left arm, all of them having gold trimmings. Her blue feather accessory is over the right side of her chest. She also has a black and gold band over white bandages, a black band on her right wrist, a glove over her left arm, covering her Shadow Hand, black knee-high laced heeled boots and she also retains her two earrings from her previous attire.

Cinder stops to inspect the airship.

"It should get us to Solitas. After that, you two might want to try materializing yourself some snow boots," Cinder said as she continued walking.

"We don't have to do that boss," Roman said as he faced Neo. "Do it."

She steps out of the airship and holds her hand out, and Cinder stops walking and has an irritated look on her face. Neo then places her hand on the airship and uses her Semblance to transform it into an Atlesian Manta aircraft. Cinder smiles at this. She then retracts the disguise and snaps her fingers with a smirk on her face.

"You know, Roman, someone once asked me if I believed in destiny," Cinder said as the three entered the airship. "And I'm happy to say I still do."

Cinder smiled evilly while the two thieves look at each other with worry as the door closed.

Back in Argus, multiple Manta aircraft engage in dogfights against Manticores and Sphinxs above the ocean. The Leviathan itself slowly trudges through the water approaching the city. Some aircraft fly by for a gun run on the towering Grimm. The Leviathan, however, simply dives below the ocean and swims.

"All units, be advised: Leviathan-class Grimm has submerged but is still on approach. Preparing hard-light shields, over!"

The Pokémons residing near Argus then came out to help, but the aquatic Pokémons couldn't help with the Leviathan's sheer size.

Elsewhere, Ruby and her friends overhear the radio chatter with looks of horror on their faces. Cordovin continues to struggle to get the Colossus' arm cannon out of the water with it being covered in ice and rock Dust.

"We're getting slammed by hostiles out here! Even the help we got couldn't handle the Leviathan! Where is Cordovin?!" Manta 2-2 said.

Cordovin then look at the gang in anger and shouted, "This is your fault! Do you hear me?!"

"Ruby!"

Yang, Blake, and David can be seen running out of the forest to rejoin the group.

"Guys! Are you okay?" Ruby asked in worry as the three noticed the disarmed mech.

"What happened?" Blake asked till the group heard the Leviathan roaring.

"Was that a giant Grimm?" Yang questioned.

"Yes... and we just ruined the only thing capable of stopping it..." Weiss said.

"Well crap," David said.

The group wastes no time boarding the aircraft. It begins to fly away. Ruby watches with pity as Cordovin continues to struggle to move the mech. Cordovin herself yells out in anger.

"This is your fault!! YOUR FAULT!!! This is..." Cordovin then just gave up as she knew she failed what she was supposed to do.

"Ma'am, what's your status? We need an answer, over!" A soldier said through the radio.

"... your fault..."

"I'm so sorry..." Blake apologized.

"Don't be. This isn't on you," Yang said.

"But-"

"You're safe, that's all that matters," Ruby said.

Blake smiles at her leader and the two hug. Ruby looks to Yang and the two share a smile.

"Ow!" The three then look to see David getting hit on the head by Charles with his gauntlet.

"What was that for?!" David said in pain.

"You had one job!" Charles scolded him.

"Blame the dead guy being eaten by the fishes!" But this got him hit on the head again.

"No excuses!"

Randy then look at Blake and said, " So you finally move on?"

Blake hesitantly and he smiled for her.

"I suppose I have to be the bad guy and say it, getting the lamp to Atlas is still our top priority, and right now we have the perfect opportunity to head straight for it. We may not get another chance like this," Maria said.

"No way!" Yang quickly refused

"We can't leave, not like this.," Weiss said.

"It's like you said, a Huntress is supposed to protect others to the bitter end," Blake said as Maria looks to Ruby, who just shrugs and smiles. Maria smiles back and continues to fly.

"We need to head for the Leviathan. Jaune, can you and Ren be ready to mask our ship?" Ruby asked.

"I think we can manage," Ren said.

"Got a few ideas?" Jaune asked Ruby.

"I've got one."

"Eyes up, everybody. It's back," Qrow said.

The Leviathan swims for a bit before resurfacing above the water, letting out a terrifying roar.

"Argus Base, this is Manta 3-4! Leviathan has hit the shallows and resurfaced! We need those shields up now, over!"

From the city, a large crowd gathers as they look out to the ocean with concern. Terra is seen making her way through the crowd, eventually reuniting with her wife Saphron and their son Adrian, before looking out to the ocean again in concern. As the Leviathan approaches Argus, a hard-light Dust barrier is erected, halting its progress.

"Target stopped! Engaging, over!" Manta 2-1 ordered as a pair of Manta aircraft are seen firing shots at the Leviathan with the resident Pokémons giving their all to hit it. Suddenly, the Leviathan unleashes an energy beam attack from its mouth. It shifts the beam over to one of the poles powering the hard-light Dust barrier, destroying it. The Leviathan roars.

Ruby and her friends watch in horror from their aircraft.

"It tore straight through...!" Oscar muttered in shock.

"All squadrons, fall back to evacuation procedures. Disengage Leviathan! I repeat, disengage! Over!" Air Control ordered.

"No, wait!" Ruby shouted as she ran for the radio.

"Ruby!" Qrow shouted to her niece to stop.

"We can stop it!" Ruby said through the radio.

"Who is this? Identify yourself!" Air Control ordered.

"I'm a Huntress. My team and I are heading to the Leviathan and can weaken it for you to attack!" Ruby said as everyone look at her in shock.

"We can?" Jaune asked.

"I can," Ruby corrected.

"Ruby, when I said "trial by fire"--"

"I did it at Beacon and at the farm," Ruby cuts Maria off.

"You really think you can do it now?" Weiss asked.

"I don't have a choice."

"Manta 5-1, your ship is currently flagged as hostile. You will receive no support, over."

Ruby pick up the radio and said, "Fine, we'll do it alone if we have to."

From her mech, Cordovin overhears Ruby's radio chatter as the screen of her mech suddenly turn on.

She looks at and saw something move on screen.

It's a rounded, pink, digital creature that shows similarities to a drinking bird. It has a relatively flat bill and large, round eyes. Its legs are simple ovoid growths along its sides, and its tail widens towards the middle. Its bill, legs, tail, and underside are blue.

It gave her an eye smile as it gave her a happy noise.

Cordovin laugh at the irony since she knew who this was and said, "Maybe that boy was right... sometimes."

The creature then twirled in the screen, waiting for a command.

"Fine... Get me out of this situation," Cordovin ordered as the creature let out some beeps and disappeared from her screen.

"We can hit it while it's stopped at the next barrier. Ren, you're up!" Ruby ordered as Ren and Jaune proceed to combine their Semblances, masking the airship as it weaves between the air battles between Grimm and Atlas forces. The Leviathan makes its way to the next barrier and charges its energy breath again.

"We're too late! Pull up!" Qrow said as the Manta aircraft pulls up out of the way as the Leviathan fires its breath, destroying the next barrier and toppling a cupola off one of the buildings in Argus. Ren and Jaune collapse as their Auras are drained.

"Damn...!" Jaune said in frustration.

"That's all I've got!" Ren said.

"It's on the move again! We need to stop it!" Blake alarmed everyone.

"That thing just not stop," Randy said.

"What do we do?" Yang said in worry.

Ruby thinks for a moment, before to looking to Weiss, Nora, and Pyrrha.

The Leviathan continues to approach Argus, but suddenly, the aircraft carrying Ruby's group opens up its hatch doors.

"Fire!"

Nomad, Randy, and Yang fired their respective weapons while Mel fired a concentrated sound blast, and the Pokémons helping them to attack.

"Is it working?" Blake asked.

"Unfortunately, yes! Hang on!" Maria said as she tried to outmanuever the attacking Grimms.

Blake runs over to Weiss, who is maintaining a Glyph she activated.

Ruby is seen riding on the back of Weiss' Queen Lancer summoning while Nora and Pyrrha flew beside her with Bacchus the Crobat and Wing the Unfezant as their rides respectively.

"I am the storm!" Nora yelled out a battle cry as she smashes any Grimms that is getting close with blue electricity while Pyrrha shoots them down.

"Okay, okay, you can do this... You have to do this!" Ruby said to herself.

Eventually, Ruby stops in front of the Leviathan. She closes her eyes and begins to concentrate, the noises all around her slowly muting out.

"Ruby? Ruby, hurry, something--"

Ruby takes out her earpiece and tosses it into the water below. She closes her eyes again to concentrate. As she concentrates, Ruby thinks back on various memories:

Her family, the time Zwei first arrived in her team's room, the food fight they had, and their time eating at Simple Wok after their victory in the tournament.

She would then think of JNPR, Penny, and Vic...

But then she frowns when the bad memories came in when she saw her friends in worst condition after the Fall, the destruction of where some of her good memories were made, and the depressed state of her sister after the lost of her arm.

Then she whimpers when she remembered the horrifying gaze of Salem that made her shake in fear, the feeling of helplessness she felt when she saw those blood red eyes and the fear of having her friends die because of her.

Suddenly, Ruby opens her eyes again and notices the Leviathan standing face to face with her.

"What?" Ruby numbly said.

"Why'd it turn away?!" Yang said in confusion.

Ruby then remembers she has the Relic of Knowledge on her belt, which caused the Leviathan to have its attention on her.

"No, no, no, no!!" Ruby said in horror as the Leviathan suddenly opens its maw and lunges toward Ruby... Ruby reeled back in fear. "J-JINN!!!"

Suddenly, time stops. Everything slows down and freezes, even when Nora and Pyrrha flew to her direction and Yang who calls out her sister's name.

"Ruby!"

Ruby then breathes a sigh of relief as she hears the rattling chains of Jinn.

"I'm sorry... I don't have a question for you. I just... I just needed a little more time..." Ruby said as she looks to Jinn, who has a stern look on her face.

"I know... and while you don't seek knowledge, just this once, I shall give it freely. I will not allow you to use me without a question again..." Jinn warned her as the spirit then smiled. "Even if this was clever."

Ruby nods at Jinn. She then turns to face the Leviathan again and closes her eyes to concentrate once more. Time slowly starts to go back to normal.

She then remembered the time she and her team decorated their dorm room, when Weiss gave her coffee, when Blake cheered for Weiss during Prof. Ports class, when Yang trains before leaving for Beacon, and when they celebrated saving Vale.

She then smiled as she thought of the Dance and Team JNPR again, the time Qrow arrived in Beacon, her talk with Oscar, then her talk with Maria, and Vic and Penny...

And finally, Ruby thinks back to her mother, her white cloak blowing in the wind as she overlooks a cliff watching a sunset. She then turns around, offering a warm smile. Her own Silver Eyes reflect back to her daughter's as Ruby remembered a certain memory during her childhood with her mother.

"Mommy, can you tell me a story?" A young Ruby said as she was on her bed and her mother by the foot of her bed.

Summer giggles and said, "How about I tell you the tale of The Doe, the Raven, and the Serpent?"

"What is it about?" Ruby asked in curiosity.

"It's a Faunus story about three different Faunus that they saw as divine beings. The Doe who gave life to the world while the Raven takes it, but the Serpent keeps the balance of both sides.

A long time ago, the Doe would always give new life to everything and cherished them while the Raven would take every living thing till the right time while the cycle of life continues.

Then people began to use them for their personal needs that always results of the two being captured for their powers. The Serpent then appeared to save the two from their confines.

The Raven and Serpent would despise humanity for trying to control life, but the Doe would still love them and always protect humanity from the Grimms."

"Why did the Doe do it?" Ruby asked as Summer smiled.

"Because she cherished life so much that she also cherished the people, she wouldn't hate them because of what they did before but what they would do tomorrow."

"I wish I could be like the Doe," Ruby said as Summer touched her daughter's hair.

"Why is that?"

"I want to be friends with everyone, even if they don't like me," Summer giggled as she brought Ruby's blanket on her daughter's body.

"Maybe you already are my little Rose."

Ruby's eyes then shone bright with a white hue but a blue color was added, her eyes shones brighter and brighter till a masive wall of white and blue light engulfs the area, turning the Leviathan to stone. The citizens of Argus and the Atlas military cheer as the Grimm threat has been nullified. Ruby's friends give proud smiles and Maria breathes a sigh of relief.

The light retracts back into Ruby's eyes, and she turns around to look at the city of Argus still standing. Suddenly, Ruby hears a stone crackling behind her. The Leviathan's head manages to move and tries to aim at Ruby.

"No."

"I'll take it from here!!" Suddenly, Cordovin shows up in the Colossus, its arm cannon now detached. Everyone looks in shock. Without the weight of the cannon, the Colossus begins to run toward the semi-petrified Leviathan.

Cordovin smiled and said, "After all, I was sworn to protect the people!"

The digital creature then appeared on her screen as it gave a few beeps.

"Oh you know what I mean."

The Colossus' left hand then transforms into a giant drill. Cordovin uses the drill to destroy the Leviathan, causing it to dissipate. The people of Argus cheer while the Arc family looks on with stupefied expressions.

The Colossus then walks over to Ruby. Its cockpit opens up revealing Cordovin herself standing in a stern military manner while the creature disappeared on the screen.

"Thank you. And... I'm sorry," Ruby apologized.

"The Atlas military can handle the stragglers," Cordovin said.

"What, uh... What are you saying?" Ruby questioned as Cordovin smiled.

"I'm saying I don't think anyone would notice if one more ship went missing in my lengthy report," She said as Ruby smiles back at Cordovin, who then turns the mech around and runs off to join her men in taking down the remaining Grimm along with the native Pokémons.

Nora and Pyrrha then arrived on their respective ride Pokémons as they float just further away from Ruby.

"Need a lift?" Pyrrha asked.

"Maybe," Ruby said sheepishly.

"Say... what happen to your eyes?" Nora asked as Pyrrha looked closer.

"Wait what?" Ruby said in confusion till Pyrrha used her shield as a mirror and the young redhead was shock when she look at her reflection.

Her silver eyes now gains blue X shaped pupils that sparkles like a star, even in daylight.

What in the Gods name just happened?!

The airship Ruby and her friends are in flies through the night sky as the four trainers returned their Pokémons back to their Pokéballs.

They were shock to see the change on Ruby's eyes and were confused by this, even Maria was more confused, but they must focus on the task in hand.

"We should have just enough fuel to make it," Maria said.

"Thanks, Miss Calavera," Ruby said in appreciation.

"Hey, Ruby. You did great out there today, kid. Just don't go giving me heart attacks like that again," Qrow said as he was about to take a drink from his flask, but ultimately decides not to. Ruby hugs her uncle.

"I love you, too," Ruby said as the drunkard smiles at his niece as she walks away to join her friends.

"You weren't half bad yourself today, Qrow," Maria said to Qrow as he smiled before sighing.

"I feel like they did all the heavy lifting," Qrow said.

"But you were there to help when they asked for it, and you were there to catch them when they fell. Literally, if I recall."

"Thanks. You know, it was pretty incredible getting to see the Grimm Reaper in action."

"Ha, you should have seen me when I was your age!"

Qrow smiles as the two of them look out the cockpit's window to the night sky.

In the back of the aircraft, Weiss, Blake and Yang sit together while Mel, Nomad, and Randy sat a little further away from them.

"I'm sorry you went through that nightmare. But, I'm glad Yang was there for you in time," Weiss said as Blake and Yang smile before the latter takes the cat Faunus' hand.

"We were there for each other," Yang said.

"Took the words right out of my mouth," Nora said as everyone look at Ruby.

"Hey, stop it!"

"You petrified a Leviathan... after diving down the barrel of a cannon!" Ren said as Ruby laughs.

"Don't act like you all haven't done crazy stuff before! I mean, Oscar made a successful crash landing! He's a fourteen-year-old farm hand!"

"That was seriously impressive," Jaune complimented.

"No kidding, that was awesome," Mel said with a smile.

"We'd have been stranded without you," Blake said.

"I... thanks, but... I've been meaning to tell you guys... I didn't land the ship on my own," Oscar admitted as he remembered how it happened.

"We're gonna crash! We're gonna CRASH!!" Oscar screamed when he the ship is about to crash while U. Pichu held on for dear life.

"Stay calm, it's going to be okay."

That was Ozpin's voice so he began to calm down and followed his voice.

"Ozpin took control?!" Nora said in shock.

"Did he do anything wrong?" Nomad asked warily.

"No, he guided me... And then he was gone again..." Oscar said.

"Does that mean he's been watching us this whole time?" Yang said questioningly.

"I don't know, but... it at least means he was looking out for us."

Everyone ponders this revelation before Qrow speaks up, "Hey, if you've never seen Atlas in person before, you don't wanna miss this."

Ruby and her friends walk up to the cockpit window.

"Is it weird that I'm sorta nervous?" Ruby said.

"No, I'll believe we've made it to Atlas when I see it," Yang said.

"I'm just gonna tell you that it's beautiful," Mel said.

"I might take your word in it," Randy said.

"Well... believe it," Weiss said as the airship comes out of the clouds, and the floating city of Atlas is seen coming into view.

"Wow," Nora said in awe.

"It is really amazing," Nomad said.

"You know, you make the trip up to Atlas over and over, but you never get used to that view," Maria said till her prosthetic eyes start to act up again. "Oh, come on!"

Weiss leans forward and has a nervous look on her face. Ruby notices this.

"Weiss, what is it?" Ruby asked.

Everyone looks up, and notice above the city of Atlas many Atlas Airships.

"The Atlas air fleet... I knew all of our ships were called back, but..." Weiss muttered.

"They're set up like they're expecting an attack..." Qrow said.

Suddenly, the radio turns on.

"Manta 5-1, welcome home..."

In the Land of Darkness, Mercury is seen looking out the window in the meeting room. Emerald then walks in.

"Mercury, I wanted to..."

Suddenly, she notices Mercury's face has an expression of horror as he looks out the window. Emerald looks to where he's looking.

"What is she doing?" Emerald said questioningly.

A Beringel is seen crawling out of one of the black, tar-like pits, with Salem herself standing close by. She then uses her magic as Nevermore wings suddenly sprout from the back of the Beringel. The Beringel gets used to its new appendages, before flying up to join many other Beringels also grafted with wings. Emerald and Mercury continue to watch in horror while muffled whimpering were heard across the castle.

"There's an old saying."

The two notice Hazel enter the room and stand next to them.

"If you want something done right... do it yourself."

Salem looks up to the army of Grimm she has gathered, before turning around and using her magic on the black pools again.

War is coming.

And that is it for Volume 6!!

Yeah the flashback I made really sucked but it did its needed purpose, but enough of that!

I am just shaking in excitement when I reached this far and I am happy that I can go further.

I am still nervous that I would have to wait for the upcoming Volumes to come because I am working in advance and I don't want to miss my chances. I know that I keep saying this, but I am confident that it would come soon this year or the next... maybe.

Anyways, Volume 7 will be next and I am shaking in excitement because of Vic appearing again for a long time. I have asked Nitro and Specter for their OC's Volume 7 look while I made mine and Mel's since my bestfriend and I don't really talk that much since we never leave our homes before the pandemic even started.

And next chapter will be the Epilogue of Tale of Two Champions as I am gonna finish it.
