It was the day after Zane defeated Malek, and freed Kevin, and Kevin was waking up. Everyone was in the infirmary.
"Kevin?" Jaden asked nervously.
"Morning already." Kevin sat up rubbing his head.
"Yeah, are you ok?" Alexis asked him.
"Yeah, Lex." Kevin answered.
"So... does anybody want to fill me in? Just who is this?" Chazz questioned.
"My older brother, and is otherwise known as Kevin Striker." Jaden answered.
Bastion's eyes widened in shock. "You're serious aren't you?"
"No way, there's no way a Slifer Slacker like you could be related to such a famous duelist. It's just not possible." Chazz argued.
"Actually he's right." Zane smiled.
Alexis smiled. "Exactly, I remember when Jaden got to Duel Academy."
"You two know him?" Chumley asked hearing that.
"You could say that, the four of us were actually friends for a long time." Zane answered before shaking his head.
"I guess I owe everyone a story huh?" Kevin asked chuckling.
"Probably, and actually we should fill you in on what's been happening here." Alexis admitted.
"Yeah since I got mixed up with Malek." Kevin admitted.
"It's alright, so how should we start?" Zane inquired.
"With what happened since I was missing." Kevin answered.
"Right, well I guess the place to start would be Jaden almost not getting into Duel Academy because he was late to the entrance exams." Alexis mentioned.
That made Kevin look over to his brother.
"I made it in." Jaden said only for his eyes to widen. "Plus I met the King of Games himself Kevin."
"You did?" Kevin asked.
"Yeah, I bumped into him on my way to the entrance exams." Jaden answered taking out his deck and handing it to Kevin. "He actually gave me my Winged Kuriboh card."
Kevin looked in seeing the card as he smiled, "Just like my Kuribohrn."
Jaden smiled. "Yeah, actually I got to duel Dr. Crowler to get in."
"He did use his own personal deck during the test though." Alexis recalled.
"Boy Doc C is a tough duelist." Kevin recalled, "Three of those Gear Golems."
"Three?" Jaden asked. "He only used one against me."
"You would have been proud of him, it wasn't the best duel but he was smart." Zane mentioned.
Flashback...
"And now I sacrifice my Wicked Tokens, and summon the Ancient Gear Golem!" Dr. Crowler called as a rusty hollow Golem appeared, "Now now, I hope you aren't too scared against my legendary Ancient Gear Golem."
"If it were someone else they might be." Alexis mentioned with a smile. "What do you think Zane, are we going to see that combo?"
"That depends Alexis." Zane answered, "I am more interested if Jaden follows in Kevin's footsteps in Fusion Power."
"And now Gear Golem attack! Mechanized Melee!" Dr. Crowler called as the golem punched.
"Avian!" Jaden cried as his monster was destroyed.

Dr. Crowler laughed at this, "Don't feel bad this is the top Dueling School in the Country, some people aren't certainly cut out for-"
Suddenly Jaden started laughing.
"Hm?" Dr. Crowler listened wondering what he's laughing about.
"Wow teach, you're amazing." Jaden grinned. "Now I have to get into Duel Academy."
Dr. Crowler looked shocked as he growled, 'Can't he take a hint? He will NOT pass this Entrance Exam, and he certainly won't be permitted to make a mockery of MY deck!'
Jaden took that as his end phase.
Jaden smiled drawing his card. 'Huh, hey pal.' "I summon Winged Kuriboh in defense mode and play one card facedown."
Dr. Crolwer laughed as he drew calling, "Ancient Gear Golem! Attack that Kuriboh with Mechanized Melee!"
The Gear Golem punched again as the monster shattered as Jaden grunted, 'Sorry Winged Kuriboh...'
Dr. Crowler, and the others noticed something off, as he said, "Check your gear your Life Points haven't changed."
"Now that I think about it, shouldn't you have actually lost that duel Jaden?" Alexis asked him.
"I read the card, and how it works." Jaden told her handing her Winged Kuriboh.
Alexis took it only to frown. "Well, either way you managed to bring out Flame Wingman and beat Dr. Crowler."
"I still remember when we had to explain how your Skyscraper card worked." Zane chuckled.
"Haha, classic Jay." Kevin chuckled.
Jaden blushed slightly. "Well I managed to enroll, but someone neglected to mention the rule about..."
He suddenly paused and looked down nervously.
"Don't be too mad, but Jaden had an illegal after hours duel." Alexis explained. "Chazz didn't mention that to him and almost got him in a lot of trouble."
At that Kevin paused in shock looking at Jaden.
"I didn't know." Jaden said nervously. "He challenged me to a duel without mentioning it was against the rules and I would have won anyway."
"Don't be ridiculous! I have you beat." Chazz told him.
"Chazz, he drew Monster Reborn and you know what that would have meant." Alexis told him.
"Say what?" Chazz asked in shock.
"It's true." Jaden nodded.
"So he's go out beat. But you should know better." Kevin told Chazz.
Chazz frowned at that.
"What next?" Kevin asked.
"A fake love letter, someone sent Syrus a letter claiming I was madly in love with him and that I wanted him to visit the dorm so we could see each other." Alexis answered before turning to Syrus. "It wasn't your fault... though I might have taken advantage of the situation to have a match with Jaden myself. Unfortunately for me Thunder Giant's ability got around Cyber Blader."
"As always." Kevin chuckled.
Alexis smiled only to pause. "But... actually something bad happened."
Kevin looked to her, "Was everyone alright?"
"In the end, but someone tried kidnapping me." Alexis answered. "Jaden filled me in afterward, apparently it was someone named Titan who created fake Shadow Games. We were going to the abandoned dorm to try and find you and Atticus but it didn't exactly go well."
Kevin at that grunted placing a hand at his head. Jaden looked down. "I was worried about you Kevin, if you and Atticus both disappeared there maybe... maybe we could find a clue to where you were."
"I... I understand." Kevin said looking to him, "As long as your okay."
Jaden nodded with a smile.
"Well, he almost wasn't." Zane pointed out. "Him being at the abandoned dorm even though it was for understandable reasons nearly got him and Syrus expelled. Dr. Crowler gave them a chance though, a duel with the Paradox Brothers."
"The Greatest Tag Team? That isn't fair." Kevin said hearing that.
"Jaden would have lost if he didn't help Syrus get his confidence up a bit." Zane smiled. "Even knowing how skilled I am he challenged me to a match and to be fair he did wipe out more than half my life points in one attack."
"And your quite tough to take down yourself." Kevin grinned.
Zane chuckled at that.
"Well, after that whole match where Syrus actually won it for them Bastion dueled and beat Chazz." Alexis explained causing Chazz to frown. "He was supposed to be demoted to Ra Yellow after that but instead he left Duel Academy."
"And that Ra with us is Bastion?" Kevin asked turning to Bastion.
"Yes, it's an honor to meet you." Bastion mentioned politely.
"After that there was Wheeler, a monkey that knew how to duel." Jaden mentioned. "I almost lost that one but I pulled off a win."
"Yes, and the same happened when you dueled Jinzo. I was almost worried you might lose Jaden." Banner admitted.
"Jinzo?" Kevin asked blinking, "You dueled a Duel Spirit?"
"Yeah." Jaden admitted rubbing the back of his head awkwardly. "Then I..."
Suddenly his eyes widened and he started blushing heavily.
"Wait... he said... and I..."
Kevin blinked seeing that. Jaden was bright red. "My... match with Harrington."
"Oh you get it just now?" Bastion asked him.
Jaden turned even brighter at that before swallowing nervously. "I'll... be at the dorm."
With that he ran off in embarrassment.
"So... does anyone want to fill me in?" Kevin asked seeing that.
"Harrington was this Tennis Fanatic that challenged Jaden where the winner is my fiancee." Alexis answered.
Kevin's eyes widened before he smiled. "Your fiancee, well I'm sure Jaden wouldn't object to that. Remember when you guys first met him?"
"Wait what?" Bastion asked.
Alexis blinked before blushing. "Oh... right, the flower."
"Mind explaining that?" Chazz asked.
"When we were younger Zane, Atticus, and I were really great friends so we spent a lot of time together. Hanging out, dueling... well in secret, and when they came over we just spent time together as friends." Kevin explained. "Well long story short it was the first day Jaden ever met Alexis and he had the cutest little crush. He ran into our backyard to get the prettiest flower he could find and gave it to her. If memory serves Alexis, you kissed him on the cheek after that."
Alexis blushed but smiled, "Well he was sweet."
"You know, with everything that was going on with Atticus and Kevin he probably forgot about that but now... he probably still does have a crush on you Alexis." Zane mentioned.
Kevin chuckled. Alexis blushed slightly. "I doubt it, Jaden doesn't love anything more than Dueling. Anyway, as far as I can remember the only other things that have really happened so far were the Duel Giant who was attacking Obelisk Blue students but Jaden beat him and he just vanished, a Ra Yellow named Dimitri stole Yugi Muto's deck but Jaden managed to beat him, and Jaden beat Bastion to represent Duel Academy in the School Duel where he beat Chazz."
"You forgot about Blair sneaking in." Zane reminded her.
"Blair... Blair Flannigan wasn't she that girl that you met at the Nationals?" Kevin asked him.
"The same, she snuck in because she had a crush on me. She almost beat Jaden herself but ended up losing and going home." Zane answered. "Needless to say it's been an interesting year, and that was before the Shadow Riders made their move."
"Atticus was brainwashed and Jaden managed to beat him, and Zane beat you the other day." Syrus finished.
"Which brings us to here." Kevin finished.
It would seem so." Bastion nodded. "Though I have to admit I'm still shocked you're Jaden's brother."
"Yeah since my real last name is Yuki." Kevin grinned.
"No way, there's absolutely no way a champion duelist like Kevin Striker could be related to that slacker." Chazz argued. "It's impossible."
Kevin gave a stare, "I would appreciate it if you would stop calling my younger brother a slacker."
"Well... let's just say he believes more in practice than theory." Bastion admitted. "He's a great duelist, but not quite as good a student."
"Yeah already know that as much." Kevin admitted, "Well now that we got your story out of the way we should do the same to me."
"Probably a good idea." Zane nodded. "Then again, we should be careful considering the Shadow Riders could make their next move at any moment."
Kevin nodded at that. Alexis frowned. "I know this one so I think I should go talk with Jaden. Let me know if anything happens to Atticus ok?"
"Got it Lex." Zane nodded.
She nodded walking out of the infirmary. Kevin at that stood up.
"Is something wrong?" Syrus asked.
"Just getting up from the bed." Kevin answered.
"Oh." Syrus mentioned quietly.
Meanwhile...
Alexis looking around, "Jay?"
She walked to the Slifer Red Dorm only to notice the door to his room was slightly open. Alexis walked, and checked in. She noticed Jaden lying on his bed clearly still a bit embarrassed.
"Oh Jaden." Alexis sighed gently putting a hand on his shoulder.
Jaden flinched as he turned over. Alexis had a comforting smile. "It's ok Jaden."
"How long were you there?" Jaden asked.
"I just got here." Alexis answered sitting down next to him. "Can I tell you something?"
"Yeah?" Jaden asked.
"I think what you did when we were kids was really sweet, and I'm glad you managed to get to come to Duel Academy." Alexis smiled softly before taking Jaden's hand. "Maybe tomorrow we can go on a small date?"
Jaden's eyes widen as he blushed, "Uh... I..."
Alexis blushed slightly herself. "You're a kind person Jaden, and a caring one."
She closed her eyes before gently kissing Jaden. Jaden widen his eyes before kissing her back. A few moments later she pulled back and smiled. "So... tomorrow?"
"Y-Yeah." Jaden nodded with a blush.
Alexis nodded only to embrace him again. "I'm already looking forward to it."
She paused and closed her eyes before blushing slightly. Jaden blushed at that hugging her back.
"Jaden... do you still love me?" Alexis asked him quietly.
"...Yeah."
Alexis nodded before very briefly kissing Jaden deeply. Jaden kissed her back. Alexis pulled back before smiling gently.
With Kevin and the others...
Kevin looked out the window at the Academy as he said, "Well not much things change."
"You can say that again." Zane nodded.
"Though appearances are one thing. The inside of it are another." Kevin mentioned.
"That's true." Zane smiled. "Then again the more things change the more they stay the same. And we're lucky you're smarter than Malek was."
That made Kevin chuckle.
"You two really do know each other." Bastion noted. "Do you have any advice for us?"
"About what?" Zane asked.
"Duh, going pro or trying to be the next King of Games." Chazz answered. "Kevin Striker's one of the only people to beat Seto Kaiba after all."
"I don't know where to start. What I can say is be a Professional Duelist because that was my endgame goal back then." Kevin told them.
"It's all our goals." Zane reminded him. "Well, right now our goals are protecting the Spirit Keys."
"How many are there so far?" Kevin asked.
"Seven." Syrus answered.
"Jaden, Chazz, Alexis, Bastion, Dr. Crowler, Professor Banner and I have them." Zane explained showing Kevin his key. "If the Shadow Riders get them all they'll release an incredibly dangerous set of cards known as the Sacred Beasts that are apparently buried under Duel Academy."
"Gee no pressure." Kevin said sarcastically, "And Malek was the second Shadow Rider?"
Zane nodded at that.
"Well we're nearly halfway through, and we're off to a good start." Kevin mentioned.
"We don't know how many Shadow Riders there are though." Syrus admitted.
"Well still we gotten care to two of them." Kevin said before noticing Alexis, and Jaden, "Hey you two."
Alexis smiled while Jaden swallowed before tearing up. "Kev... what happened to you?"
Kevin looked at him.
"He means when you disappeared, that's part of the reason Jaden came to Duel Academy." Alexis explained.
"I don't remember. My memory of what happened is still foggy." Kevin admitted placing a hand on his head.
"Well, at least you and Atticus are alright." Zane told him.
Kevin nodded in agreement.
"Has anyone told Chancellor Shepherd?" Bastion inquired.
"I don't think so." Syrus admitted.
"We should let him know." Alexis suggested.
"Yeah, and he might've missed me." Kevin chuckled.
"I doubt he missed you as much as Jaden did." Zane chuckled back.
They walked to the office.
"Kevin Yuki, is it really you?" Shepherd asked in shock seeing him.
"Hey Shepherd." Kevin greeted with a wave.
"First Atticus and now you, this truly is a wonderful year for our school." Shepherd smiled.
"Won't stay like that for long due to the Shadow Riders." Kevin admitted.
"So you've been filled in on our situation then." Shepherd noted thoughtfully. "It's quiet for now, hopefully you'll have time to readjust to being a student here... though there is one thing on that topic."
"What's that?" Kevin asked.
"This may be a bit frustrating for you Kevin, but considering the circumstances you'll have to start again as a first year." Shepherd told him. "The same will apply to Atticus once he wakes up."
"That's pretty fair. Though it might be best if I Graduate early after this year." Kevin admitted to him, "I don't want Zane being alone as the only one of us to Graduate."
"What about your brother?" Alexis asked him.
"Already know what to do." Kevin assured with a grin.
"We'll discuss this when graduation comes, for now what do you plan on doing?" Shepherd asked him.
"Aid you guys in fighting the Shadow Riders." Kevin answered, "You need someone like me to protect the Spirit Keys since I was one of this Academy's Top Students. But first the people who don't know my story should listen."
Shepherd nodded at that. "We would definitely appreciate your help."
"Alright everyone got some time to let me ramble?" Kevin asked.
"Of course." Bastion nodded.
"Well it all started about 8 years back." Kevin started.
Flashback...
Kevin: I was grown into the Yuki Family Line as the first born son of Junpei, and Alice Yuki. My Dad is one of the big shots often working on a successful business of several Culinary Schools while my Mother is religious. So religious that she wants NOTHING to do with Dueling. That doesn't work well with me so she pretty much keeps me from Dueling while our Head Maid, Kagome lets me duel while she isn't looking. And that is the time I met Atticus, Zane, and Alexis that we stick together growing stronger. THAT's when we found the ad for the Domino City Championship.
A young Kevin was placed a newspaper on a park table where Atticus, Zane, and Alexis all younger were at, "Look here guys!"
"What is it Kevin?" the young Atticus asked him.
"It's a tournament ad for all Duelists." Kevin answered pointing at the ad, "A big competition where I can be one step closer to be a Professional Duelist!"
"Shh... we can't use the D word remember?" a younger Zane reminded him before smiling. "Does it say anything about the competition?"
"Well it said that people with big dreams can compete for the grand prize of 5,000 Bucks. I personally don't mind cash so I'll split it with you guys." Kevin said to them.
"Who said you were going to win?" Atticus asked. "I think I will."
"We don't know for certain since you taught me A LOT about Red-Eyes." Kevin grinned to him.
"But what about your mom? Won't she find out?" Alexis asked him.
Kevin paused, "Ah yeah that's a good point... I didn't think of that."
"Which means your better sitting this out." Zane said crossing his arms.
That was when Kevin had an idea, "Unless... I change my appearance, and not enter as Kevin Yuki."
"You mean a disguise?" a young Alexis asked him. "Would that work?"
"It should." Kevin grinned, "Alright in Tournaments guys call me Kevin Striker!"
"Sounds good." Zane smiled.
Kevin: That's how the Kevin Striker persona was born. Long story short me, and Atticus had a big battle but I barely managed to win against him. When I saw that another tournament known as the Kaiba National Tournament was opening I know that Seto Kaiba himself can spectate the duels happening that I want him to see what I can do. So after signing up, and climbing up the roof is the final match where all my skills are put to the test to show Kaiba I can be a great duelist.
In a chair looking over was Seto Kaiba with Mokuba staring down at a match happening with Kevin no cards on his field, and hand with 400 LP while his opponent has 2600 LP with only Guardian Angel Joan after ending his turn.
"And it looks like this is the end of Kevin Striker!" the announcer called seeing this.
"Come on Striker." Atticus called from the stands. "You can still turn this one around."
Kevin grinned, "Ya know it! My turn draw!"
Kevin drew as he looked before grinning, "I win."
"Say what?" his opponent asked hearing that.
"I activate Red-Eyes Fusion!" Kevin called raising the card, "I'm allowed to summon a Fusion Monster as long as it has Red-Eyes Black Dragon in it's text from my hand, field, or Deck! So I'll fuse Red-Eyes with Summoned Skull that's already in my Deck!"
The two fused together as he called, "To create the Archfiend Black Skull Dragon!"
A huge demonic dragon with flames appeared roaring with 3200 attack points.
"3200!" his opponent cried in shock. 'It's fine, I have everything I need to win on my next turn even without Guardian Angel Joan.'
"And now Archfiend Skull Dragon attack with Inferno Dark Storm!" Kevin called as it fired a blast striking Joan as his opponent cried out. (?: 2200)
"It's... not over yet!" the opponent yelled.
"Actually it is." Kevin grinned which made him raise an eyebrow as Kevin revealed, "Here is Black Skull Dragon's ability! At anytime it battles when Fusion Summoned, I'd take a Normal Red-Eyes in my graveyard, shuffle it in my Deck, and deal you damage equal to it's attack points!"
"Not bad." Kaiba noted hearing that.
"What!?" the opponent cried seeing he won't survive this.
"Go Black Skull Dragon! Finish him off with Raging Inferno Storm!" Kevin called as Skull Dragon fired a flaming blast showing Red-Eyes striking his opponent as he cried out knelling.

"And with that turnaround Kevin Striker has won the final match, and is the first ever Champion of the Kaiba National Tournament!" the announcer called as the crowd cheered.
"Hold it!"
Confused everyone looked. Seto Kaiba himself was walking out to the field. "This competition isn't over yet."
"Mr. Kaiba?" the announcer asked seeing that while Kevin puffed his chest standing straight.
"You managed to beat everyone else, but now I'll put your skills to an actual test." Kaiba mentioned turning to Kevin. "So, are you prepared for one final match?"
Kevin blinked in shock hearing that, "Your saying that...?"
"Well?" Kaiba asked activating his Duel Disk. "What's your answer?"
Kevin looked excited as he grinned, "Okay Kaiba! Your on!"
Kaiba smirked at that. "I had a feeling that would be your answer."
"Kaiba is much different then the other Duelists, Kevin faced. Can he be alright?" Alexis asked seeing this.
"Alright Duelists ready!?" the announcer asked they prepared, "Alright ready? GO!"

Krystal Dragon fired its own blast causing both dragons to shatter.
"And now I activate Lightpulsar's ability! By discarding my own Krystal Dragon a light monster, and Red-Eyes a dark monster from my hand to the graveyard, I can summon him back!" Kevin added discarding two cards as Lightpulsar appeared again roaring.
Kaiba's eyes widened in shock.
"I'll place 1 card down, and end my turn." Kevin ended with a grin.

"I'll start by revealing the Blue-Eyes White Dragon in my hand, and by doing so I can summon my Blue-Eyes Alternative White Dragon in attack mode." Kaiba declared showing the card as another version appeared roaring.

First of the Dragons charged a blast attacking it.
"That allows me to activate Prideful Roar!" Kevin added.

"Your turn Kaiba which means Prideful Roar's effect ends, and First of the Dragon's points are back to normal." Kevin said to him.

Blue-Eyes attacked again as Kevin watched in shock as the monster was destroyed mercilessly showing itself as Red-Eyes Wyvern.

The two fused together as he called, "Come out! Archfiend Black Skull Dragon!"

"Huh?" Kevin asked surprised seeing it.
"Something wrong?" Kaiba challenged.
Kevin grunted, "Black Skull Dragon attack Twin Burst with Inferno Dark Storm!"
His Dragon charged a huge blast attacking the Fusion Dragon.
"Blue-Eyes Twin Burst Dragon can't be destroyed in battle." Kaiba revealed as he braced himself.

"Maybe but I can still use Black Skull Dragon's ability!" Kevin called as it charged an attack, "When he battles after being Fusion Summoned, I can shuffle a Normal Red-Eyes back to my Deck from the graveyard, and deal you damage equal to it's attack points! Raging Inferno Storm!"
Skull Dragon fired a blast shaping as Red-Eyes at Kaiba. Kaiba braced himself as the blast hit.

'Alright he's on his last ropes. And that means the moment he destroys Black Skull Dragon, Chthonian Blast is ready to finish him off.' Kevin thought seeing the final card in his hand, 'Once Skull Dragon is destroyed, it can destroy a monster with the lowest attack points which is what Twin Burst is right now, and deal damage to both of us equal to half it's points. 1500 to point which would leave me as both the winner, and having 1100 points remaining. I got this in the bag!'
With that in mind he grinned, "I place 1 card face-down, and end my turn!"
Kaiba 4th Turn:
Kaiba drew his card before looking at the field and frowning. "I activate Megamorph."

Zane: Needless to say we were all a little disappointed he lost but that was just the beginning for Kevin Striker.
Alexis: Yeah, but it's getting kind of late so maybe we'll fill you in on the rest another time?
Flashback End...
"I was close to take him out. But that's the beginning." Kevin shrugged.
"We're definitely hearing the rest of this." Chazz told him.
"You don't mind do you?" Bastion inquired.
"Sure. But like Lex said it's getting late." Kevin told them, "Does anyone have a room I can get into cause I don't want to stay at the Infirmary."
"There should be a spare room in the dorm." Zane told him.
"Thanks Zane." Kevin smiled.
With that the group all left the room.
