Anger Management
Chapter Sixth
While Bishop and Torres were heading for Washington, D.C. She had to asked Torres to stop on the side of the curve to talk. "What's wrong Eleanor?" He had to asked with the question.
"I am fine Nick. I was thinking about the address that Gibbs and McGee were heading for. Alex Roberts profile had stated besides being a long range shooter. He was also an expert in explosives. So why did the owner of store tell us or rather give us his address so willingly. As if there was something going on along with mentioning the other Marine recruiter."
"I don't either unless it was some sort of a trap. I am going to call Gibbs and tell him this." Nick said strongly with his demeanor while pulling out his cell phone. "His phone is going to voicemail Elle. Come on let's turn back?"
Eleanor Bishop checking for traffic had turned around to head for Glendale taking the major highway to get there with the GPS up and running inside the vehicle. "I just don't get this Nick as to why this Alex Roberts is going after Gibbs after killing Kendall Lorenzo?"
"Who can understand the mind of a killer Eleanor?" He responded with seeing Bishop speeding up slightly with moving onto the major highway.
McGee and Leroy Jethro Gibbs were able to walk inside the apartment complex with the front door open. They started to smell something they weren't able to pinpoint it. While taking the elevator to the fourth floor. There wasn't anyone around not knowing that Alex Roberts was the only one living in the rundown apartment complex. It was all an setup taking weeks to complete by Roberts.
"I still smell it boss. It could be a gas leak coming from somewhere." McGee was frantic as with Gibbs taking a look again at the piece of paper written by Stromm Beckman.
"Next one over Timothy. Hopefully he's home and with catching him off guard as well." Gibbs pointed his hand at the number on the door with being cracked open slightly. Both of the agents were on alert with getting ready to move in with their guns. "Something doesn't seem right." When he pushed in the door as with Tim. All of a sudden they see the timer sitting in the middle of the floor. "LET'S GET THE HELL OUT OF HERE NOW! Gibbs screamed out as he and Tim ran as fast as they could down the hall and finding the stairwell.
While they were inside...The explosive had gone off taking out Roberts apartment and half the floor. The concussion of the explosion knocked Gibbs down seven steps to land on the bottom of the third floor. Meanwhile Timothy McGee was knocked up against the wall with no injuries to be lucky.
With the explosion. 911 was called by eyewitnesses along with the fire department and ambulances in case of injuries.
Gibbs had come to with trying to move with his back no doubt had been bruised along with his right knee. However he was able to stand with seeing Tim moving with coming over to him and the seven steps. "Boss are you alright?" Seeing that the both of them were covered in dirt, dust and other elements.
"I seem to be though my back does hurt like hell. Can you be able to take a look?" McGee had to help him with removing his coat and lifting his shirt and white polo to notice the bruising. Though nothing was embedded into his spine. Thank god!
"You're good boss. However I do think we need to get out out of here and speak with the police investigators and call NCIS as well. I think it's a good idea that I take you to the hospital to have you checked out."
"No way in hell I am going to the hospital. I will be fine with the pain medication I was given from Doctor Taft. I don't need him on my back as with Director Vance. What we need to do is to find this Alex Roberts and why he's targeting me?"
Taking the rest of the stairs slow until they reached the entrance and into the crisp air. Bishop and Torres had arrived seeing what had happened with the apartment complex. They ran across the street to try and help out when they noticed Gibbs and Tim were alive.
"MY GOD! Are the both of you alright?" Bishop needed to hug the both of them as per the safety net for her and even for Nick.
"We seem to be Bishop. It was sometype of an explosive set to go off in the middle of Roberts living room. What made the both of you to come here?" Gibbs will need to asked wincing with his back spasming. Otherwise he was able to ride it out with taking in a deep breath.
Nick said the following..."It was a set up boss after talking with the owner of the Read & Write store. So Bishop suggested that we come here after trying to call you on your cell."
"I had turned it off not wanting to be bothered. Come on let's go talk with the police. Bishop call Leon Vance and tell him what has happened."
"I will do it right away. What about calling Loreile?" Bishop needed to asked for concern for her and the unborn child Loreile is carrying.
"Yes, call her. But tell her that I am alright to ease her fray nerves. Ok?" He smiled before walking over to the officers and ambulance technicians going inside to check for survivors.
Captain Donovan of the Glendale police department finished talking to Gibbs and the rest of the NCIS agents needing to get the full picture of what had happen.
Having heard about NCIS and there agents. He was watching Gibbs get into his vehicle as if he is really having a problem with his lower back. He really didn't need to go to the hospital. However he received a call from Doctor Cyril Taft.
Gibbs answered it with McGee sitting next to him..."Gibbs here, Doc why are calling me?" He looked over at McGee not liking his expression that he wasn't going to fight the doctor.
"I had Director Vance call me telling the story about what happened with the explosion and knocking you and McGee from inside the stairwell. I want you to come to the hospital now so that I can check out your spine Gibbs. NOW! Do I make myself clear?"
"I guess that I have no choice in the matter Doctor Taft?" He stated with anger even though he was feeling the pain now and his right knee.
"No." He said flat out...
"Fine. I am coming now. It's going to take some time to get to the hospital Doc. So you're going to be needing to be patience." Gibbs hung up his cell phone to drive off fast and angry...
