Chapter 26th

Leroy Jethro Gibbs was running through the halls of the hospital of the fourth floor to reach the maternity ward and his wife. He finally reached it with moving over to the nurses station. "I am Special Agent Gibbs of NCIS. My wife Loreile was brought in earlier with having contractions. Her doctor is Angela Silvers." He was out of breath with the supervisor nurse telling him that his wife was in room 432 berthing area.

"Thank you." He shouted out with heading in the direction. He was a real wreck unlike when he was deployed many years ago as a marine to miss out on Kelly's birth.

Meanwhile David saw him walking when he stopped him for a moment. "Elizabeth is in with her now and is in great deal of pain from the contractions. Gibbs, she is having a hard time right now." David had to tell him to make his point with the sentence.

"I am here now to hold my wife's hand and support her with the delivery." He said with walking away to enter into the out area with a nurse telling him to place on a white gown, cap and gloves. He changed into the gown with the cap while placing on the gloves making his hands to swell.

Afterwards he headed inside to see Doctor Silvers checking her again with the dilation and contractions to be a few more hours.

Gibbs asked the doctor on how the baby was doing. While his wife screamed out from the contraction to shoot up her heart rate and blood pressure. Leroy Jethro Gibbs took her hand to console his wife with emotional support and a soft peck to her head soaked with sweat.

"Thank god, Jethro you're here. I didn't know what to do if you weren't able to get here in time?" She cried out with Gibbs using the white cloth to wipe her brow.

"I was in the basement working on putting together a new cradle when I had gotten the text from Elizabeth. I must of broken more traffic violations without having a police car stopping me." He said to have his wife smiling with the calmness for the moment.

"Since I am having this baby soon. What's new at work Jethro since you're not called in a few days?" She asked with a grimace as the contraction was starting up again. "I swear!"

"Hey girlie! Watch your language. And besides work is work with two new cases with a robbery at a marine trust fund and two naval officers found shot to death in Annandale, Virginia. Otherwise nothing new on Jose Juan Hernandez and his regime."

As the contraction disappeared. It gave Loreile to breath with her husband kissing her on her cheek. "What does Leon have to say on the subject Jethro?"

"I haven't spoken to him in a few days with Leon away on a few days personal time for his daughter Kayla graduating from her college with high marks. He said that the DOD and SECNAV will be getting back to us with the answers." He felt bad for her at the moment suffering a great deal wondering if Shannon had gone through the same since she never really mention the discomfort until it was time to bare down for the delivery with her mother by her side.

Six hours later with Gibbs leaving for two breaks for coffee and sandwiches while Elizabeth had taken over. McGee, Torres, Bishop, Kasie and even Lt. James Brown was in the waiting room with Gibbs coming out to take a break and talk with them.

"Nothing everyone. But Doctor Angela Silvers had said it was very soon that Shane Jackson Gibbs will be making an appearance." He had gone out to take a quick walk with calling Tobias and telling him about Loreile.

Tobias Fornell was at home with Emily watching the old flick on cable "AIR FORCE ONE" with Harrison Ford. "I tell you, Jethro it's about time she is having the baby. It felt like forever she was carrying Shane?"

"No kidding Tobias. I will call you later when I know for sure she is going to be delivering our child." He hung up the phone to head back to the berthing room...

"Alright Loriele it's time to deliver this baby." Doctor Silvers will announced with Gibbs hearing it coming through the door. "Are you ready Special Agent Gibbs?"

"You betcha!" He stated with excitement to hold his son for the very first time since Kelly. He moved over to his wife screaming trying to breath at the same time. "Come on Loreile, you can do this." He stated with taking hold of her hand.

"Here we go everyone. Loreile when I tell you, I want you to push hard as you can with your husband to help with raising your head up."

"I will do my best Doctor." As she looks up into her husband's blue eyes. She felt so in love with him again for when she had first met him at the Celebration party for SECNAV and the DOD.

"Okay now push hard." She ordered with her hands below ready to pull the head out. "AGAIN!" As Loreile and Gibbs working in tantrum to get Shane delivered as she screamed out at the pain tearing her below. "ALMOST THERE LOREILE!"

Gibbs lifted her up further in order to have the final push and be free finally..."Come on sweetie, you can do it." He said with Loreile squeezing his hand really hard when finally he was out and the doctor taking care of the details of making sure that Shane was cleaned up and breathing with a loud cry to have the parents thrilled with the prospects of being parents again.

After cleaning and cutting the chord. Shane was brought over to be weighted. " So Special Agent Gibbs would you like to guess on how much your son weighs?"

"Ducky said 7 pounds 13 ounces while I said 7 pounds 16 ounces. So what was it Doctor Silvers?" He said with looking down at his wife totally exhausted from the delivery.

"You were right with the guess with it being right on the mark." She said with the nurse cleaning up further...

Loreile will say the following..."Don't tell me it was a poll between everyone at NCIS and you won?" She replied with a tired smile.

"I just won $200.00 and I am going to be using it take my wife out to dinner when she gets out of the hospital. Even though I know Director Vance is going to hire a nanny to help with taking care and watching over Shane when we are not around."

"You mean an undercover agent playing nanny Jethro?" Loreile asked softly in his ear so that the doctor and others didn't hear.

"Agent Gibbs would you like to hold your son Shane Jackson Gibbs in your arms before we hand him over to his mother?" Angela Silvers was proud to have delivered this very special child into this world.

Gibbs had tears in his eyes when the nurse place the baby boy into his arms. He couldn't get over the blue eyes of his son. " He's beautiful Loreile!" He smiled with kissing the top of the blanket so not to give his son any germs.
