Chapter 145th
Kasie driving her Volkswagon to Doctor Palmer's apartment with his daughter Victoria decided to stay over his mother's house for a few days. While Palmer was making MEATLOAF since Kasie loves it for the most part.
Parking her vehicle in front of the apartment complex with the lights on in the area making it safer along with the regular police patrols.
Locking the doors with her remote and placing it back into her purse. She had been nervous as hell coming here in the first place. While thinking about Loreile and her delivery of the baby being their third for god sake!
Taking the steps up to the double doors having to be unlocked. She was able to take the elevator up to the fifth floor with getting inside with no one around. Pushing the button she had taken a deep breath feeling the power of the elevator taking a moment to reach the floor.
When the door opened she had stepped out noticing one of the doors slight ajar for some odd reason. But she didn't bother to stop and check it out. She was NCIS and she is supposed to be nosey as hell.
Moving over to the ajar door she heard moaning when she walked in to see the two bodies on the living room floor with gunshot wounds. "OMG! She ran to Palmer's door with it being unlocked for her.
"JIMMY Please come there are two bodies having been shot with wounds in their head and chests. However one of them is still alive just barely?" she cried out with excitement as she called 911 with seeing Palmer to turned off the stove while the meatloaf was sitting on the top with the aluminum foil covering it.
Palmer went to get his medical bag having to be in the bedroom under his bed for whenever it's needed.
"I just don't understand it Kasie? I saw them earlier coming into the elevator with me. Even though David and his wife Lorraine had looked somewhat nervous." he said with trying to remember most or all of the conversation.
"911 is sending an ambulance, metro police, and a coroner's van," she said with her nerves on edge moving over to the woman a blonde with her pulse slowly disappearing for the moment. While Palmer checked David's pulse to be nothing at all with two shots to his head and one to the chest.
"She's dead Jimmy! There was nothing we were able to do?" she noted to check the bedroom for any other evidence trying not to touch a thing with no gloves when she heard the Metro police arriving into the living room.
But she had found the bedroom ransacked as well as she went out into the living room with Lt. Jack Rizzillo of Metro with his partner.
"What happened here?" his first words out the mouth.
"I have no idea. I came here to visit my friend Doctor Jimmy Palmer of NCIS. I work there as well as a forensics expert in the lab for the past three years. I was walking by when I noticed the door ajar and I walked inside to see the bodies on the floor." she noted with a deep breath. "I tried to see if I will be able to help the woman hearing the moan out in the corridor.
"Did you happened to see anyone around or inside of the apartment?" Lt. Rizzillo had to ask with the question while the rest of the crime scene unit arrived as with the coroner, ambulance technicians with the stretcher. Even though they were going to be needing a second one.
"No one Lt. Rizzillo." Kasie had said to him and the whirlwind of activity.
Palmer explained to them that he had seen them earlier in the elevator with the two dead now.
"Did they happened to say anything to you or themselves?" as he was writing notes onto the small pad in his hand.
"Nothing at all other than the fact they seem really nervous about something." Palmer snapped back with his response.
"If you're able to think of anything else. Please contact the precinct with the information. But for now, the bodies will be taken to the autopsy bay to find out what exactly had killed them in the first place." he had to say to Palmer and Kasie.
Jimmy spoke to Kasie to head back to his apartment with pulling out the keys. Both of them needed to eat and drink something stronger.
Walking inside his apartment with the lights on. "I will have dinner ready in a jiffy," he said with Kasie to relax on the couch still shaking slightly.
"I am starved after all that Jimmy. I am wondering what happened with those two in the apartment?" she had to ask.
"Don't know! However Metro is on the job now in order to find out the truth of the matter. It's too bad that both of them didn't work in the Navy or Marines or else NCIS will be able to get involved?" Jimmy said.
"Just what if they were Jimmy? Maybe we will be able to investigate the two murders in the first place?" Kasie suggested with Jimmy reheating the meatloaf and other essentials for the dinner.
"You mean the both of us check it out with their last known location before they were shot?" Jimmy snapped back with his response.
"Sure. And we don't let anyone know that we are working on one of our own cases?" Kasie commented with Jimmy changing his expression with a positive aspect. "Besides we need to be careful not knowing on whether those that had shot the two are on to us with showing up at the apartment?"
"Maybe we should ask for help like with Nick and McGee without the Director's knowledge or Gibbs still in the hospital with his surgery due soon. Unless they have already started with the operation?" Palmer noted with his comment about his mentor and friend.
