Chapter 169th

Sergeant Ackerman watched the NCIS agents get into their rented vehicles with moving off the side. He headed for his own NCIS vehicle to head back to the regional office to write up a report for his own boss.

He was glad to be inside his car with turning up the air conditioning. Special Agent Nicholas Torres was right in saying that it was blasted hot and hopefully soon it was going to be going to rain finally.

Gibbs sitting next to McGee driving the rental vehicle with his map sitting next to Gibbs's leg and the GPS tracking device telling them where the hotel was located onto the screen. "It's not going to take all that long with getting to the hotel Tim?" Gibbs noted with his words to his friend.

"You get the feeling that this operation is not really working out as it should boss?" McGee paused for the moment with stopping for a red light.

With the shake of Gibbs's head. "What do you mean Tim?" Gibbs instructed with the light changing to green.

"I just don't know anymore Boss as if those working for Sonata industries had been pushing our buttons," he tells him with a strange look with his demeanor.

"You really think so Tim?" Gibbs was beginning to think too much like him all of a sudden. "As do I McGee and I just hate it nevertheless like Loreile will tell me on occasion." Gibbs paused with a drink from his bottled water. "I sure can use a real drink of Bourbon or Whiskey," he advised.

"It's amazing Gibbs that your ulcer hasn't caused you more trouble with the Bourbon and Whiskey?" Tim had been concerned for his friend and former team leader.

"Tell me about it Tim!" he preceded with his comment by seeing the hotel coming up in front of them. "It's about time we are here and I sure could use a good meal, shower, and sleep?" Gibbs makes mention to him by turning into the underground parking lot of the hotel with Nick doing the same behind them in the other rental vehicle.

"But to be serious now Boss, I will point out to Nick mostly to be careful altogether once we get inside the tunnels of the Coppermines?" he says with parking on the first level and most of all the elevator to lead them up to the lobby to sign into the guest log.

When Gibbs and McGee walked up to the manager working behind the brown desk. He an older man in his sixties looked up from the computer terminal. "Can I help you, gentlemen?" he will say to them with curiosity.

"We are here from Washington, D.C. Naval yards reserved suites for the next few days or longer depending on how everything goes?" Tim makes mention.

"Let me check the computer logs and then I need all of you to sign the logs?" he needed to say to the NCIS agents.

After a few moments with the valets arriving at carrying their personal belongings. Gibbs decided to just carry his duffle bag with his rifle and scope inside just to be safe than sorry later.
