Third person pov:
Frey lands, Twins road
A dozen horsemen were escorting a group of five men towards the twins, the head rider of the group of five men was slight of stature, dark brown hair, dark green eyes and wearing brown tunic with black lizard upon a green background.
This was Lord Reed; head of house Reed and he knew that this lord Frey is strange in his actions as a lord.
Lord Reed pov:
Riding through the gatehouse over the drawbridge into the twins, the men who escorted us here spread across the outskirts of the yard not getting off their horses.
You couldn't really see their faces, blocked by the faceplate and the chainmail around their heads.
There was a man and a boy standing in the middle of the court yard.
My men and I climbed off are horses, the boy moves to me the man followed.
He held out his hand, "I welcome you lord reed to the Twins." He said
"This is my uncle Myke Frey next to me, shall we head into the hall." He said, clasping his forearm
My company and I follow him and his uncle into the great hall.
The hall was clear of anything besides a circle table and chairs, the younger Frey sits his uncle sits beside him.
"I offer you bread and salt." He said, motioning outward with an open hand
A servant brings forward a plate of salt and bread, I broke off a piece of the bread dipping it into the salt.
I sat down across from the boy; my guards follow my action.
"Now that's out of the way, uncle would you please." He said, staring at me
Myke Frey rolls out a map of Westeros and settlements and roads.
"Soon the road connecting the twins to the Kingsroad, Seagard, and the Kingsroad itself will be renovated." He said, motioning with his finger
"lord Frey you said you want to improve relations between our houses, how are you going to do this?" I asked, looking at the map
"They say the Crannogmen are poor, but you have a resource that could give you food but also a commodity to trade." He says smirking
"What is this resource you speak of?" I asked
"Lion lizards, I do believe it's the symbol of your house it can provide meat, and its hides could be prized." He said, leaning forward out of his chair
"It's the symbol of my house." I said, gripping the table tightly
"You could rise above what is, I know most lords look down you the same could be said for house Frey for we come from humble beginnings compared to other lords." He said, leaning back into his chair
He paused for a couple seconds, "Why have enemies, when you can have friends, soon there will be a dock on the western shore upriver from the twins it will allow you to stop here pay a small fee and then go onto sell the hides a Seagard and many places in Westeros." He said
Walder pov:
"To prove to you about this deal, I would like to buy some weirwood saplings to plant in the Frey lands." I said, watching him
Lord Reed sat there for a while, "If I agree to this deal, I want it in writing." He said
I clasped my hands together, "That's great, uncle the contracts." I said, he brought out two contracts
For a couple hours, lord Reed and I discussed the fee they would pay, when they dock to and from the twins, him and I signed the contracts and sealed them with both of our seals, we both took one contract.
"Instead of doing contracts or deals constantly in the future, I would like to seal this in blood?" He asked
I got really confused when he said that, "What do you mean?" I asked
"A marriage between you and a woman of house reed, since you're so young the marriage would be hold here at the Twins and on your nineteenth nameday." He said
I want this deal and arranged marriages in this world are pretty much business deals, and if I am going to marry someone, I rather have it where I have an equal.
I was frozen for a what felt like hours, "I am agreeable to that, but I would like a smart woman who will fight with me on and off the battle field." I said
He just starts smiling, "Southron you sound more northerner than southron." He said, he held out his hand
I shake his forearm, "So will you be staying I have rooms prepared?" I asked
"No, I will be heading back to Greywater Watch, I shall send a raven of your match." He said
"Ok I wish you luck on you journey, I will have some men escort you to the border." I said, standing up from the table
My uncle and I followed them out into the yard, I said, "uncle could you and a dozen guards escort lord reed and his company to are border".
Time skip:
As the reed party left, I was heading to Maester Harran office knocking on the door.
"Come in." Someone said
Walking in Maester was at his desk, "What can I do for you milord?" He asked
Sitting in a chair, "How long until we finish the road on Kingsroad and the road to Seagard?" I asked
"If everything goes as plan the road to seagard will be done in four months, the kingsroad will be done in six months." He said, leaning in his chair
"Milord anything else?" He asked
"Once the roads are done, start building the dock on the western bank and find some people willing to become a merchant for house Frey, and hold off on importing tart grape plants and building vineyard" I said, getting up heading to the door
"That will be all for now." I said, walking out of the office, I decided to train in the court.
