I didn't know what to do. Nicole was shaking with fear. "Nicki, what do you mean dracaena? Why are you scared?" I asked quietly. I helped her up, as she told me, "I got your emergency meeting. It must've been really important because it was close to midnight. I was walking here, when…" Her voice trailed off. She looked terrified.
"What?" I pressed. "When I saw—" She scrambled out of my arms back into the bushes. "What's wrong?" I ask confused. Then I realized I forgot to introduce her to the seven people holding weapons. I cursed silently. "Nicki, they're friends of mine. They're the reason I called this meeting. Also, it's really dark maybe you just imagined something." I explained.
She slowly rose from the bushes and stared at the seven. "Um." Was all she said.
I saw her more clearly now, her dark copper skin shined in the moonlight. Her long chocolate hair was tied into a hasty ponytail and her pastel pink glasses were foggy from the cloudy weather.
I slowly brought her to eight. They stared at her too. "Guys! Introduce yourselves," I whispered. They fumbled and muttered they're introductions. I didn't think Nicki's eyes could get any wider, but I was wrong. "Ollie, they're-that's," She started, pointing.
I nodded. Before she could say anything else, footsteps danced on the pavement. I turned and saw Cassie and Lilith talking laughing. Cassie was skipping to the playground. Well, I bet you can guess their faces when they saw Nicole terror-struck, eight people looking back at them, and me, completely calm.
Lilith and Cassie immediately stopped laughing. "Who are… why is Nicki, okay, what the waffles is going on here?" Cassie demanded. Leo laughed quietly. Hazel has to nudge him to stop. "Okay, let's introductions one more time please, before one of us dies from shock." I said. Lilith, Cassie and Nicole nodded stiffly.
We sat in a circle, me and my friends on one side, and the eight on the other. We each said names. "Yay, I'm back in kindergarten again. I always knew I never passed that grade." Cassie said, un-enthusiastically. Leo, however, laughed.
After introductions, I explained how they shadow traveled into my closet, and how we fought Tammi and her minions at me house. Of course, my friends were shocked by my unbelievable moves and skills or the fact that they were sitting with fictional characters from a very popular book. But I'm sure it was the first reason.
"Okie-doke, questions?" I asked. I guess I should have known my friends' hands would've been in the air. "Lilith," She nods. "Okay, so you just expect to believe that they're actually… I don't know Olivia, sounds nuts, we're friends with Cassie." Cassie and I smiled.
"Ok, Nico should be able to shadow travel. Nico, could you just shadow travel to the see-saw, please?" I asked. He nodded, and got up. He called the shadows around him. Then the darkness enveloped him, just as quickly, he appeared next to the see-saw. Can I just say, the look on my friends' faces were priceless?
Lilith and Nicki stared at Nico. He sheepishly sat back down. Cassie had a huge grin spread on her face. "Woah. Point taken." Lilith said. "Next," I called. "Where did they come from?" Nicki asked. "California" I answered. She frowned. "What were they doing there?" She looked at the eight.
"We'd just finished a big fight against Gaea. Jason and I wanted to celebrate, so we found Nico and asked him to help us. He shadow-traveled and got everyone, except for Frank, Leo and Annabeth. Frank was on vacation; Annabeth was busy with her architecture in San Francisco and Leo was… dead. So, we thought." Piper explained. She shot a look at Leo who looked away.
Annabeth looked a little uncomfortable, probably because Piper was sharing a lot of information, but she didn't say anything. "We picked up Annabeth, and was going to pick up Frank. Nico said he felt a little weird, but he said he could do it. So, he tried shadow-traveling to Canada, but we ended up in a beach on Palm Springs. Only this time, Frank and Leo were there too. Of course, we had no idea what was going on. Nico seemed pretty drained, and we insisted he rested." Piper said.
Jason continued: "So while he rested, we took turns smacking Leo for scaring the schist out of us." Leo shuddered. "You guys sure know how to treat a guy back from the dead. And, I already sent a message to Festus explaining where I am, and that I'll be back soon. He's waiting for me in San Antonio, so if you hurry up, that'd be splendid." Leo said.
Jason rolled his eyes. "Anyway," Hazel went on. "After Nico felt better, he got ready to shadow travel us to our destination—Fuji mountain in Japan. We told him to take short jumps, but when he tried to shadow-travel again, we ended up in a closet."
A/N: Hey readers! Hope you like this chapter, explains a bit more about the time, place and stuff. So I might post chapter 7 today, too cuz' I have a bunch of free time today.
