Cp 14
We were cold and soaked when we reached camp. Zephyrus was not joking when he said the journey was going to be wet. We landed near the entrance, on top of the hill. The cloud nymphs morphed back into their regular forms. Aurinda crossed her arms. "Alright you dumps have reached your destination." She rolled her eyes and flew back to the wind. Willow looked apologetically at us. "Sorry, Aurinda is a bit…" She winced. Then she waved goodbye and flew off. August looked worried. She stepped forward and took my hands. It felt like newly pressed cotton.
"I have a really bad feeling about this. The 'Lord' must be super powerful to have increased those monsters' powers. Well, I have to get going. Bye, take care of yourself." She gave me a small kiss on my forehead. Before she left, I gripped her wrist. Hard.
"Hey, Augustina, how did you know about the monster's power increasing?" I inquired.
Lilith and Nicki stepped forward. "Yeah, only we knew about that." Lilith argued. The eight took out their weapons. My grip tightened on Augustina. "Care to share with the group?" I leered. The part of her wrist that I was holding onto turned to misty vapor.
"Well, that wasn't supposed to slip out." She commented. "Doesn't matter. You work for that Lord guy, don't you?" Percy probed. Augustin eyes widened. "Oh, gods no, I would never. Zephyrus was the one who informed me about that small detail. The gods know everything after all."
I glance over to the demigods. Annabeth definitely didn't seem convinced. In fact, none of them seemed to fully believe Augustina.
I know she's lying. When she spoke about the gods I could see a small hint of bitterness beneath her innocent act. I kept quiet though.
"Well then, uh, we'll be going." Piper said. "But before we go, could you please tell us the real reason of how you know that information?" She put charmspeak in her voice. Piper's charmspeak was very powerful. I could sense the emotion she put into her voice.
But Augustina replied with the same answer. "I told you, Zephyrus told me this." She simply smiled again. This time I looked closer and noticed a hint of strain in her face. It was very minor, but I caught it.
She was fighting Piper's charmspeak. But how? Unless she was a child of Aphrodite too and was immune to charmspeak. Still, she couldn't have resisted that. Jason and Frank looked defeated. "Ok, well bye August." Hazel waved goodbye.
We all did the same. August flew off. She probably thought she did something, but I know she was lying, I just have to prove it. "Ok, she definitely was lying." Cassie told everyone. Piper nodded. "I could feel there was something wrong with the answer." Nico frowned. "Does that mean she's working with that Lord?"
Leo shrugged. "I don't know guys, but can we please change this villain's name to something else? 'The Lord' is soo boring. How about 'The dumb-villain-who's-gonna-get-his-butt-kicked' instead?" Lilith shook her head with a smile.
"Hmm, it doesn't quite roll of the tongue, does it?" Cassie pointed out. "Can we please talk about this later?" Nicki pleaded. "I need to use the bathroom, and well I don't trust mother nature."
We walked up the hill. Annabeth had her eyebrows scrunched up together and lip pursed. "We need to tell Chiron about this," Percy put an arm around her shoulder. "We will, Wise Girl."
My heart died a bit. It reminded me of when they fell into Tartarus. Now that, that was cruel. But I always knew they would make it out.
We reached the top of the hill and my heart skipped a beat when I saw a dragon curled around a pine tree. Thalia's pine tree. "Peleus," I whispered. It was the most extraordinary creature I had ever seen. My friends must've agreed with me because they stared at the dragon with wide eyes as well.
Peleus had gold scales that reflected in the rising sun. Its eyes were closed, sleeping. A glinting rug caught me off guard. The Golden Fleece. Its shimmering fur shined in the daylight.
"woah." Lilith awed. "Guys, come on," Jason called from farther up the hill. Cassie, Lilith, Nicki and I jogged to catch up.
"Uh so if you need any help navigating your—" Leo offered. "Uh, no offense, but we know this place like the back of our hands." Lilith assured. Leo shrugged. "Alright."
Then we all stepped through the border.
Chiron was ready for us, he greeted us with a smile. "Welcome to Camp Half-Blood."
