News tend to fly fast, nowadays. After the Pizza Plex went trending on the web, there was positive buzz from everyone. Even the children of today's generation wanted to harass their parents into bringing them there. The parents did see it as a good opportunity. The youth of these days like to cling onto their phones, tablets, computers, televisions, and other electronics for entertainment. For the city of Bushnell, a lot of kids felt lucky. Including one kid.

"Gregory!" Ms. Brooks called for her son, as his son Gregory Brooks was getting dressed in his bedroom. Gregory was a young child. Still at the age of 7 and almost short as a giant teddy bear, he was still an adventurous boy. He had short brown hair and eyes, where he usually wears a polo shirt, khaki shorts, and red sneakers. Gregory went out of his bedroom, as his mother was giving some toast to his grandmother, who was wrapped up in a quilt, watching some old programs on the TV. Gregory sat at the short dining room table with a bowl of cereal. Usually, there would be some sports celebrity on the cover of the cereal box, despite the nutritional information on the back showing the contents to be unhealthy. Luckily, Gregory was still in a ripe healthy shape.

"Make sure to slow down when eating, dear." his mother reminded him, as he was eating fast. "I can't. I need to get to school early, since I need to bring back a comic book I borrowed from my friend Jack." Gregory said, as his grandmother chimed up. "I'm glad you still like to read comic books, Gregory."

"My friend Jack mostly likes them."

"Back in my time, we read comic books and we watched movies. Now, it's all on the screen. At least, they didn't get rid of my soap operas. Hehe!" Gregory's grandmother said, as she watched her show. Gregory wasn't interested in whatever his grandmother was watching. It looked like a kid can watch it, but it was too much melodrama. "Good luck at school. Make sure you have your homework." Ms. Brooks told Gregory, as he slipped on his sneakers and had his backpack full of schoolwork, after he finished his breakfast. "I know, Mom! I'll see you after school."

"Love you, sweetie."

"You too." Gregory said, before he left through the front door. He got out his phone to text Jack that he was coming to school. He didn't need to hear a reply. He slipped his phone back into his pocket, as he got onto his bike to ride to school. Gregory attended Farnsworth Elementary with most of the kids in the city. It was within the suburbs of Bushnell, which was easy for a bunch of kids, as they enjoyed riding their bikes, skateboards, or even their scooters there. Gregory parked his bike in the bike rack, as he made sure to get the bike lock on.

Inside of Fransworth, Gregory had 20 minutes before his class started. However, his friend Jack Watson was there in the hallway, as Gregory dug the comic book out of his backpack. "How was Ice Racers? I hadn't gotten the next issue, but I think Agent Rex might already stop Captain Vermin." Jack asked Gregory. Jack was one of Gregory's friends that he hanged out with. He was an African-American kid with short black hair and brown eyes. He usually wears a baseball cap when he's in school or outside, a different cap each week. For this week, he was wearing a cap that showed the red and white symbol of the Utes. He was wearing a t-shirt showing a bunch of superheroes with some blue jeans and similar sneakers as Gregory's.

"I thought the snowboard part was cool. The way he manages to do a backflip over an aerial tram. I hope I didn't rip any pages. My homework is in there, also." Gregory explained to Jack, as he put the comic book away. "I'm just anxious for the new issue. It's supposed to come out next week. You heard the news about Friday?"

"No, is it about the new Pizza Plex?"

"Yeah! Evelyn's dad is supposed to be working there! She said that she's planning on bringing her friend Harper there to celebrate the ear surgery she got, along with some of her other friends on Friday." Jack explained, where Gregory remembered about Harper. "Harper? We all signed some 'Get Well' cards, but I forgot she had to get her ear fixed. No one is coming, right..? Not even Kevin?" Gregory asked, as Kevin was mainly the school bully in Fransworth Elementary. "She isn't bringing Kevin, but she was thinking about allowing Owen to come."

"Owen? But he's a cheater! You and I know it! He cheated at Command Control during lunch. You know how!" Gregory fumed, as some more kids were entering the school. "There's still the chance that she might invite us. I helped Harper with her math homework, but you're in the same class as Evelyn." Jack reminded Gregory, as Gregory did want to admit that things were currently boring at the moment. It was still almost spring soon, but things had became boring a couple of weeks after Christmas break. It stopped snowing a while ago, since the seasons were turning into an early spring.

"There's nothing amazing that's going to happen on Friday. I already finished my video games and we already finished reading the newest comic books." Gregory let out a frustrated grunt, wanting some excitement. "The bell is going to ring soon. I see you at recess, Gregory." Jack said, where Gregory nodded.

Gregory made sure to head to his classroom, as it would be another day at school. He was craving something new. His brain was suffering from a lack of interest in the things that entertained him, however he thought it would be a cool idea to be at the new Pizza Plex. Perhaps, if he got lucky.

However, luck doesn't come so easily. Especially luck that seemed paved with good intentions..

Olivia Ness was at her cubicle, as she was typing at her keyboard during a break. She has been aware of the past red flag reports that she was told about. She was now aware she couldn't just look up gruesome or disturbing stuff on her work computer. Her co-worker Luis was concerned a bit, however Ness was able to lie and tell him everything was fine. However, she wasn't interested in looking up torture or dismemberment or self-compliance. She was checking social media and news article about the Freddy Fazbear's Mega Pizza Plex. She was planning.

Glitchtrap stood next to her, as she was looking information up. There were photos from the online news articles of what the company wanted the public to see. The images mostly contained images from the press conference and tour yesterday, as Liam Foster was visible in most of them. As she was examining the pictures, Glitchtrap immediately warned her of Luis Cabrera was heading up to her cubicle. "He's coming as usual. Act natural."

"Oh, Ness! I see you heard the news about what's happening with the new establishment that our company is opening up! I didn't know you followed Heather Myers?" Luis said naively, where Ness hid her annoyance at him. Luis worked in the same IT department as Ness, however she also had the additional role of being a quality assurance tester for the video games that the company made, along with maintaining information on some reports on development progress. Luis was an innocent man with short brown hair that he kept puffed up in the front with brown eyes and very light brown skin. He wore a red plaid jacket and a black t-shirt with some jeans and black shoes.

"Heather Myers? Sorry, I was just looking at stuff about the new place. My break hasn't ended yet, right?" Ness said, trying to act casual. "Not yet. Luke is planning on giving us a meeting over some stuff, since the company is diverting it's attention onto the rehearsal day Friday."

"Things hadn't been so bad, after we had to relocate here. How's morale around here? Kalpack isn't trying to get Luke to do a crunch schedule? That would be really bad."

"Not that I know of. However, he's here today with that attorney of his. There might be something up happening, but I can't tell much gossip. But I'm glad that you're still in a positive mood after the relocation! Want me to get you some coffee, though?" Luis offered her, though she said that she's planning on getting herself some water later instead. She observed Luis as he went back to his own cubicle. To Olivia, she was the only one who felt different from everyone else at work. To be fair, the office environment was no place for someone like her.

The office was modernized and "hip" with posters of characters related to the company. Buzzwords such as "Sustainability, Professionalism, Community, Equity, and Creativity" were dispatched by some of the more narcissistic and snobby supervisors in the company. However, she was lucky that she had only Luke Richardson as her supervisor and boss. She remembered when the office had a poster that was "official", though another supervisor tried to counter that it was the work of a disgruntled employee, rather than the company itself. The poster had the phrase, "Your life could be worse right now. So get to work or you're fired". It was the worst type of snide.

People were allowed to decorate their cubicles with posters and photos of their families, but Olivia's was still bare. A lot of workers liked to get their lunch at the Snack Space where they sold cold cuts of meat and potato salad. However, there was the All-Mart the same distance near her workplace where some people went to get sandwiches, while they got soft drinks from the vending machines. The break room and the water coolers were the best places to chill at work, as well as mingle with others. Someone thought it would be interesting and "hip" to replace the usual fluorescent bulbs with more flashy bulbs. The result was that the whole ceiling had these light fixtures that looked idiotically tacky.

For Olivia, she felt... happy that she was now different. She was desensitized to her troubles and felt her worries behind her. No anti-anxiety pills or poison to ingest. No longer feeling like a nervous wreck where the world felt grey and meaningless. No longer being reminded of the screw-ups of her past to feel depressed. It was all because she met him. He was there right now at the cubicle, leaning against the wall as she smiled at him.

He did have a name, however he allowed her to refer to him as "Glitchtrap". She remembered how she met him. It was during a time at her old workplace, when she was assigned to beta test the game. She thought it was fun to be in VR, but there was something sinister happening around that time. Some people in the Research and Development division of the company were busy cutting some corners under approved orders. They had found some old animatronics and discovered that the circuit boards within them could be re-used. They just had to polish and fix them, then do a scan to get their data. Reduce, reuse, and recycle. Some of the old circuit boards were given to a game development company called Silver Parasol Games to develop The Freddy Fazbear Virtual Experience, where Fazbear Entertainment would publish it.

Unfortunately, something went wrong. There were several circuit boards that contained a virus that afflicted both Ness's workplace and the people over at Silver Parasol Games. The IT department, along with Ness were hard at work with whatever the hell were messing with their systems. It wasn't like any malware they ever seen. The damn thing knew how to avoid their antivirus and nearly weaponize it. Despite getting the situation under control, whatever came from the boards ended up in the beta version of the Virtual Experience game. It gotten into the game's code and created itself into a reflection of one's self. It became Glitchtrap.

Glitchtrap was smart. His first victim was a play tester from Silver Parasol Games named Jeremy. He needed a host, however he wasn't lucky with Jeremy. The poor man went mad. He knew what Glitchtrap was doing to him. Silver Parasol saw what was happening to Jeremy, but they were unaware that it had to do with the game. It got to the point where Jeremy took his own life. They found him dead at work, having sliced off his own face with a paper cutter.

The news of Jeremy's death was a major red flag for Fazbear Entertainment, as they knew that something must have happened during the development, where they managed to make the connection. They knew that something would happen that would be bad for their own company, so they managed to take advantage of a lawsuit for Jeremy's death, citing that Silver Parasol Games fails to monitor their own employees from harm. This was a major hypocritical moment, as the higher-ups in Fazbear Entertainment never cared for the safety of their employees or even their own customers.

This lawsuit might have been the reason and motive for the email leak to the development team of Silver Parasol. The emails explained the real reasons for the development of the VR game, as the company had gotten sick of the bad press, which would make sense, since they were prepping a comeback. By dismissing the horror stories as fiction, created by some "complete lunatic", despite said "complete lunatic" being a famous indie developer who made his video games based around the Freddy Fazbear's franchise, they would garner positive buzz from their game.

Fazbear Entertainment practically forced Silver Parasol to finish up development of the game and deal with whatever they were facing. One woman was able to encounter Glitchtrap, aware of the entity as a malicious AI. She tried to fix the problem by making tapes physically into the game to document her findings. However, Glitchtrap managed to attach his malicious code onto the tapes themselves, making sure it could manifest when one collected them. The woman tried to stop this problem, but it was too late. She managed to find a way to cause a hard restart to the game to flush the memory to get rid of it. However, before she could finalize it would permanently kill it, Fazbear Entertainment forced the game's development into the hands of another company, while discrediting Silver Parasol Games for their "work conditions".

This is where Olivia Ness came into play. Ness had started work at Fazbear Entertainment a couple of months ago, however she was assigned the role of a beta tester for the game. While to Ness, it seemed like she got to play the game to check for bugs, in reality the company needed to figure out the cause of the troubles that have been plaguing the game. It took her a while, however she ended up becoming the first one to encounter Glitchtrap.

Despite getting the chance to escape, Glitchtrap managed to get to her first..

As more play testers were taking note of Glitchtrap, the company finally realized the problem. Ness didn't know who they sent to help with the game, however she realized it was someone who had almost superior technological knowledge. Whoever they were, they knew how to get rid of Glitchtrap and it's influence without directly removing him from the game. They managed to stabilize the actual game code itself by trapping the malicious code into an invalid player input. Had the code not been stabilized, anyone who couldn't do the hard restart could have ended up like Ness or possibly worse. Now that the main problem was out of the way, all the company had to do now was pretend that the game had a "meta-story" into the plot, as an excuse to explain the strange bunny mascot. There was only one problem though.

Ness still kept a copy of the beta, which still kept the malicious code.

Ness was at the water cooler with her mind daydreaming, until Glitchtrap snapped her awake. "Act natural." Glitchtrap immediately said to Ness, as she looked down at the paper cup she held. She accidently overfilled it and some water dripped onto the carpet. "Oh dear, I'm too clumsy." Ness said to herself, as she made sure to drink her water to make sure none more slipped. Olivia was about to head back to her cubicle, until she eavesdropped on a conversation between two workers. They were mentioning someone who she heard was talked about before, but the subject was different.

"Did they ever find a reason for why he decided to kick the bucket?"

"Keep your voice down. You're speaking ill of the dead here."

"Matt was a complete ass####! He was an arrogant prick! I heard what Jamie thought of him."

"Again. Keep your voice down. People don't know if it was really a suicide or a murder."

"The fact that he decided to cut his own stomach open?"

"Yeah...that part raises eyebrows. No suicide note either."

"The company said it was suicide, though. Didn't they?"

"The police said it also. How was Springtrap's Revenge, though? The DLC to the VR game wasn't good. Curse of Dreadbear was better than Springtrap's Revenge."

"Well, I think we don't have to worry about any more VR stuff for a while. That AR game should do us justice."

Olivia Ness finished listening in, as she took a glimpse at Glitchtrap. "Why do I have a feeling you had something to do with that, Glitchtrap?" Ness thought to herself, which Glitchtrap heard. "I don't recall the name. Hmm.. Nope. Never heard of him." Glitchtrap said, but there was the strangest feeling that he wasn't being honest with Olivia.

After heading back to her cubicle and making sure that Luis wasn't around the corner, she continued her usual work on her computer, until her supervisor announced the meeting. Luke Richardson, as Ness's supervisor and boss, was in control of the offices near the Pizza Plex location. He was visible on Ness's monitor as part of the conference call, which he adjusted his red tie. He was a young man with some neat hair and some stubble. He was way friendlier and more of a better boss than that of Kalpack, who was ironically Luke's boss.

"Alright. Everyone's here?" Luke said, as the conference call started. Workers were confirming their arrival, making sure their webcams were on. "Good on this end." Ness said. "Everyone's good? Ok, let's get down into specifics for this month. We have been getting the sales in a steady pace, where the numbers are of the same as last month. The latest update to our VR game has mixed reviews, but right now it's the AR Rental Service game we're trying to get the sale numbers on."

Usually, in conference calls like these, the boss wouldn't mind if you're daydreaming, however Ness needed to look professional to act normal. She didn't feel normal then, but she needed to keep her guise of acting normal now. Perhaps she can learn something interesting.

"We're planning on starting development on the new set of animatronics for the game a while after the Freddy Fazbear Mega Pizza Plex opens, hence why your relocation towards this area was important. For your new work assignment, we're granting you exclusive access to the new Glamrock animatronics. You can call this a holiday that we are granting you. You and your families can attend the rehearsal day and any day after that when it's open, so you can monitor the new animatronics. Don't just take it as a plain vacation, however. We need you to get information on how to make our augmented reality more immersive, which in turn why I need you to see what makes the animatronics immersive." Luke explained, despite the fact that most of the workers currently at the Bushnell location didn't really have any families to bring to the Pizza Plex.

Ness thought it over for a moment. "They having us go backstage. They might let me get close enough to the animatronics, so I can rewire them.. That could work.." Ness thought to herself for Glitchtrap to hear. Ness pretend to smile, as she let herself listen to the rest of Luke's monologue. To be fair, it was easy to ignore what else Luke was saying, until he concluded with saying, "I expect you all to be diligent as always. Things are tough for now, however we can still make the best out of things."

Ness continued her usual work, until she heard some chatter from outside of her cubicle. She recognized another co-worker named Roger, that happened to like to dress himself in pastel colors, who was offering people some coffee drinks. However, they were a weird color. Of blue and pink? Ness didn't know what to react, however Roger went up to Ness next. "Hello, Ness! Don't accuse me of being a copycat, but I remembered those rainbow extensions you have, so I figured I give people some more color. Want a Cosmic Mango Creme Latte? Unicorn food is getting popular again." Roger offered her. "Thanks. I thought I had something like this back half a decade ago, but I do feel like having rainbows and butterflies in my stomach." Ness said, giving a smile to Roger before continuing to her work.

She took a sip of her drink. There was already tons of sugar. She might as well brush her teeth thrice today.

Ness finished up for the day, as everyone seemed like they wanted to get the hell out of there. Ness didn't have any overtime to do, but she wanted to get back home to her apartment to practice cutting up more dummies. However, she noticed someone familiar. Wasn't that..? It was Emma Ross. It was Luke's boss's attorney! She was heading somewhere towards where Luke's office was. "Follow her." Glitchtrap demanded, where Ness had the same idea already. She tailed Ross to Luke's office, where Ness kept some distance from the office by leaning against the wall and simply pretending to check her phone to browse social media.

In Luke's office, he saw Emma Ross enter, where he allowed her to sit down at his chair. "Ms. Ross. Kalpack sent me details for our next updates for the AR game. We're already sending our workers to the Pizza Plex to know how the new set of Glamrock animatronics are immersive." Luke said, as Ross got our her dossier to take out a slip of paper and a fancy sport fountain pen made out of aluminum. "Richardson. This doesn't concern game development, but it concerns an issue that will arise in an event of an accident." Ross explained, where Luke skimmed through the paper.

"A non-disclosure agreement?"

"Kalpack has reason to believe that due to some corners being cut, the new set of animatronics are bound to experience a glitch in the system that can cause an event, damaging the reputation of the company. Should that happen, you are to drop and remove any mention of the event in your upcoming games, even among interest from the public." This was rather an ironic and hypocritical thing for Ross to say, as Kalpack was one of the higher ups to recommend corner cutting in terms of game development.

"But the next release isn't bound to be added to the game until a sizable time gap. We had just finished the Medieval update for some of our characters. We're not going to have the Glamrock animatronics on the game for a couple of months. Plus, don't forget about the crunch hours-"

"I understand your concerns, Richardson. However, they are unrelated to what Kalpack is addressing. Even if you don't release the Glamrock set, you still are to remove the content, should any major incident or event occur that will require their removal from the game to avoid negative buzz."

"Ok.. But I was never had an issue addressed like this directed towards me. Isn't that for those at Fazbear Entertainment?"

"Just sign the agreement, Richardson." Ross gave him the fountain pen, where Luke gave his signature. "It's done." "Very good, Richardson. I believe your employees will also not tamper with the animatronics, as they are considered company property. I shall see myself out." Ross said, leaving the office as Luke assumed nothing of what Ross had him sign.

Ness was still staring at her phone, pretending not to tail Ross, as she was starting to leave the office. "I don't know what she's up to, Glitchtrap."

"You don't know? You know about your boss's supervisor. Kalpack, was it?"

"Kalpack is a prick. Even my boss Luke knows it."

"Perhaps we can do some practice. You had done well with inanimate objects, but we need to step it up."

Olivia wanted to say it was wrong. But she couldn't disagree with him. No. He was right. She had been playing it safe. She was meant to be fearless. She needed to be feared. She had a knife. That was a weapon. She can find someone to kill. Maybe Kalpack. Whatever he was. He had to be near. He wouldn't be in town without his lawyer. She seen him with that lawyer of his. Maybe..

Maybe Ethan Kalpack would be good for a first victim. Lots of people didn't like him. Ness didn't know any living relatives who would grieve for his death. Yes. That was what she needed to do. She was about to giggle, until she suddenly saw another worker Judy with a visible box of cigarettes that she was planning to most likely smoke outside. "Oh! Judy! You don't look so well. Are you under the weather?" Olivia said, wanting to cheer up Judy. However, Judy worked for the company as probably one of the worst jobs ever. Customer Service. Whatever joy Judy had on her first day on the company was forever gone. Now, she was a cynical shell of her former self. The pay wasn't good for her, either. Ness probably knew that Judy envied her for her role in the company, but she still wanted to be friends with her. Even if Judy wanted to blow her brains out.

"I'm going to the bar. Some of the others are going, but I'm going to need something to get me numb." Judy said in a voice that was apathetic, yet still like she was pissed off. "I'm good. Also, speaking of numb, do you happen to know anything about that stun gun you brought to work? I know it was in your purse, but I've been thinking of going outside at night and I don't think it's safe. Do you know where I can buy one? For protection?" Ness said, as Judy raised an eyebrow. "What do you need a stun gun at night for?"

"It's for a screenplay I'm doing and I'm scouting spots in Bushnell."
"I got mine from the internet."

"I want to buy one without waiting for shipping, though."

"They sell stun guns at the sporting goods store and at gun stores. Just ask them and they will know." Judy said, as she walked past Ness, almost to which Ness felt like she annoyed Judy. Ness wanted to get a stun gun to incapacitate people. She had looked up information on chloroform, however she found it was too suspicious to gain some, along with the fact that there was actually a risk on people suffocating from the stuff, due to being unconscious. A stun gun can make a person feel helpless, due to being stunned and shocked. That was something that Ness decided would be the best course of action.

Ness left work later that day, as she went back to her apartment. Her roommate Vanessa was reading something that she got printed, which had the Fazbear Entertainment logo on it. "What you reading there?" Ness said, as she went to the kitchen from the front door to grab a snack. "I'm checking in for work tomorrow. It's a pamphlet and some info on what to do tomorrow." Vanessa said, being invested. "That sounds good! I don't know much about the place, but I've been reading articles online and things were much bigger than anticipated. They allowing us to head there to research the new animatronics for a game update." Ness said, wanting to act casual.

"How's things at your company? Didn't you say you do video games?" Vanessa asked, as she looked interested at Ness's occupation. "Well, people are just a little.. disorganized at the moment. However, my boss wants us to use the opportunity to have some fun with our new location. I just wish people understand that, though." Ness said, looking a bit down. "You know, I think I'm lucky, because I'm still feeling happy even if the company had to do some quirks to get going."

"How do you think things will be like for my first night at the job? I don't know how things will be for registration. Do you think I should just keep my hair neat, or you think I should let it loose without the ponytail?" Vanessa asked Ness to give her opinion. "I think the hair looks nice. However, I think you should get some color on you. Maybe.. on your nails!" Ness said, noticing the lack of color on Price's nails. "You have nail polish?"

"Yeah! I know the perfect color! People will like it! It will help you stand out." Ness explained, as she went into her bathroom to grab her makeup kit. Ness helped Vanessa on the couch in a suitable position, so Ness can do the nails without screwing up. "I think you would look good with purple nails, actually. I know not everyone likes purple, but for me, it suits a lot of things." Ness explained, as Vanessa looked at the color. "It might actually suit me." Vanessa smiled, as Ness started to apply the nail polish onto Vanessa's fingernails with the small brush.

Olivia had some conflicting thoughts about Vanessa. There was this charm that Vanessa had that struck Ness with interest. She didn't seem to be easily bothered. She wanted to find out how she ticked. Her innocence made Ness want to corrupt her. Break her down to see what would happen. However, she saw her as someone who she can be used as a friend and an ally to help her. Maybe if she would convince her to put the VR headset on, maybe Glitchtrap will turn her into a slave like Ness. There is potential in her. An opportunity. She said she worked as a nightguard. She can convince her that she needs to stay overnight at the Pizza Plex to make sure she knew how the Glamrock animatronics were meant to function.

Yet, Olivia knew that something was wrong.

No. Nothing's wrong.

He's right. But Olivia knew that she was creating a connection with Vanessa. She was someone that can be used as a friend. Someone she can relate to. That's what people do. She was her roommate. She didn't know if Vanessa had friends. She might be lonely. Be lonely like Ness. She want to give compassion, even if Ness might end up brainwashing her and tape ducting her to a chair until she was compliant. She remembered about her co-worker Luis. She knew that Luis was attracted to her. He was probably social awkward, but she was once awkward also. Things just switched around. Luis probably wanted Olivia to come to the bar after work, or maybe he can buy her lunch. It wasn't that she didn't feel love towards Luis, but she didn't really know how to proceed. A boy never asked her out. Glitchtrap was helping her. She knew this. He knew this.

"Alright, all done!" Ness said, as she finished with Vanessa's fingernails. "Make sure you wait for them to dry. Should take a hour." "Wow, thanks Olivia! The color looks better than I expected.." Vanessa said, looking at her nails in a jovial manner. "Like I said. I see purple has a habit of suiting everything." Ness smiled, seeing that Vanessa was happy. Maybe it was ok to be like this. Glitchtrap was helping her well. She was more sociable. People can trust her. She felt less sick.

Later when the sun went down in the city, Olivia Ness had finished eating dinner and was putting on her trench coat and a black cloak to act as a hood. She was also putting some other things on her. She was slipping blue rubber gloves that were meant to be used for cleaning, however she slipped a large knife on her in a makeshift sheath on a leather belt. She went to her closet to take a look at the white rabbit costume she had. She couldn't go around in the middle of the city wearing it. She would need to change somewhere quiet. Plus, she needed to do some more "practice". She grabbed some contact lenses that could change her eye color, which she got to work on putting them over her eyes in her bathroom. Her eyes were now a shade of pale blue, as she blinked briefly. She grabbed her mask also, as she peeked out of the bathroom to look down into the living room. Vanessa was in her bedroom, as Ness knew that she was ready. She got her keys, as she unlocked the door. "Vanessa! I'm going out for a moment to meet with a co-worker. I'll be back later tonight!" Ness shouted to Vanessa, as she opened the door. "Ok!" Vanessa yelled back, as Ness left her apartment. She took the elevator down, as she ignored Carl at the front desk, who wasn't even paying attention to her. He was simply busy reading the newspaper.

The night was cold, as Ness exited Elkwood Lofts. The city looked different when it was dark. It wasn't raining, but the black sky was full of clouds. Ness could take her car, but she wanted to walk. Glitchtrap walked with her, as she pulled out her mask, which she kept hidden in the inside of her trench coat. She made sure the hood was up from her cloak, as she put on her rabbit mask.

"Come, Vanny. We need to scope out the Pizza Plex. The more we plan, the better." Glitchtrap said, as a change of persona happened with Ness. She wasn't Olivia, nor Ness currently. She was simply Vanny.

As a cold wind blew past her, Vanny walked down the dark streets, as there were barely any people around. Some of them probably knew how things were at this time of night for this week. A lone police cruiser moved past Vanny on the road, as she kept walking. She pulled out her phone, as she looked up a map on where the Pizza Plex was supposed to be. A long walk. It was near the edge of the city. It wasn't a problem. She could drive somewhere to park her car, then walked what was left for another night, but for now, she was just walking. This part of the city wasn't rundown, but there was still the chance to encounter some unpleasant looking people.

As she walked, she started to remember the time of when she first met Glitchtrap.

It was after the company fixed the game. However, even after she took off the VR headset, she started to see him everywhere she went. At first, she was scared. She was getting anxious. She was starting to feel worse. The pills she was taking for her anxiety were not helping her anymore. They just felt like poison. But that was what they were. Poison. Poison to rot her mind. She was starting to feel less scared. She got used to him to which he was getting more close to her.

She remembered when he introduced himself to her. Telling her that all of her problems can go away. He helped her, she knew. How he told her that all of the things that has been numbing her have been making herself worse. How he showed her that some people were just rubbing salt in her wounds. At first, she felt different. She started to be fascinated by violence and gore. Ironic, considering how she hated the sight of blood. However, the more Glitchtrap let her look at all of this brutal content, she realized that it felt good. The thought of slicing someone in half. Watching a human being being tortured. She got careless at first by looking stuff at work, leading to red flag reports. Glitchtrap helped convince her on what lies to give to people.

Yet, as Ness felt happy, she still saw that what was happening to her was wrong. She snapped out of it for a moment at work. Typing simply "help" on her keyboard, until Glitchtrap propped her back into place. Glitchtrap didn't understand why Ness was trying to fix herself when she was feeling better and new. How he was feeding her these disturbing and intrusive thoughts, then having her look up bees and flowers.

In the end, Olivia Ness suddenly understood it all. For Glitchtrap had given the gift of enlightenment.

Vanny ended up getting a glimpse of the large building at the distance. She can see the neon sign and wonders of the Pizza Plex on the outside. How big was the whole building? It was definitely the size of a mall. "How did they even get the money for all of this?" Vanny thought, as Glitchtrap gave a suggestion. "I wouldn't be surprised if they borrowed it from the city. They are corrupt, you know."

Vanny went closer to the building, as she saw how there were some men outside the entrance. Who were they? They were wearing some heavy jackets. Vanny took the guess that they were some hired security. They weren't wearing any uniforms. However, she can see several folding tables and balloons in the midst of being set up at the parking lot. The registration. So that was how they were going to do it. It wasn't until she saw a man exiting the Pizza Plex, accomplished by another of the hired guards. She couldn't make him out. However, unaware to Vanny, it was Mason Gray. Whatever the reason he was there, they kicked him out. He went to his black car, as he drove away. Vanny kept to the shadows, as she watched the car drive away.

"It's too guarded to break in. We might have to wait until we're allowed in."

"Unfortunately, yes. We can't draw attention. It's best you head home. I might have a possible solution, but we need to know more." Glitchtrap said, as Vanny started to walk back home. She was able to scope the place out, however she needed to get floor plans or a map. Perhaps from Vanessa when she heads to work. However, she couldn't risk anything.

As she was walking home, she was walking by an alley, until she felt two beefy hands grab her and drag her into the alley. The next thing she knew, someone slammed her face against the wall, pinning her. "Alright, bitch! Get the money out, so I can make this quick!" a man said, as Vanny realized that this greasy character that had her pinned was trying to mug her. She immediately shrugged, but the man shoved her, causing her hood to fall from her cloak. The mugger can see her rainbow extensions, but they were confused on what she was wearing on her face. "What is this? Halloween?"

Vanny immediately giggled, as the mugger was getting out a pocket knife. "What's so funny?" "Funny?" Vanny felt the man's loosen her grip on her, allowing her to turn around to face the mugger. He looked like a thug. A callous thug. He thought she was easy pickings, but he made a mistake. This was probably his first time robbing somewhere. As an added insult, Vanny didn't even have her wallet on her. "You would just be here at night? Attacking a hare like me?" Vanny said, as the expression on her mask was frozen.

"Bitch, I'm not going to ask again! Give me your ####ing money or I slice your throat open!" the mugger demanded, but Vanny kept giggling which started to turn into laughter. "First time?"

"Huh?" the mugger said, as Vanny reached towards her belt, where her knife was in her sheath. "Don't worry. I understand. This is my first time, also!" Vanny said, where the mugger wanted to say something, but he was silenced as he got a blade of stainless steel jabbed into his chest. Vanny looked at his expression as he was in pain and fear. Vanny immediately stabbed him again, as she leaned close to him. She got a huff of his breath. Reeked of tobacco. The mugger tried to reach his hand with the pocket knife he was holding, but he dropped it onto the ground, the knife bouncing once. "A pocket knife wouldn't do you good." Vanny said, as she twisted the knife.

The mugger fell to the ground, his eyes wide open. Vanny realized what she done. She couldn't help but laugh, until Glitchtrap popped up to her range of vision to calm her down. "There can still be people around. Get rid of the body now." Glitchtrap demanded, as Vanny went down to loot the man. She might as well mug him, when she was at it. There was some dollar bills in his pocket, which she took. His shirt was completely bleeding now. She noticed the dumpster nearby, which she opened the metallic cover. The man was still heavy, however. It took a while to get him in there. She had to get as little blood on her. Her gloves were a mess. Specks and spots of blood were covered on her blue gloves and on the blade of her knife. There was a smudge of blood on the rim of the dumpster, but she didn't want to smear it off. She did make sure to throw the mugger's knife into the dumpster as well.

Vanny left the alley, as she had slipped her blade back into her sheath. She was going to wash the blade off somewhere. Maybe at home. However, she noticed an All-Mart nearby. She could use the restroom and look like a civilian. She removed her gloves and stuffed them into her trench coat with her mask. She was in a daze, but her mind was on autopilot. She needed to not look suspicious. She entered the All-Mart, as she nodded to the worker behind the desk. A teenager doing part-time. She nodded at him, before she entered the bathroom. As filthy as the bathroom was, it was a good part to take a breather. Vanny looked at herself in the mirror. Not a thing of blood on her. Only a grin on her face that looked more contorted and crazed, where she let out another gigglefest.

It was probably the first time she had killed someone. She didn't feel remorse. Maybe she did, but she wasn't feeling it. Glitchtrap was in the reflection with her. He soothed her, making sure there wasn't a janitor with a mop outside. "How did it feel? Do you feel empty?" "He felt warm. I feel some relief." Vanny said, looking down at her shoes quick. There was a spot of blood, but it was tiny enough to be unnoticeable. She started to wash things she had on her. She got out the gloves, having put them inside out, where she had them soak in the sink. She pulled out the knife, as she rinsed it while making sure not to cut herself. She tossed the soaked gloves in a small trashcan full of used tissues and other nasties, before she put the blade back into the sheath. She also made sure to take out her contact lenses, disposing them the same way as her gloves. Now, she was just who she usually is. Just Olivia Ness.

She exited the bathroom, feeling neutral. She might as well get herself something to not piss the convenience store worker off by just using the restroom. There was some food that could be brought at the desk. Hot dogs, slushies, taquitos. She saw how there were these large fried mozzarella cheese shaped like stars called Sheriff's. "I take two of those, please." Ness said, as the worker put the stars into the microwave oven. "That will be $3.50 with tax." the worker said, where Ness pulled out a bill, making sure to get some change back. The worker handed her the cheese stars with some napkins, where he commented on the cloak that Ness had. "You're dressing like Robin Hood, by the way?"

"I just didn't have time to find my hoodie." Ness said with a smile.

Ness arrived back home, as Carl was no longer at the front desk. Most likely resting somewhere. Ness took the elevator back up, as she finished off her cheese star. She already had dinner, but she needed a bit of a midnight snack before bed. The extra cheese star was if Vanessa was interested. She could keep it in the fridge for her to have later. Ness unlocked the door and entered the apartment. The living room and the rest of the apartment was dark, however there was a light from Vanessa's bathroom.

Ness slipped her trench coat and cloak off, as she went to her room. However, the door to Vanessa's bathroom was open. She decided to peek to see what was going on. While she was still in the darkened hallway, she could see Vanessa standing in front of her mirror. She was dressed in a sleeveless nightgown, though Vanessa was simply staring at the mirror. She hovered her hand over her face, as Ness watched. It was strange for Ness. Why was she doing this? Vanessa didn't look apathetic, either. She looked more puzzled. Like she had an out of body experience. Not wanting to look like a creep, Ness spoke.

"Vanessa?" Vanessa heard Ness speak, as she turned to the open door. Ness was standing there, confused. "Ness, you're back?"

"Sorry. I was a bit up later than usual. It's 11 PM, isn't it?" Ness said, as she noticed that Vanessa was looking at the trench coat and cloak folded in her hands. "I'm just unchanging a bit. I was about to head into my bedroom, but I noticed that you were still up." Ness further asked.

"I just had a weird dream. I might need a gummy, if you have any."

"Melatonin? I don't have some, sorry."

"No need to apologize. It could be just some jitters for tomorrow. I have to get there early."

"It's ok." Ness said, as she excused herself. "I brought a snack before I got here. It's in the fridge, if you need it for a work break. Fried cheese, if you don't mind." Ness explained, where Vanessa gave a small smile. "I take a look at it in the morning." Vanessa said, as Ness went into her bedroom to rest.

She put her trench coat and cloak away. She got out her mask, as she took a look at it. A smile crept on her face, as Ness laid on her bed, exhausted. Fragments of her crime was all she thought. Glitchtrap stood next to her, as he looked at her on the bed. He leaned down, as Ness relaxed her body. "You did well, Vanny." Glitchtrap said, even if Ness couldn't tell his emotions, due to him wearing that mask of his. Yet, his eyes glowed violet.

Author's Notes: You want to know something funny? Remember how I mentioned that Vanny's appearance was interesting, since I had to dig around in fanart to find a suitable appearance. Luis was a tough one.. To give some context, the ones I picked up were good, however for some reason, I couldn't find the original artists who I wanted to give credit to. Then after tweaking his character a bit, I figured the best solution was to credit everyone I came across for Luis.

I give credit to the people of Tumblr in no certain order (akiirama, newfruitymaze, taikochann) along with enderrdream (who showed 6 icons, two of them belong to the former two, however the other 4 artists were unable to be found, so ender will be credited for keeping the icons on a compilation post).

And no, Gregory Brooks isn't related to Michael Brooks from the novel trilogy. It's just a coincidence, if anyone is curious.

You REALLY want to know something funny? So I officially declare this fan fiction a complete AU to the real Security Breach that is meant to be released later this year. Why? Well, I just saw the new gameplay trailer where I took some notes. I did research on what a family entertainment center would usually have, where I saw go-karts as one of the things mentioned. It was interesting, because I thought that would be too much for the Pizza Plex, since I was planning on having a small amusement park inside the mall. But I guess go-karts are canon.

Also, this is important. The Glamrock animatronics are going to be different in this story than in what is possibly going to be the final result of the game! I will explain so in the next chapter, but for now.. To which I shall say this to someone important.

God damn it, William Afton.

Update: I noticed a mistake with some character's names, so I had to do some fixing up. Also, I wanted to give a shout out to an interesting someone called Edd Pilgrim, also known as CrushingPop for their animatic song videos of the game series, which I recommend you watch!
