"Alright, you spider crawling freak.. You better not be tearing up my favorite jungle gym.."
Montgomery Gator was heading to his own slice of paradise of the Gator Golf, as he had a feeling that Music Man was going to tear it up. While he wasn't 100% sure, it wasn't until he arrived at the entrance was when he saw that a large metal gated shutter was blocking the entrance to the golf course. No way for that spidery musician to get in. What was still evident was the faint marks scattered around the front of the Gator Golf. Marks that were in blood left to dry.
The marks would lead somewhere else, but Monty was curious on why that spider animatronic was near the Gator Golf. It wasn't until he heard... a music box? It was echoing near him, but he could tell that it came from nearby. "Ok, I don't have time for horror stories.." Monty listened in for the source of the noise, where he noticed that it was coming from beyond the shutter and at the lobby of the Gator Golf. Monty leaned towards the shutter, as he scanned the lobby. Until...
Almost like a critter out of water, something scurried by a planter in the lobby and appeared in front of Monty from the shutter. "What the...?!"
It was the spider animatronic! Well, it was...small now? It was the size of a toy, where it looked dirty and broken. It's mouth had teeth that were missing, or simply cracked and damaged. It clashed its cymbals together, as it let out a kid-like laugh at Monty, before it ran off deeper into the golf course. "Oh no, you don't! Monty yelled, as he angrily tried to get the shutter up. He had to bend down, as he used his strength to get the shutter up. He didn't need to break a sweat to get it up, though Monty would've wanted to make a note on what things he could be able to lift and get out of the way.
"I'm not letting that spider running away in MY golf course! When I get my hands on that thing, I-" Monty wanted to say more, but suddenly he felt another wave of pain. He immediately clutched his head, as he had a splitting headache, as his jaw was left hanging, before the pain faded away.
"What was that?" Monty was still confused on what he had experienced. His sunglasses nearly fell from his face, as he kept them eye level as usual. "Ughh.. It shouldn't be an issue. I got bigger fish to fry here. Now, where did that thing go? I think a club might be good for extermination." Monty thought, as he entered the lobby. The staff bot at the sign-up table was still there. He ignored him after a last visit, but since he wasn't alone, he might have some company to help.
"Hey, you seen any spiders roaming around?" Monty asked the staff bot, but it didn't seem to be aware of Monty's problem. "Hello, sir. The golf course is closed at the moment, please come back later in.. 5 hours.."
"I don't care about time, I want to know if you seen spiders!"
"Monitoring guest history... History complete. Current guest total at the moment is one." the staff bot said, as Monty got himself a club. "This should be easy. I got to smash that spider, then I can meet up with Freddy and the others to find some night workers." Monty said, as he entered the main golf course. What Montgomery didn't know was that he wasn't alone in the golf course. It wasn't just a spider that he had to worry about. What he didn't realize was that somewhere near the Gator Grub, the snack bar of the golf course, a set of double doors leading underground had managed to become busted open.
Something from below was about to come up. They were hostile and lacked any of the emotions that Montgomery had.
Montgomery looked around his jungle of a mini golf course, as the green fake trees and the carpets gave a disorienting experience that he was well used to. At the far back, he can see a hologram version of himself on a stage, which was meant for small concerts for the gator himself. Monty already recalled playing on the stage, though he seemed to remember little else.
"Come out wherever you are.." Montgomery muttered, as he held the golf club like a baseball bat, looking around the golf course. There was so much foliage, that it would be difficult to look everywhere from one spot. There was some fake shacks made for the golf course that one can enter, though there was a prop tour bus and cabin in the middle of the place.
He was approaching the cabin, until-
DING
He felt something at his knee. It wasn't painful, but something just hit his leg. There was another ding, as Monty looked down to see a young kid with a baseball cap and a golf club. "Did you just hit me?" Monty said, more out of annoyance than anger. "W-wait! I'm sorry! I really am!" Jack said, as he was surprised to see his idol giving him a glare for beating a club at his legs.
"You making dents on my legs?"
"It wasn't like that! I thought you were coming after me, Monty!" Jack said, as Montgomery raised a metal eyebrow. "Who's after you? Why did you think I'm here to chase you? How are you even here? You need to get to sleep! It's past your bedtime!" Montgomery needed to know an answer. "There was this spider creature that separated us! I don't know what happened to my friend Gregory, but the others got left behind!"
"So that spider is running around here!" Montgomery now knew that Music Man was near the Monty Golf. But the biggest question is on the random toy-like spider that managed to get into the golf course. Was it related?
"How big was this spider? Small or big? What did it look like, despite having 8 legs?" Montgomery quizzed Watson. "It was big... like much bigger than you... It had cymbals in it's hands.. It had this big mouth, too.." Jack wanted to explain more, until the two heard the sound of a horn being played, as they saw the toy Music Man scutter near them. "There it is!" Montgomery said, as he got his club ready to take a swing at it. "It looked like that, but it was much bigger!" Jack said, as Montgomery chased after the toy spider. "I'm not letting a web be formed in my golf course!" Montgomery managed to get close to the toy spider, even as it was trying to get away. Montgomery got his swinging arm ready, as he took a heavy swing...
...sending the toy Music Man through the trees and bushes, where a mechanical shatter was heard.
"Is it gone?" Jack asked Montgomery. "I didn't squash the spider, but this is close."
Suddenly, there was a sound of footsteps behind the foliage that had obscured both Jack and Montgomery's vision. "Who was that?" "Shh!" Montgomery said, as he heard some more footsteps. It wasn't just at the front of them, it sounded like they were circling them. Montgomery turned to look for an opening in the foliage on what was stalking them. A brief shadow that darted back into the bushes, as there was a rustle of the trees and bushes around them. "I thought you got the spider!?"
"I did! Who the heck is there!? Come on out!" Montgomery kept Jack behind him, as he got his golf club ready. White glowing dots can be seen behind some leaves, as Montgomery gripped the club tight. "Get your club ready!" Montgomery told Jack, as something was coming out of the bush in front of the duo. Even Montgomery seemed baffled at this new threat that he did not take into account.
"Who...?"
It was a Staff Bot, but something was completely wrong with it. It appeared to be an older model, as this is the first time that Montgomery saw a Staff Bot...with legs? Even mouths!? There were small screw like teeth on it's mouth, as it's grin was stuck in a demented smile on it's rusty white body and bright white eyes. Jack immediately hid behind Montgomery's legs, as the gator made sure the child was safe. "Hey buddy, you're scaring the kid! I don't know what your problem is, but I suggest you leave!" Montgomery demanded at the bot, until several more rusty bots emerged from the bushes. The cabin was still nearby, as Monty saw it as a brief shelter for Jack. "Kid... get in the cabin... I don't like the looks of this." Montgomery whispered to Jack, as the rusty bot closest to them straight to point a rusty finger at them. If the bots didn't scare the duo, the thought of tetanus would unnerve adults, if they encountered these mechanical monsters.
Jack immediately ran into the entrance of the cabin, which conveniently didn't have any windows. Montgomery got his club ready for a swing, as he blocked the entrance to the cabin. "This is my final warning! You buzz off or I make things hurt!" Montgomery yelled, until there was a cacophony of screams that Jack was glad that he didn't hear when he was out of the cabin. It wasn't just a cacophony of screams. It was a war cry.
AHHHHHHHH! AHHHHHHHHHH! AHHHHHHHHHHH!
The demented bots started to rush towards Montgomery, as he swung his club at the first bot that was at the lead. Surprisingly, the upper body of the bot was turned into nuts and bolts, the moment Montgomery took a swing at them. They were lots of them, but they were luckily weak and flimsy. "I said get back!" Montgomery took another swing at another, when it tried to scratch Monty with it's fingers, though Monty was quick to counter. "Kid, stay in the cabin!" Montgomery yelled as a reminder, as another demented bot started to piggyback on Monty's back. Monty started to send himself back, as he shoved himself against another bot, pushing it over, where he managed to nab another with his own crocodile tail. "Get off!" Montgomery jerked his body, as the demented bot that got a free ride had now got a free ride flying toward a palm tree, hitting it and becoming disabled.
Several of the demented bots started to get dibs at trying to get in the fake cabin, where Jack was hiding, as he was immediately cornered. "Monty, help!" Jack screamed, as Monty rushed towards the demented bots trying to get in the cabin. A good swing managed to take out 3 of them at once. "Stay in there, kid! There's still some left!" Montgomery made sure that Jack was cooperating well, as another demented bot snuck up on him to try to tug his tail, before Monty shoved him off and get its head bashed off.
"Where are they coming from?!" Monty thought, as he heard some noise from the Gator Grub snack bar. A pair of demented staff bots appeared in his way, where his golf club did the work. From the distance, he saw two more screamers come out from the open doors that led to the underground. Montgomery didn't know how many of those bots were, but they were going to tear up his golf course, even that kid if he didn't get it blocked. "Golf course's closed, you hear!" Monty took care of the bots, before he immediately closed both the double doors. His hunch was right, as through a gap in the doors before they closed, there was already another demented staff bot coming up. Monty slid the golf club through the handles of the double doors, as the demented bot was trying to get in, trying with more force every time. Monty noticed a vending machine nearby, which he ran towards it, so it can push it over to the doors to completely block them, before he would find more loose junk to continue the barricade.
Jack Watson was terrified out of his mind, along with suffering an overload of events in a single span of 10 minutes. He got separated from his friends, he got chased by a killer mechanical spider, he ends up lost in a golf course with a putting cub as a weapon, his favorite Glamrock animatronic appeared, several evil looking staff bots came out of nowhere, and now he was huddled in a storage shed that was resembling a cabin. He managed to get the door closed to lock himself in, as he heard Monty trashing around with the staff bots outside. Then, there was silence.
Jack didn't know what to do, if it was safe outside. Montgomery seemed friendly to him, but he was a very intimidating animatronic. He heard several loud footsteps from outside the door to the cabin storage shed, where there was a tap or two. "Hey little guy. They're gone." Montgomery could be heard from the other end, as Jack opened the door for him. While Monty wanted to check on the boy to make sure he wasn't harmed, the gator was seeing how dull and grey the inside of the "cabin" was. "They couldn't even get a custom interior? People want to see a cabin, not all of these buckets!" Monty complained, but Jack was worried about his own safety. "Are they gone?!"
"Relax, I took care of it. The problem is I don't think we're both safe here. Wherever they came from, I blocked off the entrance to it. No way that they are getting through the barricade."
"You made a barricade?"
"Piled on a vending machine and some loose benches. Made sure to slip a golf club through the handles to the doors, so those creepy screaming smiling sickos don't try to harm us." Monty said, as Jack kept his golf club with him, as he stepped out of the cabin. "Do you even know who they were?"
"No, but if I see another one, I bash it into bits." Montgomery said, until he got another splitting headache. This time, Jack was a witness to which he saw Monty's eyes flash red, until the headache faded. "You ok?"
"I'm fine, kid. Been getting headaches.."
"You don't have to call me, kid. I have a name, you know!" Jack said, even though Montgomery wasn't trying to talk down to Watson by referring to him as "kid" or "little guy". "Alright, then what's your name?"
"I'm Jack."
"I don't know jack on how many kids that gave me autographs named Jack. I need more details! A last name?"
"Watson." Jack said, as Monty's personality made him stand out than expected. "Watson, huh. Could you give me a recap on that spider you mentioned? If it wasn't the one that chased you, then where were you when you got chased?" Montgomery wanted a recap from Watson, where the boy would explain...
"That's all?" Montgomery said, as Jack finished his story. "I don't know where my friends are... I think that spider is still out there, looking for them!" Jack warned Montgomery, but he knew that he had bigger problems. "We'll get that spider! Whatever that mini one was, it raised an alarm. We still need to take care of it somehow. The only problem is that nowhere seems to be safe. Not even my place.." Montgomery mused, as Jack was thinking of some place that could have been safe, until he glanced up to the ceiling, noticing the catwalks above. "What about up there?" Jack pointed, as Montgomery noticed the catwalks that were above the golf course. "The last time I was there, the upstairs were blocked with construction signs. Looks dangerous. I don't know if those catwalks can support my weight."
"It can certainly support me." Jack said, as Monty was thinking a bit until he had an idea. "Wait.. I raised the gate at the lobby.. I think I have an idea." Monty said, as he gave a smirk.
The next thing that Jack knew, Montgomery took him to the lobby, as he had the boy go past the "Under Construction" signs that was covering up the stairs that led to the upper level of the golf course. Montgomery followed him, where they saw the loading dock for a bunch of gator-themed carriages. Apparently, it looked like Fazbear Entertainment were planning to build an aerial gondola ride at the golf course for the kids. There was a catwalk directly below the carriages, but Monty wasn't sure if the catwalks could support his weight. "What do you want me to do?" Jack asked him, as he dropped down onto the catwalks.
"That spider animatronic is coming back here, since I took out it's friend. My plan is that we can lure it up here, so that when it chases us, the catwalks will collapse under it's weight and fall back down. I get the upper hand, so I can disable it, where we can get out of the Pizza Plex without worrying about that spider breathing down our necks." Montgomery explained, where Jack did a hop on the catwalk to test it's stability. "I think you can come down here. It doesn't even move!" Jack told the gator, where Montgomery made sure to help himself down from the loading dock and onto the metal catwalk.
There was already a loud creak, but the catwalk held. The problem was that Montgomery looked nervous from being up above the golf course. "Is something wrong?" Jack asked him, as Montgomery was hesitant, while following Jack. "Don't tell my bandmates, but I'm not a fan of heights! You sure this is safe?!" Monty said, as he stayed at the middle of the catwalk, since he was afraid that if he drifted too close to the edges, he could fall over.
Jack already saw something that looked interesting, where there was a large bucket prop near the catwalks with a button was next to it. The words "Splash Bucket" could be seen on the giant bucket, as there was a piece of paper taped to the button. "What's this?" Jack took a look, as it was a memo from the construction crew to possible management.
IMPORTANT MESSAGE from CONSTRUCTION:
"The Splash Bucket is not to be enabled at all times! Due to a lack of communication, the catwalks near the Splash Bucket will be hit and fall, if activated! We are unable to do an immediate rework of the maintenance areas for the Gliding Gator Gondola, but we demand that Monty's Gator Golf Course remain closed until further notice!"
"Montgomery, I thought your golf course is open?" Jack said, as he read the memo. "It is? Wait a minute.." Montgomery took the note, as he scanned the memo. "Are they crazy? They mistreat my place with a deathtrap? I nearly tore my course up, but what are doing by leaving this thing here will kill someone!" Montgomery fumed, until he had another possible idea. "But...if it's made to be a deathtrap.. if we can lure that spider up here.." Montgomery continued, as both Jack and Monty had the same idea, which they said in unison.
"Then if all else fails, we can use the Splash Bucket!"
"You're a genius!" Jack exclaimed, as Monty was about to celebrate his idea, until he had another headache, causing his glasses to nearly fall off from his face and off the catwalk. "...Ow.." Monty complained, until they managed to get off the catwalk by climbing back onto the loading dock to head back downstairs. "Should I be worried about your headaches?" Jack asked him. "I'm going to have to wait until the morning to get it sorted out. Come on.. let's get out of this place for a while. Make sure you still have a club with you. I don't know how my friends are doing on the home front."
Monty managed to find a Snack Space counter that was near the entrance to the Fazer Blast Laser Tag Maze a good distance away, as Monty made sure to bust open the staff door to the food that was currently in storage. He dug into the inventory that was left over, where he pulled out a carton of apple juice and a plastic container of potato salad. Both of them were still on their guard, since more of those "screamers" could have been roaming around. The golf clubs that each of them carried were their weapons, even though Jack couldn't really do damage, when Montgomery was the real haymaker.
"Come on, kid. This might keep you on your feet until Freddy comes around." Monty said, as Jack looked at the food and drink. "I'm not that hungry, though." Jack said, but Monty didn't want the kid to complain that he was going to be hungry after he refused. "If you don't eat now, you're going to get hungry later." Monty said, trying not to pressure him. "I don't think I mentioned it, but you're just as the posters looked.." Jack said, as he felt awkward, sitting next to his icon. "Of course. They wouldn't lie about me. Me being mighty and all."
"You could be a superhero, like from the ones that I read in my comics." Jack recommended to him. "A superhero? I could lift an airplane, but I'm not that strong. I have my limits, meaning I can't break my back, testing myself." Montgomery replied.
Monty did manage to get Jack to only consume half of what the former gave, where Watson offered Monty some apple juice.
"I'm good."
"Why can't you drink apple juice?"
"It can fry my circuits, that's why."
"Does none of the other Glamrocks eat food?" Jack asked him, as he did remember seeing posters of the Glamrocks, mostly of Chica, advertising and eating burgers, pizza, milkshakes, etc. "Nahh.. We're not hungry at all. I do know Chica likes to try some food, though." Monty said, though Jack was interested. "Does Chica like food, even if she can't eat it?" Jack mentioned to Monty. Montgomery leaned against the wall, while Jack sat at a stool near the counter.
"We did have a talk or two before we got stuffed into a bunch of jail cells for what happened with this security guy who just passed out on me." Monty said, as Jack had a confused look. "Hey, don't worry about that last part! He was still alive when me and the others found him! I left him on a bench to sleep! He just bumped into me and passed out!" Montgomery immediately said, since he thought that Jack believed Monty might be dangerous, before Monty got the chance to continue. "So while we were waiting for help, Chica left Freddy briefly where she starts talking about food. Now, I don't blame her. It's the shapes and sizes that are on those video screens that cover up everything. Now, I'm no food snob, though while we were walking out of our cells tonight, Chica again mentioned food. She saw how people were using their beaks before eating them.."
"You mean smelling the food?"
"Smelling? Is that what people call it?"
Jack nodded, as Monty rolled his eyes. "It's stuff like that which I avoid. Thinking too much. It's Freddy who's paranoid about everything." Montgomery said, though Jack was interested on what Freddy was like. "What is Freddy like? Is he just like what he is on stage?"
"Freddy.. Heh.. He's alright. I shouldn't be green over him, since he's strong and all. Not green like me, I'm talking the other type of green. Roxanne knows how to handle things and is chilled to the bone. But Chica.." Montgomery was starting to open up a bit to Jack, "Now she's a lass who I can take golfing. If only I get her attention.."
Jack was curious about what Montgomery meant about Chica, so he tried to press him a bit. "Why do you want to get Chica's attention? Does she even like golfing?" Jack said, but suddenly Montgomery went defensive. "Of course, she likes golfing! She needs someone like me. I can give her something fancy made out of steel and wear, so we can be high rolling on stage. Not that I love her or anything! Whatever you're implying, it's completely ridiculous!" Montgomery said, until Jack had him be quiet. "Shh! Don't yell out loud!" Jack said in a whisper, but there was no one nearby.
"No one is nearby. If any of those screamers sneak up on us, I knock them back." Monty said, as Jack finished his carton of apple juice. He only ate half of the potato salad, though it was still enough to keep his stomach from getting completely empty. "Where do we go now? I don't know where my friends could have ended up." Jack said, as Monty thought about it.
"We need to find shelter somewhere else. The last time I got in trouble, I left some sleepy guy on a bench near this mall. I think I saw some playground nearby. Should be safe." Montgomery waited until Jack was ready, as they disembarked down further to the Pizza Plex. They didn't want to hide out in the Laser Tag Maze, since it could have been a hive for those screamers.
After a long walk, the two of them got to the mall. It was still quiet, as the duo were on the lower level of the hallway lined with stores. There was still something foreboding about the place at night, even with the faint neon lighting. There was some stairs that led to the upper level, but as Monty had the idea to go there, there was a sound.
Tap. Tap. Tap..
Jack immediately went quiet with Monty, as something was.. bouncing down the stairs? Monty kept Jack close by, as they watched as a colorful basketball in retro colors were bouncing down each step on it's own accord. The moment it got to the bottom, it stopped bouncing, rolling towards them.
"Stay close. There's something nearby.." Monty immediately whispered, where the two saw the entrance to the Play Palace close by. "In here!" Monty whispered again, as they hurried inside, ignoring how the shutter was forced open, not by Monty's hand, but another.
"Montgomery! It's too dark!" Jack whispered to him from inside the darkened Play Palace, where they continued the conversation in hushed voices. "Do you have your phone still? How much battery does it have? I don't have a flashlight, but I can still see a bit with my vision."
Jack pulled out his phone, as it was around 30% for his battery. "I can't use my phone for my flashlight forever! There got to be a flashlight somewhere!" Jack said, as they were in the Play Palace. Ominous play structures of multi-tier fun were now dark temples. Several stars high on the walls glowed to represent night. Both Jack and Montgomery had to watch where they stepped, as Montgomery nearly fell into one of the ball pits. "There's got to be a light source somewhere.." Montgomery got his golf club ready, in case someone tried to sneak attack him.
"Hello!? Anyone over there?!" A shrill voice could be heard from the other end of the Play Palace. Montgomery didn't know if it was a trap, but it sounded like a person. "Be quiet, we're heading over there!" Montgomery yelled, as both him and Jack went to the source of the voice. When they got there, there was Sunrise.
What was left of him, however.
"Please..! Put me back together! I need to be back together!" Sunrise yelled, as he only had a head and torso. His limbs were missing with exposed wiring, but he was miraculously alive. "I said, be quiet! What did this to you? Was it one of those screaming bots?" Montgomery questioned him, as he kneeled in Sunrise's view. "Moondrop.. I trusted him... He hurt me... Why would he hurt me?"
"Moondrop? We need a flashlight or something for my pal, here. You know where to find one?"
"There are friends during the day who have a room to sit in... I could point, but... my arms and legs... they are thrown all over the place."
"Don't be recommended. Which direction? Tilt your head." Montgomery had Sunrise tilt his head to face where the room was. Jack turned his phone flashlight on, as he shined it at the area where Sunrise was facing to confirm with Montgomery. "Montgomery, there's a locked door here." Jack whispered to him, trying to keep his voice down. "Be quiet. I can try to fix you later.." Montgomery said, as he got up to help Jack with the door. A quick forceful shove of the door sent it open, as they saw that it was a small security and maintenance booth with a window peering towards the interior of the Play Palace.
"There's a flashlight here!" Jack said, as it was in a holster by the desk. "Don't think I can get the lights on.. I'm not leaving that sunny jester guy to suffer alone." Montgomery said, peering out of the window into the darkened wide room. "Is he a friend?" Jack asked him. "Never seen him before, but I can tell he's nice and can make a good ally. Come on. We have enough time. His limbs are hidden all over the room. It's not like we need to go look around for generators.." Montgomery said, as they left the security and maintenance booth, as Jack went inside of the play structures in the center of the room, while Montgomery checked if one of Sunrise's limbs ended up in one of the ball pits.
Sure enough, there was a ragged mechanical pelvis with one leg and a shoe with a bell attached on top of the ball pit. "This is easy.." Montgomery thought, as he grab the leg and pelvis, but he ended up jinxing it, when he heard a set of soft bells ringing at the entrance of the Play Palace.
Something about them sounded famil-
"HE'S HERE! SECURITY ALERT! MOONDROP IS HERE! SECURITY ALERT, SECURITY ALERT! WOO WOO, WOO WOO!" Sunrise suddenly yelled at the top of his lungs, alerting both Jack and Montgomery. "Watson, stay hidden! Pip down that racket! You're going to get yourself torn up again!" Montgomery warned Jack, but tried to get Sunrise to shut up. Montgomery tried to head back to Sunrise, until a voice was heard that could have chilled the gator's tail and spine.
"Naughty boys... naughty boys... It's past your bedtime... You must be punished..."
Montgomery immediately gripped his club, as he went still. Where did that come from?!
It wasn't until Montgomery saw a red flash of light on the corner of his eyes.
"Nighty night..!"
Two seconds was all it took for Monty to know that he was screwed, when it was followed by a shriek. He didn't have time to think. He immediately took a swing.
Author's Note: You thought I would forget about our boy Sunny?
In case, you're wondering.. The "screamers" are actually based around the Nightmarionne S.T.A.F.F Bots in the actual game. While in the game canon, it's explained they were bots vandalized by Vanny, this AU raises their threat level high and gives them a story of their own.
For the hints for the two next chapters, Evelyn goes on a wild ride at the amusement park, while Harper finds herself in a "forbidden zone".
Those two girls are going to end up in the extremes.
