"Yakunan!" Xenudah roared as he approached the weakened elder. "I'm ending your misery!"
"Xenu, please, this isn't you! Listen to me, I know you've been doing wrong, but this is no time to destroy Ninjago. We need to talk." Yakunan said as he reached a hand out to grasp his son's staff away from him.
"No, I've waited far too long to talk, it's time to end this now!" Xenudah snarled harshly, using his staff to push Yakunan aside. "My father has taken everything from me!"
"But I've tried to make it better!" Yakunan exclaimed, his voice cracking higher and higher. "I love you more than anything, and you know that! I love you so much, and I've given you a life you would have never had! I've worked every day to give you everything you want! You have everything that you could want and need! You have me right here, yet you won't accept my help. And now you want to destroy the world?!"
Xenudah was on the edge of going mad. "I've waited so long for any sign of you for decades, but you never came! And when you did, Lloyd turned you against me!"
"No, listen to me." Yakunan grabbed Xenudah's hand, his voice cracking even more as he continued to plead. "I know I've been horrible to you; I'm sorry. But I promise I'll do anything to make it better. If you'd only let me into your heart again, I–"
"No!" Xenudah pushed Yakunan off him. "I've heard enough of your lies! You're pathetic! You were never going to show any affection, you were never going to care, and I've had enough!" Xenudah shrieked, "You know why I hate you so much? It's because you're selfish! You want the easy life for yourself; you only care about yourself!"
"No, Xenu… Look at me, please..." Yakunan looked sadly at his son. "What happened to you? You've changed so much..."
"I've changed?" Xenudah roared as he covered his ears. "No! No! You're the one that has changed! You act like you love me, but you're just a fraud! It's time I end this." Xenudah paused and clenched his fist. "I'm going to end this as soon as I can destroy you. You won't get away with what you've done to me!"
"Xenudah, please don't..."
"No, Yakunan, I'm going to end the world. I've had enough, and I'm going to end it once and for all!"
"Xenudah, wait! Please, Xenu!" Yakunan knocked Xenudah to the ground. "Don't do this! You have to listen to me."
"Shut up! I'm going to end you, anyway! The world deserves to end, and you're first on my list!" Xenudah pushed his father off him.
"Xenudah, you don't have to do this. I've heard your cries for so long—I've heard your screams of despair, your pleas for help. Why do you believe that I've ignored you?" Yakunan paused and took a deep breath. "I never want anything but the best for you, my son."
"No, you don't!" Xenudah cried. "You don't know anything! You know nothing about me! I've grown up alone and I've suffered so much. You can't understand anything about me! I'm nothing! I've been abandoned my whole life! I'm just a part of you! I'm just a thorn in your side that needs to be tossed away! You have to let me go!"
"That's not true! I love you so much, and you know that. You know I love you, my son; it hurts me so much to see you like this."
"No!" Xenudah growled sharply as he shoved his father back again. "Just SHUT UP!"
"Xenudah..." Yakunan tried to reach out to his son. "I'm so sorry that you had to suffer this much."
"I'm not your son!" Xenudah shouted, "I'm nothing to you! I will always be alone! I have nothing to live for anymore!" His voice had gone deeper and his chest began to heave. "You have everything to live for, and I'll never have it!"
"My son..."
"No! You don't get it, and you never will!" Xenudah began to cry clearly. "I've been through so much, and there's nothing here! I have nothing because you took it from me!"
"Xenudah, that's not true, and you know that. You're the strongest person I know! I've always wanted a son, and you're the son I've always wanted." Yakunan's words made Xenudah cry even more. "If I thought you were weak, I never would have wanted you. I know you've been through so much because I've gone through it too. You're the strongest person I know."
"Really?" Xenudah wiped the tears from his eyes. "You've never really loved me. That's why I hate you so much."
"No, that's not true! I love you." Yakunan hesitated and wiped his son's face with his thumb. "You know that."
"And you're a fraud." Xenudah scoffed. "No one has ever cared for me, but you pretend to..."
At this moment, Yakunan grabbed his son's hand. "Xenudah, don't do this to me, I beg you not to! I know isn't you. My son, you're worth more than the world!" Yakunan's eyes closed and his voice lowered. "Xenudah Yamiku Akurai...you're the greatest thing that has ever happened to me."
Xenudah shook his head. "I'm lonely and desperate and I need to end this world."
"No, my son..." Yakunan stopped and tried to calm his son. "I'm trying… I'm trying so hard to help you, alright? I promise I'll try harder–"
"Be quiet." Xenudah looked away. "You don't love me. You're just doing this so I won't destroy the whole world...and maybe get out of being imprisoned. You don't love me; you just want to save your own skin."
"Xenudah...I..." Yakunan replied. "You know that's not true! I love you."
"You're just saying those words to me." Xenudah cried bitterly. "I want to believe you, but I can't! I can't resist the darkness any longer!"
"I know, but I'm saying it because I mean it!" Yakunan desperately grabbed his son's hand. "Xenudah, I love you."
"No, you don't! You're just saying that so I won't destroy the world. But you know I will!" Xenudah shook his fathers' hand off him. "You can't! You can't love me."
"No! I don't want you to destroy the world, Xenu, but you can't destroy everything." Yakunan held tightly to his son as he nodded his head. "This world may not be perfect, but it's worth saving."
"No. It all deserves to be destroyed!" Xenudah folded his arms. "I've wasted my whole life! I've been alone! I don't deserve to be saved!"
"Xenudah..."
"I know what you're going to say, and, I've heard it a thousand times, but it's not true." Xenudah clenched his fists and shouted. "I've had to suffer through all my life, all thanks to you! You abandoned me, so I feel isolated and alone!"
"Xenu, please..." Yakunan cried. "It's not true that you've been abandoned! I did all I could to find you! I never wanted to abandon you!"
"Is that why I was left alone for so long?" Xenudah tilted his head and narrowed his eyes. "Why was I abandoned then? Where were you all those times I needed you?"
"Xenu..." Yakunan interjected. "I love you, and...it hurts me, to see you like this."
"Don't lie to me!" Xenudah yelled. "You never loved me! You only want me to end the world so you can save yourself!"
"Xenu..."
"Shut up." Xenudah growled. He turned away and looked down. "My childhood is gone forever. I was weak and incompetent; I was a fool. My life was filled with resentment and pain, and now it's time for me to end this world, for as long as you're in it, I'll continue to hate until there's nothing left."
"You're not..."
"I am!" Xenudah started to rub his temples. He pushed his father back with the handle of his staff. "This world is going to go up in flames! I can feel it! It's time to end...all...of it!"
"Xenu, please..." Yakunan's voice cracked as he urged Xenudah to stop. "Xenudah, you don't mean that!" Yakunan's eyes pleaded with Xenudah as he continued. "You love me and you were always my son. This is your home, Xenu!"
"No, you can't control me!" Xenudah shouted in shock. "My heart is raging, and you can't control me! You're always trying to control me like my life was for your pleasure! You want to decide everything for me! Well, this time, you can't!" Xenudah stopped and continued to look down. "This time, I'm going to make my decisions! I may love you and you might care about me, but this time... it's my turn...and you can't control...me!"
"Xenudah..." Yakunan's closing eyes quivered as he held his son's hand tightly. "Please...I'm begging you, don't do this."
"If you love me...you'd let me..." Xenudah put his arm down and held his father's hand off him. "Move, I said! Let me go!" Xenudah pushed his father away with his fist, and Yakunan slid backward. "I have to do this. I don't have a choice. I can't let this world live without meaning. This is wrong, and you know it!"
"But Xenudah... " Yakunan looked up. "You've suffered for so long. You don't deserve to destroy the world."
"If you love me, you'll let me end this." Xenudah continued to growl at his father. "If you love me... you'll let me...end...this!" Xenudah shouted as he raised his right arm and took his fist upward. "This world deserves to be destroyed! This world will burn and I will end it!"
"No!" Yakunan shouted as he tried to jump and run away from his son. "If you do this, you'll regret it! Xenudah, I can't watch you do this! I know I hurt you, but that doesn't mean I want you to ruin everything! Ninjago is your home too, and I can't watch you destroy it."
"I don't need you anymore! You don't belong in this world! You only want this world to stay because it's what makes you feel in control over me! I don't need you!" Xenudah shouted as he clenched his fist harder. "The only way to end a problem is to get rid of the source! I'm tired of you! I'm tired of you controlling my life!"
"Don't do this to me, Xenudah… "
"Stop!" Xenudah cried out. "Just stop talking! I'm not listening to you! Just stop!" he moved to his left as he tilted his head backward. "Don't touch me again!" he cried. "I don't need you! I don't need you hurting me anymore! I don't need you not caring about me! I just need you...to stop!" Xenudah closed his eyes and clenched his arm. "You just need to stop!"
"Xenudah…" Yakunan started to get to his feet. "Listen to me. I know I've hurt you, and I just want to make up for everything I did to wrong you… Please…"
"I already told you!" Xenudah shouted at him. "You're the source of all of my problems and I want you out of the way! I'm done with you and that is final! Just go before I make you!"
Yakunan sighed. Trying to reason with his son was useless. He knew Xenudah was being controlled by the darkness, and he was pushed to his limit. Even as his heart flashed with the purest love, he was in complete despair.
"I know you don't want me, and I'll go… But when you're willing to come back, I'll be here waiting…" Yakunan looked at his son and nodded his head. The pain in his eyes was undeniable. "For both of our sakes…"
"I won't be coming back!" Xenudah cried hysterically. "Go! Don't come back! Don't come back ever again!" He shouted, and Yakunan shook his head as he began to walk away.
"I love you, Xenudah…" Yakunan said as he sighed heavily. "I'll always be here." He gave one last glance at his son, but he didn't look back, the Oni following his son as he left.
