26th June Prompt: Triangular

"I think I fancy Granger."

George didn't even bother to look up from his Potions notes. "Yeah, obviously."

"Obviously?" Fred exclaimed.

"Well, it's been a few months, hasn't it?" George mused. He scratched a large circle on his parchment. "Maybe we can use Puffer-fish Eyes in the Toffees. But we'd still have to find a way to localize the swelling..."

Fred snatched the parchment from his brother's hands, ignoring his immediate protests. "I need a plan, Georgie! A plan of action."

At this, George looked up and sighed. "Fred, we both know you aren't going to do anything about your little crush. Not right now."

"What?"

"Ron fancies her." George raised his hands in mock surrender at Fred's spluttering. "Now, don't look at me like that. I'm rooting for you, obviously."

"Doesn't sound like it."

"Now, Ronnie's a bit of a prat, but he is our brother and Granger's best friend." He raised an eyebrow. "You make your love declarations now and we'll be a brother short and she'll be a friend down. No one's gonna thank you for that, least of all Granger."

At Fred's uncharacteristic silence, George softened. "Just a wait little. It's Ron, remember? He'll mess up his chances with her all by himself. Then you'll come in, knight in shining armour..."

"Now that..." Fred broke out into a grin. "That sounds like a plan, Georgie."
