The chapter takes place on Wednesday morning, December 26th, 2012.

Reid exhaled and stretched his body as he opened and closed the front door. "Okay. I got the car seats adjusted, the luggage and the presents are in the backseat," he said, pointing back.

Élise was in the small foyer, fixing Séraphine's beret and zipping her coat. "Sweet. Ready to go back to D.C.?"

"Yea!" Séraphine cheered, raising her fists in the air.

"And before you forget," Mr. Micha walked out of the living room and into the hallway, carrying a comfortably dressed Isaac in his arms.

"Oh, yes. Thanks, pop," Élise gently took her son from her father's arms and immediately started smooching his face. "Mommy can never forget about you, you adorable little boy."

Isaac babbled and let out a cry.

Reid opened the door, letting Opal immediately dash out of the house for the car before he closed it again. Ms. Geneva walked in, carrying a plastic cover paper plate.

"Thanks, mom." Élise took the plate from her mother's hand. "We'll call you when we get to D.C."

"I'll be praying for you," Ms. Geneva waved.

Mr. Micha replied, "Same here."

"Bye," Reid waved to his in-laws as he opened the door again for Élise, Séraphine, and Isaac before he locked and closed the door. He and Élise helped the children into their car seats before they sat upfront, Reid in the driver's seat and Élise in the front passenger seat, helping herself to one of the leftover Christmas cookies.

Élise placed a candy cane-shaped cookie in a napkin, looked at the reflection mirror, and asked Séraphine, "Would you like a cookie?"

Séraphine answered, "Yah, peaze."

"Here you go," Élise turned to give Séraphine the cookie.

"Don't mind if I do," Reid helped himself to one before turning on the engine.

They waved to Mr. Micha and Ms. Geneva one last time before the Bastien-Reid family drove back to D.C.

The family decided to make a quick stop at Arthur and Brenda's place before leaving the state. They stopped at the exact locations but different places when they drove to New Jersey, and just as Reid predicted, they made it back to D.C. in the afternoon time.

The day went back fast, and now it was nighttime. Reid was in bed, reading Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol under the covers when Élise walked in the room in the new comfy lounge set Brenda got her for Christmas and stretched her arms.

"I finally got the kids down," Élise crawled under the comforters and sighed, resting the back of her head on her pillow. "Séraphine was lights out, Opal's sound asleep, but I swear, Isaac is a kicking ninja in a past life."

Reid chuckled, closing the book as he quickly finished it and placed it on the bedside. "Mmm…" inhaling and exhaling, having his eyes closed. "What a great Christmas day we had yesterday."

"And now we have a few more days until the new year," Élise reminded him. "We still have a lot to handle. Of course, the move itself. We need boxes, cardboard or plastic; maybe both," Élise snapped her fingers, and something went off in her head. "You know what I think? I think we need to visit the house a few times a week until the move. I need to get a list done and organized, make sure we pack up every single thing that we need and not leave anything behind."

Reid picked up his head a bit, faced Élise, and smirked. "Have you forgotten I have an eidetic memory?"

Élise playfully scoffed. "Never, Enchanting One."

"Enchanting One," Reid grinned. "I like."

Élise pecked his lips. "You're cute."

Reid and Élise drove through the paved pristine tree-lined driveway and the gates, seeing Ophelia waiting for them.

"I will never get tired on the driveway," Élise leaned back against the front seat and smiled like there's no tomorrow. "I can't wait."

Reid had to laugh. "Well, you're going to have to."

Élise humorously rolled her eyes as she and Reid stepped out of the car and met up with Ophelia. "How are you?"

"I'm great," Ophelia cuddled her hands in the pockets of her black faux-fur trim-hooded puffed coat. "Did you two have a pleasant Christmas?"

"Absolutely," answered Reid.

"Let's come on in," Ophelia motioned her head towards the house, suggesting they go inside instead of being in the freezing cold. Reid closed the door behind them as they entered the foyer.

Ophelia freed a sigh and shook off the chills. "You two wanted to retake a look at the house?" she guessed.

Élise peeked her head into the living room. "Why not? We'll be living here soon." she tucked her hands in her pants pockets.

"You're too excited to move, aren't you?"

Élise replied, "Wouldn't you?"

Ophelia gave them another brief rundown on the house before the builder himself, Mr. Stephen Gubarev, made a surprise visit and had a quick chat with the couple about the place.

"Okay," Élise looked at the printout sheet of the moving checklist she just got off the internet. She was talking to herself now. "Get the rental and transfer service documents, reservations, moving company, and help…"

"Hey, Élise…"

Élise jumped, placing her hand on her chest. She turned and saw Reid entering and closing the bedroom door behind him.

"So much for relaxing," Reid joked.

"Ha-ha," Élise replied sarcastically. "I'm just looking after the checklist to make sure we're on track for everything we need before moving in the next few weeks."

"Let's put that down for a moment," Reid took Élise's hand and pulled her closer, allowing her to rest her head on his chest. Taking the sheet from her hand and tossing it aside, "With the kids resting and Opal napping, I say we have a little fun ourselves."

Élise sensed what Reid was talking about. "Oh, you nasty yet naughty boy."

Reid was in the office, neatly organized the books he gathered from there, the bedside tables in the bedrooms and from work by title and might want to read again before moving in the large cardboard box he and Élise recently bought.

They decided to start small with packing up before the big move in the few weeks, starting with buying boxes.

And now, they were getting ready for their trip to Las Vegas after having breakfast.

Élise strolled into the living room with some books in her hands. "Found some more books for you to pack for now, babe."

"Aw, thank you," Reid rewarded Élise with a lip kiss. He sighed. "We're actually doing this."

Élise wrapped her arms around Reid. "I know. I got most of my clothes sorted out. And some of the other stuff from the utility closets," she lightly tapped his chest. "Packed up as well."

Reid chuckled before he closed the box.

"I think we got enough packing done for today," she replied, looking at the other boxes in the office. "More so than ever."

Reid looked around. "Yeah, I think so as well. After we come back from Las Vegas, we'll finish up."

Élise giggled as she and Reid kissed again, embracing another lip kiss before fussy cries came through the portable baby monitor. They saw Isaac in his baby bouncer, playing with Séraphine and Opal.

"Aw, look at that," she smiled. "I'm going to miss those days."

Reid smirked as Élise left the office to tend to Isaac. "As anyone would."

Before following after her, Reid noticed the gray curtains were slightly opened and fully closed them; he guessed Élise must have opened them a while ago when she came in before he did and forgot to close them.

The Bastien-Reid family got a good night's rest and before they knew it, they were already flying from D.C. to Las Vegas for one last family trip before the year ended.

Élise lends back in the Toyota Prius with Séraphine and Isaac in the backseat with her; Reid was in the passenger seat while William drove. "Thanks for letting us stay for the New Year, Papa William."

"Anytime, Élise," William smirked as he looked at the rear-view mirror for a quick second before focusing on the road again. "It's always a pleasure to have everyone here. There are some great places to go for the New Year."

Élise bit down on her tongue and squealed. "I know. I got tickets to see Celine Dion and Stevie Wonder."

"You're going to love her show at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace," said William.

Élise replied, "I've been listening to some of her songs, and they're really good."

Reid agreed, "Same here."

"Mmm-hmm-mmm!" Élise dabbed her mouth after having enjoyed the two grilled cheese sandwiches with tomato William made for lunch, rocking Isaac on her knee and feeding him puree fruits and vegetables. "That was gooood."

Reid finished gulping the rest of his glass of milk. "Delicious, dad."

"Yummy!" Séraphine babbled before she let out a small burp and began drinking her cup of milk.

Reid got into his best Hotch-inspired tone as Reid gathered everyone's plates. "Séraphine…"

Séraphine shrugged. "Sorry."

Reid went into the kitchen just as William walked out, wiping his hands before tossing the napkin in the nearest trashcan.

"Mind if I hold my favorite grandson?"

Élise giggled. "Why not?" she gently gave Isaac to William. "Here you go to your grandpa."

"Hey, little man," William tickled Isaac's hug. "Can you say 'grandpa' yet?"

"Aammb…" Isaac babbled. "Aaab…"

William slowly replied, "Grand…pa. Grand…pa."

"Abb…" Isaac babbled again before he blew a long raspberry, making William laugh.

William cuddled Isaac closer to him. "Aw, you have your grandma Diana's blue-gray eyes."

"Yeah, aren't they pretty?" Élise helped Séraphine clean up the table and sanitize her hands. "They're so clear and pure."

Séraphine pouted her mouth. "Ann me?"

Élise stroked her head. "Oh, Fifi. Your eyes are like two pretty chocolate brown diamonds. A diamond is a gem, rock, jewel, and paragon known to be one of the hardest substances on Earth and sparkles like you've never seen them sparkle."

"Wow! Tanks, mommy."

After the family had some time to realize, Reid, Élise, and William decided to take Séraphine and Isaac to The Bellagio Conservatory and Botanical Gardens to see the annual Winter Garden display. When they got home, they had a nutritiously tasty dinner.

Reid kissed Isaac's head numerous times before tucking him in the portable crib laid out in the middle of the room. "Good night, little man," he whispered in his ears, lightly laying Isaac on his back.

Stretching his arms and back before placing his hand there, he tossed the comforters aside and laid down in bed, next to a sleeping Séraphine.

"Looking at our plans for tomorrow?" he asked Élise, who was on her phone.

Élise sighed. "We do the usual; see Mama Diana, visit Ethel and Gordon and see the rest of the fam. Before we see Celine Dion at the Colosseum tomorrow night, I think we should visit the Silverton Aquarium, maybe the Ethel M. Chocolate Factory for the Cactus Garden Light Display."

"That'd be great," Reid smirked, liking the idea before staring down at Séraphine sleeping and kissing her temple.

After breakfast, Reid and Élise decided to visit Diana at Bennington.

"Mom," Reid got his mother's attention as she sat by the window, doing a crossword puzzle and her reading glasses perched to her nose.

A smile came across her face. "Spencer, honey," she took her glasses off, set them aside with her crossword puzzle book, steadily got up, and hugged her son. "Ooh, my boy. Mmm, it's always good to see you."

Reid smiled. "Same."

Diana pulled back and melted as she cupped her hands to his face before she noticed Élise distantly standing behind him. "My beautiful Élise," she strolled to Élise and hugged her.

"Mama Diana."

Diana chuckled. "Oh, I love it when you call me that."

"Hi, granma." Séraphine energetically flapped her hand.

Diana squatted, stroked Séraphine's face, started hugging and kissing her. "Oh, my favorite granddaughter," she gasped when she saw Isaac in the stroller. "And my favorite grandson, you are you doing?"

Isaac babbled. "Aabbhha…"

Diana squealed; like any grandmother, she can never get tired of seeing her grandchildren. After kissing Isaac's hands before she stood again and sighed.

"Are you all here for New Year's?"

Élise answered, "Mmm-hmm. We got tickets to see Celine Dion tonight and Stevie Wonder tomorrow night."

"I remember seeing Elvis Presley once," Diana leaned against her seat again, crossed her legs, and smiled at the reminiscing memories of her head. "I remember like it was just yesterday..."

Reid and Élise sat down across the couch and listened in fascinating silence.

After visiting Diana for an hour and a half, Reid and Élise took Séraphine and Isaac to the Silverton Aquarium; after staying for another hour and a half, they decided to make another surprise.

"Family!"

John exclaimed as he greeted Reid, Élise, Séraphine, and Isaac at the front door of his parents' ranch.

"How's everyone doing?" he moved aside to allow the family into the house. "How's Christmas?"

"It wazz gad!" Séraphine giggled, grasping the giant stuffed aquatic animal Reid bought her.

John crouched and played with her red Santa cap on her head. "Did you get everything you wanted for Christmas?"

Séraphine bounced her head. "Yah!"

"Alright!" John held his hand out, allowing Séraphine to give him a high five, and snickered.

A voice came from the kitchen, "John!" Melissa came out, holding Sabrina's hand, and carrying Samuel. "Spencer! Lise!"

"What up, Melissa?" Élise waved.

Sabrina ran to Reid and Élise's sides. "Hi, Uncle Spencer!"

Reid lifted and then gave her a hug. "Hi, Brina! Did you like your Christmas present?"

"Ah-huh!" Sabrina enthusiastically shook her head.

Élise pulled back from Melissa's hug and gasped when she saw Samuel. "Hey, little guy." she ran her fingers through his short reddish-gold hair. "Look at these locks, boy!" her eyes widened. "Have you been breaking some hearts?"

"He has our hearts," Melissa tickled his cheeks. "That's all the ones he's breaking for now."

The front door unlocked and opened again, revealing Ethel and Gordon. She gasped as she removed her trench coat and tossed it on the rack.

"Hellooo!" she immediately gave Reid and Élise hugs. "Mmm. How is everyone?"

Isaac babbled.

Ethel melted and giggled, bent to his height in the stroller. "How is my movie star nephew?"

"Your movie star nephew is doing great, thank you," Élise got Isaac out of the stroller and cradled him, giving him a smooch.

Gordon took off his hat and placed it on the hook. "Surprise visit?"

"Always."

Gordon looked at his watch before sniffing his nose, catching a whiff of something good. "Ooh, what's for dinner?"

"Veggie lasagna with a leafy green side, garlic bread…"

"Cookies!" Sabrina blurted.

Melissa corrected, taking her daughter's hand and patting it. "For dessert."

"Well, I'm hungry," Élise replied. "Spencer and I are going to a Celine Dion concert in a few hours, so…"

The families, including Anna and Nathan, who had just arrived, all enjoyed the scrumptious dinner continued before going their separate ways for now.

"Mmm…" Élise groaned, feeling this headache and trying to open her eyes. And when she finally did, she turned her head to see Reid just waking up as well. Placing her hand on her head and moaning again, she steadily sat up and rolled her neck. "Ooh…I guess we had too good of a time with Celine last night."

Reid snickered, rubbing his eyes. He turned his head again, only to find Séraphine not in bed with them. "Where's Fifi?"

Élise shook her head before she realized Isaac was not in his crib. Releasing a suddenly shuddering sigh, she and Reid frantically ran out of the bedroom, nearly tripping.

"Dad!" Reid exclaimed. "Dad, have you…"

"Here you go, princess."

William placed a blueberry pancake on Séraphine's plate and set the rubber spatula down. Facing Isaac as he was coolly in his high chair, "I'll get you your bottle, little man."

He turned around before his head snapped, cracking a smile on his face at the sight of his son and daughter-in-law. "Hi, you two."

Reid yawned. "How long were we asleep?"

"It just turned nine," William looked at his watch before going into the kitchen.

Still feeling a bit confused, Reid and Élise took a place at the breakfast table and helped themselves to a cinnamon roll.

Reid took a small bite and chewed. "Mmm," he licked his lips, and after he finished one, he took Isaac from the high chair and swung him on his knee. "This is good."

"Indeed," Élise helped herself to some assorted fresh fruit that was sitting on the table. "Felt like it was the afternoon rather than still morning."

"That's how I feel sometimes," William agreed after he came from the kitchen with a pitcher of orange juice and a baby bottle. He handed Spencer the bottle and set the jug on the table. He sat down again and helped himself to a biscuit. "Did you like the concert last night?"

Élise swallowed. "Better than I expected; we still have Stevie Wonder to go to tonight."

"What's your New Year Resolution, dad?" Reid asked his father, feeding Isaac his milk.

"Maybe semi-retire," William folded his fingers. "Take a lesser workload. I mean, I made a good amount of money over the years and work's been feeling a bit slow for me."

Élise finished her blueberry pancake. "I think that's a great idea. Personally, I don't know what I want my resolutions to be."

"Same," Reid kissed Isaac's head. "I'm just grateful to be spending my time with you all."

"Aww." Élise gushed and blushed in admiration. "I love you."

William smirked. "I love you, too."

"I luv yoo tree."

Isaac burped.

After breakfast, Reid and Élise took Séraphine and Isaac to the Ethel M. Chocolate Factory for the Cactus Garden Light Display, a playdate with John and Melissa's children, and dinner back at William's place before Red and Élise got ready for the Stevie Wonder concert.

"Shhh…" Reid pressed his finger to his mouth, trying to stop a giggling Élise from walking up the house. After closing the front door, Reid locked it and activated the security alarm. "Élise!"

Élise could barely stop giggling and released a snort. "I feel like a teenager sneaking in after dark. And believe me, I've never snuck out before."

They tiptoed into the guest bedroom, where they saw Séraphine asleep in the king-sized bed and Isaac in his portable crib.

"At least our kids are sleeping," Élise removed her heels and tossed them aside, making a bit of a clanking sound.

"Élise!" Reid scolded.

Élise half-shrugged and snickered before Reid took her arm and gently pulled her to the bed. Reid stared at his signature silver watch.

"Three…two…one…"

Élise entangled her arms around Reid and gave him a mischievous smile. "Happy New Year, my love…"

"Mmm…" the couple engaged in a passionate kiss to celebrate the new year.
