Sins of the Past
Part V
Gale awakens to the sound of his work phone ringing. Leaping from the bed toward his desk, he sees that it is the President's office calling and he tries to sound awake when he answers.
He is surprised when he hears Paylor's voice on the other end of the line, he can tell by her tone that she is angry, and he feels his heart race as she tells him about the dramatics that occurred in the city circle, and how Katniss was spotted by a group of Capitol residents who tried to attack her. She goes on to tell him how other residents near the scene came to Katniss's defense and Capitol security arrived shortly after.
He internally breathes a sigh of relief when she tells him that even though Katniss did not honor the terms of the arrangement, that he would still be keeping his job, for she told him that he was doing an excellent job as a government official and that she wanted him to stay in District 2. But his moment of relief is short lived when she tells him that resistance is growing in District's 2 and 1, and that his work hours will be increasing.
Stating he understood what was expected of him, he hears the nervousness in his voice realizing this might be the first time in his life that he was nervous to speak to another adult besides his mother as he asks her about Katniss.
"About that, Katniss is not going to prison, for her protection and to keep the peace with some of the Districts I want Panem to think she is serving time in prison, but she had an idea that Plutarch and I agreed was a good one. She said she could disappear, live off the grid. She said you knew where this place was. I need you to pack her things and bring them to the Capitol tomorrow morning. Katniss will stay here overnight in the holding cell. She'll need to be out of sight for at least a year, Plutarch took multiple photos of her in the prison uniform we put her in, and we will take more photos tomorrow so we can release them as the months go by."
Knowing exactly the place Katniss was referring to, Gale asks, "Did she say where she needed to be dropped off at? Where this place was?"
"No, I figured since you knew, its better if you handle it. As the government official, you are in charge of handling the District's affairs, including military affairs. Take a pilot and medium sized hoverplane and drop her off where she needs to go. That way should anything happen, it's in District 2's hands."
Gale holds his tongue as he processes what Paylor has just told him. The Capitol is dropping Katniss off to fend for herself in District 13, which means should anything happen to her, should she need medical attention, they won't be providing it. And he couldn't bring her back to District 2 either.
But he reminds himself that going to the cabin was her idea, and that the alternative was going to prison.
"And once a year has passed, she can return to District 2 or 12?" he manages to ask in a neutral tone.
"We can reassess in one year. See where the current state is with the resistance groups and if the Nut is fully secured. If the political situation is more stable, she can return yes, if not, she might have to stay longer."
"Can I visit her?"
"Sure, when and if you have time. Unfortunately, a lot is going on. I know your family is close with her, but your sister is so young, do you really think she'd be able to keep something so significant a secret?"
He does not answer, when Paylor hears only silence on the other end she says, "Gale, I'm not trying to be difficult. I feel for Katniss I really do. I can't imagine the amount of loss she's been through. But for her safety and for your family's safety, I think you need to keep these things in mind."
Before he hangs up, she tells him he will need to arrive in the Capitol with his pilot and hoverplane by 8 am.
The Next Day
Katniss refuses to look at Gale as she walks past him and climbs into the backseat of the four seat hoverplane. Buttercup in a carrier on the floor, she straps herself in as Gale straps himself in beside the pilot up front.
Their flight lasting just under two hours, she sits in silence as she looks out the window, Gale chatting periodically with the pilot up front.
As they approach the boundary of District 13, she hears Gale tell the pilot to land north of 13's main entrance.
Once her bags are removed from the hoverplane's back cargo area, Gale helps carry her four large bags away from the hoverplane and he sets two of her bags on the ground and tells her he will be right back. She watches as he goes over to speak to the pilot and as he walks back over to her, sees the pilot get back into the hoverplane and turn the engine off.
"He's going to wait while I escort you, once you are settled in, I'm coming back, and we are then heading to District 13. They know I am coming, I told them I had some updates regarding the Nut and the resistance fighters that I wanted to discuss with them."
She remains silent as she picks up Buttercup's carrier, slings her bow and arrows over her shoulder and picks up one of her bags while Gale carries the other three. Both mindful of their surroundings, they make their way to the cabin, Gale stays back to keep watch with the bags as Katniss makes her way down the cliff with Buttercup. Thirty minutes later, all her bags are in the cabin, along with her bow, arrows, and companion.
She stares at the feathered mattress on the floor, a painful reminder how their families were supposed to come live at the cabin, and how her and Gale's plans never came to be.
'I couldn't keep them safe, and because of my failure, I'll never be with them again' she thinks to herself. She also thought to herself as she looks around the cabin, that because she can't get past her and Gale's sins of the past, she is now, all alone.
Gale watches as Buttercup comes out of his carrier and cautiously moves around the cabin, sniffing the air and floor around him. Seconds pass before he says, "I gotta go."
"Okay" she says, not meeting his eyes.
"I'll try to come as often as I can."
"Mmhmm."
"I'll find a way; I'll walk on foot from District 12 if I have to."
"Don't worry about me, I've been through worse."
Giving her a look that was a cross between grief and annoyance he says, "I'll miss you."
Her wall of resistance is punctured by his words. Now that she was banned from the outside world again, this time choosing to isolate herself even more, she wanted him to move on, forget about her. Thinking perhaps then she can finally find a sense of relief.
Wishing she could tell him that she will miss him more than he could ever know, she tells him instead, "Well, see you later."
She watches as he turns and leaves, walking away from her without another word.
Three Months Later
Katniss walks along the edge of the lake, taking advantage of the cool, fall morning. Now the end of the September, she goes out early each morning to look for whatever meal she can find. Since she cannot wander far from the cabin to not risk being seen, she stayed close to the lake, staying parallel to the water and hunting along the wooded edge. Since arriving to the cabin three months ago, she's learned while walking along the lake's edge that there is a cave an hour away from the cabin, the only other shelter she's found so far.
She stops as she sees a moose ahead, the large animal's head bent low while it drank from the lake. She quietly pulls an arrow out and aims, knowing she cannot bring an animal so large back to the cabin, she figures if she takes a shot, she can at least bring a piece of it back to last a few meals.
Just as she is about to release her arrow, she sees the moose's head perk up, and a second later she hears the hoverplanes approaching. She quickly darts to the right and into the tree line as she watches the moose take off running past her. Moving away from the tree line, she looks up into the sky and sees three hoverplanes zoom past further out. Knowing whoever was in those hoverplanes could not see below the cliff, it was sole reason she did not climb to the top. For she saw or heard the hoverplanes fly out or into District 13 at least once a week if not more, sometimes seeing as many as six hoverplanes at a time.
She waits a few more moments to see if anymore hoverplanes or hovercrafts approach, once she hears the familiar sound of the wilderness return, she begins heading back to the cabin. When she arrives, she sets out the fishing nets and heads back into the cabin. Seeing that Buttercup was still out, she checks on the supply of wood by the fireplace. Now that it was fall, it got quite cool at night, and she had to begin using the fireplace to keep warm.
Deciding that she better gather as much wood as she can before it too cold to do so, she grabs the ax from the closet by the door and heads into the woods. Having gotten the ax from Gale last month, it has gone to good use.
Only able to visit her once, he came for one day at the beginning of August. Bringing her the ax along with some knifes and another box of customized arrows, he tells her that his cover for the day was that hoverplanes from District's 2 and 1 would be doing flybys around District 12 and 13 to search for resistance groups. He was dropped off at the same spot with the same pilot as last time and would be picked up at 6 pm.
Her flat demeanor returning from the last time they saw each other, she listens in silence as he talks about the resistance groups, how they estimate the number about 2,000 residents total across all of the Districts, with the majority in District's 1, 2, 5, and some in 13. Telling her that some of them are former peacekeepers, and that the President and government officials suspect that District 13's resistance groups are those still loyal to Coin, some still living in 13, some living in other Districts.
She tells him about the hoverplanes coming in and out of the District, and he writes down the description and the time they are going out of and coming into the District from what she can recall.
He then begins telling her about Panem's reaction to her prison sentence. How a sizable group of residents tried to descend upon the President's mansion, demanding that she be released.
"I think this will definitely help, maybe after the new year I can convince the President to let you come home."
"I don't have a home, not anymore, just a house in 12" she says bluntly.
But he tells her that her home is with him and his family, that they've always been a family, because they always took care of each other's families, and always looked out for each other.
Her thoughts now in the present; she tries to push Gale from her mind as she begins chopping wood for the fireplace.
When she returns, she sees Buttercup sitting by the door waiting for her, she also sees a dead squirrel sitting off the side, the cat's gift to her.
"Did you see how my dinner got away?" she says as she passes by him to place the wood behind the cabin, piled neatly in a stack.
Deciding to check the fish nets later now that Buttercup has provided her lunch, she goes inside and lights the fireplace, turning the fire on earlier than she usually does. Getting water ready to drink, an especially useful and time saving device Gale had purchased and given her to use, was a portable water treatment kit. The small box contained bottles of a purification chemical that required only one drop placed in water, and the chemical immediately purified the water making it suitable for drinking. It saved Katniss a lot of time for she did not have to boil any water to remove any parasites, viruses, or bacteria from the water. She was too afraid to try drinking the water from the bathroom and kitchen sink though she had a feeling the water in the cabin was purified.
But she wasn't taking any chances, for should she get ill; she was on her own.
Later that night, as she sits by the lake watching the moonlight reflect on the water, for the moon was full tonight and bright in the night sky, her thoughts turn to Gale and the reason he was on her mind more than usual today. She had brought with her a calendar, wanting to keep track of the days and months for numerous reasons, one of them being to track her periods once her birth control pill supply ran out. She had also begun using the calendar to track her sightings of 13's hoverplanes.
When she woke up this morning, she had seen that today's date was September 25, Gale's 21st birthday.
She wonders what he is doing right at this moment. Is he eating birthday cake with Posy, Vick, Rory, and Hazelle? Was he in another District for work? Was he kissing another girl? Having sex with another girl?
Knowing most likely he is either with his family or working, for he had told her when he came to visit that sometimes he is gone for weeks at a time, telling her the longest he has been gone so far was 21 days without a day off.
But she can't shake the thought that perhaps, he was with another girl. While she knows his love for her has not changed, she also knows by his demeanor from the last visit that their relationship has changed. While things have not been the same since the rebels seized the Capitol, she knows he thought that they would be able to get through their grief together, and that her impromptu trip to the Capitol and exile was because his love was not enough.
What he didn't know, was that her desire to go the Capitol was not because his love wasn't enough, but because she wanted to finally be able to come back to life again, to finally do something that had meaning, not just do it to go through the motions. She thought, if she visited the place where her mother and Prim died, that it would help give closure.
But the visit did not provide closure, and she realized after her arrest, that the Hawthorne's truly were better off without her. If she continued to stay with them, she would eventually pose a threat to them, and her beliefs on this were reinforced when Gale told her how many residents they theorized were resistance fighters.
She looks up at the moon as she wishes him a happy birthday as she takes solace listening to the sounds of the forest at night, and feeling the breeze hit her face as she breathes in the fresh cool air.
That night, as she sleeps, she has a nightmare. Her first nightmare that included Gale since arriving, she dreams that she is in labor, Gale the only person with her as she tries to deliver their baby in the cabin. Her body drenched in sweat; she screams in agony as she pushes her feet into Gale's shoulders. She hears him tell her she is doing great as she continues to push, trying her best to remember what she knew about delivering a baby from watching her mother in the Seam, her fear and stress levels through the roof for she was instructing Gale as she tried to deliver her own child.
As she feels the baby emerge after her final push, she collapses in front of the fireplace in exhaustion. She closes her eyes for a few moments and when she opens them, she looks down at her body and sees that her stomach still has same fullness as when she was pregnant, just not as round, though the pain was immediately gone.
"Gale?" she calls out, looking off to the side and not able to see him.
He comes over a few minutes later holding the baby, bundled up in a white blanket.
"It's a girl catnip" he says happily as he bends down. She forces herself to sit up and he places the baby in her arms.
She screams when she looks down and sees what is inside the white blanket. Instead of a newborn baby, she sees a parachute bundled up instead.
"What's wrong? Beetee and I are just following the same rule book. You know that" Gale says then grins at her before the parachute goes off.
After she sits up, trying to calm herself down, she hears the wolves begin howling, a chorus of howls at the full moon. Knowing most likely they are near the cliff's edge; the howls are so loud it sounds as if they are right outside the cabin. She climbs out of bed and turns on the portable light beside the bed. She sees Buttercup awake and sitting in his cat bed in front of the fire, and she grabs her bow and arrows and stares out the window as the howling continued into the night.
6 Weeks Later
"And you press the button here, and this activates the motion for the perimeter" Beetee shows Gale before handing him the small device.
Currently at Beetee's home in the Victor's Village, Gale had come to District 3 for work, but also to visit with his friend from District 13. But he also came to see Beetee for another reason.
In early October, Gale had visited Beetee while in District 3 investigating a lead they had been given with information regarding the resistance groups. He had disclosed to the former Victor the truth about Katniss, that she was not serving a prison sentence. While he did not tell Beetee Katniss's exact whereabouts, he did disclose that she was living in the forest, and Gale expressed his concerns that with winter approaching, that wild animals would be drawn to Katniss's shelter, posing a threat.
Beetee offered to design an automatic weapons system, a system that could be set up around the perimeter of Katniss's shelter that was controlled by a remote system once the system was set up. When activated, if movement was detected within so many feet from the perimeter, shots would be fired from the guns placed on tripods. The guns automatically firing when detecting motion.
Now the beginning of November, the system was built and ready. Beetee showed Gale that the system he built supported six guns, and all Gale would need to do at this point is get the ammunition for the guns.
Feeling more at ease that Katniss would have more security at the cabin, his next task was getting the days off he would need from work, for he wanted to spend longer than one day with her. He has not seen her since the day he came to visit in August, and he missed her more and more each day that passed. While he was still hurt that she continued to push him away, he knows that a part of her still loved him, for if she didn't, she wouldn't have asked if she could go the cabin.
He knows that if she had totally given up, she would be in prison, or worse, no longer with him and his family.
He knows that by her still having the will to live, means she wants to go back to the way she once was, to find meaning in life again.
Three Days Later (The Capitol)
Gale waits outside the back of the pharmacy building. He looks at the time on his military watch and sees it is 9:12 am. Having arrived at 9:05 am on the dot as she asked, he begins pacing back and forth in the front of the back door, anxiety rising wondering if she was not able to get what he requested or if she changed her mind.
Suddenly, he hears the doorknob turn and the backdoor push open, making a loud sound. He sees her emerge, wearing black dress pants, a black sweater, and a light blue medical coat.
He has visited her at this pharmacy before, but has never asked for any favors, before when he came, it was a visit to check on an old friend from District 12. He thinks perhaps she might have gotten the wrong impression by his initial visits, but he knows she probably got the hint he was not visiting to rekindle the past after his most recent visit, for what he asked her to do was not something he'd ask if he was interested in seeing her again.
When she closes the door behind her, she hands him a small bag. He takes the bag and looks inside and sees the packets of birth control pills inside.
"There's enough packets in there to last 12 months" she says in a tone he can't quite decipher.
"Thanks for agreeing to help, I really appreciate it" he says as he secures the bag.
He then takes out his wallet and hands her the money they agreed upon. She takes the money and counts it, taking only half and handing it back to him.
Confused, he looks at her and says, "We agreed on this amount, take it."
But she shakes her head and says, "We order supply in bulk. As the head assistant, I keep track of all the inventory and enter everything into the computer. When the shipment arrived, I saw that the company sent more than what I ordered. I snuck the pills into my purse and only counted what remained, so my boss doesn't know that we had been given extra, what is entered is entered."
"All the more reason you should take it."
"Trust me, this is more than enough. But I appreciate your offer, just don't let this become a habit."
He nods his head in understanding. "How are things? How is your family?" he asks.
"My family is okay, still getting used to living in the Capitol. But they like our apartment and my parents like their jobs and my brother and sister like their school. But I think my folks would like to get back to 12, you know people are starting to go back right? I also heard they plan to build a big medicine factory there."
He nods his head, for he did know about the plans for the factory, long before the residents did.
"But they might have to wait to return, my boss is recommending that I get trained to be a pharmacist here in the Capitol."
"Wow! Daisy, that's really great. I'm happy for you."
"Thanks. Definitely not something I'd ever thought I could be living in the Seam."
"You will be a great pharmacist, whether it is here in the Capitol or back in 12."
"I have to get back to work, people tend to trickle in around 10."
"Okay, thanks again."
"Gale" she calls out as he turns to leave.
"Yeah?" he says and turns around, so they are face to face again.
"She's not in prison is she?"
He does not respond but gives her a look that answers her question.
"I think only people from 12 can understand that the girl on fire isn't like everyone else, that she can do things no one else can. I'm assuming she's back in 12 hiding in the woods. And you two…." and she makes a gesture with her hands indicating that he and Katniss are as she would put it, 'fucking'.
This time he does respond and says, "Yeah, we are."
"I know, I suspected it back in District 13, I saw you two together in the cafeteria. You barely paid notice to me down there, not like when we were in school. And I knew it the minute you asked me for this favor. Guess you two were more than just the dynamic trading duo at the hob."
Remembering the times he felt neglected when Katniss dismissed him when she focused her attention on Peeta, he says, "Daisy-it's not that I don't like you. I do, I always have. You are fun and smart, and I'm sorry that I didn't make time to talk to you in 13. But I love her, she needed me in 13, and she needs me now, more than ever."
"It's why I only charged you half."
He smiles and bends down and gives her a kiss on the cheek then whispers into her ear, "You're the best" before turning around and heading off.
"Second best" she whispers to herself before heading back inside.
The Next Day
Katniss walks slowly as she takes her morning walk. Always on the lookout for whatever animal is in range to hunt, today her main purpose for walking was to clear her mind. Going almost a week without a nightmare, last night she had one of the worst ones yet, for she dreamed about her father, mother, and sister, each one taunting her that she should join them right before they took their last breath, Katniss watching them die right in front of her in the dream.
She did not want to travel far from the cabin, for the minute she woke up she heard hovercrafts and hoverplanes flying by. She could tell by the sound that they were traveling fast. Normally she would have stayed inside the cabin, but due to her anxiety she had to get out and get some fresh air.
As she walks back to the cabin, she abruptly stops and pulls out an arrow. She sees a large black backpack right outside the cabin door.
She suddenly hears a twig snap, and she turns around, her weapon drawn. Before she can see who is behind the trees she hears Gale shout, "Whoa! It's just me-you're alright."
She lowers her arrow as she sees him emerge. Wearing the black military outfit he wears when on official business for District 2, she sees he is wearing black boots and sees a gun strapped to his body.
Realizing that it was his bag in front of the cabin, she says in a low voice, "You came back."
He gives her a gentle smile as he says, "I went around back to see if I could find you there. On my way here I saw quite a few deer, one walked right past me. I guess they don't know whose territory they just entered."
She drops her bow and runs into his arms, desperate for the touch of another human being. She feels his arms wrap around her tight. They stand in silence as he holds her.
When he visited in August, he could tell that she was happy to see him though she didn't say she was, seeing her now and the desperation in her embrace, he fears the isolation must be taking a toll on her mentally.
When she finally releases her grip, he touches her hair gently. Her hair down, he sees it is longer now, halfway down her back. He realizes in the six years he has known her; he has never seen her hair this long.
"How long can you stay?" she asks.
"I'm off for 7 days, after all those weeks I had to work without a day off, I finally got the approval to come here."
He sees the look of relief on her face, knowing that he won't be leaving before nightfall.
"I have something for you" he says and motions for her to follow him.
Hesitant at first to climb up the cliff, for she had not climbed the cliff since arriving, he tells her that District 13 will be preoccupied checking their radar due to the numerous flybys that would be occurring. Confirming that the flybys were again arranged to distract District 13, he tells her he was dropped off at his usual spot and that he will be picked up there in exactly one week at 8 am sharp.
When she gets to the top of the cliff, she sees why he needs her help. She sees a cart at the edge of the cliff, with three large boxes stacked on it. Carefully taking multiple trips to get the boxes down the cliff and the cart down last, once everything is placed back on the cart they head inside the cabin.
She stares in shock when Gale opens the boxes and she sees two guns inside each box, totaling six. He then takes out a small black rectangular device and turns it on, watching as a small holographic image appears above the buttons.
"What is this?" she says in confusion.
"Something I had made for you. This device is linked to the guns, and the guns are motion censored. Any animal or anyone who is within thirty feet of this cabin will be sorry" he says as he begins calibrating the device.
"What about Buttercup!" she shouts in alarm.
He looks up at her and says, "Don't worry, I'm setting the motion censor to detect motion for movement above thirty pounds, the smaller animals will be fine. And-you can choose when to turn it on, this is for your protection now that winter is approaching."
She nods her head in understanding and watches him silently. Once he is done, he shows her which button to push to turn the censor on. They then head outside to determine the best spots to place the guns. Four guns are placed behind the cabin spaced apart, with the remaining two on each side. Placed on tripods, she watches as the guns move from side to side as Gale tests the censors with the device in his hand.
An hour later, Katniss cooks fish on the fire as Gale unpacks his clothes. As they begin eating lunch, he hands her letters from Rory, Vick, and drawing from Posy. Katniss gives a small smile as she sees the picture of all the Hawthorne's, along with Katniss, and a small round orange cat in the corner of the page, representing Buttercup.
"Make sure to tell her I love it" Katniss says as she takes the drawing and places it above the fireplace on the mantle. Katniss placing the letters on top of her large stack of unopened letters from 12.
"They miss you" he says, the pain evident on his face.
"Where do they think I am?"
"My mom and I think it is best if they think you are in prison."
"Does your mom know where I really am?"
"No-no one knows. All she knows, is that you are living in the woods, I would guess she thinks you are back in 12, since we are…so familiar with it."
"Makes sense" she says.
Once they are finished eating, she goes over to the closet and comes back with a small object in her hand.
"Here, I made this for you. I know it is not much, but I wanted to give you something for your birthday" and she places the object in his hand.
He looks down and sees she has made him a necklace. A necklace made of small smooth black stones.
He looks back up at her and before he can say anything she says, "It's stupid I know, I'll get you something you like for your birthday next year, when I'm finally allowed to be out in public again."
He stands up in response and grabs her hand and says, "It's not stupid, it's perfect."
"You are just saying that."
"I'm not, I love it catnip."
Realizing he has not called her 'catnip' in over a year, for he did not call her catnip after arriving in District 13, a sense of euphoria overcomes her. Unsure if it was due to being in the company of another human or something else, she leans up and kisses him.
The soft feel of his lips familiar, yet unfamiliar, for she refused to kiss him on the mouth while staying in his room, she needs the feel of his lips on hers, needs the feel of his tongue in her mouth.
They kiss each other with hunger, desire, and pain, and she tastes the saltiness of his tears that have now fallen. Now sitting on the bed, she closes her eyes as she trails kisses down his face and begins kissing his neck.
As she reaches down, placing her hand down his pants, he abruptly pulls away from her and says, "I forgot, I brought something for you" and he gets up and goes over to his bag, much to her displeasure.
She eyes him curiously as he unzips the side pocket of his backpack, removing a small bag. When he brings the bag over to her, she is shocked when she looks inside the bag and sees it is multiple packets of birth control pills, the same exact packets she has.
"This is the brand you were prescribed right?" he asks timidly.
"Yes, how did you know?"
He shrugs and says, "When I had to pack your stuff, I wrote the name down. I figured you would need more pills."
"I have enough to last until the end of the year" she says defensively.
He gives her a look of sympathy and says, "If you have to stay here longer, I thought you'd want to have them."
"Does this mean-"
"You know I will try to come as often as I can. And…we can't risk anything. I mean, unless…"
"No! I can't get pregnant again-I can't even think about that right now" she says sharply.
"Okay" he says quickly, and he leans forward and hugs her for he sees she is visibly shaking. After a few moments she pulls away from him and looks at him and says, "How did you get this?"
"I have my ways" he says giving her a sly smile.
She rolls her eyes as she says, "I'm sure you do" and leans in for quick kiss. She then takes the small bag into the bathroom and places the packets in the tiny but organized bathroom closet. As she stacks the packets neatly in a pile, she takes the last packet and holds it to her chest, thankful that he was able to obtain more birth control pills, most likely illegally, so that they can be together without the constant worry and fear that she will get pregnant again.
Later that night, with the fire burning keeping the cabin warm, she lays on her back near the bottom of the bed, her legs pulled up around Gale's shoulders, she moans softly as he forcefully yet gently pushes in and out. The third time making love that night, they found themselves unable to stop showing each other how much they missed one another. They began in front of the fireplace, before moving to the bed. With complete privacy, she was more comfortable trying things they hadn't done before and let him know that.
As her moans increase in intensity, she feels his body move down closer to her and she feels his lips on hers, automatically opening her mouth to allow his tongue to enter, she quickly orgasms, and hears his moans of pleasure soon after. Thinking they were finally finished, she begins whimpering as she feels his hands move down the front of her body, stroking her most sensitive spot as he places kisses over her face, before kneeling on the floor in front of the bed, sliding her forward to wrap her legs around his shoulders once again as he places his tongue inside of her.
Once he is finished and both totally spent, she reaches for him as she sits up and kisses him deeply as he faces her at eye level while he kneels on the floor.
Stroking her back, he forces himself to pull away from her as he gives her one last kiss and says, "As much as I want to keep this going, I'm getting pretty tired, how about a shower with me?"
Moving her fingers through the front of his hair, she touches his face with her other hand as she says, "We can't, it's too tight of a fit."
"I don't remember it being that small when I used it" he says scrunching his face in confusion.
"I've been using it for five months, trust me, it was built for one person, not two."
"Sure you don't want to try?" he says teasingly.
She grins as she says, "You first, I'll go in after" and he kisses her forehead in response before rising off the floor.
As he goes over to his backpack placed by the fireplace, he unzips the top and says, "Oh that reminds me, I also brought for you soap and hair products, I wrote down what you had in my bathroom and got it at the store."
"Thank you" she says sweetly as she moves up the bed and gets under the covers, for she was starting to get slightly cold.
