Someone reminded me that it had been forever since I've updated.

Enjoy.

This story is almost over.

Yes. This is a slowburning Bori story. Please have some patience with me. :)

Living in the now seemed like a perfect dreamland for the ex lovers. As soon as they came out of the woods and straight into their group of friends, who all stood quietly watching their every move. The sound of branches crunching under their weight.

"What?" Beck growled.

"Nothing." A variety of voices was heard.

"Jade, can we talk?" Beck asked as he nodded towards the benches by the parking lot.

Adam looked at Tori standing awkwardly by herself, Cat made a beeline for her best friend, "we're going to take a walk to the lady's room!"

"Wait! Tor-" Adam reached for her, Tori looked back at him with a sad smile and shrugged as she let Cat pull her away.

"It'll be okay Adam." Ella hugged her best friend.

"I hope so." Adam sighed heavily, as he stared at the girl he miserably fell for, as she walked into the bathrooms. He knew she was slipping from him every step she took further away.

"Spill. Details. Every single one of them. I'm ready. Lay them on me."

"Whatever you're thinking, don't. Nothing happened. We talked, we cleared the air about yesterday, about the last almost three years. We just talked. Civilly, normally, without being under a microscope. You guys really suck at being discreet, ya know."

"Yeah, yeah," Cat said, waving the words away, "details."

"Nothing worth repeating Cat. I promise."

Cat's bottom lip came out in a pout, "poo. I thought for sure you guys were going to get it over with, all the sexual tension between you two, it was suffocating in the car. I thought this fight would ignite some kind of light on this pent up frustrations."

"For your information, I've been pleased during this trip, as a matter of fact." Tori said proudly.

"Yeah, i dont know how much more Adam is going to take being the third wheel."

"Was he upset?"

"Oh, more than upset. It's like someone took a puppy and a car, and the car was running a hundred miles an hour, and the puppy thought the light was pretty so it went in front of it and-"

"Okay, okay! That's enough of that. Thanks." Tori said sadly.

Adam was the last person she wanted to hurt. She was really feeling true feelings for Adam, but Beck will always be the one to hold her heart first. Tori wasn't even sure if she was ready to give Adam, or any guy, that treasure ever again. Beck had done a number on her, and that will take time to heal. First step in healing was really letting go of the past and their actions.

She needed to live in the now, no matter how hard that outcome may be. If she had to hurt a little more, that was a sacrifice even she was afraid of facing.

Tori walked out and saw everyone waiting around for them to come out of the bathroom, Beck and Jade were still talking in the benches but it looked like they were almost done. No one dared to actually stare but Tori could see it, even with a quick glance.

They were both crying.

Beck never showed how vulnerable he could truly be. A side Tori was the only one to have ever witnessed, that is till today.

Her heart hurt for him, and even Jade, but mostly for herself.

Beck may not be over her, but she knows that he was in love with Jade. As vile as that sounded, the boy who held her heart, held someone else's.

"Where's Adam?" Tori asked.

"He grabbed a cab. I think he's done with camping in the woods and is heading home today." Brody said in a stern voice. As if he was blaming her. And Tori knew part of him was. Because it was her fault.

"What? No." Tori's heart quickened, "I need to talk to him."

"Leave him be Tor, you really do know how to do a number on these guys. All Adam has ever wanted was a true chance with you. You knew how he felt! He asked you if you were okay with it ALL! You lead him on! For what?! To make Beck jealous? Adam has loved you for YEARS! Years! And you never noticed. Till now. Till you had to face your demons. You selfish, conniving, bra-"

Brody's jaw slacked as Beck's fist collided with his face. Brody stumbled backwards. Andre held back Brody, Robbie held back Beck. The girls were huddled together, Tori slipping out of their arms, her body shaking with fear and heartbreak.

"You never talk to her that way. If you have a problem with anyone it should be me. Don't you ever raise your voice to her. Yell at me, punch me, leave Tori out of it."

Tori stood there, with her heart cracking, she looked down at her phone, looking for a quick Uber. She needed to talk to Adam.

Brody was right, he had a harsh way of saying it but all he said was true. Tori knew she wasnt completely over Beck. Part of her maybe thought it would've been fun to have someone new to wave in front of Beck. Give him a taste of his own medicine. But she should've known better. Tori has been in Adam's shoes.

The more she spent time with him the more she was actually feeling something. She was letting go, slowly and not at the speed Adam was hoping for.

Her phone rang, letting her know her uber was a minute away, slipping further away from the group she looked for a blue Mazda.

Once she found it, she quickly got in, ignoring her friends' calls.

"Tori?" Her driver Becky's voice chipped. Her strawberry hair flowed past her thick shoulders, her fair skin sprinkled with freckles, her car smells like strawberries, and she saw she had a box of snacks.

"Hi, Becky. Thank you for picking me up."

"No problem doll. Blue Meadow Cabin sight?"

"Yes please." Tori's voice cracked as she wiped at her face. The last thing she saw was Beck and Brody face to face, Jade was crying on Danielles shoulders. Cat and Robbie were trying to pull Beck off as Andre and Ella were trying to hold off Brody. She did this.

All because she had this instinct to help Beck. Every single time he was in trouble.

"Everything okay?" Becky asked her visibly upset passenger.

"I hope so." Tori smiled sadly.

In the twenty minute drive back to the cabin site, Tori tried to call Adam. Her phone rang non-stop. She felt so bad for Becky to have listened to her cry into his voicemail. She probably thought Tori was a nut job. If she did, she didn't seem like she was paying any attention to her, and for that she was going to give her a big tip.

"Whatever it is, darling, he'll forgive you. You just have to be honest with yourself. Allow forgiveness into your heart and it'll show you the path you've always been searching for."

Tori smiled as she nodded. She closed her door and saw the blue Mazda drive off.

She sighed as she saw the light on in the cabin. A single silhouette moving around. No other cars in sight.

She cleared her throat and wiped at her make-up, smudged face. Time to face the music. Tori made her way inside as calmly as her heart and legs would allow.

"Adam?" Tori called out.

Adam's back was facing her, his body moved hastily as he was stuffing his bags with his belongings. Tori was stepping forward, Adam not noticing her presence. She was inching closer till she stepped on that squeaky floor board they discovered their second night in. When Tori drunkenly stepped on it over and over, they thought it was the funniest thing in the world.

Adam sighed, Tori closed her eyes as more tears fell down her face. She could practically feel his heart break. She would know how that feels. She's a pro at that subject.

Tori snaked her arms around his waist and held him close to her chest, their body's shaking with tears. Adam's sensitivity was one of the things so refreshing to Tori and one of the many reasons she wanted to be in love with him. But her heart was always with someone else.

"Why Tori? Why did you let it go on?"

"I was letting go, Adam, I was! I just have almost a ten year history with someone who I haven't seen in two years. I'll always be there for him. Part of me will always be with him."

"What about me?! What about being with me? Completely giving yourself to me like you've been letting me do with you! You've let me believe that you were really getting over him, that this, us could be a thing! You lied to me!"

"I didn't know I was! Adam please!"

"Forget it Tori, fucking forget it." Adam went back to packing.

"Stop it! You are not leaving anywhere! Not without fixing this! Fixing us! Please!"

"There is no us Tori, never has been has it? For me, you were it. You've been it since the first day I saw you in the quad."

"Let me explain." Tori pleaded in between tears.

"I can't be here, this is breaking me." Adam said in defeat. He sat on the bed.

All Tori could think of doing was sitting next to him as she hugged him. Adam's breath shaked as he hugged her back.

Meanwhile, Beck was riding in the back with Robbie, Cat and Jade. He held a block of ice in a bag, to his eye; after exchanging a few heated words with Brody, he slipped out of Andre and Ella and returned the favor. Beck smirked cause it really was a gnarly punch. He knew he deserved it. Beck knew Tori was not over him, he could've eased off of her. But Tori and him were good together. Even after all the bullshit. They were good for each other. A little chaotic, but they synced together. Everyone saw it. Even Jade, who wasn't mad at the fact that she was tricked into going on this trip. No she was livid with Beck for letting her believe he was in love with her.

He sighed as he leaned into the seat, staring at the back of Jade's head, trying to read her mind. She's been quiet since the punching began, and that's when the guilt started to sit.

Beck never intended for all his past shit to come out like vomit, he should've expected it but he was being ignorant.

He sighed as the car stopped in the driveway, and there, right in a spotlight thanks to the headlights of the cars, sat Adam and Tori, sharing a blanket, holding each other with small smiles on their faces.
