Here we go, my dear friends, the Black out episode/chapter has begun. I've recently watched a video about Inque and her origin, which was even sadder than I thought when I first saw her in the show, so her personality will be a bit different than in the show. Other than that, it'll go the same, but with extra scenes me and SreznoJIG have planned. Anyway, enjoy the chapter, my dear friends.
Blackout
At the company of Foxtecha
A lone truck drove up to a building owned by Foxteca and things seemed quiet. But unknown to anyone, a strange black blob soon slipped out from the shadows and sneaked into the main control room before forcing its way into the controls and causing several explosions throughout the building. When the fire department arrived, the blob managed to escape in one of the trucks...but not before turning into a beautiful female human form before looking at the destroyed building with remorse before leaving the area.
The next day at Wayne-Powers
Bruce was in an elevator, planning to speak with Powers, who unknown to him or his new employee/protege Max had no idea how he could have survived the Nerve Gas he had been exposed to while also hoping to investigate why Powers was attacking Foxtecha, which was owned by Lucius Fox, Jr, Lucius Fox's son, who Bruce still supported even after all these years.
As Bruce arrived at the top floor and Powers' office, the corrupt CEO, who strangely looked completely normal, greeted him smoothly. "Come in, Bruce. What a pleasant surprise. How have you been holding up?" He asked as he held out his hand to shake Bruce's.
"With a cane." Bruce answered with a glare.
"Hahahaha! Very clever." Powers said with a laugh before they walked to his desk. "I must say it's nice of you to be taking an interest after all these years." He said before closing a file that Bruce got a look at and quickly memorised due to his photographic memory. "You should come by more often. I'll set you up with the finest office in the building, just not this one." He said before seeing Bruce touch a decoration. "I'd prefer you not touch that."
As Bruce took out a small day to wipe his forehead on, he walked up to Powers and said. "In case you're worried, I didn't come here to set up shop again."
"Bruce, you misread me. I never worry." Powers lied.
"I just came to say this: keep your hands off Foxtecha. I may not have the leverage on paper anymore, but I still have friends. The Foxes were a valued part of this company for years. I'd hate to find out Wayne-Powers is involved in these attacks." Bruce warned, knowing that Powers was the one who was sabotaging Foxtecha.
"Bruce, let me put your concerns to rest." Powers said as he led Bruce to the elevator. "I'd never do such a thing. Why, Lucius. Jr was still Vice president when I took over." He said as the elevator went down.
"I know. You fired him." Bruce said with great disdain for Powers firing the son of one of his closest friends.
"Yes. Well, had to make room for the new guard, didn't we?" Powers asked as the elevator stopped at the next floor and he saw Max, sitting in a nearby waiting chair while wearing her trench coat. "The Gibson girl."
"I work for Mr. Wayne now." Max told him as she walked up to her employer/mentor.
"Yes. I suppose with your family gone, that would make sense that you'd need a job to cover your expenses." Powers said with an obvious smirk at Max, who used every ounce of her will not to punch him right there and then before she and Bruce began walking to the next elevator. "Goodbye." Powers said before going back up to his office.
So, did you at least figure out how he survived that Nerve Gas or at least beat the info out of him?" Max whispered to her mentor.
"Not exactly. But I do have some things to check out." Bruce answered as they entered the elevator.
"Okay if I hang out with my friends tonight at the school game? I promised I'd meet them after not seeing them in weeks." Max said, wanting to see her friends tonight.
"Only until I need you." Bruce answered as the elevator closed.
Meanwhile in Powers' office
Powers sat in his chair and told his assistant over the intercom. "No more interruptions."
"Yes sir."
Suddenly, the object that Bruce had touched suddenly spoke in a female voice. "That does not make me happy." Before revealing that it was the shape shifter who sabotaged Foxtecha last night, who oozed over on the desk.
"Don't worry about Wayne. That performance was just to remind me he's still breathing. And barely, I might add. I'll send him an extra basket of oranges this Christmas and he'll be happy."
The shape shifter then morphed into a beautiful human form, impling that she may have been a normal human in the past. "Perhaps I should consider other options for money."
"Don't even think about it, not unless you don't want this." Powers said with warning as he presented the woman with a cash card that contained 4 million credits.
Although she was thinking of every reason to just ooze out of the building right now, the money was just far too tempting for her to pass up, so she took the card and asked with reluctance. "What's the job tonight?"
Later tonight at the school game area
People were cheering as the Gotham Hawks were winning the game of hover ball in the gravity field, with Nelson Nash slamming one of the opposing team members hard against the wall as Terry and Dana watched, winking at them and at Max, who just glared.
Dana didn't like the way he did that and asked her boyfriend. "Is it wrong for me to root for the other team?"
"Not under the circumstances." Terry answered with a smile.
"So, how are you holding up?" Dana asked with interest.
"Well, my mom is doing great at work, same as me at my job and Matt's still a bit annoying but other than that, we keep the bills paid, food on the table and we're getting by great." Terry answered before looking at Max, who had her arms crossed as her trench coat was on.
"What about Max?" Dana asked with concern for her african american friend, as she'd been worried about her ever since her family was killed.
"Honestly, she's been... keeping to herself lately. Obviously she's still grieving over what happened. But her job seems to keep her busy, especially since she's working part-time for a billionaire. And the money keeps her in the apartment she moved into above ours. And as a bonus, the extra money me, my mom and brother get from her helps out occasionally. And she even visits sometimes, too." Terry answered honestly.
"I know it's been really tough on her, having to live alone after that night, but at least-" Dana said before Max cut her off.
"I have Terry and his mom and brother to help me through it. I know." Max said with a smirk, having heard everything, surprising Dana and Terry. Suddenly, her phone rang and she answered. "Yeah? Be right there." She said before hanging up.
"Let me guess...Mr. Wayne?" Dana asked knowingly.
"He's certainly got you on a leash, doesn't he?" Terry asked with a sigh.
"He needs me." Max told her friends.
"We know but...it just isn't normal." Dana said with a frown, as they'd barely seen Max since Mr. Wayne had given her this after school job.
"Believe me I know." Max said as he grabbed her backpack and walked out of the arena. "But you 2 have no idea how not normal this really is." She whispered.
Meanwhile at another Foxtecha building
The shape shifter woman had oozed into the main control office through the ventilation system and got to the main computers before she reluctantly oozed into the keyboards and caused some explosions. Fortunately, she checked and made absolutely sure that there was no innocent person nearby. While it was true that she did kill once, she quickly felt remorse and vowed to never kill another person again, but would still sabotage since she needed the money.
Meanwhile
Batgirl was flying to the other Foxtecha building while speaking with Bruce through communications. "Wayne, you there?"
"Go ahead."
"Is there any time of day that I get to have a social life?" Batgirl asked her mentor.
"Not in this business."
"Really. Maybe it should be you here instead of me...or at least both of us together. I mean, if you were still young, it could probably be like in your day, only with me, it would probably be like the past and present mixed together." Batgirl said with a smirk as she landed on the building across from Foxtecha, thinking that if Bruce were still younger, he could still be Batman and they could probably be working together, just like in his time.
"I appreciate your thoughtfulness, but I'm already doing my part." Bruce said while looking through a microscope to see what this strange black substance was that he'd gotten from Powers' office.
"Which is?" Batgirl asked.
"I've done some digging after I saw a report on Powers' desk. It seems he and Foxtecha are up for the same job. The government wants a new lunar station, but only 1 of them gets to build it." Bruce explained.
"So that bastard's crippling the competition with sabotage." Batgirl concluded, knowing that Powers would do anything to eliminate any competition or threats to his power.
"And until we can stop him, you're Foxtecha's guardian angel. Now what do you see?"
Batgirl then used her mask's zoom feature to see what was going on inside of the building and saw that the computers were exploding. "Looks like someone's calibrating the 4th of July inside their office. I'm going in." Before gliding into the building and began looking for clues while keeping her eyes open for anything bad. But unknown to her, the female shape shifter was right above her, moving in for an attack as Batgirl was investigating a small part of her.
Meanwhile, Bruce saw that the piece of the blog he was investigating broke out and attached to his scope, making him realize that the rest of it was closing in on his protege. "Gibson, get out of there."
Batgirl looked behind her and saw that a black shape shifter had grabbed her before she was tossed into one of the computer screens before the shape shifter grabbed her again and used Batgirl to break more of the screens before she was tossed into 1 of the hard drives... before the new Dark Knight brought out a a electric Batarang and threw it at her, electrocuting the female shape shifter and making her scream before she quickly got it off her and escaped through the ventilation system.
"A shape shifter." Batgirl said with a serious look, having read and studied about the old Batman's old enemy Matt Hagen, Aka Clayface, especially the weaknesses that her mentor had used to fight him in his time.
Later at the Batcave
Max, who had taken off her mask, was talking with Bruce about the female shape shifter she'd just encountered earlier. "So it's a shape shifter we're dealing with. By the way, thanks for warning me."
"Still, you have to learn to think on your feet." Bruce told his protege. "But how did you know to use an electric Batarang when you've never encountered a shape shifter before?"
"Well, I've studied up on some of the major enemies from your day, even Clayface and his weaknesses before my parents pulled me off the subject to make me focus on school and other things. But I at least studied on Clayface and Poison Ivy. Guess I've just met my first rogue: a combination of both Clayface and Ivy, right." Max answered as she looked at a statue complete with an outfit of her mentor's childhood hero.
"Seems like it." Bruce answered as he brought up the files of the shape shifter but no picture on the Batcomputer. "Her name's Inque. She's a corporate saboteur. Interpol's been after her for years."
"What is she?" Max asked while walking up to Bruce.
"The results of a mutagenic experiment. The details aren't known."
"Well, I know her weaknesses, but I still have to find her fast before she strikes again." Max said with seriousness.
"I've got just the thing for that. This is where thinking on your feet comes in." Bruce said with a smile.
Later
Batgirl was flying around the city in a new Neo-Gotham Batmobile that Bruce had personally designed years ago to be partly controlled by his final Batman suit and even designed the Batgirl suit for the same purpose, as it was of the same design.
To say that Max had been amazed at the flying vehicle was a complete understatement, as she thought that the car was extremely cool. "This is unbearably cool." Batgirl said as she put her hand on one of the controls and let the suit do the work with easy gestures despite having fun driving her own version of the legendary Batmobile.
"Remember. Easy gestures. Let the suit do the work."
"Wahoo!" Batgirl yelled with excitement and joy. It was a good thing she'd gotten her license a few years ago, so she wouldn't have to worry about getting caught, especially in a vehicle like this.
"Mind not doing that?"
"Sorry." Batgirl said.
"You scratch it, no allowance." Bruce warned her.
Meanwhile at another part of Foxtecha
Inque was oozing under a crane, intending to bring it down on the boat below her but she looked and saw that people were on it. While she did need the money, she just couldn't bring herself to hurt or possibly kill those people, so she just sabotaged the empty vehicles instead, making absolutely sure that innocent people were not hurt.
But that was when Batgirl showed up, destroyed the moving vehicle and quickly caught up with Inque in the Batmobile before ejecting herself right onto the female shape shifter! When Inque gathered herself, she changed her hands into maces and while she hit Batgirl with her left one, the new Dark Knight quickly used a small electric knuckle duster to hit Inque's left arm, causing her pain before the shape shifter tried to get to her but she used an electric Batarang to hurt Inque more when she landed on the metal disc before Inque swatted it away and got close to Batgirl's face.
"You're a very fast learner are you? And I see you're very determined to stop me. I like that." Inque said before briefly turning her face into its human form, making the new Dark Knight blush through her mask, which Inque noticed with a seductive smile. "Oh... I'm guessing that you're also...a lesbian, aren't you? Hahahaha. Never expected to see this." Before Batgirl smashed the disk down after snapping out of her trace. But Inque just oozed out of it and smirked. "Ah, thinking I'm beautiful but because of what I'm doing, you have no choice but to stop me. I respect that. But just to be clear: I only do what I do for the money and I don't kill anyone while I'm at it...not anymore at least." Before she tried to get away by going to the lower level.
But Batgirl quickly followed her by gliding down with her wings and getting in front of her, before noticing that Inque looked at her sides and seeing that she was surrounded by water, which she figured was another weakness of being a mutant shape shifter like she was. "Water's another one of your weaknesses, isn't it? Not surprising considering that the old Batman's rogue Clayface had the exact same weaknesses you have." She said with a smirk before kicking some water that Inque dodged before oozing under the floor and making it go up as Batgirl ran before jumping off into the water, allowing Inque the chance to escape, but not before smiling at Batgirl in her human face.
Later the next morning
Powers was flying through the city in his limo while talking to his secretary about Inque's job last night. "Unfortunately, last night's damage was minimal. Their still meeting their schedule."
"Splendid." Powers said sarcastically before Inque oozed in and changed into her human form.
"We need to talk."
"Yes we do. What happened?"
"Someone's been interfering. This is the second time and she even knows my weaknesses, too." Inque said with secret admiration for whoever was interfering with her jobs.
"Who?" Powers asked.
"Well, she wore a costume. Black and yellow."
That was when Powers' skin was suddenly starting to shed, showing the glowing radiation under it as she spoke out the name of the one who turned him into this. "Batgirl."
Inque was surprised, as she'd heard of the legendary Batman, who'd fought against crime in Gotham for years before he disappeared, while also hearing of Batgirl, who'd been his partner for some time before she'd disappeared before Batman, presumably giving up that life and had retired or died on a mission, whichever, she didn't know. "The Batgirl?
"What difference does it make?!" Powers asked with a bit of force.
Inque was surprised when she looked at Powers and seeing what was happening to him. "What's happening to you?"
"I have a condition. I trust you'll be discreet." He answered as he looked in his mirror. "I'm putting you on a new assignment: find this Batgirl and kill her."
"No! I told you I don't kill people anymore, you know that!" Inque said with anger at being asked to kill someone, as she'd vowed long ago that she wouldn't kill anyone else anymore. "But, I could at least find out where she hides out. And she's not alone either. I heard her speaking with someone over a radio link. I'll find out where they're hiding and once I've gotten away, I'll come straight to you and tell you everything."
Powers seemed intreqed by this proposal and smiled. "So be it. Find their hiding place and tell me everything after you've dealt with them. But I won't pay you until everything you've learned about them is brought to me and not a second before. Now I suggest you leave. It's not healthy to be around me when I'm shedding." Powers said as the skin on his hand was falling off slowly before Inque oozed out of the vehicle and started planning on surprising Batgirl when she met her again tonight.
Later at night
As Batgirl was keeping an eye on another Foxtecha building, she saw an explosion and knew that Inque had struck again. When she'd gotten to the Batcave again, she told Bruce Inque's motivation for working for Powers and that she told him that she didn't kill people anymore, but Bruce, being who he is, told Max to be prepared for anything and to not be lied to, as he had been in the past. She got the Batmobile to the building and got out to look for the female shape shifter while talking to Bruce. "Looks like the damage was minimal this time. I'm looking for Inque but if she knows I'm here, she's more than likely blending in or has gotten away by now."
Unknown to her, Batgirl was right, as Inque had blended in and seen Batgirl while she was investigating part of herself as she spoke to her ruthless employer. "She's here."
"Good. But remember, you don't get anything from me until the job's done, at which point I should be back to my old self." Powers said to his employee while getting his doctors to put another synthetic skin on him to cover his radiation.
As Batgirl continued to search for Inque, Bruce spoke to her. "There's nothing you can do now. Come home." He told her as the new Dark Knight saw that the Fire department was coming before quickly getting back into the Batmobile and flying back to the Batcave as the fire department had arrived and put out the fire.
A bit later
As Batgirl was flying the Batmobile into the cave, spend noticed that the car was going a bit slower than it usually would. "The car's feeling a little sluggish tonight."
"Park and I'll run a diagnostic." Bruce told his protege before she did just that, allowing Bruce to run the diagnostic on the Batmobile, seeing that something was making it too heavy to move at top speed. "It's too heavy."
When Batgirl got out of the car, Inque had oozed off it and stood behind her, which Batgirl had noticed, as she'd trained herself to master her senses, including her hearing. But it was too late, as Inque had quickly grabbed the new Dark Knight and pretended to hurt her by pushing her into the walls before seeing that the old man was gone, allowing her to get Batgirl into the air all the way to the ceiling as she shifted her top half into her human form.
Inque then smiled seductively before gently pulling off Batgirl's mask before only her mouth was showing. "Hope you enjoy this, Dark Knight." Before she then pulled Batgirl in for a very long lust filled kiss, much to the new Dark Knight's surprise and shock before she slowly closed her eyes and began to kiss back.
It didn't take long before Batgirl slowly wrapped her arms around Inque, with both of them moaning as they became lost in the kiss. "Mmmmm. Mmmmm. Mmmmm."
"Mmmmm. Mmmmm." Inque moaned as she played with Batgirl's tongue with hers... before she was suddenly struck by water from a fire hose, sprayed by Bruce, who put on the hat and eye gear of his childhood hero.
After Batgirl glided down, having put her mask back over her mouth, she looked at Bruce, still surprised at how great a kisser Inque was. "My god. That was…"
"Do I even wanna know what happened up there?" Bruce asked, raising an eyebrow under the eye gear.
"Believe me, you really don't." Batgirl answered before Inque oozed back together and headed for the door.
But as she tried to get out, Bruce quickly closed the door with the metal doors. "Someone's got a secret." She said before trying to ooze through the doors before Bruce used the electric system built in the door to stop her!
Batgirl had no choice, as Inque was going to reveal the Batcave to Powers and she couldn't let anything compromise her, her boss/mentor or their greatest secret. So, very reluctantly, she quickly grabbed the freeze gun used by the original Batman's rogue enemy, Mr. Freeze and used it to freeze Inque as she was fully recovered from the electric shock she'd received and tried to get to the ceiling while she screamed as she was completely frozen in a block of ice that shattered when it fell to the ground!
"All right, old man, you're showing me everything." Batgirl told her mentor, making him smirk.
Later in the morning at the police station
As things were going normal, Commissioner Barbra Gordon, who had taken over after her retired and died, suddenly answered her ringing phone. "Gordon." She answered before hearing a familiar voice. "I figured I'd hear from you. Word is you've wrangled a new erred boy."
"Girl actually. And I never wrangled anyone, every one of you came to me."
"Wait...are you saying that-" Barbra asked with surprise, thinking that someone had actually took up her old mantle.
"Yes. Batgirl has returned. And although she's young, her fighting skills and intellect are almost equal to even my own. I don't suppose you want to meet her?" Bruce answered while admiting that Max's fighting skills and intellect were almost equal to his own, which was rare for him to admit to anyone, even Max.
"You know I can't, but she sounds like a very bright girl. Maybe you should have talked her out of it." Barbara said with doubt for this very bright girl.
"Would it have worked with you? And by the way, she's leaving you an introduction gift right now." Bruce said, making Barbara open the blinds on her window before she saw the still frozen Inque, who's eyes were still moving even if frozen, hanging from a hover machine based off the Batmobile. "I'd keep it on ice." Bruce advised before Barbra saw the Batmobile fly away from the police station, making her have a serious look on her face.
There you go, my dear friends, the Black out episode is complete. Sorry to everyone who's been waiting 2 weeks for this chapter.
