Creator questions
Who is your OC today?
Kaddreirth
What animal are they?
Dragon
What do they look like? Special markings, colorations, etc.
Typical red dragon. Red scales everywhere except his underbelly which is gold. In his natural form he gives a 747 a run for its money size wise. Typical western dragon physiology with four legs, two wings, long neck and tail.
What inspired you to create them?
Dragons are cool. But beyond that having this great super intelligent being that has a different meaning of the words: Long Term Goals. Just interested the hell out of me.
What are they like?
Kaddreirth the personification of a dragon. He has massive wealth and titanic amounts of power. He is the third longest lived being in the Wilde Files universe.
He taught Karma magic, he was there when mammals ran around on all fours still trying to kill each other. He is one of the original signatories of the Unseelie/Mammal Accords.
He generally likes mammaldom but he also has other concerns as well.
What's their family life like?
That is a complicated question.
Do they have a love interest?
Multiple
Do you have any stories written about them or that they're included in?
He makes his first appearance in Wilde Files: A Wizard's Path.
For the purpose of the OC interview the setting is the creator's OC is about to be interviewed by my co-owned OC Vicky Chola. A north american grey fox vixen in her mid 20s. The characters are located in the vault where Kaddreirth hoards his gold. The interview we did earlier about the creator and their OC is considered a pre conversation between these two before going on the air. Vicky will ask questions based on the answers provided by the creator. Enjoy!
"My name is Victoria Chola, a contributor for the Arcane magazine publication. Today I'll be doing an interview with a dragon living in Zootopia by the name of Kaddreirth. Thank you for letting me speak with you Mr. Kaddreirth."
"You are most welcome Victoria. I am flattered and a bit intrigued by your publication's request for this interview."
"May I ask why that intrigues you? We do cover all things related to magic after all."
"What's intriguing is why now? I have been here for... some time now, watching and nudging here and there."
"Well, you aren't exactly a public figure. Your very existence was just a rumor I was investigating when I sent in my request."
"It's good that your publication is doing its due diligence on a certain wizard's exploits then. As for not being a public figure... Its exhausting and... dare I say confining."
"You sound like you've tried that role before."
"I have at times. But I meant in a more literal sense. Condensing this much magnificence down into a form that won't cause mammals to scurry is truly exhausting. But it's not as if I can catch a buffalo on the run these days, mammals frown on that sort of thing."
"So you can shape shift?"
"Is that so surprising? Yes I can lounge here on my bed of gold but even I find that...tiring after a while."
"Well, I suppose I came here with no expectations. How often do you leave here and do you have a form you prefer?"
"It depends on the company I'm keeping that evening. But typically larger mammals are an easier form to hold, but even then there are some things I cannot change. Like my eyes and well my teeth but most mammals overlook those. Mammals cannot overlook my eyes but modern society and all its wondrous inventions make those trivial to hide."
"You say modern society, may I ask, how long have you been alive?"
"I remember a time long before the accords. Long before mammals walked on two legs and developed speech. It was a simpler time one where I could sunbathe on a mountain top. Later swoop down and catch some lunch on the run. Mammals evolving has been an interesting and profitable process to watch. I no longer have to dig to increase my horde's size. Nor do I have to deal with peaky dwarves. It's easier to simply employ you to do it for me."
"Um, w-what constituted lunch during those times?"
"I have been reminded by my Majordomo that it would be rude of me to speak of such things. But I have always found Vulpes to be intelligent and cunning mammals so I'm sure you can figure it out."
"I'm not actually a vulpes but I think I get the idea."
"Tell me though, do you enjoy lab grown meat? Bison ribs are still a particular favorite of mine."
"I'm omnivorous and I've found synthetic meat to not agree with me. Have you ever considered revealing yourself and offering your knowledge for historical corrections?"
"Why should I? Do I look like I wish to spend the rest of my days fighting mammaldom because they wish to put me in a neat little box and study me? Besides I signed the accords and have abided by the agreements I have made."
"Are you referring to the Unseelie Accords?"
"Of course I am. I understand that you mammals signed accords to keep you from eating each other. For all the good that did you as you still fought wars over it. But that was not a concern of mine."
"What did you agree to in the accords?"
"Mundane things, when and where I couldn't eat... Keeping my presence to a minimum, recruitment and a few other odds and was shortly after that, that Mrs. Fawnsworth's family came into my employ."
"How did they come into your employment?"
"Their family has always seen to my more public affairs. Investments and the returns on those investments. This gives me the means to see to the betterment of Dragon's under my care. It's worked well for me in the past... however long.``
"Is it only their family under your direct employment?"
"No, it's just they have been employed the longest. I'm not sure how many mammals at this point are employed by me. I don't really concern myself with it."
"I don't suppose you'd have an opening for an investigative reporter by chance?"
"With the size of the organization that I operate, I'm sure we could find a position that we both could find agreeable."
Barely contains an excited squeal before clearing her throat and returning to a professional demeanor "So you stay out of mortal affairs but what about the arcane? Do you still play a role in that realm?"
"Of course. The faye and elves have mostly retreated to the NeverNever. They come out from time to time in smaller numbers. The dwarves toil still in their mountain homes. I have at times played diplomat to any number of issues between different races and states."
"What is your opinion on the current state of affairs in mammaldom?"
"Regionally I think Mayor LIonheart is doing a reasonable job. I don't fully agree with the land usage bill proposed by Herd's and Grazing. I think increasing the grazing area inside the city proper isn't an efficient use of space when so much of the city's food is shipped in from the Borrows. But I understand it's being championed by his assistant Mayor so he might not have much choice. World wide? I doubt if peace in the middle east will ever be possible even within my lifetime. The old drake who's territory that lies in has never been a peaceful sort, but I guess we all find our amusements someplace. Was there a particular issue you wanted to talk about?"
"So, different dragons have territories around the world? How many are there?"
"There are not many of us. The Truly Ancient Dragons. Maybe 5 or 6 of us left. Other drakes like the blues and greens? Well just here in Zootopia proper there are around 20 or so. World wide? Maybe less than a thousand. The Jades though are fairly secretive of their numbers so it's hard to tell."
"Do you believe there will ever be a time when the two realms will be open to each other? Where magic will be practiced openly?"
"I would like to hope so. There was a time when mammals could get along and here we are with a rabbit about to openly marry a fox."
"Well, thank you for your time Mr. Kaddreirth. This has been a most interesting experience."
"The pleasure was mine Miss Chola please make sure Mrs. Fawnsworth gets your resume and we shall see about finding a position for you."
After leaving the facility Vicky turned in her article to the publisher. However, she left out the part where she submitted her resume.
