My favorite movie is Zootopia, and I found the fandom (was never part of a fandom before) and haven't left since!
What roles do you play in the zootopia community?
I moderate a few servers and try to be positive and friendly to everyone. I also made lots of high quality Zootopia gifs on tumblr.
Who is your OC today?
My only OC is my fursona/zoosona, Hammy -a King Cheetah. (Full name Rex Abraham Miavana)
What animal are they?
King Cheetah
What do they look like? Special markings, colorations, etc.
King Cheetah markings, -spots that morph into stripes down the back.
How did you learn about the king cheetah?
Google I guess. LOL I saw a picture long ago and was curious why that cheetah had different marks on the back.
What inspired you to create them?
Cheetahs are super fast, but not for long, and are very introverted; so that describes me well. Lol
What are they like?
Like me, Hammy is also a Photographer and single; only he's more successful.
What's their family life like?
Hammy lives on his own, but has a great relationship with parents and siblings.
Do they have a love interest?
Aside from a couple RP storylines, Hammy has no cannon wife/girlfriend yet; but he wants a wife and litter of Cheeto cubs eventually.
How much of Hammy is a sona and how much is an OC?
Well, a sona counts as an OC I think. An OC used to represent me.
Do you have any stories written about them or that they're included in?
So far, the only backstory for Hammy is he was born in "Madacatsgar" and moved to Zootopia shortly after, due to business opportunity for his father that provided a better life for his wife and 3 cubs.
Tell us how you see culture in Zootopia. For example, do all foxes or rabbits have the same culture or is there a difference depending on subspecies or region?
I think culture in Zootopia would be a lot like the US. People can come without having to let go of their culture, while still sharing the general culture of Zootopia. A "melting-pot" -as they say.
Ultimate Zootopia question. Are you a WildeHopps shipper or do you prefer them with a different ship?
WildeHopps OTP
For the purpose of the OC interview the setting is the creator's OC is about to be interviewed by my co-owned OC Vicky Chola. A north american grey fox vixen in her mid 20s. They're both in a studio booth with headphones on and microphones to speak into. The interview we did earlier about the creator and their OC is considered a pre conversation between these two before going on the air. Vicky will ask questions based on the answers provided by the creator. Enjoy!
"Welcome everyone to another edition of the Characters of Zootopia show! I'm your host Vicky Chola and joining me today is Rex Miavana. Thank you for joining me Rex."
"Good evening! Happy to be here, Vicky!"
"Do you just go by Rex?
"Most mammals know me as Hammy"
"Hammy? That's an interesting name."
"Haha, yeah, it's just a nickname that caught on"
"No cool story behind it?"
"Well, back when I went to church youth group, my friends started calling me Hammy, cause my middle name is Abraham. I thought it was cool, so I stuck with it."
"That's cool. So where did you grow up?"
"I was born in Madacatsgar in 1994, and a couple years later my dad moved us all to Zootopia because of a business opportunity, so I was basically raised here in Zootopia! It's a wonderful place!"
"So you probably don't remember much about Madacatsgar do you?"
"Nah, I was just a little cub."
"Do you still have family there?"
"Some extended family like grandparents that I still keep in touch with."
"So what do you do for a living?"
"Professional Photography and a little bit of video production and 3d design"
"Oh really, have you worked on any big productions?"
"No, just small local films, but I've photographed some big stars here in Zootopia, like Gazelle! That kinda kick-started my career, you could say."
"How is that?"
"Unfortunately, it's a hard profession to be taken seriously, so It's nice to have your photographs plastered on some of the largest billboards in the city!"
"With everyone now having access to photography equipment that is so user friendly, what do you see the future of professional photography being?"
"Tough question to be honest... It's hard to tell my own future sometimes."
"Well, what are some things that professional photographers offer that the average person may not realize?"
"Having a studio in the city with a professional printer helps. My clients don't have to wait as long for physical prints."
"That's certainly convenient. What about things like filters and lighting effects?"
"Of course, anything to fit the client's needs."
"So let's get to some more exciting stuff. You've had the opportunity to do some photography for some pretty high profile mammals. How did that happen?"
"Good timing I guess! My bills had already been paid right before I got paid for a wedding, so I decided to spend most of it on online ad space and other integrated social boosting features provided by any platforms I used. I really went overkill as a sole-proprietor, but within a month, millions of mammals saw my ads and I gained thousands of followers. When I got the notification that Judy followed me and liked a lot of my photos, I thought it was really sweet; and when she actually messaged me about photographing her wedding, I nearly fell over! haha! It was beautiful. Many celebrities were there who I gave my cards to, and my photos were shown internationally as the news of the first Fox and Bunny marriage spread."
"That's quite impressive. I remember their wedding was a pretty big deal and a lot of celebrities wanted to be seen as a part of it. What kind of work came out of that kind of publicity?"
"That's quite impressive. I remember their wedding was a pretty big deal and a lot of celebrities wanted to be seen as a part of it. What kind of work came out of that kind of publicity?"
"Wow, that's pretty cool. So what now? What's in your future?"
"I'll just see where my talents take me. I can do a lot of different things, but I don't really want to give up on anything. I'm curious to see what more I can learn and do to help make the world a little more creative."
"Well we here certainly look forward to seeing what else you create. I'm afraid that's all the time we have for today though. Thank you so much for coming on today."
"My pleasure! Thanks for having me on!"
"And thank you listeners for tuning in once again, see you next time!"
