The next day
After persuasion from Shinichi, they can get out from long police questioning easily and so they are on their way home. Shinichi is sitting in the front with Conan held on his lap while his friends at the back. Haibara fell asleep in the car while the rest of the kids talking to each other while Conan play with his phone looking at the news
"Hmm… there was a robbery murder on Beika first district" said Conan showing the news to Shinichi
"Robbery murder huh… last time I took on that case two months ago" said Shinichi remembering
"Ah when you force me to stay with Professor Agasa right"
"Hehehe sorry sorry"
Ayumi, Genta and Mitsuhiko whisper to each other and then goes near the front seats
"Nee we're been wondering" said Ayumi to the brothers
"You two are very close, but have you two ever fight?" asked Mitsuhiko
Conan and Shinichi were surprised by their question and look at each other. Conan then look at his friends again
"Well we always do it on murder cases if our deduction clashes" said Shinichi
"Also we sometimes fight over books at home" said Conan
"How about a big one? Like you two didn't talk to each other for a long time" asked Genta curious
"Hmmm I think we never have that kind…" said Shinichi remembering
"If we fight like that, it will only bring bad luck to one of us" said Conan looking in front of him as if remembering when their fight at Tropical Land
"Yeah… last time you two have a big fight, Shinichi got into the hospital for a month and Conan didn't attend school for a month" said Professor Agasa
"Oi Professor!" said Shinichi angrily
"Ah sorry…"
"Well that was in the past…" said Conan trying to not get that in his head
"But what did you two fight over that time?" asked Ayumi
Shinichi and Conan look at each other and Conan seems don't want to answer so Shinichi the one who told them
"That time… we're not as close as now, to put it on words, even nobody will not see as a brothers by how distant we are back then" said Shinichi"
"Eh?!" asked three of them
Haibara who already wake up due to the kids talking too loud became interested hearing Shinichi's words
"Oh yeah you two were not as close as now. You two rarely meet each other since Conan-kun live in LA" said Professor Agasa
"Yeah, I only meet him few times… on my first birthday when he visited LA, at New York with Ran-neechan two years ago and Hawaii year ago" said Conan remembering
"That's surprising… knowing you two are very close now" said Ayumi surprised
"So what is the fight?" asked Mitsuhiko to Shinichi
"That will be a secret…" said Shinichi while looking outside
"Ehh! no fair!" shout three of them
Professor Agasa just laugh by the kids reaction but then his eyes look at the grade schooler on Shinichi's lap which to be squeezing his pants. Shinichi look at his brother's hands and just stare outside the window with a serious look as if remembering what happen between them that time. The very moment with his little brother that he regrets so much
Flashback
At Tropical Land
Shinichi and Conan both are waiting for the others at the bench near merry go round and castle. Conan was quite tired since Ran basically make him go here and there even though they just barely arrive to the amusement park
"Ran-neechan sure have a great stamina" said Conan while drinking water
"Yeah… she does Karate after all so that's why her stamina is better than any normal girls" said Shinichi beside him
"Karate huh… I see"
Conan look at the rollercoaster for adults that he can't ride to his age and height so he just stare at it with a bored look. Shinichi look at him closely and then look away when Conan notice his stare
"Man this boy is very hard to read" thought Shinichi looking away
"What is he thinking?" thought Conan looking at his big brother
Both of them just sit there without talking to each other at all as if they're strangers.
"Oh yeah, I have been wondering" said Shinichi to his little brother
"What is it?" asked Conan looking at him
"Why do you suddenly move to Japan with me?"
Conan eyes shot up and then look away which surprised Shinichi. He was surprised by his little brother behavior, well he also at fault for asking now after a week Conan moved to Japan along with their parents staying for a while
"Dad suggests me to live here, is there a problem?"
"Not really, it's just our parents will be back to LA in few days… talking about bad luck, I already used to leave alone due to both of them leave me here so it will hard to adjust"
"So you are hoping I didn't move?" said Conan with his voice start to get lower
"Eh ah no no that's not what I meant, I mean… You are born in western environment not to mention you should have been studying there instead here"
Conan start to grit his teeth and glare at his big brother
"Just say it properly. You don't want me around right?" said Conan glaring
"Oi I don't meant by that, also don't glare at me. I'm your elder"
"By your character, you have a body of a high schooler but have a grade schooler mental inside. What a waste"
"What did you say you brat?!"
With that both of them start a mouth fight while standing up which of course taking people attention around.
"BAKA DETECTIVE GEEK! I HATE YOU!" shout Conan in anger
"AHH THE SAME AS YOU BAKA GLASSES BRAT!" shout Shinichi
"Shinichi! Conan-kun! Stop it already, everyone is looking!" said Ran tried to calm down the two brothers
"Oi oi, Yukiko… teach your kids some manners" said Kogoro bluntly
"Well to be honest, this is the first time I see them fighting" said Yukiko who's looking both of his sons
"This is bad Yukiko…" said Yusaku step up to both of them
Before Yusaku help Ran, Conan run away from them to somewhere while Shinichi just turned away angrily. Yusaku run to follow Conan while the others stay with Shinichi, Ran was angry of course but Shinichi doesn't care at all. With that Yukiko tell them to play together while she and Kogoro wait at the café, Yukiko told Ran not to worry since Yusaku already with Conan and it's the best for her not to bring up the fight until Shinichi calm down
Few moments later
Shinichi and Ran are now walking by the amusement park with drink on their hands. Ran look that Shinichi seems already calm down and suddenly look down unlike his usual look
"Shinichi?" asked Ran
"Ran... Did I went too far" said Shinichi in low voice
"I don't know what happen Shinichi but I will not ask much for now... but... I don't why, you two are brothers but you guys act like strangers"
"Eh?"
Both Shinichi and Ran then stop by at the Ferris wheel and they got on it. Both of them look at the view before talking again
"Why do you mean by earlier?" asked Shinichi
"Well... I think because you two rarely seen each other? You only see him three times right, at his first birthday, when we go to New York and when you go to Hawaii" said Ran while counting
"Yeah... he always stuck with my mom all the time except at Hawaii, he always close to dad and always near us when dad taught me some things. Though he seems to know me more than I did since he call me detective geek like you and Sonoko did"
"That because, Conan-kun ask about you yesterday"
"What?"
Ran just smile and then face the window while looking at Tropical Land view
"He asks about what is your favorite things like you really love coffee and you're a great soccer player, he also asks about what you don't like to eat or do. Also I did say some like Sonoko and I call you detective geek or mystery geek but... When I about to tell him about how you act when you become a detective, he stop me and said that he will ask you himself so that he can have a conversation with you later"
Shinichi just surprised hearing Ran's words and then look at the window showing a regret look. He also realizes that he never try to know him when they are meeting each other so that's why people didn't thought that they are actually brothers.
"Also did you know... that he likes Sherlock Holmes just like you" said Ran smiling
"Eh really?! but I never see him read it" said Shinichi surprised
"He said that he read it at school and sometimes on his own room. When I ask why he didn't read at your library and he said that... It's Shinichi-niichan favorite reading place, I don't want to take his favorite place... It seems Conan-kun always sees you reading there so he doesn't have the power to read there"
"He addresses me as big brother to everyone except to me huh..." thought Shinichi
"Don't worry, I'm sure he will call you big brother. There will time when he can finally open up with you and you also need to open up with him. It's hard seeing you two being so distant"
Shinichi just smile to Ran as a yes and thank you for telling him about it.
"I'll apologize to him later..." thought Shinichi serious
After hours passed
Shinichi, Ran, Yukiko and Kogoro are waiting at near exit for Yusaku and Conan who have been playing by themselves. Suddenly Yusaku came and tell them that he lost Conan, with that Shinichi grit his teeth and run to find him
"I shouldn't even fight with him! What am I thinking! He's just a grade schooler" thought Shinichi angrily to himself
Time Skip~
After Shinichi got shot and Conan was beside him while pushing his wound so that the blood stop coming out. Shinichi notice his act seems to be very precision as if he sees his twin instead a little brother
"Conan…I'm sorry for making you angry earlier today" said Shinichi in apologetic and pain voice
"I will forgive you if you stay awake! Please don't talk more" said Conan while pressing Shinichi's wounds
After hearing that Shinichi try his best to stay awake until ambulance goes toward him and then he passed out
Time Skip~
Shinichi open his eyes and start to adjust the room light and he realize that he's in the hospital. He look around and notice a body beside him, it was his little brother sleeping. Shinichi try to sit up and surprised to sense a pain on his back. Suddenly someone comes in which to be his father
"You really surprised me Shinichi" said Yusaku
"Dad…"
Yusaku just give a small smile as he tucks up his jacket on Conan's body who's asleep
"He have been looking after you since you save him. You were asleep for two days after surgery"
"Eh?!"
"He never leave your side, he was serious taking care of you until you get out from the hospital. Your mom and I were worried that you two can't be close like brothers but by the looks of it, you two are close"
Shinichi become serious looking at his sleeping little brother
"No dad… I never tried to know him more when we have vacation at Hawaii or when I visited to LA and New York… That time when we fight, I even told him words that I shouldn't say to him… I'm not a proper big brother for him" said Shinichi while closing his eyes serious
"Then, you can start now" said Yusaku while holding his shoulder
Shinichi shot up and look at his father who give a gentle smile which he rarely give him. Yusaku hold Conan's head with his other hand
"There are many reasons I move Conan with you and one of them is to give him a feeling how it feels to have a big brother… and you to learn how to be a big brother for him and feel of having a little brother and..."
"And?"
"You can ask him directly. I have no right to tell you… All I can say is, don't judge the book by it's cover Shinichi. As a detective, you should have notice it too"
Shinichi start to understand what his father means and then nod to him. Yusaku then call the doctor to check him up without waking up Conan. Moments later, Yusaku bid farewell since the hospital only permit one guardian each patient. Shinichi then look at the window which shows a night sky, moments later the grade schooler start to wake up and surprised seeing his big brother
"Finally you wake up" said Conan give a relief smile
"Sorry for worrying you…" said Shinichi awkwardly
With that silence comes between them. Conan take some water for him and for his big brother which he gladly take it. After moments of silence, finally Shinichi have a courage to look at him
"Conan… about our fight, I-"
"It's fine, I already forgive you"
"Eh?"
"I told you right, I will forgive you if you stay awake that time which you did until the ambulance take you" said Conan with a small smile
"But I have no right to say that to you… you are still a little kid, I shouldn't told you those words that would hurt you, I'm sorry"
Conan just smile and then take his big brother's hands and look at him
"Nee… it's fine, I understand everything. I run away because I was upset not by your words but by something else"
Shinichi then look at his little brother and then slowly put his hand on Conan's head and gently pat his hair which Conan can't help to enjoy it even though he didn't tell him
"Conan… tell me everything about you…" said Shinichi smiling
Conan was surprised by the sudden request and didn't expect to be asked so bluntly which is unlike his personality
"I want to know more about you..." said Shinichi sincere
"Okay… maybe for starters… I may a grade schooler due to my age but my real education… is the same as you, Shinichi-niichan"
Those words surprised Shinichi, first of all the fact that he just call him Niichan and second is the fact that in front of him, a body of a grade schooler yet he tell him that he was actually a high schooler
"Eh? wait you're a first year high schooler?! How?!"
"Dad notice my potential that I can perfectly remember everything that I learn without hassle. When I was three, I self study Japanese language which I done it in one week. I study materials for grade schooler and middle schooler when I was in preschooler so dad took me to school that accept child prodigies and because of that, I skip grades right to high school"
"Now that you mention it... we did have a good Japanese conversation at New York two years ago... Then why you move to Japan? Not to mention, enroll to an elementary school"
"If I stay… I will never have a proper childhood"
Conan just look down and then show a sad smile as if remembering what happen to him before
"I was the only six years old on that class while the rest are your age. I can't have conversation to any of them due to my age so I don't have any friends and sometimes there are people who force to friend me so that I can help them with assignments and exams since I always take first place in class. But as time goes by, my classmates see me as a threat. Because of that, I was bullied for few months… I can't fight due to my height and strength so I always take every blow they gave me…"
Conan raise his shirt which shows a scar on his lower stomach. Shinichi just stare in horror and disbelief by his little brother's revelation
"One day, one of my classmate scratch my stomach with a knife that suppose to be used for Science class due to anger when I got perfect score in midterm exam. Luckily that time, the teacher notice and take me to hospital. I told mom and dad the truth which dad then suggest me to move to Japan with you which I agree and I ask to restart my education here as a grade schooler as I suppose to have… well that's summarize who I am…"
"But why I don't know any of this? Mom and dad never told me anything"
"Well since you live far away from us and you didn't ask anything so we figured you should try to deduct it yourself. Well that's what dad said"
"That mystery novelist and deduction maniac…"
Conan just laugh when Shinichi slightly angry to their father
"But then… why do you lie to the police and other people the fact that you are my brother?"
"Kudou Conan was supposed to be a high schooler right… I prefer not to say that because I'm scared if someone start to investigate about me and found out about it… That's why it's better for people in Japan don't know about me being a Kudou family through mom was against it"
"But dad agree and support you right?"
"Yeah, at first he also against it but after looking the situation, he agrees but he said that someday I should tell everyone the truth until I properly ready"
Shinichi try to consume the whole truth about his little brother. Every time Shinichi felt that he's seeing Conan as a twin instead of little brother and the fact that he rarely act like a child make sense now.
"I may have based knowledge of high schooler but I'm still a seven years old so there should be time I snap into my proper age. That I want to play and have friends of my age… I want to feel all of that" said Conan with a sad smile
Shinichi then didn't think much and pull Conan over and he hug him closely which surprised the grade schooler
"Conan… thank you for telling me, you really have a hard time… I'm sorry… I never tried to talk to you more and know you. I should have give you a big brother figure but in the end, I failed it"
"What are you saying… you already prove it by protecting me. It's enough to prove yourself as my big brother though I really hate it when you did that" said Conan who hug him back but gently
"Thank you… Conan, I promise to make it all up to you from now on"
Conan can't help to smile as he heard him, both of them stay there for a while until Conan let go of him and then stretch his body right to Shinichi's feet and face him with a smile
"Now it's your turn" said Conan
"Eh?"
"I also never act like a little brother too… I never really call you big brother before… I only know you as a high school detective, mystery geek, your endless love to Sherlock Holmes and some little things from Ran-neechan…"
"Okay enough with mystery geek but of course" said Shinichi smiling
With that both of them talk to each other and Shinichi told everything about him and of course Ran and Sonoko as his childhood friends. Since then, both of them always talk to each other and share interests on mysteries to develop their sibling relationship. They didn't know that from that very moment, they also develop their skills to read each other minds on that very day just like how they did to their father
Back to present
Shinichi snap out from his thoughts and then look at Conan who play with his phone. Shinichi quickly hug him from behind secretly without his friends looking at them
"Niichan?" asked Conan with his thoughts
"Nothing… just glad that you're my little brother" said Shinichi smiling and talk through his thoughts
"Hah?"
Time Skip~
At Kudou's house
"I see… you remember our talk in the hospital huh" said Conan while putting some of his dirty clothes to the basket
"Hahaha can't help to remember when your friends ask about our fight that time"
"Well ever since that, we never fight like that again since our interest are too identical to each other which make it hard to fight"
"Since you told me that you are also interested in Sherlock Holmes" said Shinichi as he cook dinner for them
"Thanks to you mystery geek, you give me A Study in Scarlet book for my fourth birthday. After reading it, I became interested and I borrow all Sherlock Holmes book in the public library because of it"
"Oh yeah since all mystery books are in here and dad only bring some for materials and stop calling me mystery geek already"
Conan just smirk and then put all dirty clothes to the washing machine, he then goes to the kitchen and sit on the chair waiting for dinner. As they are eating, suddenly Shinichi's phone rings which to be Ran
"Yes?... Yes he is with me now…Eh speaker? Okay wait" said Shinichi on the phone
Shinichi speaker his phone so that Conan can hear it
"You two! You have to hear this, I just won tickets to aboard Aegis Destroyer ship!" said Ran happily
"No way…" said Conan while dropping his spoon
"Hahaha as expected of your luck Ran..." said Shinichi laughing
"That's why we all should go there! Conan-kun, invite your friends too" said Ran
"Eh? is it alright?" asked Conan surprised
"Um! I already contact Sonoko too, let's all go there"
"Okay okay… alright" said Shinichi
Shinichi and Conan look at each other and then smile since they know what they will do next weekend after all. But they didn't know that they would meet a disturbing case on it

Finally I update after a month not updating hehe. I was actually fighting with myself on what Movie should I use for the next chapter since it trigger at the end of this chapter. This chapter also half reference to Episode ONE

Next chapter will be another one shot. By the end of chapter you guys should have guessed what will the story approach to and of course, I will twist it so it will not identical like in the original Movie. Just like what I did at the Revenge Encounter that is using Movie 4:)
