"Well that's basically what we do for the whole day" said Conan
Detective boys are on their way home after school and talking when Conan take a day off from his own school to look out for Shinichi to study
"Shinichi-san sure have it tough there" said Mitsuhiko
"Blame him for being a mystery geek" said Conan while rolled his eyes
"He means having a little brother who force him to study after work" said Haibara
"Hahaha"
"You sure are evil when it comes to Tantei-niichan" said Genta
"You will understand, on how many times he's being a stupid, selfless, clueless and over the top brother and detective. Also do you have to call him Tantei-niichan?" said Conan with annoyed and mocking sound
"You really are not slow when it comes to him huh Conan-kun" said Mitsuhiko laughing
"Well I already stuck with him for a year now, trust me... being his little brother is grateful enough instead being his twin…"
"Speaking of twin, I heard there's a new twin tower near Mount Fuji"
"Eh really Mitsuhiko?" asked Ayumi interested
Mitsuhiko use his phone to look for it with Ayumi and Genta right behind him to see while Conan and Haibara just stay on the side didn't bother to join them
"Speaking of tower… I haven't heard any news from that magician for a while" said Conan as he remembered
"Now that you mention it, it's been month since your last notice battle" said Haibara looking at the glasses boy
"Maybe he finally take time to rest… I already tired fighting him two times in a month"
"I'm sure pity Shinichi-san for taking care of you like this"
"Should that be the opposite"
Moments later, all five of them goes to Professor Agasa. Conan doesn't need to go home early because Shinichi said that he have to make project with Ran and Sonoko so Conan just want to stay at Professor Agasa since he know that the project will be take a long time to make. The three kids still doesn't let go of the new twin tower
"Professor! Take us here this weekend!" said Mitsuhiko while showing the picture of the twin tower
"Yes Professor, take us here!" said Ayumi
"We want to see it closer" said Genta
"Hmmmm… well I don't mind if we just want to see it in closer look" said Professor as he sees the picture
"Yatta!" shout three of them
Conan, Haibara and Professor Agasa just laugh at their excitement for going to the twin tower together
Time Skip~
Professor Agasa and Detective boys are now in front of the twin tower and look at it in awe. Suddenly they saw a taxi comes and the people who goes out are Ran, Sonoko, Shinichi and Kogoro. Ran look around and much to her surprised to see them too
"Conan-kun!" shout Ran surprised
Conan look to the front and much to his surprise to see his big brother there. He quickly run to him while Kogoro point at him surprise to him and his friends as well
"Why all of you suddenly here?" asked Conan
"Aahh three of us are at the agency until we caught Mouri-tantei want to go somewhere quietly. Ran force him to tell and so you can tell the rest" said Shinichi with bitter laugh
"Hahahaha…"
Moments later, Mio's secretary let them in the tower and show them around. Conan goes to his big brother and they look around and talk to each other like no one is around them which somehow displease the others
"There it goes, Conan-kun only talk with Shinichi-san" said Mitsuhiko
"Even though he always badmouth him" said Ayumi in bored look
"Well can't helped, they are hopeless brothers" said Haibara in sarcastic tone
"I can hear that you know" said Conan unhappy
Shinichi just look at the kids interaction to which make him smile. Haibara look at the brothers interaction suddenly make her mood fell and look away. Conan seems to notice Haibara sudden mood change
"What's wrong Haibara?" asked Conan
"No… it's alright" said Haibara while looking away
Before Conan press more, they arrived to the showroom and see a lot of inventions to which pleases Professor Agasa. Yoshiaki Hara, an executive and programmer for Tokiwa, presents his newest invention which is a machine that can predict what someone will look like in 10 years. They are all interested and so Professor Agasa and Ayumi goes first to try out. But to their surprise to see Professor Agasa's face is the same while Ayumi change
"You look very cute Yoshida-san" said Haibara praising her
"Thank you Ai-chan!"
"Ohoo that's really a look of a high schooler" said Shinichi right behind Ayumi
Mitsuhiko and Genta then try it too and their appearance as a high schooler seems make them down a bit. Ran then encourage them and tell that they look cool for their high schooler form. Sonoko and tries out, Sonoko didn't happy seeing her look while Ran's picture shows her a very beautiful look.
"Ran-oneesan you look very beautiful!" said Ayumi brightly
"You look like Eri when she was young" said Kogoro who sees the picture
"Woah…" said Conan, Genta and Mitsuhiko in awe seeing Ran's picture
Shinichi just silently look while blushing seeing Ran's picture. Sonoko then grin and shove Shinichi to the machine to which really displease him but he have no choice to do it. After that, Shinichi was surprise to see his look to be quite identical to his father when he was young. Conan snatch his picture to which make everyone sees it. Conan seems surprised seeing his big brother's 10 years in the future
"Shinichi-san look very handsome" said Mitsuhiko admiring Shinichi's picture
"You look like Yusaku-Ojiisan without mustache and glasses" said Conan giggle and address his father as his uncle since Hara is there
"He really did look like Yusaku-san before he marry Yukiko-chan" said Kogoro look impressed by the similarity
"Well thanks?" said Shinichi slightly embarrassed
Ran seems can't stop looking at Shinichi's picture and blush to which make Sonoko giggle at her.
"Sensei, can we have more copies of his picture? I'm sure his fans would be please see his 10 years old self" said Sonoko mocking
"Oi oi Sonoko" said Shinichi unhappy
"Hahaha I'm sorry but it only work one picture one person" said Hara laughing
After that Genta point out that leaves Conan and Haibara to which they don't want to but Kogoro force him while Genta and Mitsuhiko force Haibara to try it. After that, Haibara picture looks quite identical to her own only that her face seems have more mature look. Conan on the other hand just laugh it out since it's a picture of Kudou Shinichi with glasses
"Wow… the identical is uncanny" said Sonoko while look at Conan's picture
"Conan-kun really look like Shinichi" said Ran surprised
"This is why I don't really want to do it because I already knew how I will look in 10 years…" thought Conan unhappy
"If you didn't wear glasses that I'm sure everyone will say that you're Kudou Shinichi" said Haibara
"Ahahaha…" laugh Conan sarcastically
"But then when you're 27, you will be replica of my dad" said Shinichi
"Oh yeah since I wear glasses but no, I will not be like that mystery novelist"
"You are his son.." thought Shinichi
After that all of them meet the owner of the twin towers and Kogoro's old college friend Mio Tokiwa. Beside her, there was also Hosui Kisaragi, a painter who specializes in the traditional Japanese ways of painting, Iwamatsu Oki, a council member in Nishitamashi who supported the building of the towers and Hidehiko Kazama, the architect who designed the buildings. Moments later, the three kids find Hara eating a chocolate and so Hara gives them chocolates and invites them to his house to test a new game he created. They immediately agree to which make Conan and Haibara sigh since they have to babysit them
Mitsuhiko look at Conan for a while and then talk to Ran something which Ran just smile to him and then he go near Genta and Haibara. Haibara notice that Mitsuhiko seems to be looking at Conan
"What's wrong Tsuburaya-kun?" asked Haibara
"Eh ah nothing... I just feel something's off with Conan-kun, maybe just my imagination"
Haibara look at Conan before she goes to the big window that show Mount Fuji. Ayumi look at Conan and then quickly goes to Ran which seems she want to tell her something but she hold it and wait for a good time
Time Skip~
It was Sunday
Ran has an appointment with Ayumi who ask her to meet up. Much to Ran's surprise that Ayumi boldly told her that she likes Conan
"I like Conan-kun… but he likes someone else" said Ayumi while looking down
"Do you mean that he likes Ai-chan?" asked Ran who seems interested
"No, he likes you Ran-oneesan!"
"Eh? hahaha don't be silly"
"Conan-kun likes you and I know it! So I like you to tell him that he can't like you who's more older than him so he give up"
"Eh… But we don't know for sure that Conan-kun likes me"
"I do!"
"How?"
"Woman's intuition!"
Ran can't help to surprised to hear those words from a grade schooler. After that, Ran goes to the shopping district to buy groceries for dinner. While she looking around, she was surprised to see someone looking at the fishes and she hurriedly tap him
"Shinichi!" said Ran
"Oh Ran!"
"Buying groceries?"
"Yeah, Conan ask me to buy some things for dinner. He's now at home preparing" said Shinichi as he shows bag of vegetables
"I see.."
After shopping, both of them goes home together and suddenly Ran's look change into confusion which grab Shinichi's attention
"What's wrong?" asked Shinichi
"Nee Shinichi… Do you think, Conan-kun likes me?" asked Ran serious
"Hah?"
"I think Conan-kun have feelings for me and I don't know what to do…"
Seconds passed and then Shinichi let out a big laughter which grab everyone's attention. Ran become embarrassed as she sees her friend become crazy
"Stop it Shinichi! Everyone's watching" said Ran embarrassed
"Sorry sorry, man I haven't heard this kind of joke in a long time"
"I'm serious Shinichi!"
Shinichi trying to calm down his laughter while Ran just faces away angrily. After Shinichi just smile as if finding the situation very funny
"Let me guess, Ayumi-chan tell you about this and ask Conan to rethink of liking person that's too old for him" said Shinichi
"How did you?" asked Ran surprised
"It's quite noticeable that Ayumi-chan like Conan for a long time now and the two boys like Ayumi-chan… The question is who did Conan like and I can tell that is not you Ran"
"How can you be so sure about it?"
"Who are you talking with Ran? If you don't believe me, why not try to more open up to him"
"Open up to him?"
"I'm sure you will get what I meant"
Ran was confused by Shinichi's words but Shinichi run hurriedly since he doesn't want to make Conan angry for making preparation by himself
Time Skip~
On Monday evening
The Kudou brothers was called by the police because a murder case happen at tower B and Inspector Megure ask for Shinichi's help. Conan happen to be with him since they were about to go to the bookstore when Inspector Megure called him
"The victim is Oki Iwamatsu, he died in suite room on twin tower B last night" said Inspector Megure as he give the picture of the victim and when he was found
"We believe that a knife was used but it's not found on the scene. There was also a sake cup near the victim's body that already split into two" said Chiba
"And we are called because we happen to meet him right before the day right?" asked Conan to the police
"Yes… I was going to ask the others but when the staff said that you were there so I thought I could get more information from you only Kudou-kun" said Inspector Megure serious
"I see… you're not thinking to ask Mouri-tantei? I mean we are invited because the owner, Mio Tokiwa happen to be his old college friend" said Shinichi
"I will call him tomorrow with Ran-kun for statement"
"So you call us because you are curious on each suspects?" asked Conan
"Yes, we police suspect that the killer have to be between five who you guys meet that time"
"Because the building is not open for public…" said Inspector Shiratori
"I see" said Shinichi serious
Conan look at the victim's body very serious until Inspector Shiratori take it from him said that it's not good for child's eyes. Conan just laugh while Shinichi just look serious to the five suspects. After that both of them dismissed and they are now on their way home with their bike
"Conan… can you get information about some of them tomorrow?" asked Shinichi
"Well the next two days happen to be day off for me because of sixth grader exams. I think I can get some"
"Perfect… contact me every time okay and please be careful… bring Professor with you okay"
"I will…"
After that day, Conan visit both Kazama and Kisaragi with the help of his friends and Professor Agasa except Haibara who have something to do that day which Conan feels that Haibara seems to hiding something. The next day, they was about to visit Hara since they want to test his new game. But what a surprised when they found Hara already dead inside his apartment, Conan quickly inspect the scene and take a picture as he wait for the police to come, he found the broken sake cup near the body to which they quickly conclude that it's the same culprit
After the police inspect all the scene and get their statements, all of them are taken home except Conan who just got message to go to Mouri Detective Agency by his big brother to hear Inspector Megure explanation about the case
At Mouri Detective Agency
Kogoro and Ran sit down while Shinichi stand behind the two and Conan stand near the table. All of them are exchanging information about the murder that have happen so far
"So Inspector suggesting to postponed the opening this Saturday but she didn't listen" said Inspector Shiratori
"Not only that, she ask me to give this to you" Inspector Megure giving the envelope
Kogoro open the envelope which to be an invitation to the twin tower opening night. The surprise thing is that not only she invite Kogoro but also Ran, Shinichi, Professor Agasa and Detective boys are invited. Shinichi and Conan become serious after looking at the invitation
Few hours later
At Professor Agasa's house
Haibara comes out from the lab and see that Professor Agasa is sleeping, she walk to the kitchen and much to his surprise to see a certain someone sitting on the handle at the second floor while drinking coffee which the boy in glasses, Conan.
"What are you doing here? It's 12 AM" asked Haibara who comes up to the second floor with a cup of coffee
"I'm copying some data of the suspects on Professor Agasa's computer. It takes a long time so I told him to go to sleep first if he's tired" said Conan as he drink his coffee
"I see.."
Haibara goes beside him and lend to the handle as they look at the starry sky together. Conan look at Haibara serious until he put the cup beside him
"Haibara, is there something bothering you?" asked Conan
"What do you mean?"
"You have been acting weird ever since we went to the twin tower… I've been meaning to ask you but you seem down so I wait for a good time"
She look surprised until she look down and close her eyes
"What's your deduction great detective?"
"You feel down when I was talking with Shinichi-niichan in the tower. I think it trigger your memory with your late sister… am I right?"
Haibara just look at the boy surprised and then give a big sigh as if giving up to lie and then nod to him as a yes
"Long time ago, my sister and I hang out together at a restaurant on top of a hotel. We talk right when we go inside the hotel and took the lift to the top floor. Being inside that tower reminded me of her and my last time having fun with her…" said Haibara while look down
"Haibara…"
"Lately… I keep remembering the day where my family died, I remember of being alone… I can't help to think that I have no place in this world…"
"What are you saying, you are not alone" said Conan serious
"Eh?"
"Professor Agasa, Detective Boys, my brother, Ran-neechan and I always there by your side so don't feel like that"
Conan smile to her to which make Haibara slightly blush on him but it seems unnoticeable so she quickly smile to him as a thank you for the kind words
"Since we're in this topic, there's something I always curious" asked Haibara
"What is it?"
"You are not angry when our friends or anyone start to compare you with Shinichi-san?"
That question make Conan off-guard as he about to drink his coffee. That reaction answer half of Haibara's question
"That seems answer my question" said Haibara firmly
"When did you found out?"
"Ever since your picture of 10 years in the future... Everyone talk how similar you are with him and start comparing"
Conan just smile as Haibara told him. He was sure that he fool everyone even his brother didn't notice it
"I'm also a little sibling for 6 years, that's quite enough for me to understand you. I'm sure Tsuburaya-kun also notice it but he didn't press since he also a little sibling"
"Well... I'm a human after all, of course there's time I will get angry or jealous of those kind of things"
"Like?"
"The fact that my brother have better life than I am... I mean, he grew up here surround by lots of friends. He has amazing skill on being a detective, he's a better actor than I am... and a better son for my parents" said Conan while look down
"Kudou-kun..."
"But that's normal right... being siblings... there's always moment to be jealous for"
Haibara just nod to him to which make Conan give a smile to him since he can let out some of his thoughts to the person he trust the most
"It seems we have something on our mind on the exact same day huh" said Conan smirking
"Yeah you could say that" said Haibara with a smirk
Time Skip~
All of them are now in front of the Mouri Detective Agency to go to the twin tower opening party. They are now waiting for Sonoko to which make Kogoro irritated. Shinichi and Conan wait outside with Professor Agasa and Haibara.
"So he manage to get a formal clothes?" asked Haibara pointing Shinichi with her eyes
"Ahh… after hearing that we are going to the opening party, I quickly take his formal clothes to the laundry" said Conan with bored look
"Hey, are you still going to bring up that game presentation event?!" asked Shinichi unhappy
"Well you did use your uniform Shinichi… That already an embarrassment" laugh Professor Agasa
"Not you too Professor…"
Conan and Professor Agasa laugh at him until suddenly Sonoko shows up with a new hairstyle and much to their surprise that her hairstyle almost identical to Haibara's hairstyle. Her image unconsciously make Conan look awe to which make Shinichi giggle, the others notice it and start to make fun of him for looking awe to Sonoko's new hair
After that all of them goes to the twin tower, at the party all of them are at different places. Shinichi and Conan are together looking at Tower B to which they are having a discussion about the case
"So have you thought anything?" asked Conan
"Well the fact that the suspects are on the same room makes me anxious, not to mention Tokiwa-san didn't let the police inside the party" said Shinichi serious
"We can only hope nothing is going to happen"
"Yeah you're right"
Shinichi quickly bend down to Conan's size and then Shinichi quickly pat his head
"What's wrong?" asked Conan surprised
"You have been very polite now, you usually want to compete with me or getting more information on cases" said Shinichi with a smirk
"Well I hold myself"
"Why?"
"Aegis Destroyer?"
Conan reminded Shinichi on that case where he have been eager to solve before his big brother did to which only make him in almost near death situation and giving his big brother a heart attack
"After that case, I have been restraining myself to look and get information alone. I don't want to see your worried look like that. You are the one who's taking care of me here in Japan so I will try not to make you too worried about me" said Conan while looking away
"Conan…"
"But in exchange, don't ever make me worried like what you did to me most of the times. Also, can I borrow your phone?"
"Why?"
"I want to look for something, my phone is broken yesterday so I had it on repair"
Shinichi just smile while giving his phone as he smirking and pat his little brother's head. Suddenly they heard a mic sound so they quickly go beside Haibara who's near the stage
"Thank you all for attending this grand opening party of the twin tower building. I would like to start things off with a little game. A game that takes after the name of my late father Tokiwa Kanenari and the 30 years of the Tokiwa group, a 30 seconds guessing game!" said Mio on stage
"Oi oi… seriously?" thought Shinichi and Conan
"Whoever counts 30 seconds exactly or gets the closest will receive the Mustang convertible on display here!"
The guests eyes start to light by the look of the amazing car especially the male guests and kids.
"However, if there are two winners, we will do rock-paper-scissors to choose the winner. The lose will still get the mountain bike and helmet. I ask those of you who play the game to let us hold on to your watches, they'll be returned shortly with gems that suit them perfectly"
Some of the guests laugh by the mountain bike while some of the kids seems interested more to the bike rather than the car
"Gems?!" said Ran surprised
"The Tokiwa group doesn't mess around" said Sonoko
Most of the guests quickly give their watches to the staff. Shinichi and Conan look at each other
"So are you going to play?" asked Shinichi
"Pass. you should play, maybe you can get that car so you don't have to use mom's bike anymore" said Conan
"Oi oi… fine I'll play for little fun"
Shinichi put his watch to the basket while Conan walks away so that he can get total concentration. Haibara quickly goes beside him
"Not playing?" asked Conan
"Not interested… I let Professor do it" said Haibara
The game starts and the guest quickly count in their heads. Conan look around and saw his friends, Ran, Sonoko, Kogoro, Professor Agasa and his big brother playing the game which he can't help to giggle
"What's so funny?" asked Haibara in low voice
"No, it's just quite funny to see everyone playing this game for that car" said Conan
"Well your brother is playing, should you pray that he got it"
"Not really, as smart as he could be, no way he will get exactly 30 seconds"
"Well beside being a detective and soccer player, I'm sure he can't do this simple things" thought Conan laughing as he want his thoughts to be heard by the person
As the secretary stop the counter, there were two flags that was raise at the same time. Mio quickly point at them to come forward. As the two come forward, much to the guests surprise that it's Kogoro and Shinichi
"Dad!" shout Ran happily
"No way, Shinichi-kun!?" shout Sonoko surprised
"You got to be kidding me" shout Conan in shock
Shinichi goes up to the stage and then he spot his little brother and just smirk to him
"Thanks for helping me win" thought Shinichi to Conan
"What?!" thought Conan surprised
"When you say those things about me, I unconsciously raise my flag"
Conan slap his forehead as he found out the truth on how his big brother got into up there. Ayumi, Genta and Mitsuhiko goes to Conan and Haibara and so is Ran and Sonoko
"Are you hoping to win Conan-kun?" asked Ayumi
"Not really, my brother haven't got his car license yet" said Conan
Mio quickly conduct the rock-paper-scissors, both Shinichi and Kogoro shows rock, after that they show paper and after that they show scissors, and after that they show paper again which make them four time tie
"Oi oi…" thought Conan laughing
"Now I'm hoping it ends soon" said Haibara
"You could say that again" said Sonoko
Shinichi and Kogoro look at each other seriously
"Do you really want that car?" asked Kogoro
"Not really since I don't have car license yet, but I do hope winning against you Mouri-tantei" said Shinichi smirking
"Oh it's on!"
Conan and Ran just slap their forehead in dizziness of their actions on stage
"Oh those future in-law duo..." thought Conan
