One Saturday evening, Detective boys are in Conan's house playing together. Professor Agasa have to repair his inventions which he didn't let them play in his house, so they bring the game console to Conan's house instead. They plan to have a sleepover since they have many games to play
"Seriously, you all want to play those games all day?" asked Haibara as she drinks her tea
"Of course! This game is very tricky after all" said Mitsuhiko laugh
"We already tell our parents about staying here, so it shouldn't be a problem" said Ayumi laugh
"Just don't create a mess here. I don't want to clean it all up when you guys go home" said Conan as he walks to them
"Ah, are you done with dinner? I heard that you are not cooking for a while due to your injured shoulder" asked Haibara
"My shoulder is already fine but Ran-neechan always force me and Shinichi-niichan to eat dinner together with her. Luckily, I already prepare it this morning after all. Now, I just wait for it done to cook"
"Oh yeah, Tantei-niichan on case today?" asked Genta
"No, he's having a soccer match with Haido High School, so he should be home late"
Conan then look at the time which he goes back to the kitchen to look into the dinner
"Oh yeah, last time we had sleepover in here was around that time right" said Genta remembered
"Ah yes! I remember, it's already a long time… One year ago I think" said Mitsuhiko
"Hmm? Did something happen that time?" asked Haibara
"Well, it's our first meeting with Conan-kun!" said Ayumi happily
"First meeting?"
"Ahh it all started like this…"
Flashback
It was Friday after school
Ayumi, Mitsuhiko and Genta are on their way home and were talking about Kamen Yaiba. Suddenly, they passed an electronic store which the TV shows a haunted house commercial which made Ayumi stop
"What's wrong Ayumi?" asked Genta
"I just remember, few days ago I found a haunted house when my dad takes a shortcut from Beika's bookstore. If I remember correctly, the nameplate says it was Eto" said Ayumi remembered
"Eh really? I never heard a haunted house in Beika" said Mitsuhiko
"We should check it out!" said Genta happily
"Ehh are you sure? Shouldn't it be scary?" asked Ayumi worried
"Don't worry, as long as we are together, I'm sure we can beat the ghosts!"
"Well, if you say so, how about tomorrow night?" asked Mitsuhiko
"Agreed!" said both Genta and Ayumi together
Time Skip~
Three of them are now in front of the supposed to be haunted house, they notice that the gate can be open, so they silently open it and look at the dark house
"Wow… It's scarier this close…" said Ayumi scared
"But how can we go inside?" asked Genta
"Hmmm… Let's try opening the windows, maybe there's one that's unlock" said Mitsuhiko as he tried opening a window near him
Three of them quickly try all windows which then Ayumi found an unlocked window which near the kitchen. Three of them then quickly goes in and look around with their flashlight. As they walk further, suddenly they heard a sound of opening door. They quickly turn off their flashlights and see a shadow approaching
Mitsuhiko signal them to go behind the shadow, to which they quickly run behind the shadow. Genta then slowly trying to approach the shadow to captured it but much to their surprised that the shadow suddenly reacted
"TAKE THIS!" shout shadow as he turned around
"KYAAA!" shout three of them
Few hours ago
Conan just finish unpack all of his clothes from his suitcase. He looked at his new bedroom that he just half finish decorate with his own stuff from his own former room in LA. He then took a break as he lay down on his bed
"From this day toward… I will be living here huh…" thought Conan as he close his eyes with his arm
Suddenly he can hear a knock from his room, which to be his parents
"Conan-chan! Have you finished unpacking?" asked Yukiko with a smile
"Yeah I'm done" said Conan as he looked at his desk full of his stationery and some encyclopedia
"I see, so Yukiko and I want to meet our friends tonight. Shinichi told me that he will be home around midnight due to a case, so is it okay to leave you alone?" asked Yusaku
"You two always leave me alone in LA, so I don't really mind. I also happen to have some new gadgets from Professor Agasa in case of something happens. You two did tell me that Beika is full of cases, especially robbery"
"Then that's settled! Thank you Conan-chan" said Yukiko happily
The parents bid farewell to Conan as he stayed on his bed. He looked through the window and see that his parents are going out with a taxi, which make Conan sigh as he lay down again. He looked to his desk and found a Sherlock Holmes book, The Valley of Fear near, and he stood up and look
"That's right! I should be finishing this book, so I can read other books from the library. I could finish decorating tomorrow" said Conan smiled
Conan then jump to his bed, wear his usual headphone to play some classical music and began continue reading the book
Few hours passed, Conan let go of his headphone as he finished reading the book and let out a breath of happiness as he hug it
"Ahh now I understand why he loves mystery books, it is super thrilling!" said Conan happily
Suddenly, he heard a loud noise coming from outside. He began to look serious as he put on his glasses, watch and belt. He goes out from his room, which to be a dark hallway accompanying him. Conan look at the time which to be 11 PM which he deduced that it's not Shinichi since his parents said that he will be arriving around midnight. The boy quickly goes downstairs to look around, suddenly he felt something just passed by him which make him confused.
Suddenly his body sense some people behind him, and so he without thinking activate his belt which let out a soccer belt and kick the ball behind him
"TAKE THIS!" shout Conan as he kicked the ball
"KYAAA!" shout the people behind
Conan quickly turn out the light which to his surprise to find three kids dodge to the ground with their hands protecting their head. He looked closely which to be a round big boy, a tall thin boy and a girl around his height. They are Genta, Mitsuhiko and Ayumi
"Who are you guys!?" shout Conan angrily
"Sorry! But please don't eat us or anything dear ghost!" shout Genta in scared look
"Hah? What are you saying? I'm a human"
The three kids look up, which see Conan's face with a serious look. The three then sigh as they sit on the ground
"What are you doing here alone?" asked Mitsuhiko
"That should be my question, what are you three doing in my house?" asked Conan started to get annoyed
"Your house!?" shout three of them
"Oi oi…" thought Conan sigh
"Oi Ayumi! You said that this is a haunted house!" shout Genta angrily
"I was sure it was! When Ayumi goes through this street few days ago, it was dark and no one seems to live here" said Ayumi
"But he said that this is his house" said Mitsuhiko confused
"Ahh my family and I just arrive from LA yesterday. We were in LA for around a week, so the house was empty that time" said Conan as he folded his hands
"But but… I thought the rumor said that this house was lived by one person?" asked Mitsuhiko
"Yeah, my big brother is the one who stayed in this house alone. I just moved here yesterday, and so we are living together as two now"
"Are you really not a ghost?" asked Ayumi
"Of course not, if I am a ghost then why I turn on the light?"
The three then sigh in relief as they stand up. Conan told them to sit on the sofa as he took some tea and snacks for them. After that, he quickly sits down facing all of them
"We are really sorry for bursting inside the house, let me introduce ourselves. My name is Tsuburaya Mitsuhiko. Her name is Yoshida Ayumi and his name is Kojima Genta" said Mitsuhiko introducing himself
"Nice to meet you!" said both Genta and Ayumi
"My name is Kudou Conan, nice to meet you too"
"Eehh a foreigner name, then you were live in LA before moved here?" asked Mitsuhiko
"Does one of your parents is a foreigner?" asked Genta
"No, both of them are Japanese. They name me because I was born in LA" said Conan as he shakes his hand and half lie to them
"Ooohhh" said three of them
Conan then sip his tea as he sees the three kids in front of him. He tried his best not to get attach with them, but the three seems at ease.
"Can we ask you something, Conan-kun?" asked Ayumi
"Sure, what is it?" said Conan as he put his cup on the table
"Your last name is Kudou so are you related to Kudou Shinichi-san?"
"Yeah, he's my big brother"
"I knew it! When you said your name is Kudou, I have a thought that you're maybe his little brother" said Mitsuhiko happily
"Kudou Shinichi? Who is it?" asked Genta
"Did you forgot Genta-kun! He's the famous high school detective who always solve many crimes and can even make police officers bend down due to his skills!"
"Niichan sure is famous" thought Conan as he sips his tea
"Then Conan-kun also a detective?" asked Ayumi smiling
"Hahaha don't get your hopes up, I can barely do any deductions" said Conan laugh
The glasses boy look at the clock, which to be almost midnight
"Oi you three should get home, it's almost midnight" said Conan unhappy
"Well the truth is…" said Mitsuhiko as he looked down
"Eh?
Few moments later
Shinichi just arrive to his house and notice that the light was on. He assumed that his parents are still awake but as he goes in, much to his surprised to hear his little brother loud voice coming toward the living room
"YOU GUYS LIED TO YOUR PARENTS FOR HAVING SLEEPOVER TO EACH OTHER?!" shout Conan
"Yes…" said three of them
"What are you three thinking! What happen if this house is really haunted?!"
The three just look down don't know what to do and moments later Shinichi comes in
"I'm home, what is going on?" asked Shinichi
"Ah… Actually-"
"No way… the real Kudou Shinichi" said Mitsuhiko cutting Conan's words
"Wow!" shout both Ayumi and Genta
"Care to explain?" asked Shinichi seems confused by the situation
Conan sighed as he told Shinichi about the situation about the three kids thought that their house is haunted and deserted house. Shinichi only giggle by the situation as he sat beside Conan and look at the three kids
"What you three did was indeed wrong. You three just broke in to a house, and we can also report you as trespassing" said Shinichi serious
"We're sorry" said three of them as they look down
"But you didn't steal and broke anything, so I will spare you three. Not to mention, Conan already give you a soccer ball warning"
"I'm not going to ask how did you know" said Conan as he looked away
"Anyway, it's already past midnight. How about three of you sleep in Conan's room?"
"Eh? What about the guest room?"
"Did you forgot that the heater is not working?"
"Oh yeah… Alright then"
"Thank you very much" said Mitsuhiko bow to them
Time Skip~
Three of them comes in to Conan's room with futons for them to sleep. Three of them look surprise at some boxes beside Conan's bed
"You haven't finish unpacking?" asked Ayumi
"Yeah… My stuff from LA just arrived this afternoon after all. I could always finish it tomorrow. I'm sure three of you fit in here right?" said Conan pointing the floor near the desk
"Yeah, thank you Conan-kun" said Mitsuhiko as he put the futon
"Alright then, let's hurry and change, so we can go to sleep. It's past midnight after all"
"Okay!" said three of them
Few moments later
Conan goes out from his room and call his parents about the situation in case they don't get surprised if they found three kids sleeping inside his room
"I see I see then give them the best hospitality. Oh Conan-chan, it turns out both Yusaku and I will be sleeping in the hotel, Conan-chan" said Yukiko on the phone
"You got to be kidding me, did dad drink a lot?" asked Conan not surprised by the situation
"Yes! Yusaku is awful in handling drinks, we should be back around 10 AM so help with cooking breakfast Conan-chan"
"Yes yes… I will make some soup for dad. Just be careful on the way home"
"Oh Conan-chan! I already registered you to your new school. You should be able to go next week!"
"Alright alright, thank you mom"
Conan turned off his phone and look at it serious. He clenched his fist for a while until he heard someone call him which to be his big brother coming out from the library
"Oi Conan, what's wrong?" asked Shinichi with books on his hands
"Ahh mom and dad are staying in the hotel for the night. Dad drink too much" said Conan sigh
"Hahaha… Dad always like that huh"
"You have no idea"
Both of them didn't notice that they were being watched by the three who secretly hiding behind the door. Ayumi notice Mitsuhiko who seems to look serious
"What's wrong Mitsuhiko-kun?" asked Ayumi
"Ah no… It's just, seeing two of them seems to be off I guess…" said Mitsuhiko
"Eh? What do you mean?" asked Genta
"Just my feeling I guess…"
Time Skip~
Ayumi gets up and see that it was already morning. She looked around and see that Conan is not on his bed. She gently woke Mitsuhiko and Genta up
"Nee wake up you two" said Ayumi worried
"Hmmmm ahh good morning Ayumi-chan" said Mitsuhiko as he gets up
"Good morning…" said Genta half asleep
"Conan-kun already gone. Maybe he's already in dining room. Let's go out" said Ayumi
"Okay" said both Genta and Mitsuhiko
Three of them quickly goes to the dining room and see Conan putting some food on the table
"Ah you three awake… Have some breakfast first" said Conan as he pointed the table
They sit on the table and see a very good Japanese style breakfast. All of them happily eat them which make Conan smile to them
"You three eat first. I want to wake my brother up" said Conan smiling
"Yes!" shout three of them
As Conan left, Ayumi look around and see a stepping chair in front of the counter
"Nee, did Conan-kun cook all this by himself?" asked Ayumi
"Now that you mention it, he did say wake his brother up, so he should be alone" said Mitsuhiko looking around
"Should I live with him, so he can cook for me all day" said Genta happily
"Genta-kun…" said Mitsuhiko
"But my mom sometimes got tired preparing breakfast at home… Conan-kun sure is amazing" said Ayumi
"He always does this in LA too" said someone
Three of them look at the source of the voice, which to be Yukiko smiling to them
"Nice to meet you three, my name is Kudou Yukiko. Shinichi and Conan-chan's mother" said Yukiko happily
"Ah nice to meet you!" said three of them smiling
"Conan-chan always make breakfast for me and his father. He can also do house chores like cleaning, taking care of the garden and more"
"Wow… Did you teach him to do it?" asked Ayumi
"No, he learned it by looking at me doing it. Well except cooking, he asked me to teach him some recipes, Conan-chan is excellent at making meat"
"Meat" said Genta happily
Moments later, both Shinichi and Conan arrive to the dining room
"Mom? You arrive early?" asked Shinichi surprised
"Yes, since Yusaku got called by his editor this morning, so he goes to the library to finish his draft" said Yukiko smiling
"Hahaha… Then sit down, I will prepare your portion" said Conan as he put on his apron
Both Shinichi and Yukiko sit on the counter, while the three stay at the dining table. Three of them see how Conan straightly goes to the stove, making eggs and bacon. Moments later, he gave the breakfast to both of them and take one tray with him
"I will give this to dad" said Conan
"Alright, thank you Conan-chan" said Yukiko smiling
"Thank you" said Shinichi as he ate toast bread
Conan walked out to the library while Ayumi still observing the entire room
"Western breakfast?" asked Ayumi
"Ahh all of us got used to western breakfast, so we rarely made Japanese breakfast except there's a leftover dinner. It seems Conan-chan did a lot of jobs this morning" said Yukiko
"Eh?" asked three of them
"You three are our first guests, Conan thought that maybe three of you are not used to western breakfast, so he made Japanese breakfast for you three. By the looks of how many dishes, he woke up very early to make it" said Shinichi as he eats
"Well Conan-chan is used to wake up early so you three don't have to feel bad about it" said Yukiko
"I see… Then is there anything else we can know about Conan-kun?" asked Ayumi
"You sure are curious Ayumi-chan about him" said Mitsuhiko
"Hehe"
"Well you can learn about him by yourselves rather than from us. It's much easier to deduce it yourself, after all. To tell you the truth, even his big brother doesn't know him well" said Yukiko smiling pointing at Shinichi
"Ehh?!" shout three of them
"Well we did live far away from each other so that make sense" said Shinichi as he stood up taking his plate
"That's why last night, their relationship is more like acquaintances" thought Mitsuhiko
Time Skip~
After breakfast, three of them quickly pack their bags ready to go home. Conan accompany them to the front of the house
"Thank you for the night and breakfast Conan-kun!" said Mitsuhiko smiling
"It's no big deal" said Conan with a small smile
"Your cooking sure is tasty!" said Genta
"Hahaha"
"Can we play with you again sometime, Conan-kun?" asked Ayumi
Conan look surprised and then smile to them
"Of course, I can introduce you guys to my neighbor next door. He's a professor and have created many things for our age" said Conan as he's pointing Professor Agasa's house
"Eh really! Yes!" shout three of them
Three of them wave at Conan as they run to their homes. Conan then smile as he goes back inside his house
"They sure are lively… I wish I can live like that" thought Conan showing a sad smile before going inside the house
The next day
At Teitan Elementary School
It was Monday morning, the three kids are talking together as they wait for the bell rings
"Nee nee, Conan-kun sure is a nice person" said Ayumi smiling to her friends
"Really? He is alright" said Genta
"You know, I search about Conan-kun yesterday on the internet and look what I found" said Mitsuhiko as he showed his phone to his friends
Both of them look in a picture of Conan being interviewed by a reporter. They look at the news title which to be shows the infamous Kaito Kid new rival, and he managed to protect Black Star few weeks ago
"That's Conan-kun right? Wow!" said Ayumi impressed
"But this is a weird one, the news told that his name is Edogawa Conan, and it seems that he's relative of Kudou Shinichi" said Mitsuhiko
"Eh? I thought he was his little brother" said Genta confused
"Not to mention, the different last name" said Ayumi
"That's also got my attention, but this face is really him. I wonder why he didn't use his real name" said Mitsuhiko thinking
"Yeah… We should visit him again!"
"I agree! Those grilled fish sure is delicious" said Genta happily remembering the breakfast
"Please stop thinking about food, Genta-kun" said Mitsuhiko laughing
"Also he didn't mention what school he will go to? Since he just moved here right" said Ayumi
"You're right, we should ask him"
Few moments later, they overheard some kids talking right beside them
"Have you heard that we got a new transfer student today?" asked the girl to her friend
"Really? It's only been two weeks of the new term… That's surprising" said the other girl
Suddenly, their class teacher comes in and told them to sit down because homeroom is about to start. All of them quickly sit down. After the kids sit down, their teacher give a smile as she put the attendance book on the teacher desk
"Alright everyone, before we began the attendance. I would like to introduce to our new friend" said the teacher smiling
"Yes!" said all the students
"Nee, how about we visit Conan-kun today after school?" asked Ayumi in low voice to both Mitsuhiko and Genta
"I'm okay but will he be at home?" asked Mitsuhiko in low voice
"Well…"
"Hello everyone, I just moved from LA last week" said someone
"Wait a minute… I know this voice" said Genta surprised
Three of them look to the front which much to their surprised to find the boy with glasses of their topic of conversation from the morning
"My name is Kudou Conan, nice to meet you all" said Conan with a small smile
"No way…" said three of them in low voice
"CONAN/-KUN!" shout three of them as they stand up
Their sudden shouting grab everyone's attention and of course the glasses boy that was introducing himself in front of the classroom
"You three?!" shout Conan shock by the situation
Time Skip~
"We are classmates now, Conan-kun!" said Ayumi happily
"Even I'm surprised myself seeing you three again" said Conan surprised
It was the first break and three of them are now goes to Conan immediately and they began to talk with each other
"Did your parents already plan for you to transferred here?" asked Mitsuhiko
"Yeah since this school also happen to be Shinichi-niichan's elementary school, so I'm not surprised that my parents put me here" said Conan
"Why you didn't tell us when we meet you" said Genta
"You guys didn't ask"
"Then from now on, four of us can be best friends!" said Ayumi happily
Conan flinch suddenly and then look down. Three kids look surprised by Conan change of behavior, which worried them
"Sorry but… I don't think we need to go closer as of now. Just classmates should be better" said Conan with a small smile
"Eh?" thought Ayumi and Mitsuhiko surprised
"What do you mean?! Do you just reject Ayumi's kindness" said Genta angrily
"I appreciate the kindness, but I can't accept it" said Conan as he looked away
Just before Mitsuhiko ask more, the bell rings, telling them that it's the 3rd period. Three of them has no choice but to go back to their seats.
As the class start, Ayumi secretly look at Conan who seems to be not paying attention to the teacher. Mitsuhiko notice her
"What's wrong Ayumi-chan?" asked Mitsuhiko in low voice
"No... It's just I'm worried about Conan-kun" said Ayumi in low voice
"Just leave him be" said Genta unhappy
"But…"
"How about this?" said Mitsuhiko smiling to two of them
Few moments later
It was lunchtime and all students started to move their tables and chairs to eat lunch. As Conan about to move it far, suddenly Mitsuhiko stop him using his table
"Let's eat lunch together Conan-kun" said Mitsuhiko happily
"Ehh… I already told you that-"
"We need to eat lunch together after all, we are classmates after all" said Genta interrupting Conan's words
"Genta-kun's right, just eat lunch together is fine right" said Ayumi happily
"Hahh… Do as you please then" said Conan as he gave in
Four of them eat together on the same row. Genta quickly eat as fast as he can, while Mitsuhiko and Ayumi talk together. Conan look at three of them and can't help to feel comfortable, but then he remembered his time in LA to which he tried to wash his feelings away
"Ah Conan-kun, what is your favorite food?" asked Ayumi happily
"I'm fine with anything" said Conan as he eats
"Then, dislike food?" asked Genta as he finished eating
"I actually not a big fan of raisins"
"Eh really?! They are delicious!"
"Then what's your hobby?" asked Mitsuhiko
"Reading"
Three of them just question Conan happily which Conan just try to answer their questions as short as possible
Few days have passed and Conan still act distant to three of them, but they're still trying to approach him. They already learn few things from Conan from his eating habits, hobby and more. One time in sport class, their class is playing soccer and Conan was practically the best player. He is also very smart, he practically got a full mark on math exam which surprising since the exam was one day after he transferred, so he shouldn't have known the material, yet he ace it. Also, the fact that he uses Edogawa Conan as his alias for fighting Kaito Kid, the teachers sometimes slip using Edogawa instead of Kudou since they happen to know about the news to which Conan quickly tell them that it's alright to use his alias name instead of his real name
One day, Conan didn't go to school
"I wonder what's wrong with Conan-kun" said Ayumi worried
"Yeah, today we also have history exam right" said Mitsuhiko
"Maybe he's sick?" asked Genta
"Maybe… We should visit him later"
Time Skip~
Three of them are now in front of Kudou's house. Before they ring the bell, someone called them out
"Are you three Conan-kun's classmates?" asked the person
"Yes, who are you?" asked Mitsuhiko
"My name is Professor Agasa, if you want to meet Conan-kun then he's not home right now" said Professor Agasa
"Ahh Conan-kun told us about you!" said Genta
"Where is he then?" asked Ayumi
"His big brother, Shinichi-kun is hospitalized, Conan-kun is looking after him since today his parents are going back to LA. I think Conan-kun will not go to school for a while" said Professor Agasa
"No way…" said Ayumi
"Poor Conan-kun…" said Mitsuhiko
"Then, do you three want to visit him? I happen want to go there"
"Is it okay?" asked Genta
"Yes, don't forget to call your parents that you three will be late"
"Thank you so much Professor" said Ayumi
Few moments later
All of them arrive to the hospital and goes straight to Shinichi's room. Much to their surprised to see both brothers are asleep. Conan sleeping on the bed for guardian and Shinichi on his own hospital bed. Inside was Yukiko sitting on the chair looking after Shinichi
"Ah you three" said Yukiko surprised
"Good work there Yukiko, how's Shinichi-kun?" asked Professor as he goes in along with the other three
"The doctor told him to rest for a whole month after surgery, but he should be fine with a full amount of rest. Not to mention, Conan-chan will look after him"
"I see, when is your flight?"
"It should be around midnight. Yusaku is getting ready at home"
"Conan-kun's mom… There are something we want to ask you…" asked Mitsuhiko serious
"Alright, Professor can you look at them for a while?"
"Sure, take your time" said Professor as he sits on the chair
Three of them and Yukiko goes out from the room and goes to the waiting table outside of Shinichi's room
"So what is it?" asked Yukiko
"There are a lot of things we want to know… is Conan-kun will be staying here without going to school?" asked Mitsuhiko
"It seems so, we already contact the school about the situation, so they will give Conan some assignments for a while"
"I see… Professor Agasa told us that Shinichi-oniisan got shot due to protecting Conan-kun. Is it true?" asked Ayumi
"Yes, Conan-chan was very guilty of what happened, that's why he made up his mind to look after Shinichi until he gets out from the hospital"
"I was thinking that both of them are not close, but it seems they are close" said Genta
"Well you're not wrong, both of them are not close as siblings out there due to amount of time they are separated. But their father told me that last night, two of them have a long night catching up to each other lives which is a good thing"
"I'm glad" said Ayumi smiling to all of them
"Is there anything else you want to ask?"
Mitsuhiko look at Ayumi and Genta as they nod to each other
"Yes, why is Conan-kun is being so distant with us… Is he didn't like us" said Mitsuhiko look worried
Yukiko look surprised and just give a soft smile to all of them. She gently pat their heads
"It's the opposite, Conan-chan likes you all" said Yukiko smiling
"Eh?" asked all of them surprised
"Every day after school, Conan-chan always talk about you three for being so curious by asking a lot of questions about him. He also knows about you three, about you Ayumi-chan being an outgoing girl and friends with every kid in class"
"Eh?" said Ayumi
"About you, Genta-kun being an energetic boy and loves to eat everything"
"Eh?" said Genta
"And you Mitsuhiko-kun for being a smart boy and dependable on everything"
"Eh?" said Mitsuhiko
Three of them find it surprising and amusing, Conan never ask about them, yet he can know their personality just by looking
"He really loves you all" said Yukiko smiling
"But why… He told us to be just classmates when I ask him to be our best friend" said Ayumi
"That boy… have a bad experience in his previous school in LA"
"Bad experience?" asked Mitsuhiko
"He got outcast and bullied due to being the smartest kid in class… It seems he also was taken advantage by his classmates which act want to be his friend. That's why he made distance between him and you guys, he was afraid"
"That's horrible…" said Ayumi crying
"Conan… really been through a lot" said Genta shiver
"That's why he acts like that to us" said Mitsuhiko
"But we're not like them! We will not use Conan-kun as our advantage or even bullied him! We really want to friend with him" said Ayumi
"Ayumi's right, we're not going to outcast him. If anyone tries to bully him, they will go through me!" said Genta angrily
"Then tell him so that your feelings will come through"
Mitsuhiko gets up from his chair and quickly goes in the room. Inside, Shinichi and Conan seems already awake and Conan was drinking a glass of water
"You?!" said Conan surprised as he put the glass on the table
"Conan-kun… Come with me!"
Mitsuhiko pull Conan out of the room and dash away. Ayumi and Genta quickly run, following the two. Yukiko look at the situation, just smile
Time Skip~
On the hospital roof
Both Mitsuhiko and Conan panting after their run to the roof
"What is going on, why are you pulling me here" said Conan seems irritated
"Conan-kun!" shout Mitsuhiko who look down
Both Ayumi and Genta arrives to the roof and close the door. Four of them are alone on the roof
"Conan-kun, we will not be like them!" shout Mitsuhiko
"Hah? What are you talking about?" asked Conan seems confused
"Actually, your mom already told us what have you been through in LA" said Ayumi
"Eh…"
"Yes, that's why we're different from them! We really want to be your friend!" said Genta angrily
"We want to play and have fun together with you" said Ayumi serious
"You take distance from us because you're scared right… That we would leave you if you didn't do what people are expect from you" said Mitsuhiko
Conan just look at them speechless as they figured out his reason for making distance between him to them which made him silent as he heard their reasoning
"Conan-kun, we don't care about your intelligence, all we want is you to play freely of what our age should be. In school, you were always alone in class reading a book" said Ayumi
"It's also our fault rarely ask you to play with us in free time" said Genta
"That's why Conan-kun, we promise that we will not abandon you like your so-called friends in LA. That's why… please" said Mitsuhiko serious
Ayumi and Genta goes beside Mitsuhiko, and they pull out their hands together to Conan
"Will you be our friend?" asked three of them together
Conan eyes was shock by the sight in front of him. The sunset accompany their background which can make the most beautiful scenery he sees in his entire life. Conan then gently try to take their hands but seems intimidated, but he took all his courage to believe of what the three just told him
He quickly takes their hands as a sign of him accepting their friendship
"Conan/-kun!" said three of them smiling
"Thank you… Genta, Mitsuhiko, Ayumi-chan" said Conan
Three of them then shout happily because their feelings are received to Conan which they jump and hug Conan which make them fall to the ground. Three of them laugh by their clumsiness and Conan laugh with them as well
None of them knows that someone happen to see the whole situation behind the door, which to be Kudou Yukiko
"Finally, you got few great friends Conan-chan" thought Yukiko smile gladly by the sight
One month later
Conan return to school after a month looking after Shinichi. The last time he sees his friends was two days ago, when they visit Shinichi's last day in the hospital. As he steps to the school building, he can't help to feel scared of their change of behavior
"Don't worry… Believe in them" thought Conan as he took a breath
Conan then look serious as he goes in the class and much to his surprised that he was look by all of their classmates which he quickly got surrounded
"Ah Edogawa-kun return to school!" shout one of the girl
"Oh Edogawa! Long time no see" shout one boy
"Eh ah wait…" said Conan
"Alright guys! Give him space to go to his seat" shout someone behind which to be Genta as he holds Conan's shoulders
"Hahaha Genta-kun, you look like Conan-kun's bodyguard"
"Welcome back, Conan-kun" said Mitsuhiko beside him
"Ahh I'm back to school I guess" said Conan smile
After that, three of them talk together and some kids in class join them. Few hours passed and it's free time. All of them don't know what to do until suddenly one boy gets up
"Let's play soccer!" said the boy as he holds a soccer ball
"Let's do it!" shout the boys
"Join us play, Conan!" said Genta as he took his hand
"Eh? Eh?!" said Conan surprised
All their classmates quickly run to the field and Conan was pulled by Genta followed by Mitsuhiko and Ayumi behind them. Conan then smile by the sight as he looked to the window
"I'm glad… I moved here" thought Conan happily
Back to present
Five of them are now eating together on the dining table together after playing
"I see… So you three have a hard time huh taking Edogawa-kun's trust" said Haibara as he eats
"Yes, it was very hard" said Mitsuhiko half laugh
"Well sorry about that" said Conan as he eats
"But in the end, we did it. Conan-kun being our friend was indeed making everything more lively. Especially being detective boys" said Ayumi happily
"Well that's not wrong… Conan did help me with homework as well" said Genta smiling
"Oi oi, we already told him not to use his intelligence for our purposes right!" said Mitsuhiko angrily
"Ah sorry…"
"It's fine really, he didn't ask me all the time, only math and science" said Conan calming Mitsuhiko
Haibara who sees the sight can help to let out a small smile on how the three kids took Conan trust and becoming his friend that he needed to cure his trauma from his experience in his former school.
