Perfecta Flawless
To be perfectly honest, the careers were falling apart. Only half of us were left, and I knew Aggra was having doubts. On top of that, I was pretty sure Maeve had something to do with Gary-Stu's death. I decided to test my theory.
"Hey Maeve, I was thinking, we each only have one kill, so we should probably step our game up."
"Umm, no. I have two kills." She fell for my trap. Perfect.
"Oh, really? That boy from 12 and who else? Probably some wimpy tribute because you can't handle the tough ones."
"As if! I killed Gary-Stu!" she exclaims and immediately slaps a hand over her mouth. I giggle.
"I thought you might have. I'm over it. Well, we're gonna go hunting now, so come on. Unless you're scared? Aggra can stay and guard the supplies." Maeve looked over at Aggra who shrugged. "Yeah I'm totally stoked to uh, guard the supplies and stuff. Radical." She smiled. "Sick."
Maeve grabbed her daggers and grinned.
"Let's go already. I wanna kill someone." I grinned too. But I grinned because of what I planned to do to Maeve.

Delvin was very cautious. He insisted we vacate the carousel, and instead relocate to a log flume tunnel, as he felt the restaurant would be a big target. The tunnel was also a predictably obvious location, but I said nothing. That was a costly mistake. We soon heard the approach of the overachieving female from the first Panemian district. She was singing an old tune I recognized.
"I'm wishing! I'm wishing!"
"Will you shut up already?"
So she was still accompanied by her comrade, the scrawny female of the second Panemian district. They were approaching our chosen quarters. Delvin grabbed his frying pan. I armed myself with a horn I removed from a unicorn inhabiting the carousel. I was rather excited. On many planets I had visited, combat was a sporting event, and I considered myself quite adept. They were mere metric units away. It was time to act. I crept toward the exit of the cave, gripping my weapon tightly. I considered hurling it as a projectile at the exposed throat of the dark haired female, as she was closer, but decided I might miss and should run in to make sure I eliminated my foe. Surely Delvin would take the other. I was unsure of his ability to succeed, but he would try. I made my move, charging straight for the shorter specimen with the dark hair. She spotted me and flashed her daggers at me, but I remained undeterred. I reared my arm back to plunge my weapon into her vulnerable chest, but she swept her dagger across my arm, causing me to falter. Blood gushed out.
"OH MY GOD WHY IS IT GREEN?"
I had forgotten all about that. It was a result of the aliens' experiments. I used the opportunity to stab my weapon into her stomach and run. Suddenly, something hit me from behind and I collapsed. I reached around to my back and pulled out a blade. It was too small to be her dagger. I craned my neck and saw the singing girl. Delvin was nowhere in sight. There wasn't a cannon. Yet. The girls ran off to presumably hunt other tributes, and he came out of the cave.
"I'm sorry I didn't fight them. Please don't die!" He was crying. I grabbed his hand.
"I'll be right here."
11th Place | Polly Esther: Knife thrown by Perfecta
Polly was amazing. I loved making references with her. I thought about keeping her longer but I decided not to, and I'm glad, because the ET reference is just great, even if it doesn't make sense for the careers to leave. Nobody knows if she really was an alien, but the green blood seems to suggest she was. RIP.
10 tributes left! Who will win? I have a plan, but we will see.
Also, the chapter title comes from the song in Dora's POV.
