We all watched as the field randomizes continued to spin, the 4 combatants waiting for their match to officially begin. "Emerald and Mercury of Haven vs. Coco and Yatsuhashi of Beacon!" Port announced as they stood (or sat, in Yatsuhashi's case) ready.
"Good luck, you two!" Velvet cheered from the stands.
The randomizer was starting to get more complex for the next round, now having 4 areas chosen instead of just 2: The savannah, a ruined city, a mountain geyser area and the forest. "Hey... Nice outfit, kid..." Coco said as she observed Emerald.
"I'll try not to get blood on it." The younger girl said, crossing her arms.
"I can't promise you'll leave without a scratch." Yatsuhashi said, standing up and drawing his sword.
"I won't be the one bleeding." Emerald said, working out her shoulder.
"Oh, I like her!" Coco said, adjusting her glasses.
"You won't after this." I said from where I was.
"So, you and Coco gotten any farther?" Draco asked slyly.
I smirked, but shook my head. "No. We went out for coffee once, but we didn't really have much in common." I explained.
"You barely have ANYTHING in common with your girlfriends." Damion said, looking at me.
"And she's not too much of a talkative type. I tried the usual stuff: The weather, how things have been going between her and her friends, things she's into, nothing worked. I got 'it's nice' for the weather, 'nothing much' for her friends and such and 'clothes and guns' for what she's into." I said. (she really doesn't seem like too much of a talker).
"3, 2, 1, begin!" Port announced as the timer counted down. After it did, the two Haven students backed up into the tall grass of the Savannah, disappearing. Coco and Yatsuhashi simply looked at each other and nodded before Coco brought out her minigun, a bunch of people in the crowd with shades and barrets' going wild as she used it to quite literally mow down and through the grass of the savannah and eliminate her opponent's hiding spot. Lucky that there's a barrier between her and the crowd, or she would've shot SEVERAL people. She stopped after leaving the Savannah grass as short as that of the forest and leaving it all smoking, but the two weren't there, to which Yatsuhashi growled.
"Huh?" Coco asked in confusion, looking to Yatsuhashi they couldn't find their opponents in the grass.
"Look out!" Blake cried out as Mercury came down from the sky, preparing to hit Coco hard with an axe kick. Luckily, Yatsuhashi noticed him first and blocked the kick, throwing him back a small ways, sparks flying from Mercury's feet as he brought himself to a stop. Coco fired at him once again, but he managed to run to the side, evading the many bullets.
"He's good!" Sun said in surprise.
"Yeah, but where's the girl?" Scarlet asked.
Mercury managed to run in between the two of them, kicking Coco's minigun off-balance, knocking Yatsuhashi off-guard and delivering a kick to his face. Coco righted herself and prepared to fire again, but Mercury again dodged, jumping and landing on her minigun. Yatsuhashi prepared to attack again, but Mercury jumped and maneuvered around so that he wound up having Coco's minigun aimed at Yatsuhashi's stomach. "This really builds tension, especially if you forget about aura during the fight." I said, the guys nodding.
Coco looked back at Mercury with slight anger/annoyance and transformed her minigun back into its purse form and swinging back at him, but he did a backflipe to avoid it. He then fired two rounds from his boots (one each), which went spinning and flying at his two opponents, who managed to knock them away, exploding in the geyser area behind them. "Okay, what the fuck just came out of those boots?" Damion asked.
"Right?!" I said.
"Yeah, that's crazy stuff." Nicolas agreed.
"They BETTER explain that somewhere down the line." Draco said.
They looked back at the explosion, then looked back at Mercury and were shocked to see he was break dancing with a huge volley of whatever the hell his ammo is spinning around him.
"What the fuck is that stuff?!" I demanded.
The rounds landed near the two Beacon students, but none hit them. This blinded the two for a moment, allowing Mercury to get behind them and deliver and a quick back and forth combo of kicks to the two of them, knocking Coco to the ground in the middle of the arena, to which he smirked.
Suddenly, as Coco stood up, a chain flew out from the forest and wrapped around her stomach area, yanking her into the forest. "Hey, where's the referee?! Can we see the rules of this tournament, please?" Draco asked.
"Coco!" Yatsuhashi shouted, reaching out to her, turning back in time to receive a kick to the face from Mercury. He recovered quickly and grabbed Mercury by the collar, spinning and flinging him into the geyser area.
"FINALLY, the bad guys are taking some hits." I said.
Yatsuhashi jumped after him, swinging his sword down at the younger male with a shout of power, but Mercury managed to block it with his feet, creating a large shockwave around the two. Caving in the ground somewhat and setting off several geysers. The two continued to exchange blows, blocking or dodging the others attacks, but it was quickly apparent Mercury was in better shape than Yatsuhashi as he was wearing down and getting disoriented by several kicks and a rock getting kicked into his face from Mercury, who eventually knocked him down onto his back... with his head right in front of a geyser spout... which then went off.
"You know, we REALLY should've looked into the health hazards of these types of arenas." Draco pointed out.
"Yeah, that was a mistake on our part." I agreed.
Amazingly, Yatsuhashi stood up after all that abuse and regaining his senses just in time to see Mercury rush in and deliver one final axe kick. As this happened, Coco was yanked deep into the forest and smashed against a tree. She shook herself off to regain her senses and adjust her glasses, when she realized she no longer had them and looked up to see they were smashed not too far away from her. "I take it back... I don't like her." She said angrily. Suddenly, a gunshot went off and she looked just in time to Matrix one of Emerald's green bullets, repeatedly doing backflips to dodge the rain of fire the green-haired girl continued to unload on her before finally whipping out her minigun again and firing, forcing Emerald to go on the defensive and dodge as she continued to shoot and swing through the forest, eventually managing to disappear behind a tree. "Damn..." She said.
"Coco..." Yatsuhashi said as he walked up.
"Watch out. She's in the trees." Coco said, looking back, before looking up to the screen as she heard a buzzer.
"Oh! And with a final blow, Yatsuhashi is eliminated!" Port announced.
"What?!" Coco asked in disbelief, looking back to see Yatsuhashi was no longer there. Her hands began to tremble as she looked around for Emerald, who dashed through the treeline unseen by the gunner. "Damn..." She said.
"Yo, this is on some horror movie type o' shit!" I said as the suspenseful noise/music built up.
"Enough with the Dashie impression already." Damion said.
Suddenly, Emerald popped up behind Coco, raising one of her kamas in preparation for the final strike. Coco realized it at the very last moment and turned back just as Emerald swung, sending her flying out of the forest and landing unconscious beside Yatsuhashi. "What?! How! They kicked epic Grimm ass back in Breach, now they get jobbered by these two?!" Draco said in disbelief.
"I call hacks!" Nicolas shouted.
Emerald emerged from the forest, spinning the blade of one of her kamas on a chain as she walked up to Mercury, who simply stood in the middle of the ring. "And with an amazing upset, Emerald and Mercury are victorious!" Oobleck announced.
"It's an upset alright." Damion said.
"There's something funny going on here..." I agreed, looking at the two victors with suspicion.
"Coco..." Velvet said in sadness and disbelief, covering her mouth at the loss of her teammates, Fox put a hand on her shoulder and managed to calm her down. After a few moments, she nodded and walked off. Just behind them, Cinder smirked at the result and walked off.
Later, at... Somewhere, we've never seen this location before...
"You're... leaving?" Weiss asked sadly.
"Yes. I was merely needed to oversee the transport of additional units to Vale." Winter confirmed.
Back with us...
"So, why are we focusing on this scene? We're not hanging out with the snob sisters." Draco asked.
"It's still vital to the plot." I explained.
Damion groaned at this. "And we're leading up to the point where they give Weiss a new ability to make her needlessly stronger." He grumbled.
"Dude, with what's coming up, I'd say it's fair for everyone to pick up some new tricks." I reasoned.
Back to the Schnee's...
"I believe you had a run-in with its cargo actually. It's fortunate those paladins were still in the prototype stage. Otherwise your team might not have faired so well." Winter explained.
"Oh, no you di-in't!" Nicolas shouted from far away.
"Weiss, you've done... well. Out here, on your own. You should be proud." She said seriously, but then brightened up. "I'll be honest, it was QUITE amusing seeing father's face the day you left for Beacon." She said, trying not to laugh.
"I can't wait to show him what I learned." Weiss said confidently, folding her arms.
Back with us...
"Oh, don't be that girl..." Damion said, rolling his eyes.
Back with them...
"Oh? And what do you think you've learned?" Winter asked.
"What do you mean? I'm getting better and better with my glyphs. I've even started time dilation." Weiss said.
"And what of your summoning?" Winter asked.
Back with us...
We all groaned at the mention of summoning. "On second thought, maybe you were right, Damion." I said.
"It BETTER not be like those Final Fantasy summons that take 5 minutes in total to do its job." Draco said with his arms folded.
Back to them...
"I... You know I can't..." Weiss said regretfully, to which we breathed a sigh of relief.
"Don't be ridiculous, EVERY Schnee has the ability to summon. We have for generations." Winter said, to which we groaned.
"I've tried! It's just... It's the ONE THING I'm having trouble with!" Weiss said.
Back with us...
"You've got that one thing~!" Nicolas sang, before I splattered him with a Hellish Blade Magnum.
Back to them...
"We Schnee's are unique. Unlike many-" Winter started.
Back with us...
"Here-... Heri-... Fuckin'... Damion, how do you spell it?" I asked, looking away from my laptop to him.
"Hereditary." He said, rolling his eyes.
"Thank you." I said, going back to typing.
Back with them...
"Our Sumblance is hereditary." Winter said.
Back to us...
"Not very unique, then, is it?" Damion said.
"Right?" I asked.
Back to them...
"But that doesn't mean that it'll come easily. Your Semblance is like a muscle. The stronger you practice with it, the stronger it will become." Winter said, making a glyph in her hand. "But if you only focus on one aspect of it. If you fail to test the limits of what you think is possible..." Winter started. Suddenly, she expanded the glyph, causing Weiss to shield her eyes. When she looked back, she was shocked to see a white and light blue, wintery-looking Beowulf standing beside her sister. "Then you'll never truly grow." She finished. Weiss looked mystified at first and slowly smiled at her sister.
Back to us...
"You know, I wonder if their summoning is like Velvet's camera and once you use one of the things you beat, in this case, a beowulf, if she loses that and she's down the number of beowulfs she can summon until she kills more or if Weiss summons that soldier she beat in the White Trailer, if its gone for good." I pondered.
Damion looked surprised at this. "That's... actually not a horrible question coming from you. If that is the case, though, Winter wasted a beowulf." He said.
"Another question Rooster Teeth will have to answer for!" Draco added.
"Oh, well. Now let's check in with the FUN people, come on, let's go see what Ruby, Yang and Qrow are up to." I said.
We entered the dorm of the canonical main characters to see Ruby and Qrow in an intense game. "You'll never beat me, old man!" Ruby shouted as she played to the best of her ability.
Qrow scoffed at this. "You're nothing but talk, kid!" Qrow retorted as he began to gain the upper hand.
"You can do it, Ruby!" Yang cheered for her younger sister, fist pumping.
But sadly, in the end, Ruby failed and Scorpion was ripped in half by Sub-Zero's fatality in MKX. "Sorry, Ruby, but I think he beat you." I said as we walked in.
"Wait, why are they playing Mortal Kombat? They were playing some ninja game in the actual show." Damion said.
"It was in a RWBY Crack video I watched. It's funnier this way." I said.
"You focus on that way too much." He criticized.
"Dude, the series is about to get DARK AS FUCK, I need to get all the laughs I can while I still can." I said.
"And by the way, don't ever call me old." Qrow said, looking at his youngest niece.
"My turn!" Yang said, flying in and slamming into Ruby, sending her sprawling across the room and sending the controller airborne until she caught it, sitting beside her uncle.
"Holy shit!" Draco said as he dodged the cannonball-like Ruby.
"Damn, Yang, that was a little extreme. You could've just gently taken the controller from her." I said.
"But isn't Yang doing that funnier?" Damion said trollingly.
"Isn't you supposed to be the dark depressing one?" I asked the same way.
"Now, where was I?" Qrow asked.
"You were telling us about your last mission!" Ruby said excitedly, to which I quickly made a campfire in the middle of the room, pulling out marshmallows and tiny sausages as Qrow spoke.
"Right, right..." He started, the art style turning into watercolored drawings. "I come across this small village in the swamps West of Mistral. "Right off the bat, I knew something wasn't right." He said.
"Never doubt your instincts." I said.
"What were you doing there?" Ruby asked in awe.
Qrow is now walking through the alleys, sword in hand, but rested across his shoulders behind his head, looking at the people behind him. "I needed information. Tired from battling Grimm along the way, I decided to start my search at the town's Inn. The place was crawling with lowlifes and thugs, even a few Huntsmen I can only assume had been hired by less than reputable people for less than respectable jobs." He continued as in the drawing, he walked through the Inn's door.
"It's always tragic when fellow Huntsman wonder off the noble path." I say.
"And that's when it happened..." Qrow said as in the artwork, he was looking towards his left in fear.
"What happened?!" Yang asked, the scene zooming in on Qrow's trembling eyes.
"I was defeated..." He said, now on his knees with his head hung low under a spotlight in the artwork.
"You? Defeated?!" Damion asked in disbelief.
He was suddenly smirking in the artwork. "By the mere sight... of the Innkeeper's skirt length!" He said, the background now pink with hearts, bubbles and sparkles as Qrow held his arms out, a bubble to the winking Innkeeper to his left and the image of her short skirt to his left, still irritatingly too high up for fanservice.
"Perv." My team (minus me) said to Qrow and I while the former used the distraction to his advantage, defeating the bewildered Yang with an uppercut and sending Goro the same way as Scorpion.
Yang growled at this and threw the puppy face pillow at her uncle, who caught it before it hit his face. "You are the worst!" She said, Qrow and Ruby laughing.
"Okay, you're pretty good at this game, but now its time for a champion to show you how its done." I said, plucking the controller from Yang's hand and taking her spot as she sat on Damion's lap (You're welcome, Damion!).
"Champion, eh? We'll see about that." He said.
"I'll have you know my record in the Endless tower is 25 foes loaded with holes." I said as I picked Erron Black (I'm best with him).
"You realize probably dozens of people online have crushed that record?" Damion says.
"And I've beaten story mode on Very Hard mode without losing a match once." I said, although less confidently than before.
"So, Uncle Qrow, did you get in trouble with Ozpin?" Ruby asked as she sat down on Weiss' bed and our match started in the Lin Kuei temple.
"Naw, me and Oz go WAY back. We're cool." He said calmly.
"Cool for an old guy." Yang teased.
"Not funny." Qrow said, annoyed.
"You know what's not cool? Fireballs." I said, throwing the fire in the statue at him, hitting him.
"Well played? But it's tough to hit me when I go under the fire!" He said, using the ice slide.
"Sand Grenade." I said, countering with it.
"So, what are you doing here, anyway? Dad said you'd be away on a mission for like... ever." Ruby said.
"Well, a PROFESSIONAL Huntsman like myself is expected to get results. Speaking of results!" He said, making Sub-Zero throw and iceball.
"You're not the only one with a slide!" I said, using Black's Enhanced Slide move, ducking under the iceball, knocking Sub-Zero into the air and shooting him twice with his revolvers. "You're right, those were great results." I taunted.
"Yeah, I get that. We're pretty much pros, too." Ruby said.
"As you can tell!" I said, shooting at him with Unload, but he stopped it with Sub-Zero's ice shield... thing.
"Oh, really?" Qrow asked sarcastically.
"Yeah, read the news sometime. We totally saved Vale one time while you were away." Yang said.
"You wanna get technical, WE saved Vale and you guys. We were the last ones standing after the fight. X-RAY!" I shouted, doing a quick 2 punches (double square, leaves them TOTALLY open) and unleashing the X-Ray, watching as the carved bullet bounced off the cryomancer's pelvis, shoulder and jaw.
"And we played a sick music number while we were at it!" Draco said.
"Alright, not bad. But I heard Vale suffered a devastating Grimm attack after you ALMOST stopped a train crash." Qrow said, managing to unleash his own X-Ray.
"NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO!" I shouted as the mercenary's intestines were ripped out, frozen and driven into his eye.
"Close. You're both almost dead. I'm betting on my uncle." Yang said, to which my eye twitched.
"20 Lien on Unlce Qrow!" Ruby cheered.
"Sorry, Sai, but I'm going with Qrow." Damion said.
"E tu, Dame`?" I asked in a hurt tone.
"I got your back, Sai! Hundred on the Silver-Haired Enigma!" Draco said.
"I bet a turtle Sai will win! You better not lose this, Sai! I love turtles!" Nicolas said, causing everyone else to sweatdrop.
"GO FOR BROKE!" I shouted, using the pistol whip combo (forward square, double triangle) to bring him down, leaving Qrow in shock.
"FINISH HIM!" The announcer shouted.
"Gladly." I said, using Sand Storm and watching as Sub-Zero was shot, had a sand grenade thrown into his chest and had the sand burst everywhere from him after it was shot. "Good luck getting the sand out of there." I said confidently.
"Impressive. You can stop yourself from losing a game, but you can't stop a train." Qrow said with a smirk at the end.
"It was Nicolas and Blake's fault." I said, collecting the money.
"But they don't give out medals for almost." He said.
"They do and it's called Silver!" Ruby said.
"Owned." I said.
"Well, we stopped Roman Torchwick. He's locked up in Ironwood's ship and crime's been down ever since. That's basically a bounty mission." Yang said.
"And we prevented the serious damage the Grimm could've done to the city." Damion said.
"Sure, you may be acting like Huntresses and Huntsmen, but you aren't thinking like them. You really think 4 girls and their friends could end all crime in the kingdom?" He asked.
"I mean, I did until you said that." Ruby said, putting her fingertips together.
"What about 6 girls, 6 demons and/or vampires, a bunch of aliens and their friends?" I asked.
"Violence hasn't dropped since Roman got nabbed. It's stopped. COMPLETELY." He started.
"Yay! We did our job before we even have the job!" Draco said, to which Damion facepalmed.
Qrow scoffed, then continued. "No White Fang activity ANYWHERE in the city. You cut off the head of a King Taijitu, but now the second head is calling the shots. That's what Ironwood can't get through that thick metal head of his." He finished.
"Damn the King Taijitu's and their second heads!" I said.
"You know the general?" Yang asked.
"Hey, I know everyone to some extent. Remember, you're talking to a member of the coolest team to graduate Beacon." Qrow said, pulling out a picture of his team, which Yang closely looked at.
"Ooh, photos. Old school. Nice touch." Nicolas said.
Qrow let out a nostalgic sigh. "Team STRQ (Stark). That's when I met your parents." He said, moving his thumb so it blocked the face of the woman who saved Yang on the train. "We were PRETTY well-known back in the day." He said.
"Well-known for crummy fashion sense." Ruby teased.
"BURN!" I laughed.
"Hey, we looked good!" Qrow said.
"Man, please, look at us. See this? Our shit CLEAN, son!" Draco said in his Dashie voice, gesturing to team BDSS' sharp clothing.
"Yeah, well I have a number of inappropriate stories that can back up MY good looks." He said, raising his eyebrows twice.
"Dude, I'm dating..." I started, but then had to think. "Lady, Moka, Pyrrha, Nora,, Saeko, Lightning, Vanille... That's it, right? Yeah." I confirmed in my head, before looking. "7 women AT ONCE, you do NOT want to challenge me in that department." I said.
Qrow realized Yang was getting too attached to the picture and pulled it away, snapping her out of her trance. "BUT, I'll save those for when you're older." He said, to which Ruby shuddered.
"Appropriate response. I'd tell my NEPHEWS about my dirty sex stories, but NEVER my nieces, what the hell's wrong with you?" I asked.
He chuckled at this. "Too much, kid. Too much." He said.
"At least he admits it, which is more than I can say for you." Damion said.
"Hey!" I snapped.
"Anyway, I'm too old to be hanging out with a bunch of kids. You're gonna cramp my style." He said, starting to leave.
"Dying style!" Draco called.
He then sighed. "Look, Just remember you've still got a long way to go. And don't think for a second that graduating means you're done. Every day out there is worth a week in this place. But all of you are gonna go far. But only if you keep learning. If you never stop moving forward." He said before finally leaving.
"Wow. Words of wisdom. I've got like 5 uncles, but none of them have ever dropped pearls of knowledge like that. The greatest advice I've heard from them was when my uncle Senso told me 'beer before liquor, you'll never be sicker, liquor before beer, you're in the clear.'" I said, looking back at my team, Ruby and Yang, who all had their jaws drops. "Close dat mouf." I said like Dashie.
Back with the Schnee's...
Weiss was at the ready, holding her weapon out and creating a decent sized glyph on the ground. "Excellent form! Think to your fallen foes! The ones that forced you to push past who you were! And become who you are now!" Winter instructed as the glyph began to flicker. "Think of them. And watch as they come to your side." She said as Weiss growled, the glyph spinning quickly, but nothing really happening and then shrinking a bit.
"I CAN'T!" Weiss snapped, stomping her foot and the glyph shrinking to oblivion.
How did Winter solve her sister's distress? With another smack to the back of the head, of course! "Stop doubting yourself!" She snapped.
"I'm trying!" Weiss snapped back.
"This is what you call succeeding? Then you have NO hope of winning the tournament, let alone succeeding as a Huntress!" Winter scolded, then got a sly/smug look on her face. "Why don't you just move back home? I'm sure father would give you a nice job as a receptionist!" She said.
Back with us...
"Yeah, Doctor Phil, I'm telling you, you're gonna have a GREAT story to work with here. Oh, hang on, getting another call." I said, switching to the other line. "Oprah, baby! So, what are we looking about in terms of the Schnee Sister Squable? And how much money are we talking for me giving you this story?" I asked rubbing my fingers together like I had cash between them.
"Pretty good title." Draco said.
Back with them...
"I don't need his charity!" Weiss said, looking away.
"But you do need his money, don't you?" Winter asked, leaning in, that smug look still on her face.
"What?! How did you know about that?!" Weiss asked, looking back at her sister.
"Lucky guess." Winter said, leaning back. "I may have been in a similar situation when I joined the military. So what have you done this time?" She asked.
Back to us...
The 4 members of team BDSS and the two sisters of team RWBY looked between each other with wide eyes. "This time?" We all asked at the same time, even Oprah saying it over the phone!
Back to them...
"Well, that's the thing. I'm not sure. I went to pay for lunch the other day, but my card didn't work." Weiss explained.
"How embarrassing." Winter said dramatically.
"I know!" Weiss said, Winter shaking her head. "Well, it was! Why would he cut me off like that?" The younger Schnee pouted.
"Perhaps so you'd stop avoiding him and call home." Winter said, Weiss looking like she just drop a serious truth that WASN'T obvious on her. She looked away and quickly turned that to anger as she tried once again to summon something. Winter put a hand on her shoulder. "Emotions can grant you strength. But you must never let them overpower you." She explained, the glyph vanishing again.
Back to us...
"Aww, she's finally giving her sister helpful, nurturing advice. Just like a certain black-haired Sephiroth never did for me." I said in a sweet tone.
"You meant Nightshade, right?" Draco asked.
"Yeah." I confirmed, Damion rolling his eyes.
"Could I possibly get you and this Nightshade character on this show, too?" Oprah asked.
"FUCK NO!" I said, hanging up.
Back to them...
"It seems to me like you have two choices in front of you. You can call him, beg for his money back and explain once more why you want to study at Beacon over Atlas." Winter started, from Weiss' expression, clearly not the desired path. "OR, you could explore Remnant, continuing to learn more about the world and, honestly, more about yourself." She said, Weiss looking as if she was considering the option. "It's time for me to go." Winter said, pulling her younger sister into a hug, which was quickly returned.
"It was really good to see you, Winter." Weiss said happily.
"Until next time, sister." Winter said simply, the two of them walking the same way, before taking opposite paths to their destination.
Back to us...
"Aww... That's... So sweet." Draco said, wiping a tear from his eye.
"Wow, you're really crying, aren't you?" I asked.
"YES!" He wept, clinging to me and hugging me. So I set myself on fire to make him back off.
But what the two Schnees didn't see was the small sword Weiss had managed to summon, a caterpillar investigating it before it disappeared. Later that night, Weiss waved as Winter's ship flew away. Suddenly, she received a call from her father on her scroll. She was about to answer, but then thought for a moment before closing the scroll and denying it.
Back to us...
"Damn, if one of my sisters had rejected that many of my dad's calls, he would've sliced them in half by now. They'd survive, just learn a lesson to answer their phone every once in a while." I said, the guys looking at me again in shock. "What?"
