Chapter 6: The Wand Weighing/The first task It will start with the wand weighing then go into the first task.

I feel like I may be going to fast tell me if you think I am. :)

I am trying to do like 3 chapters in demigod POV's then a wizards POV, does that sound good?

Harry's POV's

I was in potions and it was as terrible as ever, all the slytherins were sporting their Potter Stinks badges and whenever I was looking would puff out their chest to show it.

Then, Colin Creevey came in and smiled at me and walked up to Snape. "Yes?" Snape said,"I am supposed to take Harry Potter upstairs sir." Colin said still beaming at me."Very well, potter go and leave your bag for when you get back."

"Sir, Dumbledore said for him to bring his stuff because it will take a while." said Colin said who started to shrink under the glares from Snape's ice-cold eyes. He nodded and I left with Colin next to me. We went upstairs and into a classroom, all the other champions were there as well. There was also Madame Maxime, Mr. Karkaroff, , Barty Crouch, Ludo Bagman, and some woman in magenta robes who looked very anxious.

The woman hurried over and shook my hand,"Hi I am Rita Skeeter, very nice to meet you all, I am doing a piece for The Daily Prophet, I am gonna interview you all , shall we start with the youngest, Lovely!" She said and then pulled me into a broom closet. She pulled out a pad paper and a wired looking quill.

"So Harry... What made you decide to enter the Quad-Wizard tournament?" said Rita Skeeter.

"Er.." I said and then got distracted by the quill, I hadn't said anything and the quill was writing all across the paper."Ignore the quill Harry" said ,"So what made you decide to enter?"

"I didn't," I said,"I didn't put my name in the goblet, I don't know how it got there." Rita looked at me with a face that said she didn't believe me.

She asked me a few more questions, I was getting very angry because no one would believe I didn't put my name in. Then, the door was yanked open by Professor Dumbledore,I hurried out thankful to be free from that crazy lady.

We had been down the hall so I hurried back to where the others were standing, Dumbledore and Rita Skeeter came in a few moments later."Well, everyone is here now we cans start the wand weighing." said Dumbledore and then went over to ."For those who don't know him, this is , he will be checking your wands to make sure they are in perfect working order."

" , you are up first." Said and Fleur Delacour walked over and handed her wand over to him. He held the wand for a minute before saying,"9 1/2 inches, rosewood, inflexible, and what is the core."

"The core is the hair of a veela, one of my grandmothers." she said with her french accent. Ohh so Ron was right, she is part veela I made a note to tell Ron, but I forgot that we weren't talking to each other.

Ollivander passed Fleur back her wand and called Cedric next, he walked up and handed over his wand."12 3/4 inches, ash, reasonably springy, unicorn tail hair, I see you take care of it well." He gave Cedric back his wand and called up Krum. He walked up and handed over his wand.

"10 3/4, hornbeam, quite rigid, with dragon heartstring core. It seems fine." He said handing him back his wand and called me over.

I walked up to him and handed over my wand, he looked at it and said,"Ahh yes I remember this one 11 inches, holly, nice and supple, with a phoenix feather core, it seems to be fine but could use a polish. you are up next." he handed me my wand and I sat down.

Leo walked over and handed his wand which I noticed it was different then most wands I have seen."Now this wand is very peculiar, never seen one like it before." Leo looked up from something he was fiddling with and said,"It is 11 3/4 inches, celestial bronze, with greek fire as its core." Ollivander looked very confused and asked,"Where did you get this wand?"

"My Aunt Hecate made it for me." he said and he looked like he was gonna burst. I remembered that he had said something about really bad ADHD before. "Why is it made from this metal?" Ollivander asked, Leo shrugged and said,"To avoid accidents." If Ollivander wasn't confused before he definitely was now."What do you mean by that?" He asked a little suspiciously. Suddenly, Leo's hand burst into flame,"Fire+Wood=Burn so I have a metal wand." Leo said and I could tell he was enjoying this. and the other teachers who hadn't seen Leo doing this at meal times, he handed Leo cack his wand and then said something to Dumbledore.

"You are all dismissed we are done her." He said and we all left for my next lesson and to go tell Hermione what happened.

It was the day of the first task and I was in the great hall eating breakfast with Hermione as usual. I noticed that Annabeth was arguing with Leo about something in a weird language. Annabeth said,"Τί έκανες? Ηλίθιε! Τι είπε?" and then Leo replied,"Μόλις του έδειξα το ραβδί και είπα ότι ήταν φτιαγμένο από ουράνιο χάλκινο, εντάξει κυρία." You can put it through google translate if you want to know what they're saying.

Annabeth relaxed but still looked worried and they continued eating again."Harry, are you ready? Have you got the spell mastered? Do you know what you are gonna do?" Hermione bombarded me with question,"Yes, Yes, and yes okay I am ready for this." I said, I was ready but really nervous.

We finished our breakfast and I went down to the quidditch pitch as instructed my Mcgonagall before breakfast. There was a little tent and I went inside, Fleur and Krum were there but Leo and Cedric were still at breakfast. We sat in silence for another few minutes then Leo and Cedric entered with Ludo Bagman.

"Champions gather around and I will tell you what you have to facetoday." I think all of us knew except Leo, I kinda felt bad for the guy. continued,"Today you will be facing dragons, you must retrieve the golden egg from the nest, it will give you a clue as to what you must face next-" I glanced at Leo he didn't even look worried and he was once again fiddling with something, where does he even store that stuff anyway.

"In this bag you will get a the dragon you will have to face and the number in which you will face them." He held a bagup to Fleur she reached in an pulled out a small minute dragon with the number 1 on it, Cedric was next he got a different dragon with the number 3 on it, Then next went Krum who pulled out a dragon with the number 2, Leo went next and pulled one out with the number 5, and finally I went and got a dragon with the number 4 on it.

The label read The Hungarian Horntail, Bagman said,"At the sound of the horn you will go out will go first then , you get the picture. I will leave now see you all in the ring." He left and we sat in silence for a few moments then Leo said with a smile,"Welp,Good Luck guys!" Then the horn blew and Fleur left, a little while later there were cheers and I expected that Fleur had retrieved her egg. A few more horns later, it was just me and Leo, I heard cheer's and knew that Cedric had retrieved his egg and I was next up.

Leo was sitting down and still fiddling, then the horn blew."Good Luck, Leo." I said he looked up and replied,"Good Luck to you too man" and with that I left the tent.

The quidditch pitch looked completely different from normal, besides the giant dragon in the middle. There were rocks and shrubs everywhere, I spotted the golden egg in the nest under the dragon at that same moment the dragon spotted me. She blew a column of fire at me and I ducked behind a rock and then took out my wand a shouted,"Accio Firebolt!" then I ducked back as more fire came towards me.

Then I saw it whizzing toward me, my broomstick. It reached me and I mounted it I went up into the air and started flying around the stadium making a plan. I need to get her away from the nests I thought, I got close enough to be a threat but not in fire range. It was just what I needed she lifted up, I made sure to stay within distance to be a threat but still out of range. Then as she was ready to blow more fire I made a dive under her and grabbed the egg.

IT WORKED! Except for the part where I got burned and then ran into a rock. I was hurried to the little hospital tent where madame pomfrey was helping someone else."Ohh my, come here dear." and I was sat down on a bed she put some stuff on my wounds along with some bandages. I felt better already, I heard the horn signaling that it was Leo's turn to go. After, what seemed to be only 30 seconds I heard cheering. He couldn't have done it that fast could he my thought were interrupted be Hermione and Ron hurring in to the tent.

"Harry, are you alright mate? Whoever put your name in that goblet was definitely trying to get you killed." Ron said.

"So you believe me now hmm." I said glaring at him. "Will you guys stop it already, Harry are hurt to badly?" I sighed,"I am alright nothing a little magic can't fix up anyway, what did the others do?"I asked eagerly. They explained what Fleur, Krum, and Cedric did. Those all really impressed me,"So what did Leo do?" I asked and they both got these very confused looks on their faces."Well he sorta just walked up to it and grabbed the egg."

"What?" I asked not sure I heard him right,"What do you mean?"

"Well, he entered into the ring and walked up to the dragon, and then got blasted with fire-" Hermione said but I stopped her,"WHAT HE GOT BLASTED WITH FIRE WHY IS HE NOT IN HERE?"

"Wait I didn't finish, he got blasted with fire and then when the fire cleared he was just standing there perfectly fine, then he walked forward more and the dragon was just confused as to why he wasn't a burnt pile of ash, he grabbed the egg and left." she finished and I was really confused.

"Well aren't there charms that make you fireproof?" I asked, Herimine nodded but said,"Not like that just like mildly, not even a Dumbledore could make himself completely fireproof against dragon fire."

"Well,we'll have to do some investigating as to how he did it, then won't we?" I said, and Ron and Hermione nodded and then were chased out by madame Pomfrey.
