"Hey I have an idea." Ola said after they'd reunited. "I know it's getting late here so it's the middle of the night in England, but I don't think mama and daddy would mind."Ola looked at Olivia Benson. "Are we okay to give our parents a ring. I'll put them on speaker phone?"
"Of course. Will it be okay if I talk to them for a few minutes after you have?"
"Sure." She rang her mother who didn't answer then rang again as she knew that would turn off the do not disturb feature. "Sweeie, it's the middle of the night? Are you okay?." Came her mother's tinny voice out of her phone. "Hi Mama. I'm fine. Are you in bed? Is daddy with you?" Ola asked.
"Yes. What's going on Ola?" Her mother asked. "Put me on speaker so daddy can hear too. I've got someone here who'd like to speak to you." Livvy smiled at her little sister. "Cześć Mama, Hi Daddy..it's me...it's Izabela." She said anxiously. Stunned silence on the other side of the phone. Dad (Andy) regained his composure first. "Hi Izzy-Bug. This is a surprise. A wonderful one. It's so good to hear your voice."
"No...no my daughter is dead. It's not you." Mama's (Marta) voice came filled with disbelief and emotion. "Mama no it is me. I alive. Jest ja, jest Izabela." Izzy pleaded.
"Moja Izabela, moja Córka. Moja Maleńka."
"Tak mama, jest ja."
"Oh let me get Anna!" Their mother said.
"No mama wait!" Ola said. "It's totally up to you but don't forget Anna has her last GCSE tomorrow. You know Anna and this will totally throw her off. If I was you I'd hold off telling her until after her exam and then you can all get a flight over here. I guess?" She said looking at Lieutenant Olivia for verification. Who nodded. "Her exam is in the morning right so she'll be done by 11.30- it's chemistry isn't it? You should be at Gatwick by 3.30? I'll look for flights as soon as I get off the phone.."
"We can sort that." Olivia Benson told them.
"The police said they can sort you a flight."
"Ola. Can you put us on video so we can see Izabela." Their mother asked and Ola did and handed the phone to Izabela. "Hi Mama?" Izzy said nervously. "Hi malenka." Her mother replied. They looked at each other silently for a moment. "What happened to you Izabela?" Her mother asked. "Are you okay...has anyone hurt you..where have you been?" Their mother asked quickly. Izabela visibly tensed so lieutenant Olivia Benson intervened. "Mrs Jones. Hi I'm Lieutenant Olivia Benson from the NYPD special victims unit and I've been talking to Izabela all day. I think that now might not be the time. She's had a lot of questions today. I know that tomorrow is a very special day. My main options for this evening is to call CPS who could take Izabela to a Foster home for the night but I don't want to separate her from Ola or introduce Izabela to more people she doesn't know. I don't really want to put them in a hotel either. I was wondering if you would be opposed to me taking the girls back to my apartment. The only other person who lives there is my son Noah. It's against protocol but if I have your permission then that's fine." Olivia asked their parents.
"You're a mother?" Marta Izabela's own mother asked. "Yes, Noah's six." Olivia told her.
"Thank you for looking after our girls. We would love if they could stay with you." Andy told Olivia.
"Great." Olivia said. "Is that okay with you girls. If you stay with me tonight and see your parents tomorrow?"
"Yes." Izabela smiled
"Thank you so much." Ola said to the woman who had showed her baby sister so much kindness.
"Say goodnight to your mom and dad." Olivia said passing the phone back to Izabela. I have a few ends to tie up here then we can head home.
