Ola carried Izzy into Olivia's appartement and Olivia brought some groceries. "How does burgers sound?" Olivia asked the girls. "Good" Izzy answered. "Sounds delicious." Ola replied.
"Hi Mommy." Noah came running then stopped when he saw the girls. "Noah, this is Ola and Izzy and they're gonna have a sleepover with us tonight. Ok? This is my son Noah he's six."
"Hi Noah." Ola said placing her sister on the ground "I'm Ola. You and Izzy have matching curly hair. Don't you. I hope you don't mind us sharing your flat for the night."
"What's a flat? And why do you sound weird." Noah asked bluntly.
"Noah." Olivia cautioned.
"Sorry I mean apartment. I'm from England so I have an English accent." Ola smiled.
"England like the patriots?" Noah asked.
"No that's New England. I am from England."
"Old England?" Noah asked.
"I suppose so. There's a place called York in England that New York is named after."Ola told him.
"Cool." Noah smiled. "Bye Lucy." He said as his nanny left.
"Izzy come say hello to Noah" Ola asked her sister.
"Hi" came her shy little voice.
"Hi" Noah said back. "Do you like Lego's? I have some and you can come play if you want."
"That sounds fun Izzy. Do you need any help with dinner Olivia?" Ola asked.
"No, go sit with those two. Thanks though."Olivia smiled "you've been great today."
"Olivia, you've found my little sister and made her feel safe. That's an answer to all my prayers."
Ola watched as Izzy played with the Lego's. "I make a house." She said.
"Who lives in your house."Ola Asked.
"Me and you and mama and daddy and Anna and Olivia and Amanda and Catalina and Karina and Ruslana. We all happy. No one hurt us."
"No ones going to hurt you anymore." Ola hugged her sister.
"I made a rocket." Noah said.
They ate showered and went to bed. "I'm going to have bath when I go home." Izzy said.
"You can do whatever you want. Can you still remember your Lord's Prayer?"
"Ojcze Nasz, któryś jest w niebie, święć się Imię Twoje. Przyjdź królestwo Twoje. Bądź wola Twoja, jako w niebie tak i na ziemi. Chleba naszego powszedniego daj nam dzisiaj. I odpuść nam nasze winy, jako i my odpuszczamy naszym winowajcom. I nie wódź nas na pokuszenie, ale nas zbaw ode złego. Amen." Izzy rattled off in Polish.
"You have such a good memory." Ola praised her sister. "I say every day then I ask God to safe me from Mr D and Mommy." Izzy said.
"May I kiss your cheek?" Ola asked her sister and Izzy nodded. She was wearing one of Olivia's old t shirts as pijamas. Olivia knocked on the door and came in. "Are the two of you okay?" She asked. "We're fine" Ola replied "but I feel really bad that we're taking your bed and you're on the sofa. Are you sure it's okay. I'm happy to sleep on the floor."
"Ola it's fine honestly.I hope you sleep well. You know where I am if you need me." Olivia smiled.
"Thank you" Ola smiled. Izzy was already almost asleep.
Ola woke with a start to her sister thrashing and shouting "nie, nie, nie. Pomóż mi, przestań" no no no, help me, stop it. "Izzy, what's wrong darling? Iz? Are you awake? Izzy shush you'll wake Olivia's son." Ola sushed her sister but it wasn't working. Her eyes were wide and pupils dilated. Sweating and breathing heavily. She was still thrashing and shouting. "Izzy? Izzy? You're scaring me. What's wrong Izzy-bug?" Ola continued beginning to panic a bit herself. So she tried in Polish insted "Co jest nie tak? Izzy?" Ola was scared now. Olivia came in "what's happening to her?" Ola asked the police officer. "Izzy, Izabela?" Olivia asked waving her hand in front of Izzy's eyes and got nothing. "She's having a nightmare. There's not much we can do." Olivia told Ola "shouldn't we wake her?"
"No. She'll be confused and disoriented. All we can do is comfort her. She might wake up anyway. It should pass soon. I'll sit with you."
"No nie nie." Izzy continued to shout. "It's okay Izzy we're here, we've got you." Ola told her sister. Soon Izzy began to calm. Her eyes closed and her breathing regulated. Her limbs relaxed. "You okay Ola" Liv asked and Ola nodded. "Try and get some sleep. If she has another nightmare come and wake me." Liv said. "We'll be okay, I don't want to cause you to loose any sleep. I hope we haven't woken Noah. You've done so much already." Ola babbled. "Ola, If Izabela has another nightmare. Wake me." Olivia said firmly. "And Noah can sleep through hurricanes. Get some sleep Sweetie." She said and left the room.
A few hours later it happened again. "Potrzebuję pomocy , nie nie" Izzy thrashed. Ola rushed to the door. "Olivia?" Then rushed back to comfort her sister as the detective rushed in. This time Izzy woke but was disoriented and flinched away from Ola. "Izabela." Olivia said kindly but firmly. "I'm Olivia Benson. And this is your sister Ola. You are at my apartment and you are safe here. It's over Izzy, your safe." Izzy seemed to calm a little and Ola spoke to her in Polish. Izzy's fear broke to tears of relief as she hugged her sister. She looked up at Olivia. "In my head. When I asleep. It not over. It happen again and again." She sobbed. "I want it to go. I want to forget."
"I know sweetie." Olivia said kindly her hand on Izzy's arm who was secure in her sisters lap. But there are people that can help you. Maybe not today, but one day. And you will be okay."
"Izzy. Shall we pray another prayer? And I can sing amazing Grace?" Ola asked. "There's a really nice prayer that the children I look after
In Connecticut say. As I lay me down to sleep I pray the Lord my soul to keep. His love to guard me through the night and wake me in the morning light." She said it again a line at a time and Izzy repeated. "I'll leave you be" Olivia said quietly as Ola began to sing to her sister.
