Kai and Hilary don't know each other in the fanfiction yet nor they have met. This is based on non-canon world so bye-bye Beyblade for this shot.

Kai was a senior high-school student who came to meet his childhood friend Tyson during his summer holidays but also he planned to shift here. it would take him 1-2 days to get his stuffs here and settled in, so he was livin' in Tyson's till.

It had been years since he last visit bakutan city. it changed so fast like it was yesterday when he left this place to take next step of his life. Kai and Tyson had decided to go around to check new things but grandpa interrupted them and handed the grocery list to his grandson.

Tyson had no balls to deny, so kai and Tyson had to part their ways on street market and shopping alleys.

"this place has changed so much" Kai mumbled in his breath as he exhaled.

"yeah! I know! make sure you don't get lost" Tyson teased him with toothy smile.

"you are the one who need to be careful or do you want me to remind you about last time" kai comment back with playful smirk. he won.

As they apart, somehow kai liked it b/c now he could go around by his own without Tyson's judgemental mouth, but he had to accept he underestimated Tyson's line. the building changed so much that it too him time to get the area. Unfortunately, he took the wrong way after another and found himself in different place.

This time, this place was quite different from that lousy shopping alleys, it was more quiet and away from working streets and barely 2-3 people were walking on the road. the elegant coffee shops were giving old school vibes. everything was so much of his taste, so quiet, so beautiful. After spending a little time here and there. kai realised that he should head back to the Grenger's residence.

Kai had to drop his ego behind and called Tyson to tell him he actually got lost. he knew he was going to make joke of himself and Tyson would tease him his rest of life but what else he could do.

This place had some network issues which pissed off him more.

Kai stopped infront of a small crockery store but he didn't noticed it even tho a stand was outside the Store too since the shop was pretty cute and well maintained.

"damn it! Grenger" he cursed him or maybe his karma. Unexpectedly his eyes landed on one of coffee cups. he had no intention to buy it nor he wanted to but suddenly a soothing voice came out of the blue.

"you want to buy something?" a sweet famenine voice reached into his eyes which caused him goosebumps. he felt the tingling sensation just by hearing this voice.

"hello" a brunette girl of same age came in his view, she asked politely with a genuine smile.

"no! I'm actual-" when Kai's eyes landed on her and met her ruby red eyes. it felt like time stopped for him, how could someone can be...THIS PRETTY!

Everything was so unique about the person infront of him. From her hair color to her fingernails, everything was beautiful.

"huh?" Kai's incomplete sentence confused her. even her dumbfounded expression was so cute as her eyes lightly widened, her lips slightly parted and her head tilted.

"I mean yes! I'm here to buy something!" kai changed his plans without thinking just to admire her more.

"so what should I show you?" she asked with polite smile.

'what about your heart' he thought even though he couldn't believe his thinking but he thought about her "..." kai slightly looked around just to know what exactly this place was for.

It took him 4-5 seconds to understand it's actually a shop but there had more than variety of coffee cups than others stuffs like this place was specially for cups and tea sets.

"coffee cup" he answered, even though he didn't need it but ehh!! how could he deny her beautiful smile, JUST HOW!

"oh! then you come to right place!" she brightly smiled again "did you like anything from these. if not then we have more designs in stock so please let me know what you want to buy"

"sure" he answered in monotone 'I want to buy whole store including you' there had no break on his thoughts 'correction: only you' he corrected himself. what's wrong with him, it was like there had war going on between his heart, brain and his pride. both heart and brain reunited the moment he saw this red eyed brunette girl but his egoistic pride wasn't ready to accept he...liked her?

Kai checked few cups by observing them one by one, checking if there has any cracks. tbh, he didn't know what he was actually looking for.

"you want regular size or large one?" she saw his movements and concluded that her this customer wasn't good in shopping and stuffs. she even doubt that he was actually here for buy anything or wasting her time. she slightly frowned her eyebrows but didn't let her smile go away from her face.

"regular!" he answered without cracking his confidence.

"if that so, then I will suggest you *takes a cup* this one" she handed him so he could check it hut unexpectedly they fingers slightly touched which make his blood rush to his brain. it was intentional from anybody's side but it happened.

Kai focused his thoughts on the cup in his hand and pretended it observe it but he had to say she had taste, she chose a black mug with a beautiful red pheonix's lineart image, it had a beautiful long feathery tale.

"the handle it quite big so you can easily hold it with all fingers b/c most of time customers complaint they can't hold cups properly which cause them to drop it sometimes, so we make them according to demand" she answered.

"you guys make these! so they are all handmade by you" Kai's eyes widened to know 'beautiful person's beautiful creation'

"haha! no not me! it's my uncle who made this" she nervously laughed and honestly answered "I also tried to make during my pottery session but believe me mine looks super ugly" she whispered vulgarly as you know one of tricks to get befriend with customers but hilary genuinely told him. "but I'm good in art and I'm the one who painted the cups, including the one in your hand!" this time she spoke through her ruby red eyes.

"the fire pheonix too!?" he asked and she nodded with polite smile.

"it's pretty good. keep practicing till you get perfect" kai positivity answered.

"yeah! sure I would do it if I was into this" she uneasily answered.

"hn?"

"oh! I don't work here. it's my auntie's shop, she went to buy some groceries for dinner so I'm taking care of this shop for her but I've to say I love this shop and I comes often b/c I can peacefully sit here and keep this all Beautiful stuffs to admire by myself" she answered like she was talking with her but it was in her nature, she make friends everywhere within no time. she just let her feelings flow from the bottom of her heart.

Kai silently listened her, he had to say she was really something. someone he had never met in his life. he have never had been in relationship nor he like to let any girl be around him. even physical touches disgusted him so why he wanted to hold this girl for himself.

"I'll buy" he said while kept looking at her smile.

"huh?" once again, his incomplete sentence confused her. she uttered with confused look.

"I'll buy, this one!" he handed to pack the cup which she chose for him earlier.

"thank you for purchasing from us. we will not disappoint you" she bowed and gave one of them genuine smile with closed eyes. kai nodded in return.

"actually we also provide home delivery! we gives it b/c mostly people have to go somewhere else or they comes with more stuffs so there has chances to drop it in way, it's just for the product's safety!" she added.

"hm! no need I will carry it!" he answered, she wrapped the cup properly, put it in a box and wrap it in another paper packing. there you go! During all procedure, he carefully noticed her each movement. he didn't let her know he was glaring hard on her but he couldn't control his sneaky gazes to land on her smile which she kept all time.

"there you go" she handed it to him and now finally the time came, he had to live this place. time to say goodbye. His heart and thoughts were screaming for making atleast first move before leaving but he didn't want to look like an idiot either.

He turned around and walked to door. he opened it but before he left, something hit his thoughts. he turned back to her. she looked up, her sweet smile came back on her lips. it wasn't normal welcoming smile which she gave to her every customer.

"I would actually prefer home delivery" he came back to her desk. he passed him a pen and note so he could write the address to deliver.

"I couldn't believe I didn't notice" kai slightly chuckled on his own mentality while writing down Tyson's address b/c he didn't had current residence in this town.

She didn't say anything but only giggled, trying to cover her mouth.

"HAVE A NICE DAY!" she said as she took the note. it had an address and a phone number. HMMMM...!

"and one more thing!" asking her was better than asking Tyson.

"yes!" she looked up at him with attentive eyes.

"what's the route for main shopping Street?" he asked.

"hehehe, sorry!...you go this way and take right from post box and go in first alley. it straight goes to main street" she explained him properly so he could get it.

"thanks!" and kai finally left to go back to Tyson's.

A sudden thought crossed his mind, his stopped on his ground as his eyes widened.

'I didn't ask for her name! DAMN IT!!!' he growled on himself "definitely later"

I just couldn't believe I really wrote this *coving my eyes with embarassment*

kai: what! why blaming me... she can write a whole shot where I had to play her role and- *Hilary eyed him with shut up glares*
