CRAZY
The building they were taken to was nothing like what they were expecting. Instead of luxury to the highest degree, they ended up getting a smelly old building that was dilapidated and teeming with a crude feeling of cursed energy all around it.
"There's definitely a Curse in there," Fushiguro said flatly against the cries of despair and utter defeat from Itadori and Kugisaki.
"Liar! This ain't Roppongi! Don't play with us country folk!" Kugisaki shouted while pointing an accusing finger at Gojo.
"There's a cemetery as well as an abandoned building. That in which both attract Curses," Gojo said.
"So graves are a hot spot for Curses?" Itadori asked, seemingly already over the betrayal while Kugisaki was still upset and trying to be consoled by Juri.
"It's not necessarily cemeteries themselves," Fushiguro cut in. "The fear that humans have towards cemeteries is the problem."
"Right. The school was also like that."
After a moment, Kugisaki perked up. "Hold on. He doesn't even know that?"
Juri looked somewhat uneasy by the question and awkwardly poked her fingers together, unsure how to explain Itadori's situation. "Well...about that. You see, Yuji only became part of this school because he swallowed a special-grade cursed object. And now here we are!" Juri tried to explain, smiling all the while to try and lessen the strangeness of how she made it sound.
Kugisaki noticeably turned pale and looked at Juri like she had just been told the most disturbing thing in the world. "What do you mean he swallowed a special-grade cursed object. Gross!" She began to back away from them while holding her arms up in an X shape. "No way! No way! No way! I can't believe it. That's so gross!"
Gojo continued despite Kugisaki's obvious disgust. "I wanna know what you guys are capable of. Think of it as a field test. Nobara. Yuji. You two will go inside and expel any Curses you see."
"But I thought only Curses can expel Curses," Itadori asked. "I don't even know any jujutsu spells."
"You're just like Kocho-sensei with being already half a Curse. You got cursed energy flowing through you," Gojo pointed out. "Controlling it though isn't as easy. So use this for now." He pulled something out that was wrapped up in white fabric.
Itadori took the cloth-wrapped object and unfolded it. It was a wide, wicked-looking blade with a short handle. Not to mention it was also quite familiar too. Something that Juri immediately recognized.
"That's a cursed tool called Slaughter Demon. It's a weapon infused with cursed energy that's made to work against Curses," Gojo explained as Juri walked up behind him and tapped his shoulder.
"Wait a moment. Isn't that Maki's," she asked.
He nodded. "It is. I thought you would recognize it. I borrowed it so Yuji can use it."
"Oh. I see, but make sure you return it when you're done."
"Yes, ma'am," he said with a relaxed smile. "And one more thing. Yuji." He called to Itadori as Kugisaki headed inside first. "Don't let Sukuna out, got it. If you use that, you'd wipe out any Curses in an instant. But...the same thing would happen to any humans in the vicinity," he warned.
Itadori didn't look to give it much thought before nodding his head and heading inside the building to catch up with Kugisaki.
"Shouldn't one of us go in?" Fushiguro asked.
"It should be fine. Besides, the one we're testing today is Nobara."
Juri perked up to the news. "Just Nobara? Why not both?"
"It's because Yuji's crazy enough up here," Gojo said while gesturing to the side of Juri's head. "Even though they're obviously different, Curses still take the form of a creature. And these are Curses that are looking to kill him. Up against that, he still doesn't hesitate to kill them. He's not familiar with Curses from a young age like Megumi. We're talking about a guy who was just your average student. There are sorcerers with great potential. But if they can't get over their fear or disgust of Curses, they can fall by the wayside. You two have already seen it, right? Today. I wanna see...how crazy she can get."
Fushiguro looked perplexed. "But she's experienced. Isn't that enough?"
"Curses are born from People's hearts. The number and strength of Curses are greater depending on an area's population. Compared to the countryside. The Curses in Tokyo are on a whole other level."
Juri looked somewhat nervous and bit down on her lips. She turned her head back to the building. She understood that this should be a walk in the park kind of job, but it still didn't stop her anxiety. She didn't like the thought of one of the kids getting hurt. "Yurei. Can you go inside and keep an eye on them? Make sure they don't get hurt. Just keep yourself hidden until all the Curses are destroyed." she asked.
The beautiful Cursed Spirit manifested before them on command and looked up at the building, already sensing one or more Curses falling from within. The kids must be already on the move. "Fine, but I believe this will be over soon," Yurei responded. She lifted her hands and clapped them together, creating a transparent white dome around them and the building. "I'll be back," she said before making a gesture with two of her fingers and disappearing from sight.
Kugisaki walked alone into a wide-open room that was mostly empty, aside from some mannequins that stood at the far end.
"Hey, you. Curse. The mannequin in the middle," she called to the still statue. "Is that your idea of hiding?" She waited for some kind of response. Movement or anything, but the mannequin didn't move and stayed where it was.
Kugisaki scoffed and pulled out what looked to be two nails held between her fingers, and a simple hammer in her other.
"No reaction? Then it's time to say goodbye."
She tossed the nails up in the air and smacked the ends of them with her hammer, sending them right into the mannequin's head and making it tumble back. This immediately caused the cursed mannequin to react and open multiple eyes on its face.
"Those nails. It's best if you take them out," Kugisaki said calmly while snapping her fingers, making the nails start to vibrate and glow. "Or else my cursed energy will flow through you."
Her energy suddenly spiked out from the nails and shattered the mannequin's heads into pieces. It swayed for a second and crumbled to the ground.
Kugisaki snickered before smiling proudly to herself. "Perfect. Completely perfe…" She wasn't able to finish her praise when it felt like the words and air were completely sucked from her lungs. A dreaded sense of coldness flushed the hot blood from her body when she turned her gaze to the side and saw a white presence manifest beside her.
"Ah. I see that it's over," Yurei's crisp voice spoke up, immediately making the room's temperature drop abruptly. She brushed past a completely stunned Kugisaki and hovered close to the dead mannequin, her face stoned with uninterest. "That was the last one-" Yurei's words got cut off by a sharp, echoing sound of iron colliding against iron. She looked back up just a nail flew across the room and stuck her right in the forehead. "AH!" she cried out and completely collapsed to the floor.
Kugisaki took a defensive stance with nails and a hammer in hand. There was no mistaking the amount of shuddering her body was doing though. The blatant fear. "What in the hell...is a special-grade Curse doing here!"
Yurei did nothing but make these short, pained gasps of air as she felt the nail sticking out of her forehead. The iron was cold, and she could even feel pulsating cursed energy rush through it. "You…you…" Yurei growled out as she began to radiate this dark and twisted-looking energy that coated her body. "What in the hell...did you just do?"
