Chapter 12
"Oi, oi, oi, what kind of cheat did you use to deal damage to my Nomu bastard," Shigaraki growled in anger "He's supposed to have a shock absorption quirk!"
"Huh, a shock absorption quirk, thanks for the information it seems that I'll have to go full ninjutsu for this fight" Izuku saw the Nomu stand up from the debris "And I also have to thank you for telling me that he isn't human anymore that means I don't have to hold back"
"Ninjutsu… are you a ninja then? Are you not supposed to only have ambush attacks and have really low HP?" Shigaraki kept scratching his neck furiously. That statement made Izuku narrow his eyes
"Is this a game for you?" Izuku snarled but before Shigaraki could answer the Nomu lunged at him. He took all of his marked kunai from his pouch and threw them in the air at random places. When the Nomu appeared in front of him Izuku was already in another place "Fire style: Flame bullets!" Izuku spat a ball of fire that exploded on the back of the Nomu who roared in rage and lunged at him, Izuku just teleported to other Kunai and repeated his action again and again sending more powerful flames every time
"Fire hurt him but his regeneration is faster than I thought" Izuku dodged another punch of the creature that created another powerful gust of wind "I won't be able to get unscathed from a hit that powerful, I can't take the risk of getting hit by it and end unconscious or broken, let's try a different approach" he made another set of seals and teleported
"Wind Style: Vacuum wave barrage" faster than before he started teleporting from kunai to kunai exhaling several blades of wind at the Nomu who could barely keep with Izuku, part of its body were severed almost with every hit and its regeneration quirk seemed to enter into overdrive with the speed it was regenerating. Izuku landed trying to catch a breath when he removed the legs of the creature
"Its regeneration didn't seem to stop and it's getting faster by the minute but I can't stop now, someone managed to escape I just have to keep making time for All Might and the pro heroes to arrive!"
Just as the Nomu finished regenerating its legs Izuku prepared his next attack, he made the seals and aimed his hands at the creature "Let's see if you can't regenerate from this "Storm Style: Laser Circus!" a barrage of light beams slammed against the Nomu who couldn't dodge the barrage of damage it was receiving, almost all the beams passed through the Nomu's body who screeched in pain and rage
Izuku was starting to get winded, even in sage mode, he didn't seem to make any lasting damage to the Nomu, he continued his attack when he noticed something, the regenerating finally was slowing down, he could see the damage of his attacks lasting more in the creature body
"I can't let it rest now!" Izuku stopped his beam attack and made a shadow clone. A Rasengan on their right hands, then he and his clone teleported at the closest kunai from the Nomu and attacked from the front and back of the beast "Double Rasengan!"
The creature screeched and delivered a backhanded punch to the Izuku on his back who exploded in smoke, the real Izuku roared and pushed the Rasengan to blast back the Nomu who finally looked like it was stopping, "All the quirks had their limits it seems that his regenerating one reaches its limit"
Behind him, Shigaraki and Kurogiri were speechless since the battle started. The kid was pulling powerful quirks out of nowhere, at least powerful enough to bring their triumph card to a deplorable state
"Kurogiri let's kill the cheater, if we let him level up he'll be a problem in the long run" Kurogiri nodded and opened a portal next to Shigaraki and another next to Izuku who was catching a breath. Before Shigaraki could put his hand on the portal it disappeared
"What the hell?!" Shigaraki turned to see Aizawa deactivating Kurogiri's quirk "Eraserhead you're really cool… it makes me mad" Shigaraki growled but suddenly an idea popped into his mind. He was grinning wickedly at Aizawa "Your student is really fast and powerful, but do you think is FAST ENOUGH TO SAVE YOU?!" Shigaraki lunged at Aizawa and Tsuyu
Izuku felt something shift in the air, and out of the corner of his eye saw Shigaraki move in the direction of Aizawa and Tsuyu, his mind entered in overdrive thinking on what to do, he saw that the Nomu was already running towards him with its first raised, and Shigaraki quickly closing the distance with his teacher and friend, it took him less than a second to decide what to do.
Izuku used the seal on Tsuyu's glove to appear in front of them a Rasengan already on his hand, he used his free hand to divert Shigaraki's left hand to the right, and he delivered a powerful attack to the villain side "Rasengan!" Shigaraki went flying and slammed against a wall getting buried deep within it, Izuku saw out the corner of his eye at the already punching beast to his right and braced himself for impact knowing that if he teleported away his teacher and friend would be at the end of that powerful hit
The hit reached him and Izuku was sent flying against some rocks that exploded at the impact.
"MIDORIYA/MIDORIYA CHAN!" Aizawa and Tsuyu screamed in terror, the creature in front of them didn't look in their direction and jumped in the direction where Izuku went. A second later Izuku appeared in front of them again with his right arm destroyed and bleeding from his head
"Midoriya are you all right?!" Aizawa asked but Izuku didn't answer he jumped behind him put his left hand on Aizawa and grabbed Tsuyu's hand with his mangled hand. Five seconds later the three of them teleported to the place he felt two of his seals were standing together
Ochako was trying with all her strength to not cry at the sight of her favorite hero, after being ripped apart by the mist villain the poor thirteen looked worse every minute, next to her was Mina and a little down the stairs where Sato, Shouji, and Sero protecting them from the villains that still stood on the bottom of the stairs
"Ochako what do we do?" she turned to see a very scared Mina
"I don't know Mina, the only thing we can do is wait for Iida to return with help" Uraraka didn't want to admit it but she was terrified, these guys came with all the intention to kill them. They were just students for god's sake!
In front of them something green flashed, they got scared for a second only to relax after looking at who appeared in front of them, only to get terrified again at the condition his friend and teacher were on
"Deku, what happened?!" Ochako tried and failed to suppress a scream, his teacher who was lying down on the floor looked at the death's door and Izuku looked really hurt, his right arm was dangling at his side
"Uraraka, Ashido status report" Ochako was stunned at the serious tone and Mina was the one to answer
"We're all right, but Thirteen sensei is badly injured" Izuku turned to look at the broken form of the space hero and frowned
"Tsuyu from my back pouch take a scroll and use it to wrap Thirteen, if what people say about her body is true, she needs to keep her body contained" Tsuyu nodded at him and moved his haori to the side and took what Izuku told her, then she jumped next to the wounded hero and with Mina's help started wrapping her
"Uraraka take care of Aizawa it looks like he finally fainted," Izuku said looking down at the broken hero "I have to go back there, the Nomu is searching for me, I put you all in danger just by being here" Ochako's eyes widened at Izuku
"DEKU you can't go back, you are hurt, is really dangerous!" Ochako started sputtering all the reasons she could think to stop him but when Izuku turned at her with his soft smile and yellow eyes she was lost for words
"Don't worry Uraraka they don't have the advantage they had over me before" Izuku inhaled hard "And with Tsuyu and Aizawa sensei here, I can use everything on my arsenal" Izuku expression hardened and disappeared
Ochako gasped when Izuku teleported away it was like his gaze stopped her breathing with its intensity, those yellow eyes were the eyes of a hero
"Wait Deku doesn't have yellow eyes"
"Midoriya chan eyes turned yellow after he asked Aizawa sensei to buy him time, he closed his eyes and that orange tint appeared around his eyes when he opened them were yellow and toad-like looking kero," Tsuyu said with a finger on his chin
"His eyes looked toad-like?" Mina asked with wide eyes, both Tsuyu and Ochako nodded at her "Sage mode" she whispered and put her hands on her mouth
"What is Sage mode, Mina?" Ochako asked concerned
"Is the most powerful... technique Izuku has, he only showed it once to me and Kiri, he said that that technique was really dangerous to use liberally and he would only use it if it was a life or death situation"
"It puts him in danger?!" Ochako was now more scared for Izuku
"No, it means that the enemy is so strong that he needs to use lethal force against them" Mina didn't say it but to Ochako and Tsuyu her face said it all, Izuku was in grave danger fighting against those villains
"What do we do?" Asked Tsuyu softly
"As much as I hate to admit it Midori asked us to stay for a reason, he… he has some techniques that are really dangerous to anybody around him" Mina closed her fist in frustration "And if he is willing to use them in sage mode… let's just say that we're about to see really incredible things" as soon as Mina said those words a Massive fireball appeared above the main plaza a second later it exploded on the ground.
"WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT?!" They heard Sero scream
"WHERE THAT GIANT FIREBALL CAME FROM?!" screamed Sato
"Was that Deku?" Ochako whispered and Mina only nodded
"It seems that Midori wants to end this fight as soon as possible"
When Izuku reappeared in the plaza he took sights of his surroundings, in Sage mode he could feel the energy of almost everyone in a big radius around him "Mineta is almost at the stairs that's good, I feel some other energies already coming here, I need to end this fight before they arrive, more people here means more targets for Nomu" He felt Shigaraki on the floor where he slammed against the wall and Kurogiri next to him, and Nomu running straight at him "He finally found me. I don't have much natural chakra left I need to end this as soon as possible!"
Nomu appeared in front of him roaring in rage, Izuku dodged to the side and threw a left hook at the beast that recoiled at the hit. "Frog Kumite works! Great" Izuku started to throw punches and kicks at the Nomu, using his enhanced perception to avoid getting hit.
He felt the Nomu getting slower and sluggish it seemed that the fight finally was having a tool on the creature "It's time to put an end to this" Izuku kicked as hard as he could sending the Nomu a dozen of meters back "Lava style: Ash stone sealing!" The molten rock surrounded the Nomu and Izuku Jumped in the air
"Fire Style: Grand Fireball!" Izuku put the rest of the natural chakra on that attack. The fireball he breathed was the biggest he has ever done, the fireball dropped like a meteor at the trapped Nomu who was screeching in rage. When the fireball touched the ground it exploded in a powerful inferno that scorched the entire main plaza
Izuku's green eyes looked at the destruction a little concerned, he knew that heroes like Endeavor could cause fire damage like that, but using those techniques would only make people do more questions about his abilities, from the corner of his eye he saw Kurogiri's portal absorbing the flames that reach them
Izuku touched the ground with a loud thud and breathing heavily, "I have a broken arm and I'm almost out of chakra please let this be the end!" he looked at the Nomu praying that it wouldn't get up, his eyes widened when he saw all the scorching on its body starting to regenerate, really slow but regenerating nonetheless
"Please don't get up!" The hair on the back of his neck stood up and instinctively he jumped back barely avoiding a bloody hand appearing from a portal
"YOU CHEATED! MY NOMU WAS CREATED TO DEFEAT ALL MIGHT THERE IS NO WAY A SIMPLE NPC LIKE YOU COULD DEFEAT IT!" Izuku gritted his teeth at the tantrum Shigaraki was throwing "I'LL KILL YOU!" Another portal appeared behind Izuku who teleported to the nearest kunai, he felt himself stumble, he was more exhausted than he thought
"STOP DODGING AT LET ME KILL YOU BASTARD!" another portal appeared in front of him. Izuku knew that if he teleported again he would lose consciousness from chakra exhaustion. suddenly an explosion sent Shigaraki and Kurogiri flying
"Don't steal my phrases you fucker!" Bakugo roared
"Midoribro, you're hurt!" Kirishima was running at him with a worried expression
"MORE AND MORE NPCS KEEP APPEARING!" Shigaraki roared before his lower half freeze
"Your lackeys said that you came here with a monster to kill All Might" Todoroki appeared walking to the plaza, he turned to see the broken form of the Nomu attempting to move in the middle of the plaza "If a simple student could defeat your monster I don't believe it could have done anything to the symbol of peace"
Suddenly the door of U.S.J. slammed open revealing a very angry looking All Might
"I was on my way here because I felt something was wrong when I found Young Iida running at top speed asking for help… I'm sorry for the delay but everything is all right now, why? Because I'm here" Izuku turned to see his Idol and finally let himself relax, his job was done
All Might dashed down the stairs and knocked down a few Villains that were on his path before putting himself in front of Izuku protecting him
"I'm sorry you got hurt Young Midoriya, I lost track of time while patrolling, please accept my deepest apologies" All Might voice sounded strained
"You're here now All Might is all that matters" Izuku could feel himself fall to the floor his exhaustion getting the best of him but Kirishima was there to put Izuku's good arm over his shoulders. Shigaraki started throwing a tantrum on the other side of the plaza
"WHATEVER IS GAME OVER, NOMU IS DONE, AND THE GREEN CHEATER BASTARD MUST HAVE BROKEN SOMETHING INSIDE ME BECAUSE I KEEP SPITTING BLOOD. GAME OVER KUROGIRI TAKE US OUT OF HERE!" The mist villain nodded and started to use his quirk
"You won't scape villains!" All Might lunged at them only to be intercepted by a very charred and broken Nomu "What is this?!"
Izuku's eyes widened, he saw the monster was regenerating and it certainly looked less damaged but its body still was completely destroyed "His purpose was to kill All Might, maybe looking at him here made his body move even if it's nowhere near fighting condition"
All Might punched the monster that was sent flying against a wall. The creature ceased his movements again, then turned to face Shigaraki and Kurogiri but they were nowhere to be seen
"Crap they escaped!" exclaimed an angry All Might
"All Might there are still a lot of villains roaming through the U.S.J. please help my classmates," Izuku said and All Might just nod before jumping into action, Izuku sighed in relief and let himself relax being held by his best friend.
Five minutes after the arrival of All Might, the rest of U.A. staff appeared and started to apprehend all the villains that roamed the massive building of U.S.J.
Izuku's eyes opened in the infirmary, whining at the lingering pain of his body, he turned to his right and saw Recovery Girl writing something on her desk. He sat on the bed trying to regain his bearings, wondering when he fell asleep. His eyes widened when everything that happened flashed through his mind
"Recovery girl, how is Aizawa sensei!?" Izuku asked concerned
"Ah sonny you startled me!" the poor nurse jumped a bit on her chair "Aizawa is fine, he has a broken arm and face but thankfully his brain had no damage, boy he does have a thick skull"
Izuku sighed in relief. His teacher was in a really dire situation when he decided to act directly
"What about you sonny, are you feeling alright?" Recovery girl walked with her cane at him checking his right arm for any problems
"Yeah I felt really good, thank you, your quirk is really a blessing Recovery girl," Said nurse just nodded after checking his arm
"Your arm seems healthy, is really late you should get home sonny" Izuku nodded and accepted the gummies the pro heroine gave him
"Thank you so much for taking care of me Recovery Girl I'll see you later… or not honestly I don't want to end in the infirmary again, but that doesn't mean I don't want to see you or talk to you I'm really a big fan!" Recovery Girl just chuckled and ushered him out of her infirmary
Izuku walked out of the school smiling at what happened today, he faced real villains and protected his friends and classmates from them, he couldn't help but grin at the feeling "I almost feel like a hero" Izuku knew he still a lot to learn and that what he did was stupid and dangerous but in his heart, he felt at peace, he was proud of his actions.
"Deku you're finally out of the infirmary!" Izuku was pulled out of his thoughts by Uraraka's voice he looked up to see all his friends waiting for him Kirishima, Ashido, Iida, and Uraraka waited for him
"Hey guys you didn't have to wait for me!" he said walking faster to reach his friends
"Of course we had to Midori you were hurt fighting a monster! Tsuyu told us everything that happened!" Mina exclaimed
"Yeah Midoribro, she even told us you had to use sage mode to fend off the villains" Kirishima looked worried at Izuku after all he knew what using sage mode meant to Izuku
"Yeah the results would have been awful if I didn't use it," Izuku said scratching the back of his head
"Deku what is that sage mode you talk about, Ashido just told us is something you would only use in a life or death situation" Izuku turned to Uraraka who looked worried
"Ah you see how I use my inner energy to fight right, well to enter in Sage mode I use the natural energy around me; it's a really dangerous and difficult technique to learn but… I learned it for cases like this one where I have to put more than my hundred percent in a fight" Uraraka seemed to want to know more about it but decided not to ask
"I still don't understand how your quirk works Midoriya," Iida said and Izuku just chuckled, he felt bad not telling them about his abilities but he knew them for less than a week. For some reason, he really wanted to tell them
"Soon but not today" Izuku's group started to walk to the station, their jokes and teasing made their travel really light.
Nezu and All Might in his skinny form were watching the videos of the U.S.J. in the principal's office. Apparently the quirk they used to disturb their communications didn't affect the recording function of the cameras. Both were surprised looking at the amazing power display of Izuku
"That young man is an amazing fighter and his quirk is really something else, I still don't understand how he manages to do all that with Energy Manipulation and I'm not even talking about that weird power-up he pulled out of nowhere!" All Might was entranced looking at the fight from Izuku and the huge arsenal of techniques he seems to have
"Still there is something that worries me, all that techniques as he calls them… it doesn't sit well with me is like looking at him throwing quirks left and right" Nezu couldn't help but chuckle at All Might worries
"Don't worry Toshinori his abilities are nowhere the same as him" Nezu learned about Izuku's chakra over the last year when he had sessions with him "Midoriya's abilities are something earned through hard work and study, please don't doubt the kid" Nezu said not taking his eyes from the video
"You seem to know about his abilities Nezu"
"Yeah but I won't tell you about them, that's Midoriya's secret to share. And while I may know about them I've never witnessed them at this level" suddenly the part where Midoriya go punched by the Nomu appeared on the video. Nezu used all his willpower to not growl. Over the past year, he grew fond of the young man
"It's him" All Might whispered out of nowhere, and Nezu finally took his eyes away from the recording "He is the one"
"Toshinori?"
"Rewind the video please!" Nezu nodded and used the panel on his chair to rewind it "There! Play it from there" The video showed Izuku slamming one of his techniques on the side of Shigaraki and then getting punched by the Nomu
"Why are you making me watch this again Toshinori? Do you like seeing your students getting hurt? Please don't make me fire you"
"What? No, no! Look at that, Young Midoriya could have avoided the hit easily, he could have teleported away but he took it because if he dodged Aizawa and Young Asui would have received it" Toshinori smiled "You can see it clear as day, the moment he saw Shigaraki move he knew that he was about to get punched by that monster! He didn't even take a second to make a decision, he saw the person about to be hurt and acted!"
Nezu rewind the video again putting more attention to Midoriya and smiled proudly at his pupil, Toshinori was right Izuku knew he was going to get hurt or worse and still received the punch for his teacher and friend
"He showed us the most important quality of a hero Nezu. The nobler quality a hero could have self-sacrifice!" Toshinori was on his feet now
"You want to make him your successor isn't it?" Nezu asked smugly
"I want to ask him about it, with his abilities, gut, and brains he'll be easily the next symbol of peace!"
"You really have no idea about anything of the kid Toshinori he won't be the next symbol of peace, he would be better," Nezu thought
"Well you can tell him tomorrow after classes then Toshinori" All Might nodded excitedly
"What would you do Midoriya" Nezu thought smiling to himself
A/N: I have to admit that action bassed chapters are really difficult, but I hope I did well with this one. One person asked about the bloodline technique Izuku used, well in my mind that technique had to come from someone whose ancestors didn't do it right? Well, at least that's what I think about that.
And about all the techniques Izuku uses Laser Circus is one of my favorites techniques and I just knew that I had to pull it out sometime, Izuku is a genius in all chakra related stuff and I would point that out later in the story so don't worry about him pulling techniques out of nowhere.
Now that doesn't mean that he would do any technique in existence, but his arsenal is really freaking big.
Hope you guys enjoy this chapter! The next ones would be more world-building (I love that concept) before we enter the tournament, I'm planning to change some things about that... and after that, I would change a lot of things but that doesn't matter right now!
