Ch. 12

I passed out the papers with few words to anyone. I got a few "strange" looks, mostly proud and/or confused on how I even came into existence.

Boy, if that ain't the question of the century--

The blonde with the electricity quirk tapped my arm gently, and I quickly pulled away. That's how we got into this situation in the first place, I didn't want to start another fight so soon.

"Please don't touch me," I said as politely as I could.

"Oh, sorry," he said with a quick chuckle and a smirk, "I'm Kaminari Denki. I was just curious if you went to bed early last night?"

I tilted my head, trying to figure out what he was playing at.

I looked at him incredulously. Oh. He probably doesn't know I'm only twelve.

I could have fun with this.

I tried to respond, but he cut me off.

"Because you look like you got your beauty sleep."

Oh. I get it now. He was flirting with me.

"Wh--"

"Wanna go out sometime? Head downtown after classes, get some coffee?"

I blinked. "You're not very bright, are you?"

With that, he went quiet, taking his paper quietly and I continued on.

The red-head shook his head. He thanked me for the paper and introduced himself.

"I'm Kirishima Ejiro! It's nice to meet you!"

"Charmed," I smiled.

The next row started with Todoroki-San. He was pretty softspoken for...who he was, in my opinion.

"Hey, uh," He said quietly, "How did you get that…" He pointed to his forehead in the same spot my eye was bruised.

I reached up to touch it, almost forgetting it was even there.

"Oh," I said, "I got into a fight. It's not that big of a deal, really."

"Huh…"

I hurried and passed out the papers as fast as I could. I reached the last row, standing next to Midoriya. "I must say, Midoriya-San, I am very impressed you were able to figure out the lie. Not many people can."

"Oh," he said nervously, "It wasn't that hard, really."

I looked at him skeptically, but finished passing out the papers, ignoring the terrible comments the purple...thing started saying as I walked by.

I walked back to my Dad who let me sit in his office chair. I pulled out my phone and started reading a book. It was a mystery and thriller, and absolved into nothingness. The class was quiet as they took their Quiz.

As I expected and suspected, Midoriya was the first to finish, but Yayaorozu-San was the first to turn it in. Midoriya-San waited for her to return to her seat before he turned in his assignment, and I wasn't quite sure how to feel about that.

Dad spoke up. "When you're done with your quiz, please sit quietly until lunchtime."

He then gave me the key, a red pen, and told me to mark the ones that they didn't get correct with a slash, and fill out their total.

"So, I really am your personal assistant now, huh? I said quietly.

He gave me a look and went back to 'sleep.'

I did as he said, the papers continuing to stack up as I kept grading, occasionally taking a sip of my tea.

It took a little while for me to grade, but I figured my dad would be looking at them behind me, so I didn't worry about it all too much. If I couldn't read someone's handwriting, I marked it as incorrect.

I was surprised to find that Kaminari-San--the one that asked me out, of course--was smarter than he looked. He still struggled, but he wasn't the worst out of the group. At least he wasn't eyeballing me with drool coming out of his mouth every time he looked in my direction, which was more than could be said for the purple kid...I couldn't even remember his name…

He's shorter than me, which is surprising, but nonetheless...

Anyway, it was kind of shocking to see so many people--when they came to give me their papers--smiling slyly at me, winking at me, waving at me, and then whispering about me. I didn't really care what they did or said, but I knew it wasn't bad. What they did in their personal lives was none of my business, even if it was talking about me behind my back.

I just don't do anything because I don't care enough to.

I was also surprised to see that Bakugo Katsuki--the winner of the Sports Festival--was one of the better scoring people. I don't typically judge a book by its cover, but he seriously gave me angry jock vibes.

Anyhow, things were mellowing out as lunch approached and the kids waited in patience for their lunchtime.

Which also surprised me.

I suppose that my dad didn't particularly care if the kids had their phones out during class or not--as long as all their work was done--so that might explain some of the silence.

RIght before the bell rang, my dad stood up. "Alright. Class dismissed."

The class let out a huge sigh, bustling around to get lunch.

Many of them were complaining. "The test was so hard. The questions were confusing. My pencil broke halfway through."

I was still grading papers when I felt a presence up above me, and a giggle.

I looked up and flinched when a very...pink and happy face protruded my personal space bubble.

"C-Can I help you?" I said, very surprised.

Her bright smile stepped away from me when I asked that. "Hi! I'm Ashido Mina! It's so cool to meet you! I never would have thought that Aizawa-Sensei would have a kid, but nonetheless, it's still pretty nice to get to know you!"

I closed my eyes. Loud…

"Ashido," my father raised his voice and she looked over at him. "Head to the lunchroom, please."

She nodded. "Yes, sir!"

She quickly flashed a wink in my direction before walking out of the room. Many other students glanced in my direction, like normal.

I finished grading papers and stacked them, dropping them edgewise on the desk to make them nice and neat and set them in my dad's outstretched hands.

"Here."

"Thank you."

He looked through them briefly, nodding at me in approval. My chest seemed to swell with pride.

"Did you bring your lunch?" He asked.

"Of course."

"Alright. Head over to the staff room. I'll be there in just a moment."

"Right."

I grabbed my bag and slung it over my shoulder, taking another sip of my tea.

I walked down the hall, avoiding people as they walked in the opposite direction of me. I got looks, whispers, double-takes, and just one catcall. I looked back, which I now regret because they started jeering.

I thought I even passed Shinsou. I couldn't tell for sure.

As I turned around from glaring at that catcall, I ran dab smack into someone's leg.

They were big--a lot taller than me (which wasn't saying much since I was the shortest person in my dad's class)--and strong. I fell back, holding my bruised eye. It got hit upon impact and was still very sensitive and was hurting.

"Oh! I didn't see you there--Hey…"

Oh, no.

I recognized that voice immediately. I dreaded looking up as I cringed.

"Samiko-Chan!"

I looked up at the towering Togata-San, the person I just ran into.

A/N: Haha, cliffhanger.

Lmao.
