Two Days Later
Despite the deaths of both Yogg Saron and Deathwing, there was a high price paid. Northrend was completely destroyed and became nothing but another maelstrom although not as strong as the one from the original Well of Eternity
The red dragonflight have resettled in Ashenvale Forest, at least as a temporary home however, many were killed when the battle started. It did not come as a surprise when Alexstrasza demanded that the Scourge be accountable for what they did. However, Malygos has said that any discussions be delayed. The Spellweaver wanted to investigate everything that happened in Northrend and double check all events leading up to its destruction. While the other aspects mourned the loss of Nozdormu, Malygos has opted to investigate first as it was a more pressing issue
Things got more complicated when Illidan was still unconscious. For this reason, Illysanna decided to take command of the Scourge seeing as she was Illidan's second in command. Drak'thul, Kel'thuzad and Agatha have tended to their master and found that his body was fine. Whatever was done to him was not an effect of his injuries and it was something that none of them knew about
What none of the Kalimdor inhabitants expected is that Illysanna was more than willing to confront them over what they did. While none of them wanted to fight each other, the Scourge still had a few tricks they could pull in the event the mortals wanted an unnecessary war
Theramore Isle
In one of the outposts outside the city, Arthas was with Uther. Many of the humans were in complete discomfort. Even if it was Uther, he was now undead, something the humans didn't exactly like. With Arthas' presence, they showed no hostility but did give him glares
"What did you want to talk about, Uther?" Arthas said as he and Uther sat down
"This city, it's very nice. It almost looks like the Capital City." Uther responded absent mindedly. "It's about you, lad." he got to the point, which confused Arthas. "I just wanted to say I am sorry about the undead. I should have believed you instead of criticizing you."
"Is this really you speaking or are you possessed or something?" Arthas asked suspiciously
Uther shook his head at this. "No, it's really me. I'm sure by now you have heard about how the Legion destroyed all of the kingdoms that once made up the Alliance." he spoke and Arthas nodded. "Many of us were raised in service to the Scourge, myself among them. However, after the Legion was defeated, the Scourge had a change of command. I thought that Illidan was like Ner'zhul, the original Lich King, who only wanted to subjugate everything to his rule but before long, we soon realized that he was not like Ner'zhul, at all."
"So, you want me to think that Illidan, and by extension, you, are genuine allies who have our interests?" Arthas asked
"No, not at all. What I wanted to talk about is I want you to be better than me, both as a Paladin and as someone people look up to." Uther replied
"What? What do you mean by that?" Arthas asked in surprise
"Now that I'm seeing things from a different perspective, I was arrogant and full of hubris. I always thought that for as long as I had faith in the Light, it would be enough for me to face anything that threatens us." Uther replied and Arthas' eyes narrowed at this. "I am not telling you to lose your faith nor do I regret training the way I did, Arthas. I'm telling you not to be like me. In my arrogance, I never believed that a drastic action such as killing a city full of innocents would be a reasonable course of action. I never even considered the possibility that such kind of evil actually exists. This is why I'm telling you to be better. Whether you maintain your faith in the Light or not is up to you but whatever choice you make, always keep a very open mind. Do not let faith blind you the way it did me. If you do, you will only end up repeating the same mistakes I did. Worse, you will end suffering the same fate or something even worse than I did."
"Uther, I-" Arthas muttered. He never expected to hear those kinds of words from the paladin with the greatest faith. "Are you not upset about what you've become?"
"I was, and to a certain extent, I still am. However, upon Illidan's becoming of the Lich King, some of us have had our souls returned to us, myself among them. What truly amazed me even more was that Illidan was not like Ner'zhul nor the Legion. He never wanted to rule nor did he want to destroy without reason but rather, he wanted to fight for this world. While I am in complete disagreement with his methods, I cannot argue with his results and I am truly grateful is the chance to speak with you again, which was the only regret I had in life." Uther said with a smile
Arthas himself smiled at this as well. Ever since their argument right before he purged Stratholme, his relationship with his mentor has become very strained and to make it worse, neither of them had any intention of apologizing to each other. The prince did not even pay that much heed as he was still far too prideful to admit that he was wrong to an extent. While he still believed he was right to destroy the city, he knew that he shouldn't have yelled at Uther like that. It was only now that he realized that he too wanted to make peace with his mistake. "Thank you, Uther. But it's still an issue about our people being risked by your actions."
"I understand, lad. You just have to hope for the best." Uther replied, under orders not to reveal Illidan's current state for now
Inside the city, Sylvanas was walking with Anya in the streets of Theramore. The dark ranger had chosen clothes that would cover her entire body along with a hood to hide her face. Much to Anya's chagrin, the living ranger wanted to bring her inside the city. The two of them were close friends during their time in Quel'thalas and Anya had a sneaking suspicion that Sylvanas wanted to appeal to any trace of elven she still had
Thw two stopped at a shop that wasn't severely damaged during the abnormal weather. "Good morning. What can I get you today, Ranger General?" the shopkeeper lady asked politely
"Good morning. I'd like some of those meat and..." Sylvanas trailed off and looked her companion
"Uh, I'll pass." Anya replied with a slight hint of shame
The shopkeeper noticed something before looking around and saw that the shop was empty. "There is no need for you to hide. I can tell that you're undead."
Both Sylvanas and Anya looked at the shopkeeper in complete surprise that she figured it out. The ranger general quickly looked around and was thankful that the shopkeeper had the sense not to reveal what her companion was to the rest of the city
Anya decided to remove her hood and confirmed that she was in fact, undead. "How come you are not disgusted with me?" she asked suspiciously
"Because I trust Lady Sylvanas. If she has brought an undead with her, then she must have a very good reason to do so. Lady Sylvanas is not known to trust people easily so I believe that you must have earned it for her to bring you along." the shopkeeper answered
"She's right. Even before everything happened, getting your trust was never easy." Anya said with a smirk while Sylvanas merely rolled her eyes
"So, what about you?" the shopkeeper asked the dark ranger
"I'll pass. I'm undead so I don't really need to eat anything." Anya replied
"Come on, Anya. At least get something for yourself." Sylvanas sighed
"How about this drink then?" the shopkeeper suggested while picking a bottle from the shelf
"Fine, whatever." Anya replied
"Excuse me, is there a room where we could speak in private here?" Sylvanas asked
The shopkeeper merely stared at the ranger general in confusion, not wanting to believe that she would be willing to have a private chat with an undead nonetheless. Sighing, she relented. She did say she trusted Sylvanas. "Up the stairs and second room on the right. It's the most isolated place on the shop."
"Thank you very much." Sylvanas and led the way up
"I'm surprised that you would agree to talk with me in the city, Ranger General." Anya said when they locked the room
"Please, just call me Sylvanas. You've known me for a long time so there is no need for formalities." the living elf said as the two of them sat down. "So, Anya, listen. I-" she began to speak
"There's no need for that, Sylvanas." Anya cut her off. "I don't hold it against you. None of us do."
"How do you even know what I would say?" Sylvanas asked curiously
"Come on, Sylvanas, you said it yourself. We've known each other for years and not just as subordinate and superior but also as friends. I can pretty much tell what you want to say given the circumstances and I can tell that it has been weighing in on your mind about how you survived but a lot of us didn't." Anya responded as a matter of factly
The ranger general was surprised at this as that was exactly how she remembered Anya was. "I thought you would have changed after becoming undead but I see you're still yourself." Sylvanas said with a smile
"You should have seen us when the Scourge was still under the Legion's control. You'd probably think we are the monsters you thought us to be." Anya replied back with a hint of shame
"Why are you not upset? When Nathanos made it back, I would have thought that those who didn't survive would hold some kind of grudge for us." Sylvanas pointed out
"We were but only during our time as the Legion's slaves. We hated what they did to us and we wanted nothing more than for us to be granted the death we were deprived of." Anya said to which Sylvanas listened with a heavy heart. "All of that changed when Illidan came. I'm not gonna lie. At first, I thought that he was no better than the other demons however, that perspective somewhat changed when I heard that he allowed Nathanos to get out unharmed. Maybe I was clinging on to the hope that he would finally kill me but he didn't and now, I'm glad. Some time after Nathanos was sent on his way, Illidan revealed his grand scheme, to rid our world of a great evil, one that was even worse than the Burning Legion."
"And you believed him?" Sylvanas asked curiously
"Of course I didn't." Anya scoffed as if offended. "It's hard enough to believe that something as corrupt as the Legion exists but he showed us what he found in Northrend, which were the creatures we fought two days ago. Because of that, in recent months, I've stopped seeing my state as a curse and begun seeing it as an opportunity." she said and the general listened intently. "To fight for our world again. Given how we High Elves thought that we were superior to the Humans and our victory over the Horde, I would not have hesitated to think we will be able to handle both Deathwing and the Old Gods with the entire Alliance reunited and a little help from the Dragon Aspects. In the end, I'm rather disappointed in ourselves rather. We were delusional that the Legion's defeat was guaranteed and when they were, everything would simply go back to normal. In a sense, being undead gave me a new perspective and more importantly, humbled me. I truly am surprised that Illidan is not the kind of person who wants to be on top of everything. He just wants to fight for this world but in his own way."
"Do you agree with him?" Sylvanas asked after a while of taking in what her friend said
"With his goals, definitely. If the Legion did not come, it would have eventually become our goal anyway but with his methods, I'm not exactly sure. Illidan knows a lot about our world that I don't, that many of us don't. I'm just glad that he's not what my first impressions were and the fact that he doesn't want to fight you guys." Anya responded before looking away
"As am I." Sylvanas said and surprised. "In a sense, I too have been humbled. I never would have believed that the Old Gods actually existed if I didn't see what we witnessed myself. I guess what we can learn from this whole thing is that we should probably stop judging people based on who they are or what they've done but rather, what they intend to do. That being said, I'm very glad that you guys found it in your heart to forgive me."
"You have a good point there. In fact, that was probably the reason why Illidan chose not to ask for anyone but Malygos' help. Well, part of the reason anyway." Anya took note. "At any rate, it wasn't exactly your fault what happened to us. You were needed here more as most of our people did come with you and now that I think of it, it was selfish of us to have hated you for surviving. I'm sorry if we gave off that impression, Sylvanas."
"Thank you, Anya. Since I heard from Nathanos what happened, it's been very hard to concentrate on doing my job while thinking about the time I would inevitably meet the rangers that were turned into undead again." Sylvanas said
Anya then grew a smirk on her face much to Sylvanas' confusion. "So, when you planning to have kids with Nathanos?" she teased
"What?!" Sylvanas asked in shock with a slight blush
"Calm down, I'm just teasing. We haven't had any girl time since forever. It's nice to be able to enjoy things every once in a while." Anya said, raising her hands
Sylvanas grumbled at this. "I'm never gonna understand why everyone thinks I am with Nathanos." she said before getting up
"To be fair, it is strange for you to favor someone not of your own race and to give him such a high rank." Anya pointed out right before the general grabbed some glasses. "Seriously? You wanna have a drink a few hours before a major meeting?"
This time, it was Sylvanas' turn to smirk. "It's just as you said, it is nice to just enjoy things once in a while." she responded
"If you get drunk before the meeting, don't expect me to cover for you." Anya sneered, knowing that undead don't get drunk
Stonetalon Peak
Later that day, right outside Stonetalon peak, all Alliance, Horde, night elf, the dragon aspects, a couple bronze dragons and Scourge high command had gathered. Malygos had finally finished his investigations in Northrend. The Scourge was not willing to meet directly in one of the mortal's territories so they agreed they meet on neutral grounds
"Is that really you, Illysanna?" Tyrande gasped when she saw the demon hunter who was the last to arrive
"And where is, Illidan?" Malfurion asked when his brother was nowhere to be seen
"Unconscious." Illysanna replied much to the rest of the Scourge's surprise. "If they know then the better for us. If they try to take advantage that Illidan is incapacitated, then that simply proves where they stand." she said with a smirk and the rest of the Scourge got the message as they all knew they still had an advantage in their captured Legion gunships and their necropolises
"Do you truly think us so shallow?" Tyrande asked sadly
"As if you've ever given me a reason to think otherwise." Illysanna replied coldly. The high priestess wore a disappointed look although the demon hunter did not know what she was so disappointed in
"If we could move on to some more important business..." Kel'thuzad spoke and looked at Malygos. "What did you find?"
"We were fortunate, very fortunate. If we had given Deathwing more time, he would have grown powerful enough to the point where our only option would be the Dragon Soul or something similar. The Eye of Sargeras wouldn't have been sufficient if we had fought Deathwing at a later date." Malygos replied and everyone gasped in surprise at what they heard. "Apparently, recent events have slowly broken the Old Gods' prison which allowed them to fill Deathwing's body with more power. I found that the reason for his scales being as tough as it was is because they weren't natural scales. It was some sort of metal to contain all the power he got."
"That would have proven to be a problem. The Dragon Soul is destroyed, right?" Rhonin asked
"It is, which is why I said we were fortunate." Malygos answered before looking at the other dragons. "Had we been much later, Deathwing would have overpowered and destroyed us all and I am not confident if even Nozdormu would be able to bend the rules of time for us to retrieve the Dragon Soul from the past without causing serious consequences."
"That's not even considering if we would even have the chance to go back to the past and retrieve it. For once, Illidan's actions makes sense." Alleria commented. Even she was impressed
"Why exactly did you have to destroy all of Northrend in the first place?" Thrall asked, wanting the full story
Illysanna looked at Kel'thuzad and Drak'thul and they both understood. No lies, no secrets. Only the truth but none of the details. "Before all of this began, Illidan found myself and Illysanna stranded in a chain of islands in between here and the Eastern Kingdoms. We stayed there for a few days to ambush his pursuers. During that time, Illidan has mentioned the possibility that this world had something that was far worse than even the Burning Legion." the orc warlock began
"After Lord Illidan became the Lich King, he had given us his grand plan, to scour this world if his suspicions were true and if it were, destroy them. Once we had sufficient defenses, Lord Illidan and Maiev Shadowsong travelled to Ulduar and found Yogg Saron along with the creatures we fought in Northrend, the Faceless Ones." Kel'thuzad continued the explanation
"In Ulduar, Illidan began to suspect that Yogg Saron could have been responsible for Neltharion's madness. Unlike everyone else, he didn't believe that someone like Neltharion could have been driven insane without a proper motivation or an outside source." Maiev said and looked at Agatha
"Around the time during the war in Outland, we had no real confirmation that Neltharion was enslaved by the Old Gods. Our first real clue was found in the Northrend." Agatha continued and looked at Malfurion. "One of your people planted a World Tree that Yogg Saron was able to corrupt and creatures that live near that tree were driven insane. While that in of itself won't be worth much, it is the fact that like Neltharion, the creatures that were driven insane were benevolent. That, combined with what was seen in Ulduar, provided strong evidence that whatever happened to them was not natural. As a precation, we reanimated a few of those creatures and pried their minds. We found that they have heard whispers of some sort."
Malfurion and Tyrande were surprised when they heard that a night elf planted a world tree elsewhere. The other mortals listened intently as they did not know the significance of another world tree
"A few weeks before all this, the tear Kel'thuzad created for the Legion was reopened and two Draenei arrived so we had to delay our plans. I'm sure I don't have to explain why." Illysanna finished the story
"So, you chose to go after Deathwing even though it was not guaranteed he was with the Old Gods?" Arthas asked curiously
"It really didn't matter in the end. I know Illidan and I know for a fact that he wanted Deathwing gone regardless if he was with the Old Gods or not. Although we probably would have fought him later if we were on our own, we had to take him down as soon as possible as that was the deal with Malygos." Illysanna answered
Ysera was the most concerned one out of everyone present. While the others focused more on the plan and Deathwing, her attention was perked in one part. "Hold on, did you say that a World Tree was corrupted? Does that mean...?" she hoped what she was thinking wasn't true
"Unfortunately, we have discovered that at least once, the corrupted World Tree has been used as a gateway into the Emerald Dream. We were never able to figure out how to reopen it but that possibility was confirmed. I would not rule out the possibility that the Old Gods have some influence in the Dream at this point given that the Tree was corrupted four thousand years ago." Olrun answered, much to the Night Elves and Ysera's horror
"And you did not tell me, why?!" Ysera demanded to know
"For one thing, the Emerald Dream is your responsibility, not ours. Our goal is not and never will be to cleanse the world of the Old Gods' influence. What we're after is to ensure that our world does not become enslaved no matter the cost." Kor'vas responded while placing heavy emphasis on the last four words. "Besides, if we assume that part of the Emerald Dream is corrupted, it happened under your watch so what the hell have you been doing?"
"Just because it is my watch does not mean that outsiders are not allowed to help." Ysera fired back
"If said outsiders actually have any interest in helping you." Kor'vas countered quickly
"That's enough, Ysera." Alexstrasza said and raised both her hands pointed at the two people arguing. "We'll just have to check it out for ourselves as it is clear that only our enemies are the same but not the way we deal with them. I would like to ask why you withheld that information?"
"Because it could have delayed our plans. Illidan did not want to delay hunting down Deathwing longer than necessary and, as we have just mentioned, that technically isn't our concern." Drak'thul answered
"And you allowed this, Malygos?" Malfurion asked curiously as even he did not believe that the blue dragon aspect had fallen that much
"My deal with Illidan was in exchange for hunting down Deathwing, I would ensure that the spell we used would not cause a cataclysm." Malygos answered but it wasn't what the druid was looking for. "I was the one that actually suggested to withhold this information, partly because I wanted to destroy Deathwing as soon as possible, and partly because we could not afford any interference when fighting him. If anyone had managed to interrupt that spell, it would be a completely different story by now." and as expected, Ysera sent him a quick glare along with Alexstrasza
"You actually are more willing to trust Illidan than us? And you were willing to let him do as he see fit?" Alexstrasza asked in disappointment
"In all honesty, yes, I was but that was only after I found out he had no intention of double crossing me." Malygos responded bluntly and without hesitation. The other two aspects quickly realized just how damaged the blue dragon was after his flight was nearly wiped out
"Um, I'm sorry to ask this, but what exactly is the relevance of the Emerald Dream?" Arthas asked the questions that all Alliance and Horde members had
"That, young price, is a very long story. I would need to bring you up to speed after this meeting but to put it in short, the Emerald Dream is what our world would be had it not been influenced by sentient creatures." Ysera answered
"I understand. If we could move on from this topic, who or what exactly was able to inflict such injury that Illidan was knocked unconscious for two days?" Kael responded for his fellow prince. Everyone looked to Malygos
"There was nothing to provide a solid evidence with the exception of some magic trails. The only clue was how potent it was which leads me to suspect that those trails belonged to Queen Azshara." Malygos answered and everyone who was familiar with the highborne queen widened their eyes in surprise
"I suppose this is another topic you'll have to bring us up to speed." Sylvanas pondered at the reactions of the older individuals and Alexstrasza merely nodded at her. She had remembered Illidan mentioning that name before but the night elves didn't bother to mention the details about who Azshara really was. The ranger then looked at Kel'thuzad. "How is Illidan anyway?"
Before responding, Kel'thuzad looked at Illysanna as if asking for permission and the demon hunter also nodded which the lich took it as a sign that it was fine. "His body has been completely healed. However, we have no clue on what exactly Azshara did." he responded
A dead silence soon took over them as nobody had any idea what to say to that. The possibility that Azshara is still alive provided a logical explanation as to why Illidan was unconscious. No one knows what tricks Azshara had up her sleeve
"is that everything that we need to talk about?" Illysanna asked and broke the silence. Agatha then spoke directly to the minds of the Scourge members. A few wanted to keep the topic to themselves but Illysanna, Kor'vas and Kel'thuzad told the Val'kyr leader to let the others know
"There is one more thing that I found out just earlier." Agatha spoke. "The fog at the southern part of the ocean has lifted and revealed another continent. This continent was too far out at sea so it is a place that we know next to nothing yet. It warrants immediate investigation." she said
"I guess we'll have to delay hunting down the other Old Gods then." Kor'vas muttered, feigning not knowing about it
"If it is alright, I would like the Horde to investigate this new continent." Thrall suggested and surprised everyone. "As much as I disagree with how the Scourge handles things, I can understand why you do it in the first place."
"So, you're goal is to hope to find an alternative way that doesn't involve as much blood or destruction." Kor'vas said
"Exactly. Azeroth is our home now as well and we have a duty to fight for her safety." Thrall answered
"I agree with the Warchief completely. We must do what we can to stand against these Old Gods." Velen said before looking at Thrall
"They do make a good point. Would that be alright with you?" Jaina asked
Illysanna merely frowned at this. She wondered what Illidan would have done before she realized that this meeting wouldn't even be happening if it was up to him. However, an equally clever plan occured to her. "If I do agree to leave the investigation to you, we will keep a close eye on you and end up like Deathwing, we will kill you without hesitation."
"You seem to imply that you don't trust us." Thrall said
"No, I am saying that I don't trust you." Illysanna clarified very bluntly
"I suppose that is fair. Given how no one even considered the idea of hunting down Deathwing or finding out what our world holds, her response is not completely unreasonable." Cairne said in thought, not taking any offense. "But I assume that when it comes to it, you'll also destroy that continent."
"Yes, we would." Illysanna confirmed
"At least that's better than nothing." Arthas said with a sigh
What the Scourge found surprising is that no one asked about the locations of the other Old Gods. It was really naive to just assume that the only information they had was on Yogg Saron
"If that is everything, I believe that we have a lot of things to prepare for." Alexstrasza sighed eventually
"Of course. I shall leave a few of our forces to inform you of the new continent's location." Illysanna responded and soon, everyone went their separate ways. Before they left, Ysera motioned for Malygos to talk with her
"You knew they would react like that, didn't you?" Kor'vas asked when she was alone with Illysanna, finding her friend's recent actions to be amusing
"Well, at least one of them anyway. I just took the hint on what Illidan did. He knew that no one here was prepared for a war and that they wouldn't prepare for one until something actually happens." Illysanna answered. "I did find it strange at how easy it took to convince them to work with us."
"Sylvanas, Arthas and the Dragons witnessing what we were facing probably helped their case and there is also the fact that ever since Illidan took control of the Scourge, we have been preparing for a war. They probably realize that we have the advantage in resources so by agreeing to work with us, they've bought themselves some time." Kor'vas pointed out
"That's true. Now that I think about it, maybe they are being genuine about not wanting the Old Gods to win." Illysanna muttered thoughtfully
"Like anyone in their right mind would want the Old Gods to win." Kor'vas responded and Illysanna merely tilted her head. "Okay, I guess Azshara wants them to win for some reason."
"Better." Illysanna said
"I'm more interested in why you agreed to meet them in the first place. It makes me wonder if Illidan would do the same or if it was beneficial for us." Kor'vas said
"Please. Illidan wouldn't even bother to agree to it. I've never known him to ever justify his actions and I doubt he ever will." Illysanna said thoughtfully and suddenly felt that Kor'vas was smirking at her. "What?" she asked with a raised eyebrow
"Nothing. I'm just glad you did something he wouldn't do." Kor'vas said and Illysanna frowned. "Relax, I'm not suspicious of you or anything. I just think it's a good thing to take this one in a different direction and I have a very good idea on why you agreed to let the mortals in on this one. There is no way they would just sit idly after what had happened and especially after what Arthas and Sylvanas had witnessed."
"True enough. Sooner or later, they would find out about that place and that would only cause some unnecessary chaos." Illysanna said. "I'm just glad you agree with me."
"You would have done the same if I was in your position. Besides, I'm not the only one who has noticed that you see Illidan as a father figure." Kor'vas pointed out
Realizing that she had just been caught, Illysanna merely smiled at her friend. "I just hope he wakes up soon. I don't think I'm ready to take on the leader role and I'm not as good at managing my emotions as he is." she said before they got on a sky barge
XXXXXX
Illidan woke up and found himself in an unknown place. He was in a room but unlike his own chambers right below the peak at his fortress in Silvermoon, it was big and well decorated. The room was the least of his worries as he could not feel his wings nor his horns. He didn't even have his spectral sight anymore and he knows for a fact that he didn't shift back to regular vision for months
'Where am I?'
Just an aftermath chapter. Part of it was mostly focused to giving Arthas and Sylvanas some sort of closure. I did say that they would have a part to play but I'll just say it again, don't expect that they would survive to the very end. I'm still planning the further parts of the story that concerns them but I'm not sure if I wanna let them live or not
I also put Uther and Anya in the same position as most WoW players are in. We can agree and understand on what Illidan's goals are but at the same time, many just cannot agree with how he is pursuing it and the fact that Illidan is not that great at communication. While I have changed much of Illidan's character, I kept that part because for me, that is what makes him so iconic
For the sake of context, the next few chapters will be divided into two parts. The first one being the regular story which picks up after the events of this one, and the other will be what is going on with Illidan. I will not give any clues as to what is going on with Illidan but the two parts will be divided by a few uppercase of the letter X. Just a reminder, which will be relevant in the next few chapters, any italicized text will be anything that isn't in the same time period. Whether they will be full blown flashbacks or just one liners would depend on the immediate context. Also, for the sake of simplicity, what is going on with Illidan will only be at the beginning or at the end parts of the chapter. It is up to you to think just exactly what is going on. What is going on with the rest of the world and what is going on with Illidan will not be concurrent
Also, a small focus of the coming chapters will be Illysanna, mainly about her differences with Illidan. All of the Scourge members are written to have analytical minds, the only difference is how fast they can analyze things would differ from one to the other. The same would go for Illysanna and mainly about how she reacts and plans to certain events
Finally, yes. That new continent is Pandaria. Just like with the Naga, it will not be referred to as such until the characters are informed. I will admit, the MoP stuff is a bit confusing for me as I was never really that big of a fan of Alliance-Horde wars so if you think that the recent chapters have a lot wrong, I am gonna butcher a lot of stuff in Pandaria. Regardless, I wanna put in some ground rules for it
- the mogu are extinct
- the Zandalari trolls are not in this story. I never even heard about these kinds of Trolls until BfA
- the wall in Pandaria is still there. Other stuff such as the Mantid will also be there
That's it. Just three ground rules. I'm not gonna lie, I'm not particularly that proud of the few drafts I have made on the Pandaria part because as I said, I'm not that familiar with the MoP
