PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE BEGINNING!

AN: This probably wasn't too well written, but please bear with me until the end, which actually will be within another chapter or two, maybe three if my planning goes awry.

Review, but if you don't have anything nice to say, then don't say anything at all!

-The Ninth Child-

xX-Belief is Power-Xx

"Hey, guys!" Davis shouted, when he saw the rest of the DigiDestined appear back in the strange dimension they'd found themselves in earlier with their Digimon partners. "Hey, who're those guys?" he saw the kids that his friends had appeared with and wondered if what happened to him happened to them. "Let me guess, they called themselves De-DigiDestined and tried beating you guys?"

"How'd ya know?" Kari asked. "Oh, I see," she saw the girl of thirteen lying on the ground beside Davis.

"But who are they?" Ken asked.

"They said they were De-DigiDestined," T.K said, "I don't remember a lot, but I know Gennai said something about them four years ago, back when Myotismon appeared in our world and caused all that trouble."

"Looks like your little plan didn't work!" Yolei grinned at MaloMyotismon. "We're back and we're ready to fight!"

"Go Raidramon!" Davis called out. 'I wish Raidramon was stronger!'

Suddenly, to everyone's surprise, Raidramon glowed a bright blue before two more entities also glowing blue separated from him. When the glow died away, there stood Flamedramon, Raidramon and ExVeemon all together.

"Flame Fist!"

"Vee-Laser!"

"Blue Thunder!"

"Whoa, they 're actually doing damage this time!" Ken's eyes widened when MaloMyotismon was knocked back by the trio of attacks.

"What just happened?" Cody asked, eyes wide. "Davis what did you do to make all of ExVeemon's forms appear?"

"I didn't really do anything," the maroon-haired boy looked just as confused, but his confusion was outweighed by his excitement, "I just wish for him to get stronger and this just happened!"

"Wishing…" T.K muttered. "I wonder…" he clasped his hands around his D3 and closed his eyes, praying. 'I don't want the powers of darkness to hurt any of my friends!' A bright green glow shot out of his D3 and enveloped Patamon.

"Patamon Armour-Digivolve to: Pegasusmon, the Soaring Hope!"

"Angemon Digivolve to: MagnaAngemon!"

"Patamon Digivolve to: Angemon!"

"What?!" MaloMyotismon shouted. "What sorcery is this?!"

"Hand of Fate!"

"Star Shower!"

The dual attack combo threw the robot-like Digimon back a few paces as it did with ExVeemon, Raidramon, and Falmedramon's combination of attacks.

"You ready for some action, Hawkmon?" the lavender-haired DigiDestined asked.

"Indubitably," Hawkmon answered.

'We are strong! We are strong! We are strong!' Yolei chanted over in her head, hands clasped around her D3. A red light shot out of her own D3 and enveloped Hawkmon.

"Hawkmon Armour-Digivolve to: Shurimon, the Samurai of Sincereity!"

"Hawkmon Digivolve to: Aquilamon!"

"Hawkmon Armour-Digivolve to: Halsemon, the Wings of Love!"

"Blast Rings!"

"Tempest Wing!"

"Double Star!"

Just as the combined attacks before them, these did a right amount of damage to the Mega Digimon as well.

"Ready to join the party, Armadillomon?" Cody asked.

"Whenever you are, Cody" Armadillomon nodded.

'I want MaloMyotismon to be stopped before he can hurt anymore Digimon,' Cody thought, clenching his hands around his D3. A yellow light erupted from the device and enveloped Armadillomon.

"Armadillomon Armour-Digivolve to: Digmon, the Drill of Knowledge!"

"Armadillomon Digivolve to: Ankylomon!"

"Armadillomon Armour-Digivolve to: Submarimon, the Reliable Guardian of the Seas!"

"Gold Rush!"

"Oxygen Torpedo!"

"Tail Hammer!"

The trio of attacks sent MaloMyotismon flying with a roar of pain and frustration.

"Your turn, Gatomon," Kari spoke.

"It would be my pleasure!" the feline Digimon nodded in determination.

'The future of both worlds depends on us and MaloMyotismon must be stopped!' Kari thought as she clasped her hands around her D3. A pink light shot out and enveloped Gatomon.

"Gatomon Armour-Digivolve to: Nefertimon, the Angel of Light!"

"Gatomon Digivolve to: Angewomon!"

"Rosetta Stone!"

"Celestial Arrow!"

The two attacks were fired in quick succession of each other, pushing MaloMyotismon another few feet back, doing a little more damage as well.

"You ready, pal?" Ken asked, D3 in hand.

"Let's do it!" Wormmon said confidently.

"Wormmon Digivolve to: Stingmon!"

"Spiking Strike!" Stingmon jabbed MaloMyotismon swiftly through his abdomen, causing the Mega Digimon to roar in pain and fall to one knee.

"So you've learned how to tap into this dimension's power," MaloMyotismon said weakly. "But if you thought that your DigiRats would be enough to defeat me, then you were sorely mistaken!" He stood up with a little more effort than one would normally need had they not been injured. "Crimson Mist!"

"Digivolve!" T.K, Kari, Davis, Yolei, Ken, and Cody shouted.

"Ankylomon…" "Angemon…"

"ExVeemon…" "Stingmon…"

"Gatomon…" "Aquilamon…"

"DNA Digivolve to…"

"Shakkoumon!"

"Paildramon!"

"Silphymon!"

"Go get him Shakkoumon!" T.K and Cody called out.

The metallic Digimon stood in the way of MaloMyotismon's CrimsonMist attack, unaffected much to the robot-like Digimon's surprise. "What?" He roared.

"Static Force!"

"Desperado Blaster!"

The two combined attacks of the Ultimate Digimon brought MaloMyotismon to his knees once more, crying out in pain.

"We've got him down so let's finish this!" Davis shouted.

"Paildramon Mega-Digivolve to: Imperialdramon!"

"It's over, MaloMyotismon!" Ken agreed, stepping beside Davis.

"Imperialdramon Mode Change to: Imperialdramon Fighter Mode!"

Kagome stared at Kudamon's new braces around his paws and felt a jolt through her heart. She closed her eyes. 'What is this? A new song?' She clasped her hands around her D3 and began to sing.

"Kudamon Digivolve to: Reppamon!"

"Reppamon Digivolve to: Chirinmon!"

"Kudmaon Armour-Digivolve to: Sorcermon, the Mage of Compassion!"

"Kudamon Warp-Digivolve to: Kentaurosmon!"

"Um, you guys just saw that, right?" T.K asked weakly.

"If you're talking about Kudamon going Mega," Davis faintly, "then yeah, we saw it…"

The~Ninth~Child

Kentaurosmon was a large six-legged centaur with red armour that had blue accents. The torso part of his armour had a large horse's head on it while a white cloth with blue designs hung down his front, and a pair of what looked like spiky golden wings erupted from his back.

His mane was a thick spiky mixture of reds and blues, while his tail was a pure light-blue. On his left arm was a large copper crossbow, already loaded with a silver arrow while his right arm wielded a shield of blue-silver.

The~Ninth~Child

"Sky Fissure!"

"Heaven's Gale!"

"Crystal Barrage!"

"Frost Inferno!"

"Positron Laser!"

The combination of the five attacks, six of you counted the fact that Imperialdramon and Imperialdramon Fighter Mode were two different entities using the same attack, sent MaloMyotismon flying back quickly, creating a cloud of smoke from impact.

However, that wasn't what had shocked the DigiDestined the most. What surprised them was how suddenly, there was a hole in what seemed to be the wall of this dimension. The little gateway lead out into a barren, darkened area filled with mountains.

"What the heck just happened?!" Davis asked running out with the others through the hole in the wall. "He went flying right through here?! Did any of you know there was a wall?!"

"For that matter, where are we?" Yolei asked, looking a little shocked at her sudden wardrobe change.

"I think we're all somehow back in the Digital World," Cody observed.

'Except my clothes didn't change,' Kagome thought, looking down at her attire which hadn't morphed into her usual Digital World outfit. She looked up and saw with some surprise, that all the Digimon, but Shakkoumon, Silphymon, Imperialdramon Fighter Mode, and Kentaurosmon had disappeared when they came through to the Digital World.

"All the other Digimon disappeared, too," T.K pointed out, "Everything's back to normal, then, I guess. At least, if you can even call any of this normal…"

"Not quiet," Kagome spoke up, "MaloMyotismon isn't gone just yet."

"How d'you know?" Davis asked.

"Because if he had, then I wouldn't be feeling his aura nearby," the raven-haired teen answered.

As if on cue, a loud maniacal laugh filled the canyon they arrived at. "Children! Were you looking for me?" MaloMyotismon walked around a corner of the canyon into the DigiDestined's view. "Thank you so very much for sending me into the Digital World, where I am most powerful! You foolish Children played right into my hands!"

"No way!" Ken gritted his teeth. "How could he survive all those attacks and still survive?!"

MaloMyotismon only continued laughing as dark particles twisted around and into him, making his figure grow larger and larger until he was about six times his original size. "He's getting bigger!" Ken shouted.

Kari suddenly cried out, gripping her head. "The darkness is coming! It's getting stronger!"

The rest of the DigiDestined looked over to Kagome to see her reaction. The raven-haired teen's eyes were wide and her figure ramrod straight, and her hair seemed to be rising on its own, little by little.

"I say we do this now or never" Imperialdramon Fighter Mode flew off towards the new MaloMyotismon followed by Shakkoumon, Silphymon, and Kentaurosmon.

"Watch and learn you foolish imbeciles!" MaloMyotismon's spaulders opened up as dark energy gathered into a ball within each open spaulder and letting them fly off harmlessly.

Unfortunately, the balls of energy were anything but harmless, as the DigiDestined and their partners soon found out. When each ball of dark energy came into contact with each Digimon, they all cried out in pain before collapsing to the ground in unmoving heaps.

"Oops!" MaloMyotismon said in a mocking tone. "I think I broke your friends! It's a shame you won't be conscious to witness my most triumphant moment!" He raised his arms and shot dark energy straight up into the sky. "Behold my power!"

"What's he shooting up in the sky?" Yolei asked, confusedly, but also worried about the outcome of such an attack.

"Look up and you'll see just what it is he's aiming for," Kagome said quietly, body still tense.

The DigiDestined looked up as suggested and gasped when they saw the earth up in the sky, slowly being enveloped in the darkness that was MaloMyotismon's power.

"He's ripped a hole in the sky!" Cody gasped.

"And it looks like it leads right into the real world!" Yolei observed worriedly. "His power is slowly covering the entire planet!"

"That's been his goal all along!" Ken realized. "He's been after both worlds this entire time!"

"It's so very fascinating how you can be so slow for a genius," MaloMyotismon spoke, "Did you think I would be satisfied with the Digital World alone? No, with both worlds under my dark power, I will rules over both humans and Digimon alike! Then there would be no one that could stop me!"

"Don't be so sure!" Davis called out. "As long as we're here, we'll never let you get away this this!"

"We will never let that happen!" Imperialdramon Fighter Mode stood up.

"And why not?" MaloMyotismon asked mockingly.

"Because we're going to stop you," Shakkoumon answered.

"Once and for all!" Silphymon added.

"You should always remember," Kentaurosmon spoke, "That no matter how strong the darkness may be, there will always be light shining out from within, no matter how bright or how dim it may be!"

"Fools!" MaloMyotismon roared. "Do you really think you could defeat me?! Your pitiful light is no match for my absolute darkness! Even now it consumes the world as we speak!"

"Not for long!" Ken retorted. "Go Imperialdramon!"

"Positron Laser!"

"Front Inferno!"

"Screaming Darkness!"

When the two attacks collided, it created a large aqua light, sending the DigiDestined flying back while MaloMyotismon stayed unmoved and unharmed.

The~Ninth~Child

"They're losing," a young boy said as he and the rest of the group of children watched the Digidestined try and fight MaloMyotismon to no avail.

"And it's all our fault…" another girl sniffled.

"ACK!" came a groan. "What in the seven heavens just happened to me?!"

"You? I want to know why I'm even here!"

The children looked back to see nine children with Digimon slowly waking up. "Um, are you guys DigiDestined?" another boy asked one of the nine children.

"Uh, say what?" Diasuke Tanaka blinked.

"I don't think we know what you're talking about," Hina Ueda spoke slowly, "And speaking of, where the heck are we? And why are you all here, too? Aren't your parents worried?"

"We're all in the Digital World," a girl answered from the group of children, "And we think you're DigiDestined. You have Digimon with you right there, see?"

The nine children looked down at the Digimon beside them and simultaneously, it seemed as thought something clicked inside them.

"Wait a minute," Shun Yamada spoke, "Didn't we go through pretty much the same thing four years ago?"

"Yeah," Aiden agreed, "But last time, we didn't wake up in some weird other world."

"Hey, what are those kids doing out there?" Mayu Minami, bearer of the Crest of Aggression asked, looking out into the Digital World, seeing the DigiDestined fight against MaloMyotismon, only to fail with each attack.

"They're fighting that evil Digimon that want to take over this world and ours," a young girl answered.

"I don't see why, though," a boy shook his head, "It's hopeless, he's just too strong! Even for the DigiDestined and their Digimon!"

"Pessimistic much?" Eileen Miyamoto raised an eyebrow at Riku Hayashi, getting a little nod in return."

"No he's not!" they heard Davis shout. The De-DigiDestined as well as the group of children brought here by Owikawa watched as the maroon-haired preteen shouted at them. "It's only over if you believe it is! Just because ting look bad, doesn't mean that you don't try to fix it! So quit being a bunch of sad sacks and let's beat this guy!"

"He sound…enthusiastic," Micheal Himura commented.

"Hey, but that cutie in white doesn't look too bad," Kyo Saito observed with a smirk. "I call dibs on her!"

"Say what?!" Daisuke burst out. "Nuh-uh! No way! I saw her first!"

"Why don't we let her decide who she likes best?" Shun suggested.

"Boys," Mayu sighed as the other girl nodded in agreement.

"Hey look, something's happening!" a boy shouted.

"Look at all those Digimon!"

"No way!"

"There's gotta be at least a hundred!"

The~Ninth~Child

"Looks like we've got reinforcements!" Ken breathed out in awe as hundreds of thousands of Digimon appeared over the tops of the canyons and all over.

"No matter how strong the darkness may be," Kagome said, "There will always be light right there with it!"

"The light form the Digivices lead us all here," Gabumon called down to them.

"Digimon partners from all over the world are gathering together!" Gomamon added.

"We won't allow you to destroy our world!" Biyomon shouted.

"Yeah!" Tentomon added. "You think you can bully us? Well, put up your dukes!"

"HA!" MaloMyotismon scoffed. "Do you really think your meaningless band of buffoons will be able to stand against me? Not a chance! Screaming Darkness!"

A strong dark wind washed over everyone within the canyon, preventing them from doing anything at all.

"We need help," Kagome looked up at the image of the Earth, barely making out tiny pinpricks of light through the shrouding darkness. "Please, send us your light!"

Everyone gasped as beams of light suddenly shot down to the gathered Digimon.

"Wh-What is this light?!" MaloMyotismon shouted. "What's happening to me?! This light…it's blinding! NO!"

"Look, he's in pain!" Davis pointed out.

"The light of the Digimon and Digivices must be hurting him somehow," Yolei gasped.

"No," Kagome shook her head, "It's not the light, it's what's causing the light that's hurting him. The bond between a Digimon and its partner is strong and full of pure energy! That's what's hurting MaloMyotismon!"

"And that's not the only thing that's happening," T.K pointed out, "Our Digimon look like they're getting recharged or something!"

Kagome raised her arm and snapped thrice, each snap echoing loudly, music beginning to fill the air. 'Mimi, I need your help for this!' Kagome reached her hand up as she began singing.

Kibou ni Tsuite (The Meaning of Hope) – AKB48/AKB0048

Even if you reach out your hand
You won't be able to reach it yet

Everyone looked up when they heard another voice join Kagome's and saw Mimi singing and reaching out to the raven-haired girl's hand.

"Mimi?" Yolei's eyes widened in shock. "I didn't even know she could sing!"

*Our dreams are still so far away*

By now, Mimi was on solid ground next to Kagome as the two sang and broke out into a dance as well, their voices echoing loudly through the canyon.

*The stars of the night sky,
Lie billions of light years away
Shining beyond the shadows*

"First Kagome and now Mimi?!" Tai scratched his head. "Just how much don't we know about those two?! Heck, I didn't even know she knew the Taishos of all people until they came to see us off!"

"A lot I'd say," Matt smiled fondly down at the raven-haired girl that was singing her heart out with her friend.

Sora saw the look on Matt's face and realized that it was Kagome he was looking at with those eyes so full of love. 'Oh, Matt…You're in love with Kagome, aren't you? And you're going out with me?'

*Let me speak of hope
Like a nameless poet, with passion
If you find yourself drowning in tears
Instead of comforting you
Let me show you the coming dawn*

"It's hopeless," the young girl Tai and the others brought with them, Noriko, said, "I knew it was too good to be true. We really weren't meant to be DigiDestined…"

(Music)

Even if you search for love
You won't find it right away

"Besides," a boy from the group Owikawa had taken added, "Since we still have the Dark Spores inside of us, we're tainted and we have nothing but more pain to look forward to!"

"Oh no, the darkness is returning!" Kari whimpered.

*Begin with yourself and love someone else*
*This wide universe is guided by fate
Where only a single light can be seen*

A black wisp started emanating from the children as more and more of their negative thoughts were being voiced. Ken was the only one to notice that the wisp had been absorbed by MaloMyotismon and immediately understood what was happening. "Guys, he's growing stronger!"

"Yes, my children, continue to despair and whine in fright," MaloMyotismon smirked, "You'll only be helping me get stronger with your fear and sorrow!"

"It doesn't matter if you have partner Digimon or if you're DigiDestined!" Davis told the group of children. "You don't need any of that stuff to have a really great life!"

*Let me speak of hope
With the depth of an old sailor*

"That's easy for you to say," a boy spoke, "You have a Digimon."

"Everyone has problems they have trouble dealing with, but that doesn't mean we give up and give in to our troubles," T.K spoke to them. "Look at Ken! He didn't give up when he found out that Owikawa was using him, did he? So then you shouldn't either!"

"If you don't believe in T.K's words," Yolei spoke up, "Then maybe you'll listen to Kaogme and Mimi's song! Listen to them!" She gestured to the still singing and dancing duo. "They're singing about hope! They singing so that you won't give up hope!"

*When something hurts you
Instead of tending the wound
Let me show you the coming dawn*

"So what do we even have left of us that Owikawa didn't take already?" a girl asked.

"Your hopes and dreams!" Davis told them. "Those are things that no one, no matter who or what they are, can ever take away from you because they're your own!"

"I think they're gone," Noriko spoke, "They were probably taken away by that Owikawa man."

"Geez, could you guys get anymore pessimistic?!" Davis burst out. "The only person that can take away your dreams is you!"

(Music)

"So what's your dream?" Daisuke asked.

"Uh, well," Davis flushed a little. "I-I wanna open a noodle cart!"

Everyone face-faulted at that statement, not expecting something like that to come out of Davis' mouth. The children taken by Owikawa looked astounded at hearing about the maroon-haired preteen's dream.

"What's the matter with that?" Davis asked. "I wanna make the best noodles in the whole wide world!"

"That's great, Davis!" Ken smiled.

"Well, I-I always wanted to be a kindergarten teacher," Noriko gave a small smile.

"Me, too," Kari grinned at the girl.

*The truth is that we all give up
Just to take the easy way out
But even so, our dreams will never forsake us*

"What about you?" Davis asked the boy who'd asked him about his dream.

"A baseball player," the boy replied.

Everyone saw how a piece of MaloMyotismon disintegrated with that one sentence. And nodded to each other. They needed to keep everyone speaking of their dreams and believing in them.

"I've always wanted to own a bakery; I've always loved the scent of fresh bread!"

"I wanted to become a comic book artist, but since everyone said my drawings looked weird, I gave up on it!"

"I get it," the boy who'd asked Davis about his dream spoke up, "We've always had dreams, but somehow thought we didn't because we thought they were worthless!"

*Let me speak of hope
Like a nameless poet, with passion*

"I wish we hadn't wasted all this time," Noriko smiled sadly.

"It's never too late to make your dreams a reality," Yolei assured the young girl.

"Do you think even kids like us cam make our dreams come true?" another boy asked.

"Definitely!" Davis nodded.

"Even me?" A girl asked, flushing lightly.

"Absolutely!" Everyone replied.

"Absolutely for real?" the children asked together.

"They just said yes, didn't they?" Kyo winked with a grin.

*If you find yourself drowning in tears
Instead of comforting you
Let me show you the coming dawn*

"I feel like I can do anything now!" a boy grinned as he and the other children as well as the De-DigiDestined filtered into the Digital World excitedly.

"You can if you just believe," T.K assured them all.

"I do, I believe in myself now," one of the younger boys smiled.

Suddenly, there were multiple glowing patches sitting before the children, revealing themselves to be baby Digimon. "What?" a Poyomon asked. "Aren't you happy to meet your partner Digimon?"

One by one each of the children found their arms full with a baby Digimon and, eventually, a D3.

*When you are unable to find an answer
As you continue to walk*

Everyone turned to back to MaloMyotismon just in time to find the last of his disentigrating, leaving a black mist to slither up into the sky. "No, this can't be happening! These paltry children can't make me disappear! I'll never allow it!"

"Point your Digivices and aim the lights at me so we can get rid of that pesky darkness forever!" Paildramon ordered them all.

*I will speak of hope
And just like a nameless soldier
Someday my dreams will nourish my life*

The DigiDestined all pointed their Digivices at Paildramon, the lights merging to form a large one-time-use cannon. "Giga Crusher!"

A blast of energy was sent at the patch of darkness in the sky, but when it came in contact with the large mass, a spectrum of colours erupted like a super nova, nearly blinding everyone from the brightness of it all.

"We did it!" Davis cheered as the Digimon all reverted back to their Rookie forms.

Kagome and Mimi hugged each other as they laughed. "It over, Mei-Mei?" Kapurimon popped his head out of Kagome's bag, somehow getting her mask on his face in the process. The two girls only giggled at the adorable sight before nodding and telling him that everything was fine again.

"Gennai?" Gatomon asked, looking up at the robed man. "What are you doing here?"

"I have a gift for you, Gatomon," He knelt down and held out hid hand, showing the small golden ring inside.

"Your tial ring is quite an important little item, Gatomon," Gennai explained, "It kept the dark powers of the Digimon Emperor's base from growing out of control and it allowed you all to DNA Digivolve an since that's not necessary anymore you get to have it back. But do me a little favour, no big deal, but of you could keep it away from power-hungry evil creature trying to destroy the world that'd be great." He turned to the DigiDestined. "And in all seriousness, thank you al for your help in saving the Digital World."

"We ended up in another world, too," T.K spoke up. "What was that place anyway?"

"Believe it or not, that's a place that has the ability to grant wishes," the robed man replied, "Or rather, it is the power to grant wishes. The Digital World also has some of that power to make dreams come true."

"So then the Digital World is created through a mixture of data and dreams," Yolei observed.

"I understand now," Ken's eyes widened, "Then maybe the Dark Realm is a place that brings a person's dark thoughts to life!"

"Hey, shouldn't we remove those Dark Spores from the children?" Yolei asked worriedly. "Wouldn't it be dangerous to leave them be?"

"It's actually nothing to worry about," the navy-haired preteen shook his head, "As long as we believe in our hopes and dreams, the Dark Spores will remain powerless."

"That's a relief," Yolei sighed. She turned around and gasped at the scene that met her eyes. "Cody!"
