Adam let out a howl of pain and would've staggered backwards if Michael wasn't holding him so tightly.

"Told you that you were a crack shot," Jack said. "Straight in the right leg! Fucking brilliant!"

Danielle heard the prisoners being forced towards the door. Her rapist was going to get away with it. She was wrong. Ashley didn't even see it coming as Michael Myers released Adam briefly, strode to him in 3 large strides, yanked him to his feet by the arm and slit his throat with one lethal swipe of his knife.

"Nice," Rick said appreciatively to the killer, who turned immediately back towards his number one target.

There was something else Danielle just had to do before it was over. Approaching Adam and Michael with Jack still supporting her, she reached up and grabbed Adam by the ears. She pulled them as hard as she could, enjoying his screams of pain loving the fact he didn't dare insult her or tell her to get off his ears.

"You know," Danielle spoke over his yells of agony. "That's the only thing I'll miss about you Adam, your ears!" Jack laughed out loud.

"Cops are here boss," said Rick. "They're in the process of taking the prisoners away under arrest before they return. Well, the remaining ones that is!" He glared at Ashley's corpse. "I told them our priority was getting Danielle out and we'd tell them when it was done. So we've got plenty of time to watch the show." Rick lent against the wall. He saw Adam glaring at him and laughed. "What mate? You expect us to help you? Dream on! You deserve everything you get!"

"I think he cracked his head on the stair rail," Jack resumed his commentary for Danielle as he guided her back to a chair. She couldn't stand for too long just then. "He's bleeding from the head and it looks as if Michael has stabbed him several times."

"Good!" Danielle said, just as Michael again raised his knife.

"No, please Mr. Myers," they heard Adam beg. It was music to Danielle's ears. "Please no, I promise I'll never harm Danielle again, never touch her! I know she's yours now Sir and I can't get to her, so I won't. Please let me live and I promise she'll never hear from me again!"

Now it was Dr Loomis's turn to laugh. "Perhaps if you'd said that before you pulled your fucking evil stunt today, you might've been in with a chance of mercy. Ever heard the expression too little too late?"

Danielle didn't have to guess to know that by Adam's howl of pain, Myers had just stabbed him yet again. She felt a rush of love for Michael so powerful she momentarily felt dizzy under its impact. Something must've shown on her face because Rick joined Jack, both putting their arms around her. Rick even wolf whistled, which made Danielle laugh weakly.

"I never asked you if you could whistle did I?" She asked Rick, who chuckled.

"Nope, but I sure can," he said, and whistled a happy little tune as Michael lifted Adam clean off his feet and slammed him against the wall.

"Ow," Danielle said. "That sounded like it hurt. Fuck I wish I could see this!"

"Head first in to the wall," Jack confirmed. "So yes it probably did."

"Please Danielle," Adam whimpered, causing Danielle's mouth to fall open in shock and disgust. How he dared… "Please, please I'm begging you. Ask your boyfriend here for mercy, to spare my life? I promise I won't ever touch you again, I admit it, and ok I've lost! Please Danielle I'll do anything…"

"I'm terribly sorry Sir," Danielle stood up again, standing tall and facing down her years long tormentor. Dr Loomis felt a rush of pride. If only Dr Stark and Joanne were here to see this. "But I'm afraid that's not the woman's decision is it Sir? You've told me that enough times. I have absolutely no control over what Michael decides to do. He is after all, the man. He has the control. I'm just a little woman. How dare I try and ask Michael to do anything."

Jack and rick snorted and hugged Danielle close tightly. "Fucking brilliant," Jack whispered and this time Danielle could hear he was in tears. "Fucking brilliant, Danielle! Jesus I'm proud of you girl!"

"Here, here!" Rick agreed.

"I can't ask him to make it quick Sir, nor can I ask him to make it slow and painful, though Michael, please do? Fuck! I hope you feel every second of your death! You know I said go to hell Adam just now? Seems like that is indeed where you're headed! Let me know if it's hot enough eh?"

Now Danielle couldn't help herself. She approached Michael and Adam, Jack at her side and felt love swell for Jack all over again, as the guard offered her his arm.

"Thanks Jack," she whispered and using his support, she raised her bandaged and painful leg and kneed Adam to the balls as hard as she could. Pain had never been more worth it in her whole life.

She heard all the breath shoot out of him in one and he slumped over. She just knew he was trying not to be sick. "Whoops," Danielle said quietly. "I'm so sorry Sir, didn't see what I was doing."

Now Rick, Jack and Dr Loomis all laughed out loud. "Better hurry it up mate," Rick murmured to Michael. "I'm keeping an eye out for the returning cops, but sadly we'd better get this done soon. Much as I'd love it to take hours!"

"Please," Adam was still begging for his life. Unable to help himself, Jack stepped forward and punched him straight to the face. There was a crack as Adam's nose broke and blood poured everywhere.

"I got to get in on this," said Chris Leach's voice as he entered the room. In light of what he'd done for them, Dr Loomis had made sure he wasn't arrested. "Hey! Dawson! Motherfucker! Enjoy your death and may you never, ever rest in peace!" With that, Chris Leach smashed his fist across Adam's throat. He'd made every effort not to kill the guy with that one punch. That wasn't after all his job.

Michael grabbed Adam by the hair and yanked him back to his feet. Everyone in the room even Adam knew it was for the last time. "Burn in hell," Danielle snarled.

Adam seemed to know he was out of chances or mercy, because he turned towards Danielle and spat his last words. "Fuck you bitch! You seriously expect this Psychopathic killer to stay faithful to you? She won't stay faithful to you either Myers! Slightest chance of someone else comes along she'll be gone! You fucking slut! You opened your legs for this Psychopath yet? Your so-called relationship doesn't stand a chance! Fuck you Michael Myers, Danielle Hayward!"

There was a sickening, awful sound of a knife slicing through flesh, then the whoosh of escaping blood. Despite everything, Danielle was glad she didn't see exactly what happened. That was, until she heard the thump of something hitting the floor. Jack and Rick both turned away in unison, bringing Danielle with them as they were still holding her. "Jesus!" Jack said thickly. "Fuck! That's my sleep gone for a year! Not that I'm sorry for him you understand! He deserved that and more!"

"He…" Danielle just managed. "He's just decapitated him hasn't he?" The others silence told her all she needed to know.

"It's ok I got this," Leach said casually, as if he was dealing with a piece of litter as opposed to a rolling human head. "I'll deal with this. You guys get moving." Rick saw Leach pick up Adam's head by the ears, and reflected Danielle would've loved that, but he sure as hell wasn't going to tell her, he was fighting with his own stomach.

"Got him by the ears," Leach said conversationally, as if reading Rick's mind. "Well, his head anyway."

Before Danielle could take as much as a step, she felt the arms around her. Not Rick or Jack this time, but Michael. For a second stupid as it was, she felt a twinge of fear. Michael had just killed 2 men; all be it they'd been Ashley and Adam. Was he still…? But she instantly got the answer when with a metallic clang, Michael's knife hit the floor. A lump rushed to her throat. He was telling her she was and would always be completely safe from him. Unable to stop herself, she took a chance she would never have dared to just weeks before. Reaching up, she tentatively felt Michael Myers's infamous mask for the very first time. It simply felt like thick rubber, even the hair was fake.

"It might not feel terrifying," Jack said. "But believe me Danielle, fuck me it looks it!"

"Ok. Jack," Dr Loomis said and Danielle was glad to hear him taking control. She'd be damned if she could. "Let's get out to the car, get to the hospital. Rick, stay here with the cops, tell them the story we tried to restrain Michael, but it was impossible and he killed Adam and this rapist," he actually kicked Ashley's corpse. "We couldn't do a thing."

"Got it boss," Rick said immediately.

"Wait, can you?" It was Leach speaking quietly. "Just one second, please?" The crime Lord approached Danielle and Michael, holding out his hand to the killer.

"Mr. Myers, Danielle, I'm so terribly sorry. I had no idea what Dawson's… or should I say the late Dawson's plan actually was in the end. I mean I knew he was going to try and grab you Danielle, but this?" He gestured at her deathly pale face. "Too far! That's why I was waiting at the airport, I knew enough was enough and had to do my part! If you kill me next Mr. Myers, I deserve it. I should of, could have done more to stop him and I didn't, purely thinking of money. Yes I'm a high ranking criminal, I'll admit it. But that? Too much."

"Please don't?" Danielle said to Michael. "He got me out of my chains as you saw, treated my wounds, and helped me. I think he really is sorry for everything. He helped rescue me tonight."

Chris Leach and the others were sure they heard Michael softly sigh, before to Leach's shock, the killer took Leach's proffered hand in a firm shake.

"Thank you both," he said quietly. "I'm going to disband the rest of the Misogynist gang; I want nothing further to do with them and I'm also going to work really hard on turning my life around. Maybe this lifestyle isn't what I want after all."

Danielle smiled at Leach. "Good for you," she said sincerely. "Good luck, Chris."

"Thanks," the crime Lord said, shaking Danielle's hand in turn. "You take care and get better soon Danielle."

To Danielle's enormous relief, Dr Loomis didn't step in to stop Michael supporting her. Next second she'd been lifted in to his arms and was being carried from the house. Who knew it? She thought. This man's just killed 2 men in cold blood and now he's carrying me to safety? Not just that, but he loves me?

As soon as they reached the car, Dr Loomis turned to Michael. "Michael, do you remember what we discussed?" The killer didn't react while he eased Danielle as lovingly as he could in to her seat, trying not to hurt her any more than she already was. Finally and only when he was sure Danielle was as comfortable as possible, he turned to his doctor and nodded very slightly.

"Sorry mate," Rick said as he picked up wrist and leg chains. "I no more want to do it than Jack or Dr Loomis do. But we have to. Please trust us though, you'll be beside each other all the way tonight from this moment on, not separated at all." He chained Michael, but nowhere near as tight as it should be, purely for show. The 2 guards helped the now chained killer in to the car, in to the seat beside Danielle, before Rick walked back in to the house. Jack and Dr Loomis took the seats behind them, Scott jumped in to the driver's seat and within seconds the whale of the siren once more rent the air as they shot in to the rapidly falling night

Darkness. That was the first thing Joanne saw when she tried to open her eyes. They felt like they were stuck together with glue. When she finally managed, even then she was still disorientated. She blinked several times, before her hospital room came slowly back in to focus and with it, her memories. Of course. She was in the hospital after that prick Adam Dawson had injected her with chloroform to enable him to take Danielle. Shit! Danielle! Where the hell was she? Was she ok?

She was just about to get out of bed when as if on cue, there was a gentle knock on her door. "Come in?" Joanne called and was relieved to hear she sounded almost back to normal now.

The door opened and Joanne didn't know whether to feel terror or relief when she saw Dr Loomis enter her room. She opened her mouth to speak, but Dr Loomis got there first.

"Joanne, its ok, Danielle's alright, we got to her. Long story, but she's now in this hospital. Michael is also with her."

"How?" Joanne asked. "I thought you'd gone back to Smith's Grove?"

"The hospital staff contacted us to tell us Danielle was missing from the ward. We flew back down here knowing something was wrong. But just humour me for a moment please Joanne. How are you feeling?"

"Getting there," Joanne said, deciding her boss would know immediately if she lied, so stuck to the truth. "Chloroform is evil, lethal shit. I'm just thankful they only wanted to knock me out. They could've just as easily killed me. But I wasn't that evil fucker's target! Where is he now? Have the police got him?"

Dr Loomis smiled grimly. "There's no need to arrest him now."

"No… what the hell are you talking about?"

"Well, that is, unless they've changed the law so criminals who are now in their coffins have to face trial?"

Joanne stared at him, then spoke one word in just above a whisper. "No?"

"Yes," Dr Loomis said, again with that grim smile. "Adam Dawson had made an enemy named Michael Myers and as we both know that's… not the best idea if you want to live a long and happy life."

Joanne couldn't help but notice that her boss had not elaborated on Dawson's cause of death, and she sure as hell didn't want the details just then either. "Good," she said instead. "Good riddance."

Slowly and carefully, Joanne climbed out of bed and was relieved to find her legs responding to her brain's commands. She felt almost as good as new. "I have to see her," she said to Dr Loomis, who didn't object, just nodded. "This way."

Joanne followed him down the corridors, expecting any moment she'd start to feel tired or groggy again but no such thing happened. It seemed clear that the drug was almost out of her system entirely.

"Now I will warn you," Dr Loomis said quietly as they stopped outside a room in another ward. "I… wouldn't ask Michael to leave if you want to live past tonight."

Joanne gave her boss the same grim smile he'd given her. "Got it. Wouldn't even think about it."
